WICKED GAMES

FADE IN:

INT. POLICE INTERROGATION ROOM-ST. LOUIS - NIGHT

We open with a man sitting at a table in an interrogation
room, the man is Brian McCallen. He is a handsome man
wearing a dirty and slightly ripped designer suit. He is
handcuffed and quietly smoking a cigarette. Suddenly two
men enter the room through a door in front of Brian. They
are Detective John Masterson and Sergeant Paul Godder.
Detective Masterson is carrying a file folder and a cup of
coffee the Sergeant also carries a cup of coffee. The
detective pulls a chair up in front of Brian and casually
sits down setting the folder and cup in front of him.

                       DET. MASTERSON
So Brian, can I call you Brian?

Brian says nothing to the detective, he only takes a drag
off his cigarette.

                       DET. MASTERSON
      (SMILING)
Listen if you can't help me I
can't help you. All I know is
what they tell me. And they tell
me you brutally murdered three
people and seriously injured
another and if...

                       SGT. GODDER
I don't think this son of a bitch
is playin' with a full deck. He
hasn't said shit since I brought
him in. But when I found him all
he kept saying is Jack knows, Jack
knows.

                       DET. MASTERSON
So who's this Jack that you were
talking about?

Brian remains quiet. He takes another drag off his
cigarette then stubbes it out in an ashtray in front of him.
The detective stands up and nods to the sergeant. The
sergeant opens the door and the two begin to head out.

2.

                       BRIAN
      (TO THE DETECTIVE)
If I told you. You would only
think I was crazy.

Both officers stop in their tracks and turn toward the man
at the table.

                       SGT. GODDER
Listen McCallen it sure as shit
couldn't hurt. Your lookin' at
three cases of man slaughter.
Holding out on us is gonna hurt
you more than anythin'.

                       DET. MASTERSON
Easy, Paul. Let's not insult his
intelligence, I believe he's aware
of the depth of shit he's in. Go
on Brian, try us.

                       BRIAN
It all started eight years ago...

INT. CLUB REYNOLDS-GRADUATION PARTY - NIGHT

EIGHT YEARS AGO

We open with six friends sitting amongst others at a large
graduation party. Everyone is drinking, dancing, and
partying. The six friends are Brian, Sean, Frankie, Dillon,
Alex, and Jack. They are drinking beer and look as though
they have been for a while. Sean reaches into his pocket
and pulls out a bag of marijuana and a pipe. He looks at a
Brian with a gleam in his eye.

                       BRIAN (V.O.)
...That was the night our lives
began, and ended.

                       SEAN
      (TO BRIAN)
I think it's time we opened up
tonight's options what about you?

Brian looks at Sean intently, as if scorning his remark. He
then bursts into laughter.

                       BRIAN
Shit yea. I think it is too.
Anyone else up for some smoke?

3.

The other friends raise their glasses in agreement, and then
take a drink. Sean begins packing the pipe, he then takes
out his lighter and lights the pipe. After a few hits he
passes it to Jack. Jack takes it and does the same passing
it on around the circle of friends. Dillon gets it last and
takes a hit then hands it back to Sean.

                       DILLON
      (TO SEAN)
I can't believe it's actually over
man. All that hardwork finally
paid off.

Sean picks up the pipe and begins trying to smoke it, but
nothing comes out.

                       SEAN
      (BETWEEN PUFFS)
Yea I know....what you mean
D...it's been hard, but fun. I
think I'll miss .... the girls the
most...Dammit man you cashed the
hit!

The group now a little high from the weed is laughing
hysterically at Sean's comment. Brian turns to him and
grabs the pipe.

                       BRIAN
      (STILL LAUGHING)
Fuck it man! We got a shit load
more. Don't be an asshole.

Sean nods at Brian and then reaches for the bag of weed on
the table.

                       SEAN
      (HANDING BRIAN THE
       BAG)
Yea, yea, it's just this night
isn't exactly as fun as I'd
imagined. I mean this shit only
makes me want to do more.

