FADE IN:

EXT. COUNTRY ROAD - NIGHT

Under a dense cloud of low lying mist and driving rain, an
old BUICK meanders along a quiet stretch of tree lined
country road.
The BUICK navigates the twists and turns of the narrow,
poorly lit road with it's headlights on full beam. It's
tires SPLASH through the pooling rainfall.

INT. CAR - NIGHT

A YOUNG MAN, 25, bespectacled, Harvard Grad has a white
knuckle grip on the steering wheel. He edges forward in his
seat as he squints and strains to see the road ahead.
The old wiper blades are on overdrive as they SWISH back and
forth against the relentless torrent of rain pounding
against the windshield.

A light flickers on the dash. The young man glances at the
gas gage which shows empty.

                       YOUNG MAN
We need gas.

A YOUNG WOMAN, 22, straight laced, Pre-med major stares at a
map, illuminated only by a small overhead reading light.

                       YOUNG WOMAN
I told you to stop at the last gas
station.

                       YOUNG MAN
I know, I should have listened to
you.

                       YOUNG WOMAN
      (getting
       frustrated)
There's supposed to be a town
around here, somewhere.

                       YOUNG MAN
      (reaching for the
       map)
Here, let me see that ...

The car swerves sharply to one side. The young man fights
with the steering wheel. The young woman lets out a short,
sharp squeal.

2.

EXT. CAR - NIGHT

The BUICK'S tire's SCREAM as it's hastily jerked back on
track.

INT. CAR - NIGHT

The young woman bites her lip and glares at the young man.

                       YOUNG WOMAN
      (raises her voice)
Just keep your hands on the wheel!
... Please!

                       YOUNG MAN
I'm sorry! ... Alright!

                       YOUNG WOMAN
If you had listened to me we'd be
half way to Charlotte by now.

                       YOUNG MAN
I know! I know!

                       YOUNG WOMAN
      (calming herself)
According to the map, we should be
pretty close to someplace called
Ridgeview.

                       YOUNG MAN
Lets hope so.

The young woman, suddenly jumps in her seat and points to a
dimly lit building up ahead.

                       YOUNG WOMAN
      (excitedly)
Up there! ... On the left!

                       YOUNG MAN
Is it a gas station?

                       YOUNG WOMAN
I think so.

                       YOUNG MAN
Yes!

3.

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

The BUICK slowly pulls up to the solitary gas pump. The Gas
station is in need of repair. A crudely constructed homemade
sign swings forcefully back and forth as it RATTLES on it's
hinges.
The wind swirls, scattering brush and other debris around
the derelict building.

INT. CAR - NIGHT

The young man and woman both gaze at the solitary figure
sitting in the office.

                       YOUNG WOMAN
Is it open?

                       YOUNG MAN
Looks like someone's in there.

                       YOUNG WOMAN
Don't be long.

                       YOUNG MAN
      (joking)
Do you think it's full service?

                       YOUNG WOMAN
      (not laughing)
Very funny!

                       YOUNG MAN
I really need to use the bathroom.
Do you think old Jethro in there
will fill us up? ... Or is that
wishful thinking?

                       YOUNG WOMAN
Just go!

Young man opens the car door.

                       YOUNG MAN
Shit! I'm going to get soaked.

The young man exits the car.

The young woman reaches into the glove compartment, takes
out her MP3 player and puts on a set of headphones.

4.

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

With the wind and rain swirling around him, the young man
covers his head with his jacket and hurries to the office.

INT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

The young man shakes himself down and scans the tiny office.
There is an old style cash register on the counter and not
much else. He looks at the haggard looking old man who
sports a sullied old fishing hat with numerous decorative
hooks on it.
The old man's eyes are fixed on his girlie magazine.

                       YOUNG MAN
      (trying to get the
       man's attention)
Excuse me sir... Do you have a
bathroom? ... And, can I get a
fill up?

The old man, without looking up hands him a key and points
to the side of the building.
The young man takes the key and walks backwards to the door.

                       YOUNG MAN
      (whispering
       mockingly to
       himself)
Nice place you've got here.

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

The young man exits the office.
He looks toward the car and flashes the key in the direction
of the young woman. She gazes in the opposite direction,
dreaming of a nice warm bath and a glass of Chardonnay.
He locates the bathroom, fights with the lock and enters.

INT. GAS STATION - BATHROOM - NIGHT

The young man pauses inside the tiny, dark bathroom. He
immediately covers his nose and mouth unable to stand the
wretched smell of stale urine.
His hand locates a light switch. He repeatedly flicks it up
and down. It remains dark.
His eyes slowly move from side to side as he tiptoes warily
to the urinal. He hastily unzips his pants and sighs as he
relieves himself. He finishes and zips himself up. As he
turns to leave, he suddenly feels the pain of a cold steel

blade being rammed into his abdomen. The unseen, SCARY
KILLER watches the young man grimace as he repeatedly
thrusts the blade in and out of the young man's body. With
one final, almighty thrust of the knife, the young man
GRUNTS as his body goes limp and slumps to the ground.
The unseen killer peers down at the young man's body.

                       SCARY KILLER
Welcome to Ridgeview, son.

INT. CAR - NIGHT

The young woman scoots around in her seat. She looks into
the office and BLAST'S the horn twice. As she leans back in
her seat, a pair of strong arms wrap themselves around her
neck. She is yanked into the back seat kicking and screaming
by the unseen, SCARY ACCOMPLICE whose hand quickly silences
the screams with two swift, forceful SLAPS.
The accomplice peers at the unseen, killer as he jumps into
the SUV. They both peek at the old man in the office. His
eyes are firmly fixed on his magazine.
They drive off.

