Hi, I'm 14 years old, and this is my first shot at a screenplay. Plotline: After being humiliated at a party, an ostracized freshman begins to have a number of violent outbursts. This causes the attention of an assistant dean, who assigns a junior to keep an eye on the freshman via an underground security camera. But, when the freshman is humiliated again, this time under two juniors, the freshman loses his sanity, causing a dangerous event to happen the following day. This is only a first draft...

FADE IN:

EXT. BREE'S BACKYARD - NIGHT

A weekend party is taking place, with about 50 people
invited. Technically, it's remiscent to a barbeque, with
burgers being cooked, and countless numbers of sodas. BREE
is speaking with her friend, JOSH, about how great this
party was planned.

                       BREE
Dude, you actually invited 50
people here?

                       JOSH
I told a lot of people that you
were having a party, and so, in a
snap, everyone was so excited they
wanted to come.

                       BREE
Weird...
(pauses for a moment)
How did you do it?

                       JOSH
Easy shit. Besides, you're
popular, aren't you?

                       BREE
Well, I wouldn't say popular, but
mostly, well-known. We've gone to
school together for a long time,
haven't we?

                       JOSH
That was sophomore year when we
actually met.

                       BREE
Then how did we meet Nick?

Josh begins to confess.

                       JOSH
Okay, alright. We met him the same
sophomore year. Same time I came
in.

                       BREE
      (chuckling)
Well, that's alright. At least we
            (MORE)

2.

                       BREE (cont'd)
all had a good time before "he"
came in...

                       JOSH
You mean, Jade? I suggest you
don't mention him. Even saying his
name annoys me.

                       BREE
Look, I know that he's annoying a
lot, but you know he's not that
stupid to go wreck another's
party...

A crashing sound, and everyone suddenly stops. JADE is seen,
trying to get something he dropped, but several objects
fall.
Bree walks up to Jade, looking angry at him.

                       BREE
Jade, what the hell are you doing
here?

Jade refuses to speak.

                       BREE
Well?

Still no answer.

                       BREE
Jade, are you going to say
something, or are you going to
leave?

                       JADE
I was looking for something. Is
that a huge shit-problem for you?

                       BREE
Jade, don't you talk like that to
me. Do you know why the whole
party stopped?

                       JADE
      (uneasy)
Er... The table fell on the pool?

A table is seen, floating on the pool.

                       BREE
No, seriously.

3.

                       JADE
How the fuck would I know?

                       BREE
How did you get here?

                       JADE
Huh?

                       BREE
      (raising her voice)
HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET HERE???

                       JADE
      (angrily)
Okay, so I was throwing a ball up
in the air, and the thing plucked
down into the damn... what is that
thing called again?

Bree pushes Jade into the pool. A loud splash.

                       BREE
Jade, are you on fuckin' drugs?
The whole party stopped because
your fuckin' ball wasn't even
invited! Neither were you!

                       JADE
Well, is that major?

                       JOSH (O.S.)
Of course, a party crash is major!

                       BREE
Jade, I want you out of my house.
Now.

                       JADE
Yeah, but...

Bree throws food at him, as he swims out.

                       BREE
      (angry)
GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT NOW!!!

At this moment, everyone begins to throw food at Jade,
calling him names. He hops over the fence, as everyone
continuously throws food at him. He runs out into the night,
and the last thing he hears is "PRICK!" fron Josh.

Bree turns to Josh.

4.

                       BREE
Did you invite him?

                       JOSH
No, I didn't. Besides, I don't
like him at all.

                       BREE
I'm gonna have to make a phone
call to him, tonight.

                       JOSH
I thought you don't want to talk
to him.

                       BREE
I was going to deliver him a
warning.

INT. ESPORITO RESIDENCE - NIGHT

The doorbell rings. MR. ESPORITO, Jade's father, opens the
door. Jade is there, covered in food stains.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Jade, what the hell are you doing
in food stains?

Jade looks sad.

                       JADE
      (sadly)
I don't want to talk about it.

                       MR. ESPORITO
What do you mean? I mean, you can
always come to me if you have any
problems.

                       JADE
I just don't want to talk about
it.

IN JADE'S ROOM

Jade walks into his room, changing his clothes. While he
changes, His phone rings. Shirtless, Jade goes to answer it.

                       JADE
Yeah?

5.

                       BREE (V.O.)
Jade, what the hell is wrong with
you? I can't even believe you came
into my fucking house and decided
to crash my party! Do you know how
much fuckin-

                       JADE
Wait, what?

                       BREE (V.O.)
You were there earlier tonight.
You crashed the party. Now my
friends are pissed off at you and
have decided to ostracize you,
starting tomorrow.

                       JADE
Isn't it Saturday?

                       BREE (V.O.)
It's fuckin' Sunday, you dumbshit.
Check your fuckin' calendar.

                       JADE
Your reason for calling me? And
how did you get my number?

                       BREE (V.O.)
I could ask that same fucking
question to you, you prick.

                       JADE
Well, what the hell are you
calling me for, aren't you
supposed to be with your friends?

                       BREE (V.O.)
It's like, fucking 12:21 midnight,
dammit.

                       JADE
Your point?

                       BREE (V.O.)
The reason I'm calling you right
now, instead of talking to you
tomorrow, is that you stop
stalking us upperclassmen and go
find people of your grade!

                       JADE
And your point?

6.

                       BREE (V.O.)
My point is that I want you out of
my life. I don't want anything to
do with you, or I don't want to
even see you. Neither does anyone
else. And besides, you've already
been ostracized from the very
beginning.

                       JADE
      (angry)
Problem is, we still go to the
same school. You're not going to
make me leave Ladent.

                       BREE (V.O.)
Ever heard of not talking to you?
Not wanting to contact with you?
Huh? You heard of that, prick?

A loud hangup from Bree. After Jade hangs up the phone, he
begins to feel ashamed, and has heard this now: He has lost
the trust of others, and cannot communicate with other
classmates, not even Bree.

Later, he sleeps, but it would not stop him from crying
silently at the thought.

INT. LADENT PREPARATORY ACADEMY - DAY

Students are busy, talking about school. It's 5-minute
break, and yet nothing exciting is happening.

AT THE DOOR

Jade is seen, entering the hallway, feeling down for
himself. As he walks to his locker, he sees Bree, talking
with her friends, Josh, MARISSA, and LESLIE. He then
continues to walk to his locker, and changes his items, and
begins to see someone right next to him.

                       JADE
      (to the person)
Umm.. do you have any-

Abruptly, the person turns away from him, walking away. Bree
had been right. Everyone would not communicate with him.
Sadly, he continues to pick up and stack items into his
locker, before going to Biology class.

7.

IN MRS. SANDER'S BIOLOGY CLASSROOM

Jade enters, not feeling so great. MRS. SANDERS, his bio
teacher, sees his expression.

                       MRS. SANDERS
You feeling alright? You take your
breakfast?

                       JADE
      (bored tone)
No, I'm fine. Thanks.

KENNY, Jade's classmate, and a friend, sees him sad, and
Jade takes his seat next to him.

                       KENNY
Dude, you're not feeling okay, are
you?

                       JADE
No. Ostracism.

                       KENNY
Well, that's stupid. Hope you took
your breakfast today.

                       JADE
I tried corn flakes. They didn't
work.

LATER, IN THE HALLWAY

In the hallway, while Jade is changing stuff in his locker,
he tries to talk to someone, but he/she would not speak to
him. It's lunchtime, and he forgot to bring his lunch for
the third time in a row.

IN THE MEN'S RESTROOM

Jade washes his hands, looking at himself in the mirror. He
then goes to the stall, and sobs silently to himself. While
he does so, someone kicks the stall door.

                       JADE
      (sobbing)
Will you fuckin' give me a moment?

8.

OUTSIDE, IN THE COURTYARD

On his way to the library, Jade observes the place, and sees
people eating in tables, enjoying their lunches. He looks
around for several moments, and screams. Everyone stops
eating to stare at him, and then Jade runs into a lunch
table, where Bree, Marissa, NICK, Josh, Leslie, and MORGAN
usually sit, and plunges into the top, sliding. On the
table, he spins and kicks Josh and Leslie in the faces,
while screaming. Two people: Bree, and Morgan, pin him down,
and struggle to take Jade into the front office, as Jade
constantly screams.

                       MORGAN
      (struggling)
I thought you didn't want to see
him again!

                       BREE
      (struggling)
What the hell do you expect? He
goes to the same damn school,
anyway!

INT. FRONT OFFICE - DAY

Jade is sitting in the bench, waiting to be called. The
receptionist, MR. JERSEY, calls him to his desk.

                       MR. JERSEY
Can I see you for a moment?

Jade walks to Mr. Jersey's desk.

                       JADE
You needed to see me?

                       MR. JERSEY
The chief dean is not in today, so
you're going to need to wait for
the second. Also, you recently got
a detention, did you?

                       JADE
Really, I don't remember getting a
detention.

9.

                       MR. JERSEY
But, my records are showing me
that..
(takes a look at his computer, and
looks back at Jade)
You missed one on Thursday?

                       JADE
I didn't get a slip, though.

                       MR. JERSEY
But someone called you in here, is
that correct?

                       JADE
Look, I don't even remember being
called by the front-

                       MR. JERSEY
      (strictly)
Sir, don't ever tell an official
to "look". Ever. Now, you were
called in here, were you?

                       JADE
I don't know. That's all I think.

                       MR. JERSEY
Okay. You will be serving a lunch
detention tomorrow, to make up the
one last Thursday, because our
school can't afford to see-

The second dean, MR. ARGON, walks in from his office.

                       MR. ARGON
Is Jade available?

                       MR. JERSEY
He's right here.

                       MR. ARGON
      (to Jade)
Get in here.

Jade gets up from his seat, walking into

MR. ARGON'S OFFICE

and takes a seat on the first chair.

                       JADE
I don't know why I'm here.

10.

                       MR. ARGON
You were dragged here by some
juniors, talking about some sort
of, lunch-wrecking?

                       JADE
Lunch-wrecking?

                       MR. ARGON
Why?

Jade is silent.

                       MR. ARGON
You don't have anything to say
about your stunt at lunch today?

Jade remains silent.

                       MR. ARGON
Look, it was reported that you
crashed into a table, hurting two
people, by kicking them in the
faces, and you don't have anything
to say about that?

Jade remains silent.

                       MR. ARGON (cont'd)
You don't have anything to say?

Jade shakes his head no.

INT. SPANISH CLASSROOM - DAY

It's Tuesday, and 3rd Period begins. Jade enters the room,
seeing people sitting down, talking. The bell rings in 4
minutes, and he finds his seat between Marissa, who sits in
front of him, and ALEX, one of his friends, who sits next to
him.

                       ALEX
Jade, did you get the homework?

                       JADE
We had homework?

                       ALEX
Yeah, that page seventy-something
one.

11.

                       JADE
      (unsure)
Wait, we really had something for
homework on Friday?

                       MARISSA
      (to Jade)
Well, duh. You could've taken care
of that shit rather than crash
people's parties.

                       JADE
Fuck you, bitch.

Marissa turns back to the front of the classroom, ignoring
Jade.

                       JADE
      (to Alex)
I had to see someone at the
office, so I couldn't get to it.

                       ALEX
What the hell were you doing
Friday night, anyway?

The bell rings.

                       JADE
I'll tell you about it later.

At that moment, Jade takes his seat, as Spanish begins. His
Spanish teacher, SRA. OLIVIA, takes attendance.

                       SRA. OLIVIA
Is there anyone not here at the
moment?

                       MARISSA
Not here?

                       SRA. OLIVIA
I mean, absent. Otherwise, you're
tardy.

                       MARISSA
You're saying that I'm tardy???

                       SRA. OLIVIA
No. I was asking the class to see
if any students were missing.

SRA. OLIVIA finishes taking attendance.

12.

                       SRA. OLIVIA
Okay, I need the whole class to
get out their homework.

As students are getting their homework out, Jade raises his
hand.

                       SRA. OLIVIA
Yes?

                       JADE
What was the homework, again?

                       SRA. OLIVIA
Pagina 73-74.

                       JADE
Oh.

Jade realizes that he has gotten down this homework
assingnment, and opens his bookbag to get out his Spanish
workbook and textbook. He opens his workbook, turns to the
pages, and he finds that he finished this page. Jade feels
relieved.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

HIP-HOP MONTAGE - BREAK

A) Bell rings

B) Locker opens

C) Cracking of knuckles

Bree is busy, talking with Marissa and Leslie.

                       LESLIE
Anatomy went well, didn't it?

                       BREE
No. It sucked. Like usual.

                       LESLIE
Sorry, I hate chemistry.

                       BREE
I really don't blame you. I got
yet to see somebody who even is in
love with it.

13.

                       MARISSA
I was forced to take that shitty
thing again.

                       BREE
Why, you failed it?

                       MARISSA
They're pricks. They believe I
don't have the "core
understanding".

Leslie giggles.

                       LESLIE
What the hell does "core
understanding" have to do with
anything? I mean, it's just
grades, right?