4.

                       FRANKIE
      (LIGHTING A
       CIGARETTE)
Shit Sean, you know we can get
whatever you need man! Just name
it. What about you guys you wanna
take this party on the road? I
know where we can score something
real good.

                       JACK
I don't know guys I mean pot is
one thing but we can't be fuckin'
takin' something that could
jeopardize our careers.

                       DILLON
      (TAKING A DRINK OF
       HIS BEER)
I'm with Jack on this one guys we
have to think about the summer. I
mean shit Bri you got that
internship with your Dad. Sean
your going to grad. school. And
fuck I have that internship at
Fallon Corp.

                       BRIAN
      (MOCKING DILLON)
And Jack's going to law school.
And Alex is goin' to the Marines.
Blah fuckin' Blah D. You sound
like my fucking Dad always nagging
always telling me NO! Well not
this time, you all coming or not?!

Dillon shakes his head, but noticing Jack getting up from
his chair he drinks down his beer and lays some money down
on the table. The others stand up and lay down some cash as
well then they all navigate through the crowd toward the
exit.

EXT. DARK HIGHWAY - NIGHT

We see a red SUV speeding down the road, this is Brian's
car. Inside riding with Brian are Jack, Sean, and Dillon.
Behind the red SUV is a late model black sports car, this is
Frankie's car. Alex is riding with Frankie.

5.

INT. FRANKIE'S CAR - NIGHT

Frankie is trying to pass Brian, but Brian keeps cutting him
off. Alex is smoking a cigarette and has a beer in his lap.

                       FRANKIE
      (LAUGHING)
That son-of-a-bitch, I hope he
fuckin' wrecks man! I'm a put my
bumper up his ass if he don't let
me come 'round!

                       ALEX
      (BLOWING SMOKE
       FROM HIS MOUTH)
Fuck him man! Hit his ass show
Bri who's boss.

Frankie speeds up and lightly touches his bumper to the back
of Brian's car. Then backs off and does it again.

INT. BRIAN'S SUV - NIGHT

We see Brian steering frantically trying to stay in front of
Frankie. In the front passenger seat we see Dillon still
smoking weed in a pipe. In the back Jack watches as Sean
takes out a salt shaker full of cocaine and pours some on
his hand.

                       BRIAN
      (LAUGHING)
Look at this mother fucker! He
thinks hitting me will get me to
stop. He's got another thing
comin' to him.

                       SEAN
Hey slow it down up there man,
this shit ain't cheap! And I
don't want to fuckin' waste it!

Brian begins slowing down and stops swerving. He then
motions for Frankie to come up alongside of his car.

                       DILLON
      (TO SEAN)
How can you do that shit man? That
will fuckin' kill you.

6.

                       BRIAN
Lay off him D. Just don't fuckin'
spill that shit in here, cause
I'll never get it cleaned up.

                       SEAN
Ya' know it would be a lot easier
if you would pull the fuck over.
What's the goddamn hurry anyway?

                       BRIAN
No hurry. Just wanna get there.

INT. FRANKIE'S CAR - NIGHT

                       FRANKIE
      (PULLING UP
       ALONGSIDE BRIAN)
You must think your pretty good
huh? Mother fucker. HA! I just
didn't get a good start.

                       BRIAN
      (FLIPPING OFF
       FRANKIE)
Whatever you say Frank! I take it
we're heading to the beach house.

                       FRANKIE
Of course unless you got a better
idea.

Brian shakes his head and Frankie nods to him. He then
speeds past Brian jumping out in front of the other vehicle.

                       ALEX
      (TAKING A DRINK
       FROM HIS BEER)
We're runnin' out of party tools
man. This is my last beer.

                       FRANKIE
Don't worry Alex...we got plenty
of shit in stock at the cabin.

INT. BRIAN'S SUV - NIGHT

                       JACK
      (TO BRIAN)
Since when do you guys have a
fuckin' cabin??