EXT. CONSTITUTION DRIVE - DAY

SUPER: "FIVE YEARS LATER."

COLE HART, 18, a tall, athletic, all American young stud runs
along a narrow stretch of country road.
He strides along with ease while listening to ROCK MUSIC
which plays on his ipod. Perspiration runs down his face
leaving a large wet stain on his sky blue tank top.
He approaches a curve in the road and glances up at a beat
up sign which reads "CONSTITUTION DRIVE."
He peeks at his watch then gazes at the long road ahead of
him. He quickens his pace.
He races past an abandoned old gas station as his focus
shifts from one derelict property to the next.
He approaches a dense, wooded stretch of road engulfed by
thick trees and bushes.
He is startled and forced to stop abruptly as an old beat up
SUV pulls in front of him from an overgrown, concealed
driveway.
The driver, CYRUS HIMCHEL, mid forties, disheveled with
bloodshot red eyes and long straggly white hair sprouting
from both sides of a well worn baseball cap glares at Cole,
then hits the gas, leaving Cole standing in a cloud of dust.
Cole leans forward, hands on knees and coughs. He watches
the old pick up zigzag down the deserted road.

6.

                       COLE
      (angry)
Asshole!

Cole takes a deep breath, rechecks his watch and heads for
home. He crosses railroad tracks on the outskirts of town. A
sign reads "WELCOME TO RIDGEVIEW."
Cole runs down Main street which is lined with small mom and
pop stores.

EXT. COLE'S HOUSE - DAY

Cole approaches a single family home with a nicely manicured
front yard.
Out of breath, he drags himself up the driveway.
He pauses at the side door, leading to the kitchen.
He looks through the window and sees his father, JOE HART,
middle fifties, a tall strapping man with a strikingly short
Army style buzz cut locked in an embrace with his mother,
DEBBIE HART, late forties, petite, attractive looking blond
with the figure of someone half her age.

INT. HOUSE-KITCHEN - DAY

Cole barges into the kitchen.

                       JOE
      (spins around)
Jesus, Cole! ... You scared the
hell out of me.

7.

                       COLE
      (smirking)
I guess so.

Debbie straightens her hair and fusses with her blouse and
skirt.

                       DEBBIE
      (embarrassed)
Breakfast will be ready in a
couple of minutes.

Cole darts through the kitchen and heads for the stairs.

                       COLE (o.s)
      (voice raised)
Don't have time, Mom. I'm late.
Some, crazy hillbilly nearly ran
me over.

                       JOE
Where?

                       COLE (o.s)
Down Constitution.

                       JOE
How many times have I told you?
You shouldn't run down there! It's
not safe!

Cole appears at the kitchen door.

                       COLE
Relax, Dad. I can take care of
myself.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

Cole runs upstairs. Debbie, hands on hips, yells.

                       DEBBIE
Randy! Are you awake?

INT. UPSTAIRS - DAY

Cole bursts into Randy's room.

                       COLE
Wake up, Fag!

8.

RANDY HART, 16, Cole's younger brother is skinny, wears
glasses and his awkward look fits the mold of your
stereotypical "geek."
Cole removes his sweaty shorts and rubs them in Randy's face
as Randy fumbles for his glasses.

                       RANDY
      (yelling)
Dick-head!

Cole, laughs as he runs into the bathroom and turns on the
shower.

                       RANDY (o.s)
Cole, wait! I gotta pee.

Randy jumps out of bed and dashes to the bathroom. He turns
the door knob, but it won't budge.

                       RANDY
      (kicks the door)
What the hell, man?

Randy stomps back to his bedroom and dresses quickly. He
runs downstairs and enters the small bathroom at the foot of
the stairs.

INT. DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM - DAY

Randy sighs with relief as he urinates.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

                       DEBBIE
      (yelling)
Is that you, Randy? Breakfast's
ready!

Randy strolls into the kitchen. His mother is at the stove
flipping pancakes. His father sits at the table reading his
newspaper.

                       DEBBIE
      (pointing at the
       table)
Cereal's there, dear. Pancakes
will be right up.

Randy grabs a seat and digs into his cereal.

9.

                       JOE
Braves won last night. Walk off
home run in the bottom of the
tenth.

                       RANDY
What's "walk off" mean?

                       JOE
Never mind. Just finish your
breakfast.

Debbie puts a plate of hot pancakes in front of Randy.

                       DEBBIE
Where's that brother of yours?

                       RANDY
Probably jerking off.

                       DEBBIE
Randy!

                       JOE
      (to Randy)
Was that necessary?

Cole strides into the kitchen, combing his hair.

                       COLE
      (looking at Randy)
If you want a ride you've got two
minutes.

                       DEBBIE
Whats the rush?

                       JOE
Hey, Cole, how about those braves
last night?

                       COLE
Sorry, Dad, gotta get going. I'm
picking Taylor up this morning.

Randy rolls his eyes as he polishes off the last spoonful of
cereal.

                       RANDY
      (under his breath)
Taylor, Taylor, Taylor.

10.

                       COLE
Watch your mouth, or you'll be
eating that spoon.

                       DEBBIE
Guys, knock it off!

                       JOE
      (folding his paper)
I'm off.

Joe gets up and kisses Debbie on the cheek. He exits the
kitchen.

Cole and Randy kiss Debbie. Randy grabs his book bag and
follows Cole out of the kitchen.

EXT. HOUSE - DAY

Cole and Randy climb into Cole's nearly new Black Chevy
truck which is parked in the driveway.