                       MARISSA
I thought you were about to say,
"participation".

MEGAN, one of Nick's friends, encounters the three girls
talking.

Hey, how's school coming, Bree?

                       BREE

Pray that I don't go back to
anatomy tomorrow...

                       MEGAN
You hate anatomy? What the fuck,
you're an AP Student for God's
sake. Cheer up!

INT. MR. GRATE'S HISTORY CLASSROOM - DAY

MR. GRATE, the history teacher, gives a lesson on the
Russian Revolution of 1917.

                       MR. GRATE
Okay, from what we have asked
earlier, does anyone know when the
first Russian Revolution began?
Even though there were multiple?

KIELY, one of Jade's enemies, raises her hand.

                       MR. GRATE
      (to Kiely)
Yes, Kiely?

                       KIELY
Was it during the days of February
23 to 27 of 1917, according to a
calendar in Russia?
Or perhaps a revolt?

                       MR. GRATE
Technically, that was the second.
However, the calendar used in
Russia was the Julian, or "Old
Style".

                       JADE
Then what is "new style"?

                       MR. GRATE
      (explaining)
The "New Style" was called the
Gregorian calendar, which was
responsible for moving dates by
thirteen days, therefore, the
calendar dates for the first
revolution would be from March the
eighth to the twelfth.

                       KIELY
March the 12th... That's when my
birthday is.

                       JADE
Do we really give a shit?

                       KIELY
      (angrily, to Jade)
YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP, BITCH!!!

15.

                       MR. GRATE
      (strictly)
Kiely, I suggest you watch your
mouth in my classroom, or else
you'll get a referral.
(then, to Jade)
You too, Jade.

Mr. Grate continues with his lesson.

                       MR. GRATE
Now, even though there was one in
1917, really, the first revolution
was in 1905. There had been no
cause or aim, and this fight was
not controlled whatsoever.

                       OTHER STUDENT
Does this mean that it was just
random?

                       MR. GRATE
Really, I would not say, random,
whatsoever, but-

From out of nowhere, Jade abruptly screams incoherently, and
throws his chair across the room. He then pummels and dives
through the top of a desk, then picking it up, throwing it
across the room. Students are trying to get away from the
flying table, running through a corner. Mr. Grate tries to
stop him by grabbing his left arm, and taking him

OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

as Jade continues to jump and scream, then through the
stairs, jumping uncontrollably, trying to get away from Mr.
Grate's grip.

INT. MS. HARDY'S OFFICE - DAY

A while after being taken in, Jade is sitting blankly, MS.
HARDY facing him.

                       MS. HARDY
Sir, we want to know what happened
in History.

Jade stares at Ms. Hardy blankly.

                       MS. HARDY
You don't have anything to say?

16.

Jade continues to stare, without emotion, without saying
anything.

                       MS. HARDY
Sir, you need to stop with these
random outbursts. You're really
scaring, if not, frightening other
people trying to learn here. We
are at a preparatory academy, not
a psych ward.

Jade stares angrily.

                       MS. HARDY
Sir?

No answer. Jade gets up from his seat.

                       MS. HARDY
      (angrily)
Sir, you need to sit down. I am
definitely not done with-

Abruptly, Jade tackles and punches Ms. Hardy repeatedly.
Several officials enter the office, and try to pull Jade
away from a beaten Ms. Hardy. Jade is taken away from the
office, while he is still screaming.

INT. MR. CAROLE'S OFFICE - DAY

Mr. Carole, and his parents, Mr. and MRS. ESPORITO are in
the room, discussing about Jade's recent behavior today.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
Mr. Carole, is there something we
can help you with? I mean,
anything that can help Jade,
because we didn't know that he
started to behave violently
lately, I mean, he's a nice kid..
I've never really seen him with
these outbursts...

                       MR. CAROLE
The problem is, that these
outbursts have been going on for a
very long while. For me, even, I
know that they're sudden and all,
but seeing that his behavior is
extremely inappropriate and a
disturbance to our peace, it's
best that we..

17.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Whatever you do, do not even think
of putting him on disciplinary
probation because he is never
known for disrupting other
teachers..

                       MR. CAROLE
Disrupting teachers is one
ballgame, and that is not what I'm
talking about right now. This is
violent outbursts that's
disturbing not only teachers, but
even other students, and no, this
type of case has not even been
seen before. We don't know if he's
psycho or-

                       MR. ESPORITO
      (angrily)
Sir, you will not call my son
"psycho" or else I will sue.

                       MR. CAROLE
Well, his behavior is somehow
psychotic, and not very natural,
and not even our security guards
are ready to handle this type of
behavior from a brain-dead child,
and-

In a jolt of anger, Mr. Esporito jolts from his seat, and
begins to assault Mr. Carole. Both struggle, as Mrs.
Esporito screams at both of them to stop fighting. The two
deans, Ms. Hardy and Mr. Argon, try to get them both off
each other. As they are pulled off each other, Mr. Carole
being angrier than ever.

                       MR. CAROLE
      (to the deans)
You two, I want these two off the
premises right now! I want them
off the fuckin' premises!

Mr. and Mrs. Esporito leave the office, with Mrs. Esporito
crying, shocked to see what she had seen.

INT. DR. ANTHONY'S ENGLISH CLASSROOM - DAY

Junior students are busy doing group assignments, until the
intercom sounds.

18.

                       INTERCOM (V.O.)
Bree Corvin, please report to the
front office. Bree Corvin, please
report to the front office,
immediately.

                       NICK
You in trouble or something?

                       BREE
I don't know at all.
(then, to DR. ANTHONY)
Doctor, can I please be asked to
go to the office?

                       DR. ANTHONY
Okay, but remember to grab your
stuff.

Bree leaves the classroom, taking her stuff. As she makes
her way out and

INTO THE HALLWAY

She continues to walk through classroom after classroom, the
hallway being empty.

INT. FRONT OFFICE - DAY

Bree enters.

                       MR. JERSEY
Ma'am, we have been expecting you.
Mr. Argon will be upstairs, down
the last room.

                       BREE
Last room in the upper hallway?

                       MR. JERSEY
That's where Mr. Argon is, yes.

Bree makes her way up the stairs above the receptonist, down
the hall, and where the last room is, entering

MR. ARGON'S OFFICE

                       MR. ARGON
Bree, have a seat.

Bree takes a seat on one of the two chairs in the office.

19.

                       BREE
What's going on here?

                       MR. ARGON
We didn't want to go through this
procedure before, but our
administration is asking if you
could help us with a surveillance
operation.

                       BREE
What the hell do you mean,
surveillance?

                       MR. ARGON
We didn't want to tell anyone
about this earlier, but there is a
student with some sort of...
(pauses)
outburst problem.

                       BREE
I don't have time for this..

As Bree is about to get up, Mr, Argon stops her.

                       MR. ARGON
Ma'am, it's best that you sit back
down.

Hesitating, Bree sits back down.

                       MR. ARGON
Look, I know that you don't want
to get involved in situations like
this, but we really need your help
here.

                       BREE
What does this shit have to do
with me?

                       MR. ARGON
You're the last option we have. We
tried to ask other students, but
each student, a turndown. And no,
this is no lottery selection.

                       BREE
Yeah, but for a surveillance
operation on one student, isn't
that absurd?

20.

                       MR. ARGON
Did you hear of the violent
outbursts going on?

                       BREE
Morgan and I had to take Jade in
the office, to see you because of
that, but-

Bree is cut off.

                       MR. ARGON
Bree, this is a very severe issue
affecting our school, and yes,
events like this never really
happen at all, so since you're the
only suitable one to help with
this-

                       BREE
My question: Why didn't you just
ask a teacher to do this? Why a
student?

                       MR. ARGON
      (uneasily)
As I said before, we asked every
single student. I mean, more than
400+ people for this job, and-

                       BREE
I meant, teacher.

                       MR. ARGON
The teachers need to teach, and
we're not going to just rip them
off by keeping an eye on one
student. Besides, security's also
busy, too.

                       BREE
What about my studies? My
homework?

                       MR. ARGON
We don't want any teachers to get
involved with this, neither do we
want the headmaster involved.
About your homework, we're gonna
need to ask the headmaster to tell
your teachers that you're on
in-school suspension by the

office, and have to do work with
us.

                       BREE
      (angrily)
Wait, you're putting me on
in-school suspension??! For
what??!!!

                       MR. ARGON
      (calmly)
Now, I never said that you're
going to be suspended. I only said
that we will deliver this note so
that the teachers will not
interfere. Of course, if you want
other students to help with this,
you can.

                       BREE
Then how will I get my homework
done?

                       MR. ARGON
We will deal with "homework"
later. The good thing is that this
is only a few-week long operation.

                       BREE
What do you mean by, a "few
weeks"?

                       MR. ARGON
Five.

Bree takes a moment to think. She then approves.

                       BREE
Okay then...
(looks at Mr. Argon)
What do you want me to do here?

                       MR. ARGON
I have seen youor skills as a
cameraman, so we're wanting to put
you in charge of the camera
control area, located in our
basement.

                       BREE
Where at?

22.

                       MR. ARGON
I'll call you tomorrow, to show
you where you will be. Otherwise,
go back to your class.

EXT. LADENT FIELD - DAY

It is after school. Students are dismissed to go home, and
some are talking of other matters. Marissa is seen, speaking
with Bree, while walking on the field.

                       MARISSA
You really have been to Palm
Springs?

                       BREE
I don't know at all. Besides, I've
never seen what the fucking place
looked like. I've only heard that
you get suntans just by going.

                       MARISSA
      (exclaming)
Shit, how can you not see its
atmosphere? Besides, it's also a
great place for a vacation!

                       BREE
Never will. Besides, I've got
homework.

                       MARISSA
Look, sometimes, you gotta, at
least, stop trying to slack off a
lot and, like, take some sort of
vacation. I mean, some relaxation
from work. I know about your
stress.

                       BREE
Don't you gotta live with the
person first? I don't think you
even know how much stress comes in
per pint of sugar.

                       MARISSA
Artifical shit, Bree. Artificial
shit.

23.

                       BREE
Do you even know any fuckin'
difference between artifical
slacking and actual slacking?

                       MARISSA
Isn't one like, playing pretend?

                       BREE
Pretend schmetend. Like, you don't
do your homework...

                       MARISSA
Didn't I already tell you about
the "core understanding" problem?

                       BREE
No, tell me.

                       MARISSA
No, you already heard the shitty
story. No reason for me to tell it
again.

Both stop walking. Bree takes a sigh.

                       BREE
Okay, so I've been studying a bit
too much very lately. I mean,
shit, it's not like that I'm
waiting for the opprotunity to
come. I've been through vacations
like this before, some were good,
and some were shitty, but did you
ever hear of "not being too late
to take the 'best vacation of your
life'"?

                       MARISSA
Look, we're juniors. And don't you
have your driver's license?

                       BREE
I'm not allowed to actually drive.
Yet.

                       MARISSA
Oh, you'll get the chance one day.

INT. JADE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

Jade is seen, doing his homework. Mr. Esporito calls Jade
downstairs for dinner.

                       JADE
One moment, Dad!

Jade gets up from his seat, and heads out of his room,
walking downstairs, and into

THE DINING ROOM

where his parents are already eating. He takes a seat on one
of the chairs.

                       JADE
How was work?

                       MRS. ESPORITO
We had a talk with the headmaster.

                       JADE
All day? Did I do something wrong?

                       MR. ESPORITO
No, look, you're not in trouble
for anything.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
Besides, I think your headmaster
mentioned you very meanly about
your "violent outbursts".

                       JADE
Outbursts?

                       MR. ESPORITO
We know that you're not a bad kid,
and all, but we did hear that you
have gotten into several fights
lately. Not like, starting fights,
but I mean by randomly screaming
and all that stuff.

                       JADE
I don't rember doing anything
"violent" lately, though.

25.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
The office was just talking about
it earlier. They also did give us
reports on those incidents.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Do you have anything to say about
that?

                       JADE
Look, I did say that-

                       MR. ESPORITO
Jade, you do not tell an elder
person to look, do you?

                       JADE
No.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Okay. Now I did ask you if you had
anything to say, regarding the
incidents.

                       JADE
Not really, no.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Okay, then.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
Jade, is there anyone bothering
you? Like, giving you a hard time?
I mean, if you have these
problems, you can always come talk
to us. I've seen you come in
almost every day, each with the
same feeling over and over, and we
just want to know what really is-

                       JADE
      (shouting)
I don't know what the hell is
happening! I just don't know at
all!

Silence.

                       JADE (cont'd)
Can you please excuse me?

Jade leaves the dining room. Mr. and Mrs. Esporito are
sitting there, stunned.

BACK IN THE BEDROOM

Jade sits in his bed, thinking. He still does not feel
great.

C) teardrop falls on floor.

Later, Jade tucks himself into bed, trying not to think
about the conversation that occured earlier. He clutches his
alarm clock beside him, hoping the next morning will come.