7.

                       SEAN
Shit, Jack and Frank have had that
cabin for a while. They usually
only use it for pleasin' the
ladies. That's why common folk
like us never get to see it.
Apparently his majesty sees fit
for us to join him there on such a
momentus occasion.

                       BRIAN
Don't let this poor bastard
deceive you Jack. We're not
stingy, he just doesn't like the
fact that I was more "privelaged"
than he was, as a child.

                       SEAN
      (LAUGHING)
I guess I am just jealous, right
D?

                       DILLON
      (SHAKING HIS HEAD)
I don't even wanna get in the
middle of this.

Sean snorts some more cocaine, as we see the two vehicles
zoom down the highway in the late evening.

EXT. THE CABIN - NIGHT

We watch as the guys file out of the vehicles in front of
the cabin at the lake. We see the long dock with several
boats tied to it and picnic tables dotted all around. Jack
takes a moment to eye the surroundings as does Dillon and
Alex. Meanwhile the others head into the cabin and turn on
the lights.

                       JACK
      (STRETCHING)
So this is "paradise?" Nice.

                       ALEX
Don't get used to it guys we gotta
head back to our miserable lives
tomorrow.

Alex and Jack turn to head into the cabin, and Dillon takes
a moment to light a cigarette then joins them inside.

8.

INT. THE CABIN - NIGHT

The six friends are now sitting around the den on two
couches. Except Alex who sits at a table in the corner
rolling a joint. Sean gets up from one of the couches and
heads toward a small kitchen area behind them.

                       SEAN
Anybody need a beer?

                       BRIAN
Yea bring me one.

                       FRANKIE
Make that two Sean.

                       SEAN
      (RETURNING TO THE
       DEN WITH THE
       BEERS)
Anything else?

                       JACK
I wouldn't mind a lil' of that
fine Coke you got on ya'.

                       DILLON
Since when do you take that shit?

                       JACK
I figure there's a first time for
everything. And now seems like as
good a time as any, man. I mean
we just graduated college, that's
a big step in our lives, and
tonight may be the last time we
get to party with one another
before we go seperate ways.

                       DILLON
Dude, all I'm sayin' is that shit,
can kill you, and I don't mean
over time. People die from just
one line.

                       SEAN
That's why you don't do just one.

Sean and Frankie both burst into laughter at his comment,
and slap hands.

9.

                       DILLON
That's not fuckin' funny guys!
That's serious shit right there!

                       SEAN
Well I know that D...But, Jack's
an adult, and adults can choose to
do what they want.

Sean throws a small bag of cocaine toward Jack. Brian walks
over to Alex and takes the now burning joint from him, and
takes a hit.

                       DILLON
Jack don't take that shit man,
come on.

Jack just shakes his head and begins seperating the cocaine
into lines on a book he picked up next to him.

We now see the room from above. Time seems to speed by as
we watch them drink and do drugs. It grows later and later.
Eventually everyone has left the room except Jack who is
passed out on the couch.

EXT. CABIN - DAY

From outside we see that the sun is slowly begining to rise.
The camera begins zooming in through the window into the
room where Dillon was sleeping. We hear the sound of a
toilet flushing, and see Dillon stagger out into the room.
He then slowly turns toward the door leading back to the
hall and into the den.

We watch from behind as Dillon enters the den and walks
toward the kitchen. He opens the fridge and takes out a
beer. We follow behind as he reenters the den and sits down
at the sofa adjacent from Jack. He opens the beer and
starts to take a drink as he does so he looks up at his
friend on the couch.

                       DILLON
OH MY GOD!!

Blood is all down the side of the couch and all over Jack's
face. It has dried up now and the trail starts at his nose.

                       DILLON
      (HYSTERICALLY)
Oh God, no God no! Jack?! NOOO!

10.

Dillon has now jumped from his seat, the beer falling to the
floor, and is holding Jacks head up with his hands.