INT. COLE'S TRUCK - DAY

Cole turns up the volume on the radio which plays HEAVY
METAL music.
Randy covers his ears with his hands.

                       RANDY
      (yelling)
That's too loud!

Cole laughs. He stares at Randy, shrugs his shoulders and
mouths the word, "WHAT."

Joe exits the house through the front door and waves to the
boys. Cole, waves his hand and quickly reverses the truck
off the driveway and accelerates down the street.

EXT. TAYLOR'S HOUSE - DAY

Cole's truck arrives at Taylor's house. He hits the horn
twice.

TAYLOR LEE exits the front door. Strikingly attractive with
long dark brown hair, she has a figure to die for and knows
it. She is provocatively dressed in a skin tight sweater and
a short mini skirt.
She sashays down the driveway and opens the front passenger
side door.

11.

                       COLE
      (to Randy)
In the back, kid.

Randy reluctantly gets out.

INT. COLE'S TRUCK - DAY

Randy hops into the back seat.

                       RANDY
Happy?

                       TAYLOR
      (to Cole)
What's he doing here?

                       RANDY
      (butts in)
I'm here to totally annoy you.

                       TAYLOR
      (looking at Randy)
And, I'm gonna totally smack you.

                       RANDY
      (putting his hands
       on cheeks)
I'm so scared.

                       COLE
Knock it off!

Taylor throws herself at Cole and gives him a long searching
kiss.

                       COLE
      (breaking away
       from the kiss)
What was that for?

                       TAYLOR
Do I need a reason?

                       COLE
Save it for later ... Yeah.

                       TAYLOR
Plenty more where that came from
babe.

12.

                       RANDY
      (impatiently)
Can we go please? We're gonna be
late!

Cole glares at Randy with an annoyed look. He jams the truck
in gear and accelerates.

LATER

Cole's truck approaches the high school. They see an old SUV
parked a few hundred feet from the school entrance.

                       COLE
That SUV up there looks familiar.

Cole slows his truck almost to a crawl.
As they slowly pass the parked SUV they curiously look at a
scruffy looking middle aged man and a girl wearing large
dark glasses.
The two figures in the truck return the look with equal
intensity.

                       RANDY
Whoa, look at those guys.

                       COLE
I think that's the same dude that
almost ran me over this morning.

                       TAYLOR
Freaks!

Cole parks his truck in the school parking lot. They exit
the truck.

EXT. SCHOOL - DAY

Cole, Taylor and Randy gaze at the parked SUV as they cross
the street and head for the school entrance.
There is a hive of activity with students milling around
shooting the breeze with each other. A steady stream of cars
funnel into the parking lot.
RIDGEVIEW HIGH School is a modern looking structure. It's
entrance is elevated up a flight of concrete steps and
flanked by two large regal looking LION'S.
Cole and Taylor are greeted by friends. They high five each
other and congregate at the foot of the steps leading up to
the school entrance. Randy stands alone, spurned by the
others.
Cole points in the direction of the SUV.

13.

                       COLE
Yo, Look it.

Exiting the parked SUV is SARA HIMCHEL, 17, a pencil thin,
petite girl with lily white hair sporting a rather bulky
pair of dark glasses. Her clothes suggest the look of a
conservative "plain Jane".

                       TAYLOR
      (twisting her face)
What is ... That?

                       COLE
      (quick witted)
Randy's new girl.

Everyone laughs, except for Randy.

                       RANDY
Very funny!

They all stare as Sara trots up the steps and into school.

INT. SCHOOL - DAY

Sara wanders the hallway looking for her locker. The
corridor is full of busy students. Many of them stare and
make comments as they pass Sara. Cole, Taylor and friends
follow Sara as Randy lags behind.
Sara finds her locker. Taylor strides up to Sara and grabs a
handful of her long white hair.

                       SARA
      (startled)
Hey! ...

                       TAYLOR
What's up, old lady? ... What's
with the hair and glasses?

                       COLE
      (laughing)
Halloween's not for another month.

                       SARA
Let go of my hair!

Taylor releases her grip on Sara's hair.

                       SARA
Why did you do that?

14.

                       TAYLOR
      (pokes Sara in the
       chest)
Cos, I felt like it.

                       SARA
I don't want any trouble ... It's
my first day.

                       TAYLOR
      (sarcastically)
Oh really, you're first day.
(turns to the group and laughs) I
can see we're gonna have some fun
with this one.

Randy jumps in front of Sara and shields her from Taylor.

                       RANDY
Leave her alone, Taylor. Pick on
someone your own size.

                       TAYLOR
      (turns to Cole)
Are you gonna let him speak to me
like that?

Cole whacks Randy across the head. They all saunter down the
hall, laughing.

                       RANDY
      (rubbing his head)
Jerks!

                       SARA
I'm Sara ... Sara Himchel.

Randy turns to face Sara.

                       RANDY
      (nervously)
I'm Randy ... Err, sorry I wasn't
much help ... That was my asshole
brother and his queen bitch
girlfriend.

                       SARA
You o.k?

                       RANDY
I'm fine. My parents keep telling
me I'm thick headed.

15.

                       SARA
I'm sorry. You didn't have to get
hurt because of me.

                       RANDY
Don't worry about it. I'll spit in
his mouth when he's asleep.

                       SARA
      (laughs)
I gotta go. I'm late for class.
Maybe we can talk later?

                       RANDY
Sure.

Sara backs up, smiles at Randy and ambles down the hallway.
Sara finds her classroom and enters.

INT. CLASSROOM - DAY

Sara sits at an unoccupied desk. She senses an eerie
silence.
Her ears perk when she hears the whispers. She scans the
classroom, forcing a fake smile.