INT. LADENT BASEMENT - DAY

Bree makes it down a flight of stairs, until she comes by a
door, located on the

THIRD FLOOR

and opens the door. The door opens, and she begins to see a
television-production like control center, filled with
controls, more controls, and screens, showing surveillance
of the entire school, including the hallway, bathrooms,
classrooms, its library, and even the ASB office. She is
amazed of all these gadgets, and takes a seat at the control
area, which houses a black-and-white, high quality screen,
which observes activities in the hallway. She hears the
intercom, and Mr. Argon is communicating with her.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
      (on the intercom)
Okay, do you know where your
headset will be?

Bree presses a button on its control area to talk.

                       BREE
      (talking on a
       mounted
       microphone)
What headset?

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Look in your pocket.

27.

Touching her own right pocket, she pulls out a small,
portable headset, that's used to communicate with the
office.

                       BREE
      (on the microphone)
You put a headset in my pocket?

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Didn't the guard give you one? Put
the thing on, and let's get to
work.

Bree sets the headset on her right ear, and takes a seat on
the control area. She then adjusts the camera settings, and
sets the brightness, and switches the camera mode to RECORD.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
      (now communicating
       in Bree's ear)
Okay, the camera should be set.
Now switch the camera location to
LIBRARY.

Bree switches the camera location, and what comes up on the
screen is a live camera feed of the school library.

                       BREE
I got the school library right
here...

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Is Jade in there?

                       BREE
Using one of those computers, sir.

INT. LADENT SCHOOL LIBRARY - DAY

Jade is seen, typing up a report for his English class.
Right next to him is JASMINE, a light-blonde haired girl in
his Spanish class.

                       JASMINE
What is that?

                       JADE
English. I really hate that shit.

                       JASMINE
Why, the niggas who made engrish
give you the creeps?

28.

Jade turns to Jasmine.

                       JADE
The only reason is that there's
nothing very exciting. All it is
is this, that, this, that, then
more of this and more of that,
then after that, then there's
this...

                       JASMINE
Well, is that a real problem?

                       JADE
The process is just plain annoying
as hell, that's all.

                       JASMINE
It really isn't a good idea to
underestimate it, thinking it's
boring. You end up failing in the
end.

                       JADE
I would prefer seeing it now, than
never.

                       JASMINE
Now, than never may not even sound
like a great idea. Ever heard of
that?

Kenny enters, taking a seat next to Jade, on the right,

                       JASMINE
Who the hell is that?

                       JADE
Classmate from Bio.

INT. ANATOMY CLASSROOM - DAY

DR. RODALL, the Anatomy teacher, is taking roll.

                       DR. RODALL
Is there anyone not here today?

                       RANDY
All I heard was that Bree was in
in-school suspension for a while.

29.

                       DR. RODALL
What did she do?

                       RANDY
The office didn't comment at
all...

                       DR. RODALL
Allright... So then, do you know
when she'll be back?

                       RANDY
I'm the wrong person to ask.

INT. 3RD FLOOR BASEMENT CONROL ROOM - DAY

As Bree is doing surveillance, her cell phone rings. She
digs into her left pocket to answer it.

                       BREE
Dude, I'm busy with surveillance.

Her friend, KENDALL, a senior, is there.

                       KENDALL
Surveillance? What the hell is
that?

As soon as she realizes that Kendall is on the phone, Bree
is overjoyed.

                       BREE
      (happy)
Kendall! How's life going?

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Not a lot of shit going on, but
everything's chill. My sister
recently had her birthday party.

                       BREE
Well, that's cool.

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Yeah, but... We haven't seen you
around lately. Something about
"in-school suspension"?

                       BREE
      (suspicious)
How did you know about it?

30.

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
I mean, like, we've never really
seen you around at all. Not often,
really.

                       BREE
      (sarcastically)
Well, that's too bad.

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Look, I'm just wondering if-

Bree pauses for a moment.

                       BREE
Can I get back to you later?

Before Kendall can say anything, Bree hangs up her cell
phone, and returns her view to the TV screen-camera. She
then sees that Jade has gotten into a fight with another
student, at the library.

                       BREE
      (to herself)
Shit!

At that moment, Bree leaves the control room for the
library.

IN THE LIBRARY

Jade and another student have a fistfight. Jade grabs the
student's neck and smashes his head on a window. The student
falls, then he is kicked brutally in the face. Before Jade
can even grab the other student, Bree runs in, pulling Jade
away from him, and the library. Other students are seen,
screaming and hollering for the fight to stop.

OUTSIDE, IN THE COUTRYARD

Bree is seen, lashing angrilly at Jade.

                       BREE
Jade, what the fuck is this?

                       JADE
The prick called me a
"transvestite", and said some
lashing shit about my mom.

31.

                       BREE
      (angrily)
Is that a fucking reason to open
him up? Huh?

                       JADE
Well, what the fuck do you expect,
huh? You expect me to-
(mockingly)
-"go on with my life and accept
the fact that stick and stones
clog pores, but we're all immune
to names"??? Ever heard of being
called a fuckin' "nigger" in front
of others?

                       BREE
Look, if you did not know at all,
even though I don't want to talk
to you, I'm starting to see that
you've been acting like a crazed
fuck lately.

                       JADE
Any example to that, bitch? Huh???

Bree slaps Jade, and then both of them get into a violent
fistfight. Bree grabs Jade's neck, and while Jade runs,
trying to let go of her grip, Bree hangs on dearly for life.
Finally, she is brought down, being kicked in the face.
Through this, several students suddenly come out, and try to
pull Jade off Bree. Jade is taken away, back into the front
office.

IN THE SCHOOL HALLWAY

Bree and Nick are seen, talking.

                       NICK
So, that's what happened?

                       BREE
He was fucking all over the place.
No control for his behavior, no
good reason for brutally fucking
up some other student, but he was
just crazed.

                       NICK
How's your eye?

32.

                       BREE
It doesn't look too fine at all.
It burns.

                       NICK
Shit.

Morgan walks to where Bree and Nick are talking.

                       MORGAN
Your eye alright?

                       BREE
It's so black that it's fuckin'
distorted when I see something.
Like, fuckin' 60-20 vision.

                       MORGAN
Who would fuck you up like that?

                       BREE
Some guy named Jade, that the
office is doing some "surveillance
shit" on.

INT. MR. ARGON'S OFFICE - DAY

Bree enters. Mr. Argon is seen, sitting down at his desk.
The first thing he notices is her black eye, after being
kicked.

                       MR. ARGON
How's your eye?

                       BREE
You can tell by looking at it.

                       MR. ARGON
Well, you did a good job yesterday
with the swarming in, but, it's
impossible that-

                       BREE
Yeah, I know. That a student would
actually fuck up a surveillance
persona.
(slyly)
Well, isn't that a bit common?

                       MR. ARGON
Well, no, I mean, it sometimes
happens with other angry students,
            (MORE)

33.

                       MR. ARGON (cont'd)
but... this type of situation...
from what you discovered about his
anger, it may not be the sudden
stuff going on, it's probably
tension.

                       BREE
Thing is that you put me in charge
of the basement camera, and all
the shit that-

                       MR. ARGON
Sorry to cut you off, but you did
read the Ladent handbook about
"Language", didn't you?

                       BREE
Mistake, then. What I did mean to
say is: How exactly do you know
about his behavior? Like, you have
a camera in your office...

                       MR. ARGON
Yeah, if you look to your right,
there is also a TV-like screen,
like yours, in this very room.
Mounted on the wall.

Bree looks to the top right, and sees a television, like
hers at the control room.

                       BREE
What's its function?

                       MR. ARGON
The only reason this television
here is not a security one is
because, in every dean's room, a
TV like this is only able to
recieve daily announcements,
referring to their TV program.

                       BREE
There really is one of those
programs? I don't keep track.

                       MR. ARGON
It's best you do. Now, before you
go back to your post, can you
fetch Ms. Hardy for me?

34.

EXT. COURTYARD - DAY

Leslie and Marissa are seen, discussing school.

                       MARISSA
You didn't happen to fail that
chemistry exam, did you?

                       LESLIE
It was a fuckin' C. I would call
that failure.

                       MARISSA
If I were you, I wouldn't be stuck
in Honors Chemistry.

                       LESLIE
There a reason for you to even
open your trap about "you being in
regular Bio"? Besides, what the
hell do you even think when trying
to get held back in several
subjects, except for English?

                       MARISSA
      (uneasily)
What part of "core understanding"
do you not understand?!

                       LESLIE
Look, I don't understand the
"core" part. Money purposes,
maybe.

AT ANOTHER TABLE

Jade sits quietly, reading "Monster", one of his favorite
books. Alex, his Spanish classmate, approaches the table.

                       ALEX
How long were you reading that
shit?

                       JADE
I don't get a lot of time to read,
sadly. Besides, just look at the
screenplay style.

                       ALEX
You're not the only one in this
goddamn planet who reads these
novels...

35.

                       JADE
I never said anything about that,
did I?

Josh is seen, at a nearby table, readying his trading cards.

                       JOSH
      (shouting, from
       his table)
Yo, Alex! I've got cards!

                       ALEX
      (loudly, to Josh)
Give me a fuckin' moment, bitch!
(returns to Jade)
Look, I know that you don't have
time to read because of homework,
but what I'm trying to explain to
you that I didn't say to you
earlier is that you gotta stop
acting like an angry fuck every
time. You're scaring people like
that.

                       JADE
The "people" hate me already. What
they all care about is trying to
stay far away from me. Ever heard
of ostracism?

                       ALEX
I did hear of ostracism in earlier
times, but for banishing and
avoiding any communication with
that person is somehow pointless,
because you'll still-

                       JADE
That's my point. I know that you
can't expect someone to stay away
from somebody forever, but, from
what I'm going through among other
people, it's like...
(now uneasily)
...i'm not human... It's like I
prefer being made fun of rather
than ostracism.

                       ALEX
Isn't being made fun of worse?

36.

                       JADE
It's 20 times better than
ostracism. If the whole school
does it, then how the hell do you
expect to go to college?
(sighs)
That's why I would prefer being
the object of ridicule. Besides,
everyone loves a good laugh.

                       JOSH (O.S.)
      (from the other
       table, to Alex)
Will you hurry the fuck up? I'm
not gonna be here much longer!

INT. 3RD FLOOR BASEMENT CONTROL ROOM - DAY

Bree continuously stares at the screen, waiting for another
incident to happen. Bree recieves a transmission from Mr.
Argon, via headset.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
      (from the headset)
Anything new?

                       BREE
      (speaking into the
       headset)
Nothing yet. Everything's only
normal.

Bree then hears Mr. Argon hang up from the headset. She then
goes back to staring at the screen. As she stares, she then
pulls a paper from her pocket, and scribbles. When her cell
phone rings, she picks it up, opens it, and presses "End".

INT. ART CLASSROOM - NIGHT

It is hours after school, and MR. BROWN is working overtime,
grading papers. His phone rings, and he goes to answer it.
Mr. Argon is on the line, from his office, since he is also
working overtime.

INTERCUT - MR. ARGON AND MR. BROWN TALKING.

                       MR. BROWN
Yeah, you need something?

37.

                       MR. ARGON
No, I wanted to ask you a
question.

                       MR. BROWN
Yeah, I'm here.

                       MR. ARGON
I know that you might not like
this, but we, here, are working on
a "surveillance operation" on one
particular student.

                       MR. BROWN
Name?

                       MR. ARGON
Jade Esporito, a freshman.

                       MR. BROWN
Yeah, and?

                       MR. ARGON
Do you know him?

                       MR. BROWN
He's only in one of my art
classes, 4th Period. A good
student, never talks back, unlike
my other students, but does have a
very bad temper, from what I have
seen lately.

                       MR. ARGON
The outbursts, exactly. How often?

                       MR. BROWN
The good thing is that, they don't
happen too frequently. Like, only
rarely. That's all I know.

                       MR. ARGON
Okay, then. There's a student who
decided to help with this
surveillance-

                       MR. BROWN
Look, I'm an art teacher. You know
that I teach art, right?

                       MR. ARGON
I already knew that. But, what I'm
saying is that-

38.

                       MR. BROWN
You want me to sacrifice what I
love to do just so you can get
more people for this ridiculous
"surveillance operation". But, for
what purpose? We got security
cameras all over the school. Not
like, in the classrooms, but...

                       MR. ARGON
But, what?

                       MR. BROWN
We have enough around our school,
I can assure you. Also, we got
security. Is there any point to
this, whatsoever?

                       MR. ARGON
I'm not saying to you, "Hey, let's
waste our jobs so we can bully
this kid!", sir. I'm saying that
the reason why this surveillance
operation is needed is for the
protection of other students from
further danger, because I'm
starting to get info that his
anger is random.

                       MR. BROWN
      (annoyed)
Sir, it's best that you just get
some sleep. This is ridiculous.

                       MR. ARGON
Wait, I'm not-

Mr. Brown hangs the phone up. He then checks in his desk for
a paper. He picks up the paper from under his desk, then
throws it away. Afterwards, he packs his stuff and leaves
the classroom.

