and gets a can of

(looks at Selena)
Thank you Selena.Demi, get dressed then come
downstairs for breakfast.

face, laughs,
then goes

lipstick, a silk maroon tank top, scarlet fishnet gloves,

Joe, we are going to be on a plane

(wakes up, angry)
I am 19, a legal adult. You can't

Brown dumps a bucket of cold water on Joe's head and starts
to head out the door. |

(wet and furious)

Demi and Selena are at their lockers getting their books out
for their classes. |

Brown and Joe are sitting on a sofa in the Gomez living room
when Demi and Selena and Miley come home from school. |
|

Demi unlocks and opens the door, steps inside and
immediately sees Brown: |

Uncle Brown!
(runs to him) |

|

BROWN
(smiles)
Hey there sweetheart! How've ya

(hugs her) |

Brenda, Brown, and Joe all look at Demi when Brown said the
word "married". |

(feeling awkward)

Oh my lord! What did you tell Aunt
Denise after she told you her
dying wish? |

(trying to calm

They had to lie sweetie. Sad news

(sobbing)

Miley knocks on Demi's door: |

Demi is on the phone, in her room, with the door closed. She
is ignoring Miley: |

Hello? Yes, I would like an

Miley turns the doorknob on Demi's door and to her surprise,
the door opens: |

|

MILEY
(as the door opens)
Demi? |

|

Demi hears her coming and quickly hides in her closet.
Miley walks in Demi's room but doesn't see her anywhere: |

(looking around
for Demi)
Demi? Are you in here?

like someone is

Leave this room immediately unless

Miley recognizes Demi's voice but is still scared. She runs
downstairs to where everybody else is. |

SHE IS GOING TO RUN AWAY AND
SUICIDE AND GO TO A RICH-KID
SCHOOL!
(takes a deep

Miley's craziness)

(makes a peace
sign and runs out
of the house) |

BACKYARD |

|
Demi fooled Miley and is now climbing down a tree in the
backyard, smiling, and talking to herself: |

I can't believe that worked! Miley
is so gullible.
(slips and falls
from 4 ft. above

What the heck! Why was I climbing
a stupid tree when I could've
taken the atiic stairs? |

Demi is muttering to herself when she starts running toward
the front of the house without looking where she was going
and bumps into Joe: |

(annoyed)
Watch where you're going klutz! |

(laughs)

Everyone is looking confused after hearing what Miley said
about Demi. |

running away to a school for the
rich dead! |

|

SELENA
What are you talking about? She is
right outside hugging the jerk...

nearest window)

room, nervous)
Okay, she is coming inside.What do

Brown sees Selena and Miley doubled over in laughter: |

Selena is having a hard time because she was crying from
laughing so hard: |

Miley is in the same situation as Selena: |

Selena and Miley look at eachother and burst out in laughter
again, this time rolling on the floor. |

Joe and Demi walk in the door holding hands: |

Selena and Miley immediately stops laughing: |
|
|

(smiles)
So, where's my engagement ring? |

|
Brenda had been in the kitchen getting drinks for everyone
when she heard Joe and Demi come in and say that they are
getting married. She walks into the living room. |
|
|

BRENDA
(walks upto Demi
and hugs her)
Aw honey, you didn't have to do
this. We would have understood if
you had said no. |
|
|
|
Brown jabs her in the stomach and Brenda gives him her
signature you're-an-idiot look and shuts him up. |
|
|

DEMI
(looks at Joe then
back at Brenda)
I want to! |
|
|
|
Selena is kind of jealous because Demi has an admirer unlike
herself but she doesn't trust Joe one bit. She goes toward
Joe and pats him on the back: |

SELENA
(smiles)
Wow, a perfect couple, huh Miley?
A jerk is marrying a traitor! |
|
|
|
| |
MILEY
(laughs)
That's not nice Selena! |
|
|
|

Brenda looks at Selena: |

(embarrased by
their behavior)
Girls, be nice. |

|

Selena sticks her tongue out at them and walks away. |
|
|

BRENDA
(looks at Demi)
Are you sure you want to do this? |
|

(sighs)

Joe is pretending to be nice to Demi so he and Brown can
leave.Joe hugs Demi from the back. Demi looks up at him so
the top of her head is touching Joe's chest. |

(a tear falls down
her cheek)
I'm sorry... |

|
|
Brenda feels bad for Demi and takes her away from Joe and
kisses her forehead in a motherly way. |
|
|
|
Brenda says this without realising what she is saying: |
|
|

BRENDA
Don't cry sweetheart. Joe's mom is
dying and if you don't say yes to
the proposal, you'll only be
speeding up the process a little,
making it a little more peaceful.
Those painful 24 weeks would be
just one painful week… |

(crying)

Demi runs upto her room. |
|
|

|
Selena was upstairs and about to go back downstairs when she
sees Demi crying and running to their room. She is standing
outside her room with the door closed. She opens the door so
Demi doesn't have to. Demi runs in their room and locks the
door. Selena goes downstairs. |

LIVING ROOM |

SELENA
(raises one
eyebrow)
What was that about?
(looks at Joe)
WHAT DID YOU DO! |

(crosses his arms)

(yells to Demi)

Two days later, Demi is packing for her trip to LA when
Miley and Selena come back early from their sleepover. It is
5 in the morning. |