                       TEACHER
Welcome, students. For those of
you who don't know me, my name is
Mrs. James. You of course may call
me Mrs. James. (a few fake laughs
are heard).

The teacher takes attendance.

                       TEACHER
Sara Himchel.

                       SARA
      (raising her hand)
Here.

The students snicker. Cole and Taylor laugh out loud.

                       TEACHER
Quiet! ... Class, I would like to
welcome our new student, Sara
Himchel.

The students laugh.

16.

                       TEACHER
If I hear any more of that
childish giggling in my classroom,
those responsible will be making
an early trip to the principals
office ... Is that understood?

A few mumblings of "Yes Miss" are heard.

The teacher instructs the class to open their books.

MONTAGE - TEACHER TAKES CLASS

-- Teacher asks a question.

-- Sara raises her hand.

-- The clock on the wall reads ten o'clock.

-- Teacher writes on the chalk board.

-- Sara raises her hand.

-- The clock on the wall reads ten thirty.

-- Taylor and Cole whisper to each other.

END MONTAGE

The teacher intercepts a note that Taylor passes to Cole.
She reads the note. It says, "TEACHER'S PET BITCH."

                       TEACHER
      (displeased)
Principals office, Miss Lee! Now!

Taylor jumps out of her seat and glares at the teacher. She
stares at Sara. Sara avoids eye contact.

The bell rings. The students file out of the classroom in
an orderly fashion.

                       TEACHER
Sara, can I speak to you, please?

Sara approaches the teacher's desk.

                       TEACHER
I'm sorry, Sara. I didn't want
anything like that to happen on
your first day.

17.

                       SARA
I'm used to it, Miss.

                       TEACHER
That doesn't make it right.

                       SARA
I'm o.k.

                       TEACHER
I'll be keeping my eye on those
two in future.

                       SARA
Me too.

                       TEACHER
The principal informed us that you
would be in class today. He told
us that you have a type of genetic
disorder.

                       SARA
Albinism.

                       TEACHER
I'm sure it hasn't been easy for
you ... with other people and that
...

                       SARA
It used to get to me when I was
younger, but now ... I try to
ignore it.

                       TEACHER
If you ever need to talk, you know
where to find me.

                       SARA
      (smiling)
Thank you, Miss.

INT. CAFETERIA - DAY

Students swarm around the large cafeteria. Sara sits alone
at a table picking at her lunch. She briefly scans the room.
She notices the stares. Randy approaches her table.

                       RANDY
Sara, right?

18.

                       SARA
      (smiling)
Yeah, Randy, right?

They both laugh.

                       RANDY
Mind if I join you?

                       SARA
Well, if you don't mind sitting
next to the freakiest girl in the
school, then sit!

                       RANDY
Then, I guess that makes us the
weirdest couple in school. Most
kids think I'm the biggest dork in
Ridgeview, especially my brother
and his friends.

                       SARA
You mean, Cole and err ...

                       RANDY
Taylor Lee. Prom queen, bitch.

                       SARA
I don't think she likes me.

                       RANDY
She doesn't like anyone, except
for the self centered, band of
bimbos that follow her around like
puppy dogs.

                       SARA
      (giggles)
And what about your brother?

                       RANDY
Cole? The only thing he cares
about is himself.

                       SARA
Doesn't sound like you have much
in common.

                       RANDY
That's because I'm adopted ... No,
No. Just kidding.

19.

                       SARA
Randy!

                       RANDY
Sorry. I get a little crazy when
I'm nervous.

                       SARA
At least, you talk.

                       RANDY
Give it time, you'll make friends.

                       SARA
Don't look now.

Randy turns and sees Cole, Taylor and friends approaching
the table.

                       COLE
Hey, bro. I see you've finally got
yourself a girlfriend ... So,
who's the lucky lady?

                       VINCE
Old lady more like it.

Everyone laughs except for Randy and Sara.

                       RANDY
Shut up, asshole!

VINCE, 18, Cole's best friend and school bruiser, grabs
Randy by his shirt collar.
Randy picks up his food tray and smacks Vince across the
face with it. Vince turns away clutching the side of his
face.
Everyone in the lunch room stands and cheers loudly.
Cole grabs Randy in a bear hug. Sara stumbles back away from
the table and loses her glasses in the melee. Suddenly,
there is silence. Everyone stops and stares at Sara's
conspicuous bloodshot eyes.
Taylor bursts out laughing.
Sara runs out of the cafeteria.
Randy breaks free of Cole, picks up Sara's glasses and runs
after her.

EXT. SCHOOL - DAY

Sara explodes out of the school entrance. She tears down the
street. Randy chases after her.

20.

                       RANDY
      (yelling)
Sara, wait! ... wait!

Sara slows to a stop. She cradles her head in her hands and
cries.
Randy catches up.

                       RANDY
Here's your glasses.

Sara wipes her eyes and puts on her glasses.

                       SARA
Why does everyone hate me? Am I
really that ugly?

                       RANDY
Don't talk like that.

                       SARA
Why not? It's true!

                       RANDY
No! It's not!

                       SARA
      (drying her eyes)
I'm sorry. This isn't fair on you.

Randy awkwardly reaches for her shoulder.

                       RANDY
Come on. I'll walk you home.

                       SARA
What about school?

                       RANDY
I'll go back later. It's no big
deal.

They start walking.

EXT. CONSTITUTION DRIVE - DAY

Randy and Sara stroll down Constitution Drive.
They pause at an old run down property. An old man smoking a
cigarette sways back and forth in a rocker on his front
porch.
Randy peeks at Sara. She nods her head at the old man.
They continue to walk.