EXT. ASB ROOM - DAY

Kendall, and Megan, two ASB officers, are busy working the
cash register, and selling miscellaneous things: food and
drinks.

                       MEGAN
How's the life coming as a senior?

39.

                       KENDALL
Let me guess, homework, homework,
homework. Nothing even that close
to exciting whatsoever.

                       MEGAN
Well, that's too bad. Didn't you
go out to do something exciting
lately?

                       KENDALL
Did you ever hear of the slogan,
"all work and no play"? Besides,
the weekends mean more labor.

                       MEGAN
The hell is that?

                       KENDALL
Something about hard time.
Everything work. Especially if
you're not even grounded...

A knock on the window. Jade.

                       KENDALL
      (to Jade)
Yeah, can we help you?

                       MEGAN
      (to Jade)
Hurry up, we don't have all day.

                       JADE
You guys have any noodles?

                       MEGAN
One buck.

HIP-HOP MONTAGE - PAYING FOR FOOD

A) Dollar handed to person

B) Noodles cooking in oven

C) Noodles handed to customer

Jade then takes a look at the noodles, and finds that there
is no chicken. He then looks back at the two officers.

                       JADE
I thought this was chicken.

40.

                       KENDALL
That's the only flavor we have.
Take it or otherwise, leave.

Jade leaves, in disgust. On his way to

THE HALLWAY

Jade is then bumped by Josh, who abruptly pushes him down.

                       JOSH
Prick, why don't you watch where
you're goin' next time?

Jade then gets up, angered than ever that his noodles were
spilled. At that moment, Jade remains silent.

                       JOSH
      (teasing)
What's the matter? Cat got your
tongue? Or are you on fuckin'-

Before he can finish his sentence, Josh is abruptly cut off
by a punch to the face. He stumbles, angered, and then
punches Jade. Then, they start pushing and wrestling each
other, partly exchanging punches. The fight then breaks

INTO THE HALLWAY

when Jade is pushed through the door, falling. As Josh tries
to make a kick, Jade dodges out of the way, slide-kicking
Josh to the ground. Josh hits the ground, head-first. A
bump, then blood forms on his forehead, as Jade tries to get
up. Jade then proceeds to kick Josh in the stomach, but Josh
grabs Jade's leg and swings it to the left, making Jade lose
his balance. Josh then gets up, and proceeds beating Jade in
the face while he is on the floor 6 times, but on the
seventh, Jade catches Josh's fist, then his shoulder, and
pushes him away. Jade finally gets up, trying to get away
from Josh, but when Josh abruptly gets up, it leads to a
chase through a part of the hallway, and into

41.

THE BACK OF THE SCHOOL

as while Jade is running, Josh succeeds in grabbing Jade's
leg, knocking Jade down, but he is freed of Josh's grip as
he preceds running. Jade is finally punched in the back of
his head, and then falls. Josh stands above him, kicking
him. Several other students run to where the fight is taking
place now, and sees Josh, screaming at everybody, while
everyone screams at him, when Jade crawls his way to find a
sort of melee weapon, but Josh steps on his back, and Jade
is still down. He continues his attention to the other
students, screaming, saying that this is an ostracized kid
who deserves to be hurt, but suddenly, Jade grabs an iron
pipe from a floor, gets up, and from behind, he brutally
swings at Josh's head, damaging Josh's head as he falls to
the floor, face first. Jade then brings the pipe up and
thrusts the pipe down, beating Josh, as students tackle
Jade, grabbing the iron pipe, as Jade is forced and pushed
out of the alleys.

INT. MS. HARDY'S OFFICE - DAY

It's after school, and Ms. Hardy is speaking with Jade and
his parents, describing the incident that took place
earlier.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
      (to Ms. Hardy,
       angrily)
What the hell do you mean, an
"iron pipe"??

                       MS. HARDY
That was what one of our students
was beat with. Hit in the head.

                       MR. ESPORITO
      (angrily)
Well, is there any type of reason,
Jade?

Like usual, Jade remains silent.

                       MS. HARDY
      (quietly, to Mrs.
       Esporito)
He's silent, like when he always-

                       MRS. ESPORITO
Ma'am, we need time. Just don't
pressure him, please.

42.

Attention is turned back to Jade and Mr. Esporito.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Well?

Jade finally speaks out.

                       JADE
Shoved me to the ground. Called me
a "prick". No choice at all. I
don't even know why he went dead.

                       MS. HARDY
Lucky for you, and your parents,
he's unconscious.

                       MR. ESPORITO
What hospital?

                       MS. HARDY
Private info. All we know is that
he is in medical care. Comatose.

                       JADE
Comatose?

                       MR. ESPORITO
It's like, when your brain is
knocked out, but you're still
alive. Like being dead for a few
days.

                       MS. HARDY
Sir, are you guys done?

                       MR. ESPORITO
Ma'am, I was just explaining a
coma to him. Now, what were you
going to say?

                       MS. HARDY
Well, since the actions of
brutally assaulting another
student are a Level III
infraction, maybe it should be a
cause for expulsion, we think
that-

                       JADE
The kid pushed me down, and tried
to fuck-

43.

                       MS. HARDY
Sir, it's best you watch your tone
around me, and any other dean
and/or official.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
What's the consequences?

                       MS. HARDY
Well, originally, I would say
expulsion... Because...
(turns to Jade)
...You know our rules, and our
administration and other students
here at Ladent must abide by them,
since we have a zero-tolerance
code. Now, since expulsion would
be too harsh...

Bree enters, carrying papers.

                       BREE
Mr. Argon told me to deliver
these...
(turns to Mr. Esporito)
...this is your son, sir?

                       MR. ESPORITO
Well, yes.

                       BREE
Are you, in any way, aware of his-

Static on her headset. Mr. Argon on the headset.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Bree, you know this is
surveillance! Do not give out any
damn info! I repeat, do not!

                       MS. HARDY
What is this?

                       BREE
Look, this is only a joke at
best... I mean, it's not like...

                       MRS. ESPORITO
What's with that headset?

44.

                       BREE
      (nervously, trying
       to be happy)
Oh, look, it's just some fancy
thing the ASB is doing... You know
it's headset week!

                       MS. HARDY
I don't think I said something
about a headset week...

                       BREE
Well, the week just popped up as
if it were out of nowhere, and...

                       MS. HARDY
Do you know where Mr. Argon is?

                       BREE
Sorry, I don't know.

Mr. Esporito, Ms. Hardy, and Mrs. Esporito continue to look
puzzled.

                       MS. HARDY
Okay, but if you see him, tell him
I need to have a word with him.

                       BREE
I'll do that, then. You people
have a good day.

Bree gives Jade a suspicious look, and then leaves. Jade is
seen, puzzled.

IN THE OFFICE HALLWAY

Bree makes her way down the stairs, relieved. Another
transmission from Mr. Argon.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Well, that was a close call. Good
thing the "headset week" trick
came in...

                       BREE
Problem is that, she probably is
very suspicious about the matter.
Wants a word with you.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Yes, but do not tell anyone about
the matter. It'll blow our cover.

45.

                       MR. ARGON (cont'd)
And that's the last thing anyone
needs, isn't it?

                       BREE
      (hesitatingly)
Well, if you say so. I'm not
really one of those control-freak
decision people.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Whatever the matter. Since it's
after school, you should be done
for the day. Keep your headset
well, and get a drink or some
sort.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

Kendall and Morgan, talking.

                       MORGAN
Do you know how long Josh is gonna
be in the hospital?

                       KENDALL
The people didn't give details.
Almost no one talked about it
whatsoever. Truly, I'm not very
surprised, either.

                       MORGAN
I can tell that a few are. Me, I'm
a bit shocked. Like, not
scary-movie shocked.

                       KENDALL
Yeah, we all know Josh is a nice
person, but...

Kendall lowers his tone of voice, while he pauses.

                       MORGAN
But what? Are you not going to say
anything at all? You're just going
to keep-

                       KENDALL
      (abruptly)
Can I get a moment?! Sorry, but we
all need time to think a few
notches.

46.

                       MORGAN
Take a chill pill or something,
it's not like Josh is dead or
anything...

                       KENDALL
Isn't a coma like being dead?!
Besides, if you were in one, you
wouldn't know until after.

                       MORGAN
I'm not saying, "I don't know what
a coma is". I'm only saying that
it's only a few day-

                       KENDALL
As I said, we do not know when
he'll wake up. Last time I was in
that state, I thought I was in
heaven.

                       MORGAN
But you're stuck in earth like the
rest of us. Even I don't expect
"The Second Coming" to come now or
tomorrow.

                       KENDALL
I only said, "thought I was in
heaven". For God's sake, you're an
AP student. Study some religion or
something.

INT. JADE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

Jade digs into his closet, and pulls out a novel to read,
while he tries not to think about what happened earlier
today. He sits on his bed, and browses through the novel
carelessly, looking for a climax. As he browses, he realizes
that to find the climax, like he learned in English, he must
go back to square one, then start from scratch like everyone
else. Jade takes glances at the ceiling, and looks around
his room, and suddenly, he puts his novel down, and sits
calmly, having a daydream.

DAYDREAM - LADENT HALLWAY

Jade drifts from his art classroom, after a good day, and
finds a group of juniors, talking, crowded next to a locker.
Jade walks to where they are, and realizes that the same
group of juniors, Marissa, Josh, Bree, Nick, Megan,
sophomore Leslie, and Randy crowd the place, talking.

47.

                       JADE
Are you people for real?

Juniors stop. They turn their attention to Jade.

                       RANDY
Do I know you, sir?

                       JOSH
      (to Randy)
You really shouldn't talk to him.
Besides, he's so annoying to the
point that I almost feel sorry for
him.
(turns to Jade)
What are you even doing here,
anyway?

                       JADE
      (puzzled)
I don't remember knowing you, do
I?

                       BREE
Are you still on us, you prick?!

                       LESLIE
Like you've got something better
to do?

                       JADE
      (still puzzled)
What does that mean?

                       BREE
Didn't I scare him off earlier?

                       JOSH
We all did. Besides, Jade, you've
been ostracized by your own school
and friends. Why do you still have
to talk to us, or any other
people?

                       MARISSA
The prick's face gives me the
creeps, Josh. If not the
annoyances.

                       JADE
What the hell is this?

48.

                       JOSH
Will you get your head off your
ass for one goddamn minute and
face the facts! Those outbursts
you've been having are getting so
prevalent that no one here can
even find what even is the matter,
so do us all a favor, and stop
trying to be angry and just be
normal like everyone else.

                       BREE
Yeah, you heard him, now-

Bree is cut off by static in her headset. Mr. Argon's voice
comes in again.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
This is Mr. Argon again. Did you
already find your target? The one
we're doing surveillance on?

                       BREE
You mean, Jade?

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Is he in the same area you are?

                       BREE
He's right here.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Kill him.

As soon as Jade hears the words from Bree's headset, he
backs away, turns around, and tries to get far away from
them as possible. Suddenly, a sharp bang into his back, and-

END DAYDREAM

Jade, now in his bed, suddenly wakes up from his bad dream.
He checks his body, and there isn't any bullet holes. He
stares at the ceiling for two seconds, and heads back to
sleep.

INT. BIOLOGY CLASSROOM - DAY

Mrs. Sanders is giving back test results from the previous
test. Jade, nervous that he failed, talks with Kenny.

                       JADE
God hope that I did well here...

49.

                       KENNY
Dude, I didn't study for this,
either. Besides, it's not like
it's 80 percent of your grade or
anything...

                       JADE
They're mostly 100 questions per
test... That's why I hate 'em.

Jade recieves his paper. He is a bit nerved to see his
paper, as he got a 70 percent. Kenny gets an 79 percent.

                       JADE
      (bored tone)
Well, this is bogus.

                       KENNY
A 70 percent isn't really that
bad. Though an average is...

                       MRS. SANDERS
Both of you are not allowed to be
talking right now.

                       JADE
Sorry...

                       MRS. SANDERS
Yeah, don't be sorry. Don't do it
again, that's better.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

It's lunchtime, and students Jade and Kenny are crowded
along Jade's locker.

                       KENNY
Yo, man, you aware of some party
this coming weekend?

                       JADE
Last time I crashed one, I was
pummeled by flying hamburgers...
(chuckles)

                       KENNY
A junior party?

                       JADE
Yeah. Possibly some girl named
Bree was hosting it...

50.

                       KENNY
Oh, the angry one?

                       JADE
Easily annoyed, you can say.

                       KENNY
It's her friends that really piss
me off, though. Especially dwarf
bitch Marissa...

                       JADE
Marissa Sounder?

                       KENNY
Yeah.

                       JADE
What about her?

                       KENNY
She's having a party at some
place, I don't know where, but
that's all I know.

                       JADE
How do we get there?

                       KENNY
It's by passed invitations, so she
could either give you one or
don't, if she likes or hates you.

                       JADE
Always hated me from the
beginning. But I don't really care
for it.

                       KENNY
Just her boasting that pisses you
off, isn't it?

                       JADE
Mostly her repeating 800 fuckin'
times that does the trick. It's
been becoming total bullshit for
weeks now.