                       DILLON
      (NOW CRYING)
BRIAN!!!! ALEX!!!! SOMEBODY!
HELP!!

We watch as Alex, Sean, and Frankie pile into the room
first.

                       FRANKIE
      (STARTLED)
What the FUCK happened?!

                       SEAN
      (CALMER)
Alex...

Alex stands quiet with his mouth open staring at Jack's
body.

                       SEAN
      (ASSERTIVE)
ALEX!

Alex slowly turns his head to face Sean.

                       SEAN
      (CALM)
Go get Brian.

Alex nods his head then quickly turns and heads toward
Brian's room.

We follow as Alex heads into Brian's room. Brian is still
asleep in his bed when Alex enters.

                       ALEX
      (QUIETLY)
Brian? Brian?

                       ALEX
      (SHAKING BRIAN)
BRIAN?!

                       BRIAN
      (JUMPING SLIGHTLY)
WHAT?!

We now see the three other friends waiting on Brian and
Alex. They soon enter the room.

11.

                       BRIAN
What the fuck happened?!

                       DILLON
I don't know...I don't know! I
just came in and found him like
that!

Dillon stumbles back away from Jack and trips on to the
couch behind him. Sean is now leaning over Jacks body and
with two fingers he checks his neck for a pulse.

                       FRANKIE
      (WALKING UP TO HIM)
Well?

Sean shakes his head. Dillon burst into tears.

                       BRIAN
How? How could this happen?

                       SEAN
      (TURNING TO FACE
       BRIAN)
He ODed...

Dillon slowly looks up at Sean still shaking his head.
Dillon's facial expression of pure sorrow and confusion
vanish giving way to blind rage. He lunges at Sean.

                       DILLON
This is your fault!

Dillon uses his force, weight, and anger to slam Sean to the
ground. He proceeds to sit on his chest holding his arms
underneath his knees. Dillon then throws a flurry of swings
at Sean's face.

                       DILLON
These were YOUR DRUGS!! I told
you not to give him any you
mother...

The startled bystanders grab there enraged friend and drag
him away pinning him against the couch. Alex hurries over
to attend to Sean.

                       DILLON
      (HYSTERICAL)
He never shoulda' come here!! This
was our fault we did this...WE DID
THIS!!!

12.

EXT. DOCK-LAKE - DAY

The sun has now fully risen shining light on the lone dock
leading out to the vast lake. This is where the five
remaining friends gather. Frankie and Dillon are carrying
Jack's body wrapped up in a sleeping bag.

                       BRIAN
These cinder blocks should wheigh
the body down eno...

                       DILLON
This body has a name Brian...his
name is JACK...and don't forget

live. I know I won't.

                       BRIAN
Look D, I meant no disrespect, you
know that. We are all dealing
with this in our way...

                       FRANKIE
Dillon you agreed, this has to be
done. You know that. No one can
know what happened last night...NO
ONE. It would end it for all of
us...Jack wouldn't want that you
know as well as anyone, Jack was
your friend...Think would he want
you to go down and take a fall for
his mistake? WOULD HE?

                       DILLON
      (TEARING UP)
No...No he wouldn't.
      (SHAKING HIS HEAD)
Reach me a block.

                       BRIAN
      (WAVING)
Goodbye Sarge'.

The Detective leads the Sergeant out of the room shutting
the door on the way out. Brian lights another cigarette.

INT. POLICE STATION-HALLWAY - DAY

The Detective turns to head back in the room, but the
Sergeant swiftly grabs his arm.

                       SGT. GODDER
This kid killed'em John. His own
goddamn friends...I'm not gonna'
let him get away with this.

                       SGT. GODDER
      (PLACING HIS HAND
       ON THE SERGEANT'S
       SHOULDER)
I know Paul, we'll get him.

The two men head back in to the interrogation room where
Brian awaits patiently.