21.

                       RANDY
You know him?

                       SARA
No. Why do you ask?

                       RANDY
You kind of gave him a nod.

                       SARA
No, I didn't.

                       RANDY
I saw you.

                       SARA
Just being friendly. What does it
matter? ... Just an old man
sitting on his porch.

                       RANDY
      (changing the
       subject)
So, where do you live?

                       SARA
At the bottom end of Constitution
... I'll be okay from here.

                       RANDY
I don't mind. I can walk you ...

Suddenly, an SUV SCREECHES to a stop in front of them. Cyrus
jumps out of the truck and approaches them. Randy backs up.
Sara steps in front of Randy.

                       SARA
Daddy! It's okay. This is Randy.
He's my friend!

Cyrus glares at Randy.

                       CYRUS
What is the nature of your
friendship with my daughter, boy?

                       RANDY
      (stammering)
I ... I ... just.

                       CYRUS
Spit it out, boy.

22.

                       SARA
Some of the other kids were... you
know teasing and stuff and Randy
stood up for me.

                       CYRUS
Get in the truck, girl.

Sara scurries to the truck.

Cyrus gets in Randy's face.

                       CYRUS
Anyone fucks with my daughter boy
and they'll have me to answer to
... Got it?

                       RANDY
      (scared to death)
Yes sir ... I got it.

Cyrus returns to his truck and jumps in. It accelerates off
at high speed.

                       RANDY
      (looking shell
       shocked)
Holy shit!

INT. CYRUS'S SUV - DAY

Cyrus drives his truck up to a large, dilapidated old house
which sits deep in the woods. The exterior is pitted with
holes and indentations. Windows are broken and a screen door
hangs from it's hinges. An assortment of rusted old cars and
bikes are strewn around the property. Dogs, cats and
chickens wander freely. Garbage burns in a large bonfire
pit.
Cyrus parks the SUV and looks at Sara.

                       CYRUS
What's the matter? ... Cat got
your tongue?

                       SARA
No.

                       CYRUS
Somebody messing with you?

                       SARA
I don't feel like talking.

23.

                       CYRUS
If you're getting shit, I want to
know about it.

Cyrus and Sara both exit the SUV.

EXT. CYRUS'S HOUSE - DAY

Cyrus aims a kick at a passing chicken. Three younger albino
children run in circles around Sara. Cyrus's younger albino
brother, HARVEY, twenties, with an I.Q to match, sits on a
tree stump, a beer in one hand and an Axe in the other.

                       CYRUS
      (to Harvey)
Are you gonna play with that
fucking Axe or chop wood with it?

                       HARVEY
How was school, Sara?

                       SARA
Don't ask.

                       CYRUS
      (to Harvey)
Hey, dip-shit. I asked you a
fucking question.

                       HARVEY
I'm tired.

Cyrus snatches the beer out of Harvey's hand.

                       CYRUS
Lazy piece of shit.

Cyrus and Sara enter the house.

INT. CYRUS'S HOUSE - DAY

Sara's, albino mom, ARLENE, a thirty, yet going on fifty,
crack addict, with a distinctively bad make up job sits at
the kitchen table. She has a beer in one hand and a
cigarette in the other.

                       ARLENE
      (to Sara)
You're back early.

24.

                       SARA
I had a migraine.

Arlene pulls Sara close to her. Sara squirms, unable to
stand the stench of stale alcohol and cigarettes.

                       ARLENE
My poor baby.

                       SARA
      (pulling away)
Mom, please.

                       CYRUS
Poor baby, my ass!

                       ARLENE
Shut the fuck up Cyrus ... What do
you know about migraines?

                       CYRUS
Migraines my ass! First fucking
day in school and the same shit
happens.

                       ARLENE
What happened ,baby?

                       SARA
Nothing.

                       CYRUS
Just tell me, who's been fucking
with you?

Cyrus grabs a beer from the fridge.

                       SARA
      (yells)
Can we just drop it?

                       CYRUS
One of them even had the fucking
balls to walk her home.

                       SARA
That was Randy! He was just being
nice.

                       CYRUS
      (mockingly)
Just being nice.

25.

                       ARLENE
Well, at least you made a friend,
sweetie.

                       CYRUS
I've had enough of this shit. Get
your ass in the bedroom, Arlene.

Arlene stands up and heads for the door.

                       ARLENE
Do your school work, honey.

Cyrus slaps Arlene on the ass as they leave the kitchen.
Sara forlornly opens her back pack and retrieves her
schoolwork which she begins to work on.
Her concentration is broken with a plethora of sounds coming
from the bedroom. She hears laughter and cursing
intermingled with MOANS and GROANS. She feels the table
shake as the noise level grows ending with a loud scream,
then silence.

Sara angrily bangs her fist on the table.

                                         CUT TO

EXT. SCHOOL - DAY

The school bell rings. Students pour out of the building.
Randy dashes to the parking lot and cowers behind Cole's
truck.
Students mingle and socialize freely. Others jump in their
vehicles, rev their engines and cruise around the parking
lot.

                       RANDY
      (jumping up and
       down)
Come on, Cole. Where are you?

Out of nowhere, Vince appears. Randy attempts to run past
him. Vince hoists Randy off the ground. Cole, Taylor and
Vince's cute blond girlfriend, JAN, look on.

                       VINCE
You and me have some unfinished
business.

                       RANDY
Wait, Vince. I didn't mean to ...

Vince throws Randy to the ground. A cheering crowd gathers.

26.

                       RANDY
      (pleading)
I'm sorry. Alright?

                       VINCE
Too late for that.

Vince draws back his fist.