Marissa enters where Jade and Kenny are.

                       MARISSA
Hey, Kenny, would you like an
invitation?

51.

                       KENNY
Yeah, and one for him, too.

Marissa glares at Jade for a moment, then turns her
attention back to Kenny.

                       MARISSA
He's not getting one.

                       KENNY
Any reason for that? Besides, you
said it was an open party.

                       MARISSA
He just won't. We don't like him
at all.

                       KENNY
Well, you don't. It doesn't stop
me from doing so.

                       MARISSA
      (angrily)
Yeah, but look at him! Besides,
he'll annoy the friends, like he
did Bree!

                       JADE
Well, is that a reason to scream
up the top of your lungs for some
"incoherent" reason?

                       MARISSA
      (to Jade)
If Bree were here, she would!

INT. 3RD FLOOR BASEMENT CONTROL ROOM - DAY

Bree stares at the screen, now positioning to Jade with
Kenny, arguing with Marissa. Mr. Argon's transmission comes
in.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Anything going on down there?

                       BREE
Well, I did hear Marissa
mentioning about some sort of
weekend party lately...

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
We got cameras to keep an eye on
them, from almost all-

52.

                       BREE
Marissa didn't tell me about a
weekend party, and also, these are
school cameras we're using, so how
the hell can you put secret
cameras in parties?

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Since Jade has a habit of crashing
parties, go warn him not to crash
this one.

                       BREE
I'm not in charge of his life.
It's his own ass, not mine.

                       MR. ARGON (V.O.)
Yea, but think about the
disasterous consequences on the
day after!

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

Marissa, Jade, and Kenny, still arguing about the party.

                       KENNY
Ok, Marissa, if I'm going myself,
then when will the party be?

                       MARISSA
Like, Wednesday. I'm just warning
you not to-

                       KENNY
I know, I know. I'm not stupid.

Marissa leaves to pass out invitations.

                       JADE
How the hell will we both get in?

                       KENNY
Shit, depends on who's guardin'
the fuckin' door. Besides, do your
parents even allow you to go out
during the weekday?

INT. ESPORITO RESIDENCE - NIGHT

Jade and his parents discuss about next Wednesday.

53.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
Absolutely not! It's a school
night for God's sake! And do you
even know where it is?

                       JADE
The arcade next to us.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Yeah, but what about your
homework?

                       JADE
I can get to the homework,
earlier, like, immediately after
school.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
But, we have a meeting to go to on
that night. And I don't know if
they allow kids to even go to
meetings...

                       MR. ESPORITO
They don't. Last time I went with
Jade to a seminar, they wouldn't
let him in because of his age!

                       JADE
When was that?

                       MRS. ESPORITO
Light-years ago. You probably
don't remember.

                       MR. ESPORITO
Look, kiddo, what your mother is
trying to explain is that it's not
a good idea to go during the
weekday... I mean, it's really
unnatural, even for a child like
you...

                       JADE
But, I don't talk to strangers...
I don't cause a lot of trouble at
places...

                       MRS. ESPORITO
But it's a school night, and
you're a freshman. Only a
senseless one would hold a party
on Wednesday.

54.

                       MR. ESPORITO
We just need a bit of time,
alright? Or are you gonna go with
a friend?

                       JADE
A friend.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

Lunchtime again, and Jade is busy changing stuff in his
locker. Bree walks up to where he is.

                       BREE
Uhh.. hey.

                       JADE
You again. I thought you didn't
want anything to do with me.

                       BREE
Look, about what I said
previously, I wanted to say that-

                       JADE
Another story about ostracism?

                       BREE
Shit, no story here. I just came
by for two things. For one, to
apologize for what I said to you
previously, and the results of
what had happened...

                       JADE
      (uneasily)
Okay...
(beat)
...that I can forgive you for...

                       BREE
      (relieved)
Well, thanks, though.
(returns to normal state)
Secondly, It's best you don't go
with Kenny to the coming party on
Wednesday.

                       JADE
Wasn't it a weekend party?

55.

                       BREE
They wanted it earlier, for all I
know. Now hear this, the reason
you should not crash that party is
that...

                       JADE
Well?

                       BREE
...Marissa has a serious grudge
with you. I mean, hates you to a
core, somehow.

                       JADE
Well, I did notice that. And what
about your disciples?

                       BREE
They have grudges with you, too,
which is a reason they're gonna
check the whole place to see if
you're there, and if you are, they
won't just embarass you. They'll
do it in front of about 30-40
people, I expect. And they won't
use jokes.

                       JADE
I can always take an insult joke.

                       BREE
Yeah, but I know what they
humiliate people with, and trust
me, I've done this before to
party-crashers.

                       JADE
Well, you could've told me about
it earlier.

                       BREE
Yeah, but I have a job, too.
Full-time work.

                       JADE
      (sounding annoyed)
Just tell me its goddamn location.

                       BREE
Alright, the party's going to be
right next to where you live...
some arcade, maybe. If you're
            (MORE)

56.

                       BREE (cont'd)
gonna go there for a night, just
don't let Marissa see you there.
You also try to avoid trouble with
the others, because for some
strange reason, the damn place is
closed to everyone who's not a
party guest.

                       JADE
Time?

                       BREE
You find that info yourself.

EXT. INDU PLAZA PARKING LOT - NIGHT

A car pulls into the parking lot. Kenny drives while Jade
rides shotgun. Both of them exit the car and walk towards
the arcade.

                       JADE
You didn't tell me you had a
license...

                       KENNY
Driver's permit.

As soon as they get towards the door, they begin to walk
into

THE ARCADE

and they stop at the bar, to get quarters for arcade games.
A blonde cashier is at the counter.

                       CASHIER
How much?

                       KENNY
Two bags of ten-dollar quarters,
please?

HIP-HOP MONTAGE - ARCADE

A) Getting quarters

B) Getting drinks

C) Arcade bell

57.

IN THE PARTY ROOM

Marissa, and her friends Josh, Nick, Jasmine, Leslie, Alex,
Megan, Kendall, and Morgan eat pizza.

                       NICK
Marissa, did you really close this
place?

                       MARISSA
Of course I did. Not to let Jade
come in.

                       MORGAN
Yeah, what about Kenny?

                       MARISSA
He can come, as long as he doesn't
bring him in the picture.

                       JASMINE
Well, do you have some sort of
grudge with him?

                       NICK
I don't like him either, but I
don't find anything, in
particular, wrong with him... It's
not like he'll even need to
disturb us or anything...

                       JOSH
Nick, don't you know all the
trouble this kid is to us? He's
annoying as hell!

                       LESLIE
Well, Nick is making a point,
Josh. We can't just prevent other
people from going places. I mean,
they're people, too.

                       MARISSA
Yeah, but him being around pisses
me off. Especially in Spanish.

                       MEGAN
Nick's trying to make a point
here. We can't limit people's
freedoms. You know this is
America, right?

58.

                       JOSH
Yeah, but him in my life just
makes it worse. You know how long
I was in that coma!

                       MORGAN
We know we don't like him, but
you're just taking your grudge a
bit far.

                       JOSH
Well, what do you suggest we do?

                       NICK
Even though we don't like him, we
gotta stop ostracizing him from
other people. It's making him feel
broken.

                       MARISSA
But we want him to be broken. I
even want him out of my school!

                       KENDALL
Look, just stop trying to be angry
all the time at one person. I know
you've seen him, but you never
really "met" him at all.

                       JOSH
No, and we don't want to.

                       JASMINE
      (uneasily)
What the hell do you mean, "we"?

                       MARISSA
You're aware of him to be alone,
like he's supposed to, don't you?

                       JASMINE
Yeah, but this is not a team
effort here, man. You need to
stop-

                       MARISSA
Hey, freshie, I have some fucking
thing better for you to do. If you
don't like it, why don't you get
the fuck out? How 'bout that?

Jasmine begins to leave.

59.

                       JASMINE
Prick.

Then she leaves the room, and goes to where Jade and Kenny
are playing a game.

                       JADE
We didn't know you were here.

                       JASMINE
That's why I'm leaving. The bitch
has nothing better to do than to
surrender now. It really is best
that you go now.

                       KENNY
Reason?

                       JASMINE
I don't want her to see me here,
not with you fuckers. It's best we
go now before...

                       JADE
Before what? Nigger-fuckers will
surround the world?

                       JASMINE
Ever heard of the blunt truth?

At that moment, Jasmine leaves, angry. Jade and Kenny look
at each other, and go back to playing the game.

MEANWHILE...

Exiting the party room, Marissa and Josh, accompanied with
Leslie, Alex, Megan, Kendall, and Morgan, look to see where
Jade and Kenny are. After extensive search, they find both
of them, playing an arcade game. Both Marissa and Josh are
pissed off.

                       MARISSA
What the hell...??!!

                       JADE
      (whispering, to
       Kenny)
They found us, right?

                       KENNY
Well, look, they really won't
notice you in...

60.

Kenny suddenly stops, and both realize that Marissa and Josh
are standing above them, angry. Then, while the others stand
there, Jade and Kenny are dragged

OUTSIDE THE ARCADE

where they then are in the parking lot, being screamed at.

                       KENNY
      (angrily)
What the hell are you people
doing, you fuckin' on drugs or-

                       MARISSA
Shut the fuck up, prick! Traitor!

                       KENNY
Is that a real problem for you,
prick?

Josh kicks Kenny in the head. Kenny staggers and falls.

                       JOSH
      (calmly)
You betrayed us, Kenny.

                       KENNY
Okay, for what? For what?

                       MARISSA
I told you not to bring that
fuckin' douche in the arcade
tonight, and you backstabbed us!
You backstabbed us!

                       KENNY
Well, what the fuck do you see
wrong with hi-

                       MARISSA
SHUT UP! SHUT THE FUCKIN' HELL UP!
YOU..
(kicks Kenny in the chin)
...FUCKIN' BACKSTABBER!

                       KENNY
You want info? You want some
fuckin' info?

                       JOSH
No, we want to know why you
brought that annoying fuck in
here.

61.

                       KENNY
What's the matter? You can't play
fuckin' arcade games?!

                       JOSH
Yeah, you know better than to take
an ostracized freshman with you!

                       JADE
What the hell is this?

                       MARISSA
You want to know? You want to
fuckin' know?!

                       JADE
Well, give us a fuckin' newsflash
for God's sake!

                       MARISSA
Oh, I'll fuckin' give you and your
"friend" a newsflash! What the
fuck are you doing here?

                       KENNY
Is that really any of your fuckin'
business?

Kenny, while on the ground, is kicked by Josh, with force.

                       JOSH
Why don't you just shut up for
once.

                       KENNY
I have something better for you:
Go fuck yourself, ever heard of
that, bit-!

                       MARISSA
      (screaming)
SHUT UP! SHUT UP NOW!

The others come outside to see what is going on.

                       NICK
Dude, what the hell is this?

                       MARISSA
      (to Nick)
It's none of your business, Nick,
now get your ass back inside.

62.

                       ALEX
Hey, but-

                       JOSH
NOW!

The others go back inside.

                       MARISSA
Kenny, I want you out. You and
your friend, out.

                       JADE
Okay, time out, time out... Now,
what the hell is going on here?

                       MARISSA
      (angrily, to Jade)
You wanna know what's going on?
I'll tell you what's going on!
You! You're the one causing all
the problems to us! You're the
prick who I hate seeing at
Spanish! Can't you get a fuckin'
grip for one goddamn second? Our
school doesn't want you around,
because of your continuous
stalking!
(beat)
Everytime you're around campus,
you're always the trouble. Even if
it's in Spanish class, I always
hated your guts. I loathed seeing
you because you annoy everyone.
All your friends at school are
ostracizing you because YOU are
the problem. You're the one who's
bringing our school to a low
point, and I always wished you got
suspended! Without you in my
world, our lives would go on
cheerfully, and without anyone to
annoy us.

                       JADE
      (sadly)
Then, what the hell is this grudge
all about? I mean, it's okay not
to like me, but that doesn't mean,
go about and persuade others to
hate somebody... I mean, it's just
absurd.

63.

                       JOSH
Jade, do you even know anything
from your left and right? We're
trying to explain here that you're
one of the most annoying pricks
our school has ever seen in our
entire lives. I mean, can't you
just stop being annoying and just
be a human, or at least, be
yourself, for God's sake.

                       MARISSA
And besides, you need to
understand that we always hated
you, our school hates you, and
anyone you know even hates you.

Jade looks at them, almost crying.

                       MARISSA (cont'd)
Look at you, you're a fake! You
were always a fuckin' fake and
liar. Your attire, your-

                       KENNY
Who the hell are you people?

                       MARISSA
I wasn't talking to you, you
asshole. Besides, you need to
admit that no one wants him
around.

                       KENNY
Just leave him alone, man. The
reason why you people are pricks
is because you hate someone, but
you won't leave him alone.

                       JOSH
We're juniors, you goddamn prick.
I mean, look at him...

      (turns to Jade)
...You're so annoying that I can't
even look at you or speak to you.