INT. OFFICE-DESK - DAY

Scenes of different newspapers lying on a desk are seen. All
chronicling the events of the search for Jack.

                       BRIAN
      (V.O.)
When the police questioned us one
by one we all told them the same
story that he had left heading for
home. That he didn't go with us
to the cabin. Of course we were
all worried about what Dillon
would say...but the he held up, he
didn't give in.

                       DET. MASTERSON
      (V.O.)
What about his car the police knew
it never left the bar didn't they?

                       BRIAN
      (V.O.)
See that's the thing about Jack he
didn't drive. Didn't need to he
loved to walk and when he needed a
ride he hitch-hiked. In the end
when the police finally gave up
they closed the case suspecting he
had try to do just that, and
someone had kidnapped or killed
him.

15.

                       DET. MASTERSON
So your telling us that if we were
to comb that lake we'd find his
body?

                       BRIAN
      (SNUFFING OUT HIS
       CIGARETTE BUTT)
Yes.

                       DET. MASTERSON
Sergeant relay that message to the
Chief see what he wants to do.

The Sergeant nods and flips his notepad shut then picks up
his coffee cup and heads out the door.

                       DET. MASTERSON
So Brian what does all this have
to do with what happened over the
last week, what does this have to
do with the death of your friends?

                       BRIAN
I'm getting to that.

EXT. MCCALLEN CORPORATION - DAY

FIVE DAYS EARLIER

The city hustles around all seemingly with a purpose. As we
see many cars and and people flooding the streets and
sidewalks respectively.

INT. MCCALLEN CORPORATION-BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY

                       BRIAN
      (ON PHONE)

Goodbye.

The large office is adorned with high priced fixtures from
vases to paintings. Brians desk is centered in front of a

16.

large picture window spanning half the wall in front of him.
There is one painting of interest in particular directly
behind him. The portrait is that of Aden McCallen, Brian's
father, and founder of the company. Beeping is heard from
the phone in front of Brian and he quickly moves to answer
it.

                       BRIAN
      (TO INTERCOM)
Yes Terri what is it?

                       BRIAN
      (FROM INTERCOM)
Sir, it's your three o'clock, Mr.
Andrews.

                       BRIAN
Right, right. Send him in.

A few seconds elapse and Brian shuffles through some files
atop his desk. The door to his office swings open as a
young man carrying a briefcase and wearing a suit enters. He
moves boldly and comfortabley towards Brians desk.

                       BRIAN
Have a seat.

The young man complies.

                       BRIAN
So, Keith, your here about the
Human Resources position? As you
can see we are in need of one, as
I don't have time to personally
interview new personnel. It says
here you went to the University of
California, and Majored in
Sociology, Minored in Psychology.
You obtained a Master's Degree am
I correct.

Brian looks up from the paper and at the man for the first
time.

                       KEITH
That's correct, I also worked for
Talon Industries for two years
after that sir, so I believe I am
prepared for this position.

                       BRIAN
Yes, I see that. Well if you'll
answer a few questions for me I
think we can get you started.

17.

INT. MCCALLEN CORP.-PARKING STRUCTURE - DAY

A green sedan pulls in hurriedly at a parking spot and a
short stocky man exits the vehicle. He then enters the
nearest elevator.

INT. MCCALLEN CORP.-SECRETARY DESK - DAY

The man we saw previously was Dillon James, Brian's old
friend.

                       DILLON
I need to speak with Brian right
now.

                       SECRETARY
Do you have an appointment sir?

                       DILLON
No I need to see him now. It's
very important.

                       SECRETARY
Sir without an appointment I'm
afraid you'll have to wait he's in
a meeting right now.

                       DILLON
THIS CAN'T FUCKING WAIT!

                       SECRETARY
Sir I'll have to ask you to calm
down or leave.

                       DILLON
Call him, call and tell him I'm
here...DO IT!

The secretary reaches for the phone and pushes a number.
Dillon waits impatiently.

                       SECRETARY
Security, there's a man...