                       COLE
      (grabbing Vince)
Yo! Vince. Jesus man, you were
supposed to scare him, not beat
the shit out of him.

                       VINCE
      (struggling with
       Cole)
He's been asking for this.

                       COLE
Look, I know he's an annoying
little shit, but how the hell
would I explain this to my
parents. Err ... "Sorry mom and
dad, but my best friend just beat
the crap out of my younger
brother."

Vince slowly drops his fist. Cole releases his grip on
Vince.

                       VINCE
      (to Randy)
What the fuck! It's your lucky
day, retard.

Cole pats Vince on the back.

                       COLE
Go cool off. I'll take care of
him.

Vince pauses.

                       COLE
Go! I'll catch you later ...

Vince nods and walks off.

27.

                       COLE
      (yells at Vince)
Hey! What do you say we go have
some fun at Crazy Lenny's tonight.

                       VINCE
Yeah, call me.

                       COLE
      (picking up Randy)
You don't know how lucky you are
to still have those teeth in your
mouth.

                       RANDY
He's a pussy!

                       COLE
      (throws Randy)
Get your ass in the truck.

Cole, Taylor and Randy climb into the truck and drive off.

                                         CUT TO

INT. HOUSE - NIGHT

Randy lounges on the sofa watching television with his
parents.

                       RANDY
      (to mom)
There was a new girl in school
today ... She's cool and that, but
she's got albinism.

                       JOE
      (laughing)
Sounds painful.

                       DEBBIE
Joe! Please!

                       JOE
Sorry. Bad joke.

                       RANDY
She's really smart and nice and
...

28.

                       DEBBIE
      (cutting in)
I'm sure she is, Randy, but don't
get ahead of yourself. Remember,
Denise.

                       RANDY
That was different.

                       DEBBIE
No, it wasn't. You were obsessed
with her ... You hardly knew the
girl.

                       RANDY
I thought she liked me.

                       DEBBIE
      (looking at Joe)
Feel free to jump in any time.

                       JOE
I'm staying out of this one.

                       DEBBIE
      (looking
       scornfully at Joe)
So, where does this girl live?

                       RANDY
South side of Constitution Drive
... I think.

Joe coughs up a mouthful of beer.

                       JOE
I don't want you going down there.

                       RANDY
Why not?

                       JOE
Because it's not safe! Thats why!

                       RANDY
Cole and his buddies hang out down
there.

                       JOE
      (getting upset)
Well, they shouldn't. Damn it!

29.

                       DEBBIE
Your Father's right. Some years
back ...

                       JOE
      (cutting her off)
Debbie!

                       DEBBIE
I'm just trying to ...

                       JOE
A few years ago there were reports
of a couple of kids that went
missing down there. They were
never heard of again. Police came
up with nothing ... As usual.

                       DEBBIE
People thought that maybe Crazy
Lenny had something to do with it,
cos he worked at the old gas
station.

                       RANDY
So, what happened?

                       JOE
People in town were still
suspicious of Lenny, so he moved
down Constitution Drive.

                       RANDY
Did he have to move?

                       JOE
Lets just say, people made it
clear that he wasn't welcome in
town anymore.

                       DEBBIE
Pretty much everyone just leaves
him be now.

                       RANDY
Except Cole and his gang.

                       DEBBIE
There's still a lot of other shady
folk that live down there.

30.

                       JOE
Look, Randy. I'm sure this girl's
nice, but listen to your mom and
stay away.

                       RANDY
      (turns back to
       watch t.v)
Whatever!

Joe and Debbie roll their eyes.

                                         CUT TO

INT. COLE'S TRUCK - NIGHT

Cole, Taylor, Vince, Jan and DANNY, pothead and wanna be
"jock", are in Cole's truck as they head down Constitution
Drive.
Taylor, in the passenger seat, rubs Cole's thigh.
Vince and Jan are in a lip lock in the back seat.
Danny takes a swig of his beer and stares out of the window.
Loud ROCK MUSIC BLASTS on the radio.
They arrive at Lenny's property.
Cole spins the truck across Lenny's front yard. Tires
SQUEAL. Everyone yells and screams, egging, Cole on.

EXT. CRAZY LENNY'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Cole stops the truck. He and Vince jump out and launch empty
beer bottles onto Lenny's front porch. Vince grabs his
baseball bat and smashes Lenny's mailbox. Dogs bark.
CRAZY LENNY, mid sixties, has the disheveled look of a man
that hasn't bathed in months. He is never without his
sullied old fishing hat. He wields his trusty shotgun,
yelling as he fires a single shot into the air.
Cole and Vince scamper back to the truck and high tail it
off the property.
Lenny storms into the house.

INT. HOUSE - NIGHT

                       CRAZY LENNY
      (looks at the
       barking dogs)
Shut the fuck up!

Lenny picks up a bottle of JOHNNY WALKER from the table and
takes a long, stiff swig. He has fire in his eyes. He swipes
his half eaten dinner off the table. He picks up a small

31.

wooden chair and hurls it against the wall shattering the
one and only mirror in his sparsely furnished trailer.

EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT

Lenny steps out onto the front porch.

He takes a long look up at the moon. He takes another swig
of WHISKEY. It trickles down his chin, onto his shirt.
He spits a wad and crushes a grasshopper sitting on one of
the porch rails.

                       CRAZY LENNY
      (looking upwards)
You kids have pushed old Lenny too
far this time ... too damn far!

INT. COLE'S TRUCK - NIGHT

Everyone is in a party mood.

                       COLE
Did you see the look on that old
bastard's face?

                       VINCE
Holy shit! Was he pissed?