                       JADE
Well, why the hell are you
speaking to me now, prick?

64.

                       JOSH
We're trying to explain to you
that you have been ostracized by
everyone you know, and you need to
just go somewhere outside our
world, and just die. Just, like,
die. Out of our lives. Now, if you
just be a human, will you see how
many friends you'll get? Will you
ever see???

Jade looks at them, silently, angered.

                       KENNY
      (to Jade)
Dude, don't listen to these
pricks. They're all wrong. They
were always wrong. You know you're
better than that.

                       MARISSA
You should just get out of his
life, like I told you to. I gave
you an order, and you have to
follow our rules.

                       KENNY
You're not the fuckin'
authorities, are you?

                       MARISSA
      (to Jade)
What are you gonna do, nigger? Are
you gonna...
      (mockingly)
...cry home to your prostitute
mommy and nigger daddy? Huh?

Jade stares, crying.

INT. ESPORITO RESIDENCE - NIGHT

Jade walks inside, crying. He walks upstairs to

THE MASTER BEDROOM

and walks inside his parents' restroom. Through the
restroom, he enters the dressing room, and opens his dad's
closet. There, a gun drops to Jade's side. Jade picks up the
gun and examines it. He then sees a small box, containing
ammo. He then picks up the ammo, and runs out of the
bedroom, into

65.

JADE'S BEDROOM

and gets his backpack from his closet. He did remember to
close his dad's closet, but that didn't worry him now, as he
sticks the gun and ammo into his backpack.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

Another regular morning, and we see Kenny, with Jasmine,
walking to class.

                       KENNY
I'm wondering where Jade is...
He's late... Probably bummed about
last night.

                       JASMINE
Don't worry about it... Marissa
turned out to be a real bitch,
anyway. To this moment, she's
still bragging about last night
and "how Jade deserves what he
got". It's bullshit.

                       KENNY
Well, I just hope that Jade
doesn't come in, angry as hell. I
hope he just forgets.

INT. 3RD FLOOR BASEMENT CONTROL ROOM - DAY

Bree is seen, staring at the screen once again. She recieves
another transmission from Mr. Argon.

INTERCUT - BREE AND MR. ARGON, TALKING.

                       MR. ARGON
You got any new info in there?

                       BREE
Well, shit, no. Besides, Jade's
not even here. Hasn't been here
for hours.

                       MR. ARGON
Usually is here early...

INT. COURTYARD - DAY

Jade glances into his bag, looking at the gun. The gun lies
between two of his books, Biology and Algebra. Several
bullets were already loaded into the gun when he first
obtained it, and now, he decides not to shoot now, since it
would blow his cover.

INT. 3RD FLOOR BASEMENT CONTROL ROOM - DAY

INTERCUT - BREE AND MR. ARGON TALKING.

                       MR. ARGON
Wait, switch to courtyard.

Bree switches to courtyard, on the monitor. Monitor displays
Jade sitting in one of the tables, with a bag.

                       BREE
He staring at his bag or
something?

                       MR. ARGON
Is that what it looks like?

                       BREE
Well, shit, sort of...

                       MR. ARGON
Zoom in.

Bree zooms in on Jade's location, showing a closeup of Jade
and the bag.

                       BREE
Yeah, he's staring at it.

INT. COURTYARD - DAY

Jade zips up the bag, mounts it on his bag, and heads out of
the courtyard, until he heads

IN THE HALLWAY

and walks to his locker, not wanting Josh and Marissa to see
him.

Josh, Marissa, Nick, and Kendall, crowded at Kendall's
locker.

67.

                       KENDALL
      (to Josh)
Dude, that was fucked up last
night.

                       JOSH
Well, we don't really care. He was
like that and always will be. He's
probably crying his eyes out...
      (chuckles)

                       NICK
Kendall's right. You really tried
to fuck their hearts up, and
that's one thing we don't
specialize with.

                       MARISSA
Relax, Nick. It's not like he's
gonna do anything. He's a fuckin'
freshman, for God's sake. They
don't do shit.

                       KENDALL
Well, you were once a freshman,
too.

                       MARISSA
Are you fuckin' kidding me? When
we were freshmen, we were always
on top!

                       NICK
Well, you and Josh need to "snap"
out of your "top" throne before
you cause more tension.

                       MARISSA
Isn't that my middle name?

We then move back to Jade, as he opens his locker, placing
his biology and algebra book into his locker. He closes his
locker, and walks

IN THE MEN'S BATHROOM

and walks into one of the bathroom stalls. There, checks the
ammo, and loads the gun.

                       MR. ARGON
You got a good shot in the
bathroom?

                       BREE
Which one?

                       MR. ARGON
Men's Bathroom. In the hallway.

                       BREE
School hallway, right?

                       MR. ARGON
Correct.

Bree switches the camera location to the Men's bathroom in
the hallway, and closes in on Jade in one of the restroom
stalls. She then sees Jade holding an object, a gun. When
she realizes this, Bree freezes, chills down her spine.

                       MR. ARGON
Update?

No answer from Bree.

                       MR. ARGON
Hello?

Still no answer.

                       MR. ARGON
Are you there? Answer me! Answer
me!

Still no answer from Bree, because she is disturbed. When
she zooms the camera in, she then sees a clear picture of
the gun being loaded.

Bree switches to the hallway, and then a video feed of Jade,
standing where Josh and Marissa are talking, is shown on the
screen.

                       BREE
He's got something behind his
back...
      (beat)
I don't know what he put there.

                       MR. ARGON
Well, can you get a closeup? Think
for once.

Bree then zooms the camera on Jade's back, and what's
clutched there.

                       BREE
Oh, fuck.

                       MR. ARGON
What?

                       BREE
I think I know what the hell he
really was doing in there...

                       MR. ARGON
What's on his goddamn back?

                       BREE
Looks a lot like a gun... I don't
know.

      (then screams)
THERE'S A FUCKIN' GUN ON HIS

Didn't we tell you to fuck off?
Fuck off!

                       MARISSA
Why the hell are you still talking

Jade remains silent. Marissa then becomes suspicious after a
moment.

                       MARISSA
      (suspicious)
What's on your back?

No answer.

                       JOSH
Someone just asked you a question,
did you not know that? Now, what's
on your back?

                       JADE
Why, you're addicted to my back,
now?

                       MARISSA
Will you just shut up and tell us
what's on your back?

Once again, Jade still remains silent.

                       JOSH
Jade, you reveal what's on your
back, or we'll make you reveal
what's on your back.

                       JADE
You really want to see it...?

                       MARISSA
Yes, we want to. Now show it to
us.

                       JOSH
Do it now.

                       JADE

                       BREE
Wait, hold up... Let me clarify.

Bree then looks at the screen again, to see Jade reveal the
object on his back: a pistol. After seeing this, Bree lets
out a "SHIT!!", and runs out of the control room, abruptly,
and later,

INTO THE COURTYARD

and runs her way into the school hallway, to stop Jade.

MEANWHILE, IN THE HALLWAY

Josh and Marissa are seen, laughing at Jade's gun.

                       JOSH
Dude, that thing's fuckin' fake.
Why don't you go die?

Jade is extremely tense-filled, as he now loads the gun
while aiming it at Josh.

                       MARISSA
      (chuckling)
Like, this is all fake. Just put
the gun down and just go fuck
yourself. You won't hurt us.

                       JOSH
      (calmly)
Paintball gun, maybe.

Scene shifts to Bree, bursting into the hallway.

                       BREE
      (screaming across
       the hallway)
JADE, WAIT! PUT THE FUCKIN' GUN
DOWN RIGHT NOW! PUT THE FUCKIN'
GUN DOWN NOW!

Scene shifts back to Josh and Marissa, taunting Bree, while
Josh is inches closer to death.

                       JADE
You know this shit's loaded,
right?

                       JOSH
There you go... Just as annoying
as usual.

                       JADE
Did you know that this is a live
gun you see here?

                       MARISSA
Oh, come on, you're always full
of-

Marissa suddenly pauses, suddenly realizing that the gun is
real, with Josh, still calm.

                       MARISSA
      (whispering to
       Josh)
Hey, Josh?

                       JOSH
      (whispering)
What now?

                       MARISSA
You didn't know that's a real
fucking gun, right?

                       JOSH
Well, he wouldn't be that stupid
to be carrying a gun into-

Josh freezes suddenly, and looks into the barrel of the gun,
and then, BAM! Josh's eye and brains are blown out, as he
falls, dead. As soon as the shot is heard, simultaneously,
every student in the hallway begins to run for cover, all
screaming. Marissa stands there, shocked to see what had
happened. Jade then aims the gun at Marissa.

73.

                       MARISSA
      (trembling)
Stupid son of a bitch, you're not
going to get away with that...
      (screaming)
YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET AWAY WITH-

BAM! Another shot to the head, and Marissa falls, dead.
Students simultaneously run, as Jade then kills two other
students. Both fall dead, as he runs out of the hallway,
shooting and wounding people. On his way out, he is ambushed
and tackled by an angry Bree, who tries to wrestle the gun
away from him. Shots begin to go all directions, the shots
wounding several other students. Bree then punches Jade in
the face, which causes Jade to drop the gun, but then she is
punched in the gut, and kicked in the face. She falls, and
Jade reclaims his gun from the floor, and heads

OUTSIDE THE HALLWAY, INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE SCHOOL

and begins shooting random targets. Two people fall dead,
and seven more get wounded, while running. He begins
running, shooting uncontrollably, wounding more students, on
his way

IN THE COURTYARD

and inside, he wounds more students with bullets, Kiely and
two other friends shot dead. Students are also seen, running
away from Jade, and the dead bodies. Windows are also shot,
and an ASB room window is shattered from the gun bullets.
While at it, three other students are shot simultaneously,
and then, Jade walks

INTO THE LIBRARY

opening its door, and he sees that everyone took cover
because they heard the shots outside. Kendall, Nick, and
Jasmine cover below the computers, while Jasmine is the only
one standing.

                       JASMINE
Jade, what the hell is going on
here?

Jade does not say anything.

                       NICK
      (from below a
       computer table)
Okay, look, we're all sorry for
what happened last-

74.

Jade shoots Nick in the leg. This makes Nick's head bump the
bottom of the table. Everyone screams, as everyone starts
screaming.

                       KENDALL
Dude, what the fuckin' hell is
this?! What the hell is this?!!!

                       JADE
      (screaming)
SHUT UP! ALL OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK
UP!

                       JASMINE
Tell us what the fuck this is all-

Jade shoots at the roof, and everyone screams.

MEANWHILE, IN THE HALLWAY

After unconsciousness, Bree finally staggers up, the hallway
now empty, and despite a black eye, Bree walks to where Josh
and Marissa were shot. Crying, she examines where they were
shot, and she suddenly realizes that both are instantly
dead. She sobs, and then, screaming, she breaks Josh's lock,
finding a Magnum.

Students in the library continue to scream.

                       NICK
Okay, look, we won't tell anyone
about this, just tell us where
Josh and Marissa are!

                       JADE
It's best I don't tell you.
Probably'll break your heart.

                       NICK
      (almost sobbing)
Just fuckin' tell us, already!!

75.

Everyone then screams in argument. Jade shoots another
bullet at the roof, and everyone calms down.

                       JADE
      (to everyone)
Okay, if you guys really don't
want any bad luck, it's sad to say
that those two pricks didn't make
it.

                       KENDALL
      (angry)
THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN, "THEY DIDN'T
MAKE IT"???!!

At that moment, Kendall charges at Jade, pissed off more
than ever, but he is then cut off by a shot to the gut. He
abruptly falls, wounded.

                       JADE
      (to Kendall)
Well, prick, as I said before,
they did not make it. Both of them
deserved what they all got...
      (aims the gun at
       Kendall's head)
...An eye for an eye. Nothing more
or less.

Kendall screams, about to die, but suddenly, Mr. Argon
bursts in, tackling Jade to the ground and wrestling for the
gun. Jade kicks Mr. Argon, but is then counter-attacked by a
punch to the face. Mr. Argon then throws Jade across an area
of the room, and, now in possession of the gun, he fires
shots across the room, as Jade runs, getting behind a
bookshelf, to take cover from the salvo of bullets. Running
out of ammo, Mr. Argon throws the gun across the small
library.

                       MR. ARGON
      (taunting)
Jade, you better come out of that
bookshelf, this instant! You have
been expelled from the Ladent
Preparatory Academy, at this
moment!

                       JADE
      (screaming)
Fuck you all! I hope you all burn
in hell for all I care!

76.

Another hail of bullets, and the next moment, Jade bursts
out the emergency exit of the library, and back

IN THE COURTYARD

running away from Mr. Argon and the shooting of bullets. Mr.
Argon chases Jade, while firing the gun multiple times,
through the courtyard, into the cafeteria, where a working
janitor is shot, and back

IN THE HALLWAY

which is now empty, and suddenly, Mr. Argon tackles Jade,
trying to turn him face down, but then, BAM! Mr. Argon is
shot in the appendix, and he falls, unconscious. Jade then
takes the gun on the floor, picks it up, and on his way to
the classroom, WHACK! A hit to the head, and Jade is slammed
next to a series of lockers. Recovering, he sees Bree, now
armed with a baseball bat found in her bag.