Dillon starts toward Brian's office door in a rush and
swings it open.

                       SECRETARY
YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE!

Dillon moves with a purpose as the doors fling open to

18.

Brian's office. Brian and the young man, Keith, are now
standing a shaking hands, noticing the man moving swiftly
towards them they both turn.

                       DILLON
We need to talk NOW!

Keith looks at Brian questioningly.

                       BRIAN
It's alright,I apologize for my
friend. Go ahead and speak with
Teri outside she'll let you know
when you can come back.

The young man picks up his briefcase and begins to head
toward the door as he passes Dillon he pauses for a moment
looking him in the eyes. Dillon pays no attention to the
man and moves towards Brian's desk. Keith continues to exit
the office.

                       BRIAN
      (MOTIONING FOR
       DILLON TO TAKE A
       SEAT)
What are you doing disrupting my
offices like this Dillon?

                       DILLON
      (STILL STANDING)
Look I've been getting some
seriously harsh phone calls.

                       BRIAN
      (LIGHTING A
       CIGARETTE)
So why not go to the police?

                       DILLON
They're about Jack...

As Dillon finishes his statement two security guards rush in
to the office both with their hands on their holstered
pistols.

                       SECURITY GUARD1
      (TO BRIAN)
Everything O.K. sir?

                       BRIAN
      (NOT TAKING HIS
       EYES OFF DILLON)
Everythings under control Jay,
thank you.

19.

The two guards turn cautiously toward the exit.

                       BRIAN
Shut the doors on your way out
please.

As the doors shut Dillon begins to explain again.

                       DILLON
This guy he's been calling me...it
started about a week ago. He's
been asking questions and he says
he knows what we did.

Brian stands up and moves to a small bar set up in his
office.

                       BRIAN
      (POURING TWO
       DRINKS)
So you think he's telling the
truth?

                       DILLON
      (PULLING HIS
       FINGERS THROUGH
       HIS HAIR)
What else could it be Brian? He
knows.

Brian turns and heads toward his desk with the drinks he
hands one to Dillon and then sits back down.

                       BRIAN
Look this guy may know something
but to what extent we don't know.
If he really had proof he would
have went to the police instead of
harrassing you. Has he made any
demands? Is he asking for money?

                       DILLON
      (TAKING A DRINK)
No...not money.

                       BRIAN
Then what, what does he want.

                       DILLON
      (FINISHING THE
       BEVERAGE)
He...He wants my life, Brian.

20.

                       BRIAN
He's threatening you? He's got
some nerve.

                       DILLON
He says he's going to make us
pay...for what we did to Jack.

                       BRIAN
Look go home and if he calls you
again give me a call, and we'll
find out exactly what he knows.
Apparently he knows something and
that's not good, but I wouldn't
worry about it, just get some
rest.

Dillon gets up to leave and nods at Brian. Dillon's
frustration and anxiety show on his face, but he gathers
himself up enough to leave.

INT. MCCALLEN CORP.-PARKING STRUCTURE - DAY

Dillon heads back toward his car fumbling with his keys he
makes a paranoid glance over each shoulder then begins to
unlock the vehicle. Suddenly, a masked man slams him up
against the car and puts a cloth over his mouth. Dillon
attempts to struggle free but collapses into his attackers
arms. The masked man then proceeds to drag him to a Black
van and shoves him into the back. A moment passes and the
van drives off and out of the parking structure.

INT. BRIAN'S OFFICE - DAY

Brian downs the last of his drink and then picks up his
phone.

                       BRIAN
Yes, Teri, Cancel the rest of my
day. I'll be heading
home...yes...no, have anyone if
it's important call my Cell...ok,
thank you.

He hangs up the phone and sits back lighting a cigarette. A
moment passes and his eyes grow large he snuffs out the
cigarette in the nearby ash tray and picks up his phone
again.

                       BRIAN
...Yea, Sean. We need to talk...