(knocks on Demis
door)
Can we come in? Too late! We're
alreay in. |
|
|

(turns around so
she is facing
them)

|

(looks at Demi's
puffy red eyes)

|

|
|

Selena has tears in her eyes. Demi is quiety crying. She
turns back around so her back is facing Selena and Miley and
continues packing. |

(wipes her eyes)
Goodbye Sel. Bye Miles. |
|
|
|
As Miley turns around and runs to Demi and hugs her tightly,
they hear a car honking in front of Selena's house. |
|
|
| |
DEMI
(crying harder)
Bye! |

|

Demi runs outside with her suitcases in hand and gets in the
car. |
|
|
| |
|
EXT. LOS ANGELES AIRPORT LOBBY - DAY |
|
|
5 hours later after the car and plane ride, Joe and Demi are
in the airport lobby getting their suitcases. |
|
|

JOE
(holding his and
Demi's suitcases)
All set? |
|
|
|
Joe doesn't hear any response from Demi and looks around for
her and sees her hugging his little brother, Nick. |
|
|
| |
DEMI
(hugging Nick)
How on earth can America's
sweetest guy be closely related to
the meanest one? |
|
|
|
Nick is hugging Demi in a way that he can see Joe staring at
them but she can't. Nick wants to make his older brother
jealous. |
|
|
| |
NICK
(pulls away and
looks at Demi
flirtingly)
Joe honestly doesn't deserve a
girl as great as you. |
|
|

DEMI
(smiles)
Come on Nicky. I like you, a lot,
but I'm doing this for your
mother. Maybe, later, I'll get a
divorce and marry you! |

Demi giggles and kisses his cheek. Nick blushes redder than
Demi's scarlet nailpolish. Joe walks upto them, steaming
with anger and jealousy and slaps Demi. |

JOE
(yelling)
I know we're not married yet but
we are engaged. You can't just go
around kissing people. If this
weren't for my mother, you would
probably be dead right now! |
|
|
|
Everyone in the lobby of the airport is staring at them.
Demi decides to give the rude people something to remember. |
|
|

(winks at Nick,
speaking softly)
You know I just love him as a
brother-in-law. You're the one I
truly love! |
|
|
|
Demi brushes his lips with her hand softly for a second then
runs toward the approaching limo. |
|
|

RANDOM GIRL IN CROWD (OS)
(yelling)
COME ON JOE! RUN AFTER HER! |

(runs after Demi,
screaming her
name)
DEMI! I'm sorry. I forgive

Joe was just acting because he didn't want to look like a
jerk in front of the crowd. The crowd cheers, claps, and/or
whistles. |

The chauffeur slams the door on his face and goes back to
the driver's seat and continues driving. |

Demi calls Nick on her cell phone: |

Nick? It's me, Demi. Can you pick

Denise, Kevin, and Taylor in a hospital room and Denise is
on the hospital bed because she is the cancer patient. |

(looking at Kevin)
Kevin, you will watch after my
little Nicky after I die, won't
you? You will be his legal
gaurdians until his 18th birthday. |
|
|

KEVIN
(looks down)
Of course we will, Aunt Denise. |
|
|

TAYLOR
(smiles)
We will watch him as if our lives
depended on it! |
|

Taylor grabs Kevin's hand and squeezes it. Nick and Demi
arrive in front of Denise's room and knocks on the door. |

(looks at the door)

Nick opens the door and steps in. |

Taylor looks down with tears in her eyes. |

Our mother died when I was 7 and
my dad died 6 months after. It was
just me, Taylor, and my step-dad.
(a tear rolls down
her cheek)
But then Taylor's dad abandoned us
and we lived together with Selena
Gomez and her mom. |

Joe walks in just in time to see a tear roll down Demi's
cheek: |

JOE
(yelling)
What is that lying bitch doing
here?! |

NICK
(comforting Demi)
Dude! Dude! Dem is neither a liar
nor a bitch. She is your fiancée,
and by the way, our mom is right
there. |

Nick gets up and helps Joe carry her to his car. They gently
place her in the backseat. Nick rushes to the driver's seat
as Joe gets in the passenger one, and they drive off toward
the hospital. |

Joe is on his cell phone calling Brown and Kevin. Demi is
constantly moaning the whole way to the hospital when she
suddenly stops just as they arrive there. |

Nick & Joe get her out of the car. The ambulance people put
her on a gurney. Nick and Joe are stting on two brown chairs
in the waiting room when Kevin and Taylor arrive with Brown
following them just in time to see the nurses carrying Demi,
her body bluish-red from lack of blood, on a gurney. Taylor
hugs Kevin and starts crying. Joe sees them and runs toward
them, tears rollind down his cheek. Nick sees Joe run off
and follws them. Nick runs upto Kevin and hugs him, crying. |

transfuse her blood with Nick's. |

of grass she could find and walks out into the traffic. She
is not looking at any of the cars trying not to hit her but
instead just scrolling through her contacts on her cell
phone. Because of that, she doesn't see the ginormous
gasoline-carrying truck headed right for her. The truck
driver is trying to stop he truck but it's going too fast.
He honks at her but Demi doesn't hear him. The truck
suddenly hits her with full force and as she falls down
unconcious, her finger accidentally hits the "talk" button
on her cell phone under Uncle Brown's name. |