                       BREE
Drop the weapon.

                       JADE
Is there any reason for that,
bitch?

                       BREE
      (monotone)
No questions, Jade. Drop it now.

Jade struggles to get up, due to the impact of the baseball
bat. Bree then directly aims the head of the baseball bat at
him.

                       BREE
You don't wanna die a slow death,
do you?

                       JADE
Slow death...
      (chuckles)
It wouldn't be death whatsoever.

                       BREE
No, seriously. You really don't
want to die now.

77.

                       JADE
Bitch, about a few motherfuckers
are fucked by now, and you're
asking me if I don't want to die a
"slow death"? Now, isn't that
fucking weird?

                       BREE
Jade...
      (beat)
...do you know who you just killed
a few minutes earlier? The lives
you took?

                       JADE
"The lives I took, the lives I
took", it sounds shitty overrated
to hear about "taking a life".

                       BREE
Those were some of my best
friends' lives you took. They were
fuckin' with me til' the fuckin'
end. And now they're gone all
because of one stupid prick and
his fuckin'-

Jade then aims the gun at Bree, who suddenly stops talking,
after hearing a clicking sound.

                       JADE
Pricks all deserved to die. Don't
make me go for yours, bitch.

                       BREE
You sure you got any more ammo in
that?

Jade then fires, but all that came out was a clicking sound.
He checks the gun, and his pockets. He had no ammo left.

                       BREE
Exactly.

As Bree is about to swing the baseball bat, a loud sound on
the intercom. The POLICE.

                       POLICE
THIS IS THE ANAHEIM PD! WE ASK
THAT YOU DROP WHATEVER WEAPON YOU
HAVE IN YOUR HAND AND COME OUT
WITH YOUR HANDS UP! I REPEAT-

78.

Jade shoots the intercom, finally getting up, and takes off,
surprised that the police came into the school. Pursued by
Bree, Jade runs through the hallway, and into

THE BACK ALLEYS

while trying to avoid the baseball bat being swung. Running,
he trips on a rock, falls forehead first, and Bree hits Jade
with the bat numerous times, until a series of gunshots cuts
her off. She falls, wounded. Jade is also wounded, as he
tries to crawl his way out of the alleys, but what he begins
to realize is that the police were surrounding the entire
alleys, all with their guns out. Several of the police
officers surround Bree and Jade, aiming guns at them, from
different places: Jade, next to a wall in the hallways, and
Bree, lying on the concrete, wounded and crying.

                       JANIS
Let it not be a lame-ass finding
of your gun, because I know that
you lost it several damn times.

                       RODECK
Goddamn it, not one of those
shits. I was referring to a case.

                       JANIS
Which type?

                       RODECK
Nothing to do with courting, or
rape, like we usually cover. We're
talking kids here.

                       JANIS
No juvie case, please?

                       RODECK
Janis, is everything "Juvie" to
you?

79.

                       JANIS
Rodeck, I'm only saying "juvie
case" because we got too much
juveniles arrested for theft
lately.

                       RODECK
Well, we gotta lay off on the
juvenile shit, because next thing,
we're gonna turn into the "juvie
police".

INT. CAPTAIN KIRKLAND'S OFFICE - NIGHT

Janis and Rodeck enter, but suddenly stop, seeing CAPTAIN
KIRKLAND, their team counselor, reading up a report.

                       RODECK
The hell is that?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
The fuck do you think it is? A
blackmail?

                       JANIS
Just asking, not trying to fuck up
your night here.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Have a seat.

                       JANIS
A seat?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
I'm not gonna see you guys stand
there all goddamn night, now sit
down.

Both Janis and Rodeck take seats.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Now, do you guys want to know why
you were called here?

                       RODECK
Yeah, sure.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Okay, then.

Captain Kirkland passes the report he was reading to Janis.

80.

                       JANIS
A school shooting?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Two days ago.

                       RODECK
Casualties?

Captain Kirkland begins to angrily glare at them.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
      (glaring)
Thirteen people. Twelve of them
were students. One of them was a
teacher.

                       JANIS
Name?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Tahj Argon, age 42, a dean at
Ladent Prep.

                       RODECK
      (to Janis)
That was my teacher when I was a
senior there...

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
He taught you?

                       RODECK
A lot of students hated him
because of some crappy rumor about
him being involved with
"surveillance".

                       JANIS
      (to Rodeck)
How the hell does "surveillance"
make people hate others?

                       RODECK
Easy.

                       JANIS
The hell do you mean, "easy"?

                       RODECK
You just put a dead eye on one,
then the other, and then another.
Repeat more times.

81.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
What about names of students?

                       JANIS
Aren't they on the paper?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
They're not. All they describe is
"thirteen people", and that twelve
were students...
      (beat)
...or did you find any new info?

                       RODECK
Very little.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
The hell do you mean by "very
little"?

                       RODECK
Very little. No more or less.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Well, for God's sake, give me the
"very little info"! I haven't got
all fuckin' night!

For a brief moment, Janis and Rodeck look at each other, and
then see Captain Kirkland sniffing cocaine.

                       JANIS
About the info, we did, however,
see two students at the back of
the school, one of them...
confirmed to be the shooter... the
other one, a female... the ASB
President?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
That's it? Two kids with guns?

                       JANIS
No, one of them was confirmed to
be the lone shooter. The other one
was the school's ASB president we
accidentally shot.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Conditions?

82.

                       RODECK
The former, confirmed as the
shooter, was pronounced dead on
the way to the hospital, and the
other one's currently in a coma.
Expected to come out in a few
days.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
What about the parents?

                       RODECK
Of who? The shooter?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Correct.

                       JANIS
No info on them, whatso-

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
      (abruptly, to
       Janis)
Janis, I don't remember asking you
a fucking thing.
      (to Rodeck)
Do you have any info on the
shooter's parents?

                       RODECK
Last names are "Esporito"...
That's all I got.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
      (strictly)
Okay, then. This is a means for an
assignment for both of you. What
you both are going to do is fairly
easy: Get the names of the twelve
dead students, the shooter's first
name, the parents of the shooter,
and the name of the one in the
coma, got it?

INT. HOSPITAL - DAY

It's now four days since the shooting, and Bree is seen,
waking up from her coma. When woken up, she sees a DOCTOR,
sitting on a chair, next to her bed.

                       BREE
The hell happened?

83.

                       DOCTOR
You were comatose for a few days.

                       BREE
How long?

                       DOCTOR
Four.

                       BREE
Fuck.

                       DOCTOR
You know this is a family-oriented
hospital, right?

                       BREE
Exactly.

                       DOCTOR
Now. your last name's Corvin?

                       BREE
Yeah.

The doctor examines his clipboard for a few moments.

                       DOCTOR
      (looking at his
       clipboard)
Bree Corvin, age 17, Female, ASB
President, Hair color's light
blonde?

                       BREE
Brown.

The doctor re-checks his clipboard, crossing out
"light-blonde" on the paper, and replacing it with "Brown".

                       DOCTOR
Any wounds, in particular?

                       BREE
I don't know at all.

                       DOCTOR
Do you suppose I check?

                       BREE
      (abruptly)
No, that's alright... I'm good.
Nothing wrong, really.

84.

                       DOCTOR
Well, if you say so, then that's
fine, but we need to know the
cause of your coma.

                       BREE
      (quietly)
I don't want to talk about it.

                       DOCTOR
Reason?

                       BREE
I...
      (looks down)
,...just don't.

                       DOCTOR
Well, we're all doctors. I can
keep this to-

                       BREE
      (screaming)
FOR FUCK'S SAKE, YOU UNDERSTAND
THE WORDS, "I DON'T WANT TO
GODDAMN TALK ABOUT IT?!"

The doctor stands there, stunned. Bree begins to sob.

                       DOCTOR
      (concerned)
Should I just leave now, or some
sort?

                       BREE
      (crying)
No, that's alright. Just pissed,
you know. School shooting...

                       DOCTOR
You were involved in that shit
four days ago?

                       BREE
Where's Jade?

                       DOCTOR
When he was brought in, along with
you, a few minutes later, he was
pronounced dead on arrival.

                       BREE
But he wasn't shot.

85.

                       DOCTOR
Yeah, but...

FLASHBACK - FOUR DAYS AGO

As the police surround Jade and Bree, Jade suddenly gets up,
his gun still in his hand, as he screams, and tries to shoot
the police, but a hail of bullets to several places,
including the appendix, cut him off. He falls, severely
wounded.

FLASHBACK END

                       BREE
Fucker.

                       DOCTOR
You hated him?

                       BREE
Some of my friends had a grudge
with him, but they were fucked,
too. Also fucked up more. Could've
fucked the whole damn school up if
he had to.

                       DOCTOR
But he didn't, didn't he?

                       BREE
Thirteen people are fucked,
including Mr. Argon.

                       DOCTOR
Who's he?

                       BREE
Was one of the deans... was in
charge of some sort of...
"surveillance" thingy. I warned
Jade not to crash the party that
day, but he already had a grudge
with me, too.

                       DOCTOR
Thing is...
      (sighs)
Grudges are grudges, patient.
Nothing more or less.

86.

                       BREE
He's different in the way he
solved problems... Not like the
other students...

                       DOCTOR
Did you ever hear of "No two
fables are ever the same?"

                       BREE
Never believed in them.

                       DOCTOR
Well, they're like stories... but
with morals, and some are about
animals.

                       BREE
Yeah, I know that, but I never
really believed in one. Read a few
in my time, but thought they were
all the same shit, so I stopped.

                       DOCTOR
Didn't you guys learn-

                       BREE
      (abruptly)
Shit, man, I did learn this shit
in grade school.

INT. MR. CAROLE'S OFFICE - DAY

Mr. Carole is busy, working on papers. He recieves a phone
call from Captain Kirkland.

INTERCUT - MR. CAROLE AND CAPTAIN KIRKLAND TALKING

                       MR. CAROLE
      (picking up phone)
Hello?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
This is the Anaheim Police
Department. I'm calling to gather
information on a recent school
shooting.

87.

                       MR. CAROLE
      (puzzled)
Uhh... I don't really know of any
school shooting that happened
here...

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Where were you on the time of the
shooting?

                       MR. CAROLE
I was on vacation.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
I'm very sorry to do this to you,
but effective today, as of
decision of the Anaheim Police, We
hereby evict you of your job as
headmaster of Ladent Prep.

                       MR. CAROLE
      (furiously)
We're a fuckin' private school,
for God's sake. I do what I want
with it.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
It was not my decision. For any
further questions, you can take it
to the chief.

                       MR. CAROLE
      (furiously)
Do you not know that I was the
headmaster since 1954?! Peace and
quiet since that goddamn date!

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Yeah, but that peace and quiet
went out since the shooting began,
right?

                       MR. CAROLE
I wasn't there during the
shooting. I was on vacation! I had
Lee be the headmaster for that
day, because I had to go see my
mom!

88.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
But you, as the headmaster of
Ladent, were supposed to watch
over your students 24/7. 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week!

                       MR. CAROLE
All because of a fuckin' school
shooting, you're evicting me of?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
As I said before: If you have any
more questions, you can contact
the chief. Right now, clean out
your office. I'm really sorr-

                       MR. CAROLE
      (abruptly and
       furiously)
The hell do you mean, you're
"sorry"?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
The decision was not mine. The
letter from the school district
board was delivered to the chief's
office without your consent,
because you were on vacation. The
chief read this, and told me and
the other captains to evict you,
and find more traces to what had
happened.

                       MR. CAROLE
Then, what's gonna happen to my
beloved school?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Contact the police department,
and/or the board for more
questions.

Mr. Carole hears a loud hangup from Captain Kirkland. Then,
screaming, "FUCKIN' SHIT!", Mr. Carole throws his phone
across the office.

EXT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT

Bree walks to a payphone outside the hospital, puts two
quarters in, and talks with Randy, one of her friends.

89.

INTERCUT - BREE AND RANDY TALKING

                       RANDY
      (answering his
       phone)
Corvin?

                       BREE
Yeah.

                       RANDY
How long were you in that shitty
coma?

                       BREE
A few days. Just came out earlier.

                       RANDY
Heard there was a school shooting
a few days ago.

                       BREE
      (suspiciously)
Where the hell were you?

                       RANDY
Was sick, but you guys were on the
news. All over the damn place.

                       BREE
Headline?

                       RANDY
Let me say it doesn't seem to make
sense, but they titled the news
headline on the shooting, "End
Fireball".

                       BREE
Well, that's a bit stupid...
Anyway, how's Leslie?

                       RANDY
Heard she was sick, and fell
unconscious at my place after
hearing that you were "shot"...

                       BREE
Police, by accident. Hospital also
said that Jade was killed by the
cops.

90.

                       RANDY
Shit. Anyway, is there plans to
close down Ladent?

                       BREE
Unknown.