                       COLE
      (turning to Taylor)
Plant one right on those lips,
mama.

Taylor leans over and wraps her arms around Cole's neck and
gives him a deep kiss. The truck swerves from side to side.

                       COLE
      (fights to control
       the truck)
Yee ha!

                       DANNY
You're gonna get us killed!

                       COLE
Shut the hell up, Danny or you'll
be walking home.

Everyone calms themselves.

32.

                       VINCE
Phew! What a night.

The truck arrives at Vince's house. Vince, Jan and Danny all
exit the truck.

                       COLE
Later, guys.

Cole kisses Taylor.

                       COLE
Your basement or mine?

                       TAYLOR
      (snuggling up to
       Cole)
Let's go over to Jefferson Park
and find a quiet spot there.

                       COLE
Sounds good.

                       TAYLOR
      (rubbing Cole's
       crotch)
Hit the gas, big boy!

                       COLE
      (loudly)
Jefferson Park. Here we come!

Cole puts the truck in gear and hits the gas.

EXT. JEFFERSON PARK - NIGHT

Cole's truck enters Jefferson Park. They park in a secluded
grassy area adjacent to the parking lot.

INT. COLE'S TRUCK - NIGHT

Cole puts the truck in park.

                       COLE
Front or back seat?

Taylor jumps into the back seat. She takes off her tank top
and shorts. Cole removes his shirt and leaps into the back
seat. Taylor lies with her head next to the passenger side
door. Cole quickly climbs on top and enters her. They grunt
and gyrate back and forth. Taylor yelps with excitement as

33.

they quickly move towards a climax. Cole shifts his focus
from Taylor's face and glances up at the window above her
head.

                       COLE
      (yells)
Holy shit!

Cole jumps off Taylor as he sees Cyrus's smiling face
staring right at him

                       TAYLOR
What the fuck!

                       COLE
      (shocked)
A face! ... In the window!

                       TAYLOR
What?

Taylor stretches her neck to look out of the window.

                       TAYLOR
There's no one there. What the
hell have you been smoking?

                       COLE
I'm telling you. Some guy was
staring right at me.

                       TAYLOR
      (pulling Cole
       towards her)
Come on, baby. Don't leave me
hanging like this.

                       COLE
Taylor! There's someone out there!

                       TAYLOR
      (getting annoyed)
Probably just some god damn
pervert looking for a cheap
thrill.

Taylor sits up and puts on her shirt. Suddenly there is a
blinding light. Cole and Taylor cover their eyes.

                       TAYLOR
Shit!

Cole jumps into the front seat.

34.

                       COLE
Let's get the fuck out of here!

Cole wrestles with the gear stick.

                       TAYLOR
Hurry! Lets go!

Cole floors it. He looks frantically in his rear view
mirror.

                       COLE
His lights are still on.

                       TAYLOR
      (looking back)
I don't think he's following us.

                       COLE
      (taking a deep
       breath)
Shit man! The guy freaked me out.

                       TAYLOR
Who the hell is he?

                       COLE
I don't know. Some drifter, bum,
sick mother fucker ... How the
hell do I know?

They drive in silence.

                       TAYLOR
      (breaks the
       silence)
I'm scared.

                       COLE
      (calmer)
Look. Probably just some guy
drifting around with nothing
better to do than scare the shit
out of people.

                       TAYLOR
God damn, pervert, if you ask me.

                       COLE
He kinda looked a bit like the
dude we saw this morning ... The
one that dropped off that weirdo
chick.

35.

                       TAYLOR
You think?

                       COLE
I don't know. It was dark and shit
... maybe not.

                       TAYLOR
Whoever he is, I hope we never see
him again.

Cole pulls in front of Taylor's house.

                       TAYLOR
Walk me to the door?

They both exit the truck.

EXT. TAYLOR'S HOUSE - NIGHT

They mosey, hand in hand to the front door. Taylor gives him
a big hug.

                       TAYLOR
I'm not going to be able to sleep
tonight.

                       COLE
Don't worry ... (kissing her)
You'll sleep.

                       TAYLOR
I hope your right ... Night.

Taylor enters the house.

Cole, hands in pockets, head down, walks slowly to his
truck.

INT. COLE'S TRUCK - NIGHT

Cole leans back in his seat and lets out a big sigh. He
opens the glove compartment and finds a flask full of vodka.
He takes a swig, emptying the bottle. He wipes his mouth and
drives off.

INT. COLE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Cole removes his shoes at the front door. He creeps up the
stairs and down the hallway.

36.

He pauses at Randy's room. Randy's door is ajar. Cole peeks
in. Randy is on his bed, watching television.

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

                       RANDY
Where you been?

                       COLE
Down at Crazy Lenny's place ...
Having a laugh.

                       RANDY
Mom and Dad said we should stay
away from there.

                       COLE
What the hell! We were just having
some fun.

                       RANDY
They said some kids went missing
down there and were never found.

                       COLE
Give me a break!

                       RANDY
You don't believe them?

                       COLE
It's just a bunch of drunken old
hillbillies living down there ...
Thats it!

                       RANDY
I think Sara lives somewhere down
there.

                       COLE
Sara who?

                       RANDY
Sara, from school! ... You know,
the one that you and your fagot
friends were picking on today.

                       COLE
The weird chick with the hair and
Ray Charles glasses?

37.

                       RANDY
      (getting agitated)
Very funny.

                       COLE
What makes you think she lives
down there?

                       RANDY
I was walking her home today. We
got halfway down Constitution
Drive, when suddenly, this SUV
pulls up and out jumps this crazy
looking dude ... Almost shit
myself.

                       COLE
What did he look like?