                       RANDY
Fuckers. Too corrupt, anyway.

INT. ESPORITO RESIDENCE - NIGHT

After a six-day vacation, Mr. and Mrs. Esporito enter their
kitchen, and use the answering machine. One new message
comes in from the police.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND (V.O.)
      (on answering
       machine)
Hello, this is the Anaheim Police
department calling about a recent
school shooting at the school your
son went to, and it's confirmed
that your son was killed by
accident, being confirmed the
shooter-

Mr. Esporito erases the message and abruptly runs upstairs
to the closet in his room. He opens it, to find that his gun
is not there. Mr. Esporito then comes downstairs, crying.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
      (concerned)
Marshall?

                       MR. ESPORITO
      (sobbing)
My gun... My gun...

                       MRS. ESPORITO
I thought you didn't have a gu-

                       MR. ESPORITO
      (abruptly and
       quietly)
OUR SON! HE TOOK MY GUN! HE'S
FUCKIN' DEAD BECAUSE HE SHOT THE
WHOLE DAMN SCHOOL UP!!!

Mr. Esporito begins to sob loudly, running into Mrs.
Esporito's arms. Mrs. Esporito comforts him.

91.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
He's dead?

                       MR. ESPORITO
      (sobbing)
Shot to death... shot to death...
Police... shot hin... death...

Mrs. Esporito begins to sob. Both sob loudly.

                       MRS. ESPORITO
      (crying)
We... gotta go to
the...p..police...tomorrow....
Tell...them about...the...

Mrs. Esporito faints suddenly after her head starts hurting.
Mr. Esporito still sobs.

INT. LADENT PREPARATORY ACADEMY - NIGHT

The back alleys of the school are empty, and Bree walks to
where the scene took place. The blood disappeared from the
ground since the shooting, and only very few bullets remain
on the concrete. She slowly enters the hallway, dark and
quiet, but she had a flashlight. She turns on her
flashlight, seeing only cracks on the ground, and traces of
uncleaned blood next to the lockers. Crying, she touches the
locker of the former Josh Praden, one of her best friends,
and his locker number 261, and continues to sob. She slumps
to the floor, sobbing, remembering everything that happened,
flashing back to the sounds of gunfire, and the number of
dead bodies, and the sounds of screams and tears, as she
sobs silently. She hears her phone ring from her pocket.
Kendall is there.

                       BREE
      (crying)
Kendall?

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
You alright, Bree?

                       BREE
I'm not. Not now I'm not.

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Dude, it's over. My parents called
the police after hearing that I
was about to be shot and-

92.

                       BREE
      (abruptly)
Bet they didn't do anything about
the lives of others, didn't they?

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
You were in a coma, were you?

                       BREE
      (still crying)
Four days... four days of not
seeing the world for a second
time... Thought I died...
Honestly, I'm not grateful to be
alive. Not without my friends...
Not without the school...

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Look, Bree, your friends are proud
of you up there, that you came and
tried to stop it all... but it's
late now, now that they're up
there... I could say the same damn
thing.

                       BREE
The hell do you mean, "say the
same damn thing"?

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
I could say that I wish I were
still dead, but sometimes you need
to be grateful to be-

                       BREE
      (abruptly)
Haven't you heard of the phrase,
"Isn't it better to die with
honor, than to live without"?

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Yeah, but you gotta be glad you're
alive. Like, no one usually gets
out alive in times like this...

                       BREE
Well, you're glad. I'm only fucked
like this because thirteen people
died... I could've been one of
them...

93.

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Bree, it's life. It's like russian
roulette to see who goes to heaven
or hell, and/or who dies first.

                       BREE
What do you mean by, "die first"?

Suddenly, BAM! Gunshot from the back door window, and the
bullet hits Bree in the arm. A sharp cry, and she snaps up
and takes off running, trying to avoid another hail of
bullets. Towards the hallway, more gunshots close in on
Bree, as she tries to avoid the bullets, bursting out of

THE FRONT DOOR

and running towards her car, which was at the parking lot
for the whole time. She gets in the car, breathing heavily.
She still holds the phone on her right hand.

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
You still alive there, Bree? Are
you still--

Bree presses "End" on her cell phone, and places it in her
pocket.

EXT. HIGHWAY - NIGHT

Cars are seen, driving all over the freeway.

INT. CAR - CONTINUOUS

While driving, Bree tries to forget everything that
happened, by listening to the radio. Her phone rings again.
She opens it, and she presses "End", and places it back into
her pocket. Her phone rings again, and she opens it.
Kendall.

                       BREE
Not now, Kend. I'm busy.

                       KENDALL (V.O.)
Look, not to cut you off, but you
know someone's behind you, right?

94.

                       BREE
Very funny.

She then hangs up the phone, and places it back into her
pocket. She goes back to listening to her music, and
suddenly, BAM! BAM! Two gunshots to her window, and Bree now
is driving like a madman, trying to dodge more shots. She
tries to look outside her window, but another gunshot forces
her to place her head back in the car.

EXT. HIGHWAY - CONTINUOUS

The car is seen, swerving through many cars, trying to get
away from the oncoming bullets.

INT. CAR - CONTINUOUS

Bree pokes her head out her window, and behind her, she
finds the believed-to-be-dead Jade, driving a van, with a
gun clutched to his right hand.

                       BREE
      (raising her eyes,
       surprisingly)
Jade?

Another oncoming gunshot, and Bree thrusts her head back in
the car, concentration back on the road. More gunshots hit
the back window as Bree drives.

INT. VAN - CONTINUOUS

An angry Jade reloads his gun rushingly, and goes back to
firing the gun again at the car in front of him.

EXT. HIGHWAY - CONTINUOUS

The car is seen, avoiding more bullets, but it suddenly tips
on a ramp, and the car flips, hitting two other vehicles.
Other cars suddenly stop. Surprisingly, the van also stops,
and growling, Jade forces himself out of the van, gun
loaded, and repeatedly shoots the upside-down car.

95.

INT. CAR - CONTINUOUS

Bree unbuckles her seatbelt, trying to get out of the
upside-down car, but the air-bag wasn't on, and there is a
difficulty for her trying to get out. Hearing the bullets on
the top, she takes a pocket knife she found in her pocket,
and cuts the seatbelt. After a few moments, the seatbelt
finally lets go, and Bree falls, back first. Body first, she
crawls out of the car, and outside, she gets up and starts
running through the highway, trying to get far away from the
bullets now being directed at her. While running, other cars
swerve and crash. Running, she hears an explosion. Believed
to be coming from her car, she continues to run through the
highway, trying to get away from Jade, who now is trying to
fire a salvo of bullets at her. Bullets go in all
directions, hitting other cars. Finding a ledge, she runs
towards it, and jumps over it, and continues to run
throughout the night.

EXT. STREETS - NIGHT

While she is running, she stops, and finds a nearby skating
center. She walks towards the center, until she stops

AT THE DOOR

and gives a few dollars to the cashier at the window. She
enters the center, seeing numbers of people skating. For
relaxation, she goes to try a pair of skates on, that way
she'll completely forget what happened and lay low for a
bit. At the desk, she finally gets her skates, and goes

96.

TOWARD A BENCH

to snap them on. Suddenly, BAM! BAM! BAM! At the moment,
everyone starts running for cover, trying to get away from
the gunfire. Bree also ducks under the bench. From under,
she then sees Jade, with the same gun, entering through the
cracked door, shooting an oncoming security guard. Screaming
and running all over, as Jade runs in, looking for nearby
targets, and shooting at them. Under the bench, Bree looks
up at the roof briefly, and crawls out, now getting up, and
running toward Jade, trying to tackle him. Suddenly, Jade
notices Bree and fires at her, but all of the bullets miss,
and Jade is tackled to the ground, screaming, but his
screaming is overshadowed by the nightmarish cries and
screams. Pinned to the ground, Jade struggles to reach for
the gun, despite the few punches to the face from Bree.
Finally reaching for the gun, he aims for a huge canister in
the rink, and, aiming steady, despite the struggling, he
opens fire at the canister. The canister lets out a steaming
sound, and the canister EXPLODES! The screams are louder
than ever, as Jade now punches Bree, finally letting go. He
gets up, only to be tripped, and more gunshots go off,
hitting a few people in the legs and hips. Bree tries to
wrestle for the gun, trying to stop Jade from killing more
people, despite the fact that twelve people were in the
skating rink when the canister exploded, which destroyed the
skating rink, killing those twelve people. Wrestling, more
gunshots go off, causing more chaos than before. As she
wrestles, she hears more gunshots, but not from her gun. She
glances up, but Jade, on the floor, backfists Bree, causing
her to go down. She tries to stop Jade once more, who gets
the gun again, but fails as he knocks her unconscious.

After a few moments of unconsciousness, and seeing Jade with
the gun again, a hail of bullets cuts Jade off, and he
falls, wounded and screaming. Two police officers, Janis and
Rodeck, walk in, checking the wounded Jade, and take the gun
from his hand. Bree walks to Janis and Rodeck.

                       JANIS
This the guy who's been chasing
you?

                       BREE
Thought he was fucked, for sure...

                       JANIS
We thought that too, for a few
days, but it's unexpected that he
just spark back to life like
that...

97.

                       RODECK
What about those shots?

                       JANIS
At best, we finally discovered
that we only hit him in some
places of the body, and even
though he was hit in the appendix,
for some strange-ass--

                       BREE
Thought they end up dead like
that...

                       RODECK
Janis, check the shots. Get the
kids out of here, too.

                       BREE
I'll get 'em.

                       RODECK
You're wounded. Besides there's
too many kids all over.

                       JANIS
I suggest you get out of here. Go
on home.

                       BREE
But look, what about the kids?

                       RODECK
That's why we invented backup.

Bree turns to leave through the front door. Scene shifts
back to Janis and Rodeck, checking the body of Jade, now
dead.

                       JANIS
I think we got an "End Fireball"
right here...

                       RODECK
It was a title of a headline on
the news.

                       JANIS
I don't watch that shit.

98.

INT. CAPTAIN KIRKLAND'S OFFICE - DAY

Janis and Rodeck talk with Captain Kirkland, after what had
happened in the skating rink last night.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
So, that's what happened?

                       JANIS
We all thought he was dead, but
for some strange reason, Poof, he
came back alive...

                       RODECK
Was believed to be dead.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Shit... worse than I thought...

                       JANIS
What?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
A guy who was supposed to be dead,
and suddenly, he comes back,
guns-a-blazin throughout the
fuckin' night, and probably, he's
not dead.

                       RODECK
Do we need to inform the parents?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Police business only. And not a
very good one...

                       JANIS
You need any coffee?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Yeah, I can sure use some shit.

Janis exits the office, to get coffee.

                       RODECK
Captain, I can assure you, I know
we screwed up last time, but I
swear to God that we--

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Look, it's not your fault at all.
The sources came in wrong.

99.

                       RODECK
Sources?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Info overseas. Usually from other
people...

                       RODECK
I swear that we got him this
time...

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Condition?

                       RODECK
Currently in a coma. As soon as he
gets out, we'll inform the
parents.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
No, you will not.

                       RODECK
What do you mean?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
I said no, you will not inform
them. They will find out on their
own.

                       RODECK
The chief?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
He'll request for Jade to be put
into a psych ward.

                       RODECK
Why not a prison?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
We're dealing with a psychopath
here. Prisons are the business of
a sociopath.

Janis enters, with the coffee on her right hand. Captain
Kirkland takes the coffee.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
      (to Janis)
What flavor?

100.

                       JANIS
It's just coffee.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Good, good.
      (to Rodeck)
Rodeck...

                       RODECK
Yes, captain?

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
At the moment, I want both of you
to go on home. We're closing
early. By the next two weeks,
we're putting this off for good.

Janis and Rodeck both thank the captain, and leave the
office. Captain Kirkland turns his radio on, and hears
another knock on the door.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
Come in.

A POLICE CONSULTANT enters, holding a report in a brown
envelope.

                       CAPTAIN KIRKLAND
What is that?

                       POLICE CONSULTANT
The chief told me to give these to
you.

The consultant hands the papers to Captain Kirkland, and
leaves. He opens the brown envelope, and in it, an obituary
paper, saying: "IN LOVING MEMORY OF: ASHLEY KIRKLAND and the
date of birth and death below the letters. A picture of a
blonde-haired girl is on the paper. Thinking of his dead
daughter, Ashley, he cries, realizing that she was one of
the victims of the school shooting.

FLASHBACK - TWO HOURS AFTER THE SCHOOL SHOOTING

Sprawled near her locker is a dead body of the girl, Ashley
Kirkland. Her body is being taken pictures, as the blood
disappears on the floor.

101.

FLASHBACK END

Captain Kirkland continues to cry while reading the paper,
and suddenly has a heart attack. Choking, he sprawls to the
floor, trying to catch his breath. Four officers and a
doctor rush into the office, trying to save his life.
Several sobs as Captain Kirkland's life passes away. The
sobs turn back to silent sobs, as the doctor picks up the
obituary paper and sadly looks at it.