                       RANDY
Scary as hell. Long white hair,
weird eyes, scruffy old baseball
cap ... And he had on this long
black coat.

                       COLE
Damn. I think that's him.

                       RANDY
Who?

                       COLE
Never mind.

                       RANDY
You better watch it, Cole. I
wouldn't mess with this guy.

                       COLE
Who's messing with him?

                       RANDY
You're dicking around with his
daughter. Asshole!

                       COLE
She's his kid?

                       RANDY
Duh! Yeah!

38.

                       COLE
Shit! So what the hell are you
doing hanging with her?

                       RANDY
She likes me.

                       COLE
Oh for gods sake, Randy. You've
known her for ... a day?

                       RANDY
I don't care.

                       COLE
Don't say I didn't warn you.

Cole drifts out of the bedroom. Randy, looking worried,
scratches his head.

                                         CUT TO

EXT. HOUSE - DAY

Randy hops on his bike and rides through quiet neighborhoods
lined with parked cars. He sees people walking and cutting
their grass. Neighbors wave as he passes.

EXT. JEFFERSON PARK - DAY

He speeds through the park entrance and joins the bike
trail. He whistles as he rides. He sees a man wrestle with a
big red kite. He nods at a passing jogger.
He eyes a lonely figure sitting on a park bench as she gazes
out over the lake.

                       RANDY
Sara. Is that you?

Sara is startled.

                       SARA
Hey, Randy ... What are you doing
here?

                       RANDY
Just riding around ... Not much
else to do.

39.

                       SARA
      (stretching)
I really like it here ... It's so
peaceful.

                       RANDY
I guess.

                       SARA
I like to sit and gaze out over
the lake... My visions not that
great but ... I get by.

                       RANDY
Is that because of the Albinism?

                       SARA
Afraid so. I'm supposed to stay
out of the sun as much as possible
... but, you know how that goes.

                       RANDY
What the hell! ... Right?

Randy gets off his bike and parks himself next to Sara.

                       SARA
      (smiling)
Hope my dad didn't scare you too
much, yesterday?

                       RANDY
Scare me? ... Shit, I had to
change my boxers when I got home.

                       SARA
      (laughing)
He's a big pussycat.

                       RANDY
      (rolling his eyes)
I'm sure he is.

                       SARA
Really, he is!

                       RANDY
You didn't get in trouble. Did
you?

40.

                       SARA
Na, I just told him I had a
migraine, and you were nice enough
to walk me home.

                       RANDY
He believed that?

                       SARA
Yes! Now will you stop worrying?

                       RANDY
Was he upset with me? ... I mean
... Did he say anything?

                       SARA
Course not!

                       RANDY
It's just that ...

                       SARA
What?

                       RANDY
Well,my brother thought he saw
your dad last night, here in the
park.

                       SARA
Here?

                       RANDY
Yeah. Cole and Taylor came here
last night after they had busted
up Crazy Lenny's place.

                       SARA
Who's, Crazy Lenny?

                       RANDY
He's that old guy that lives down
Constitution Drive. You saw him
yesterday when I walked you home.

                       SARA
Why do you call him Crazy Lenny?

                       RANDY
I don't know ... Everyone calls
him that ... Funny thing is, most
people don't know anything about
him, except what they say.

41.

                       SARA
      (getting defensive)
What do they say?

                       RANDY
Apparently some years ago a couple
of kids went missing and ... well
... you know.

                       SARA
They think he had something to do
with it?

                       RANDY
Yeah.

                       SARA
      (agitated)
And you believe them?

                       RANDY
No! ... I never said that. I don't
know ... He's just some old guy
living down there ... Hell ...
What do I know?

                       SARA
You shouldn't believe everything
you hear ... Right?

                       RANDY
Right.

                       SARA
      (sternly)
I'm serious, Randy.

                       RANDY
O.k, o.k. Don't get mad.

                       SARA
It really pisses me off when
people get accused of doing
something they didn't do.

Randy turns his head and raises his eyebrows, surprised at
Sara's quick mood change.

                       RANDY
Sorry for bringing it up.

42.

                       SARA
      (mood changes
       quickly back)
So, how about you give me a ride
on that bike of yours?

Randy jumps on his bike.

                       RANDY
O.k. Hop on.

Sara climbs onto the seat and wraps her arms around Randy's
waist. She hangs on for dear life as he starts to pedal.

                       RANDY
Hold on!

                       SARA
      (yells)
Whoa!

Randy rides his bike around the trails in the park for what
seems like an eternity. Sara smiles and laughs.
Randy, exhausted, finally comes to a stop. He slumps over
the handlebars gasping for breath.

                       RANDY
      (turns to Sara)
This is hard work.

                       SARA
That was fun.

They gaze into each others eyes.

                       SARA
I should be getting back.

                       RANDY
I'll take you home ( he catches
himself) Sorry ... Halfway home.

Sara laughs.

EXT. CONSTITUTION DRIVE - DAY

Randy and Sara stroll down Constitution Drive.
They pass Crazy Lenny's property. He sits and sways back and
forth on his old rocker. His dog lies by his feet.

                       SARA
I can manage from here.

43.

                       RANDY
Are you sure? I can walk you the
rest of the way.

                       SARA
I'm sure. I live just past the old
gas station. It's not far ...
Besides I'm still working on dad
... Remember?

                       RANDY
Gotcha.

Randy, jumps on his bike and takes off.Sara watches Randy
leave. He looks back and she waves.
Sara glances at Crazy Lenny. He touches the brim of his hat.
She smiles and skips on down the road.

Randy stops pedaling and slows to a stop. He looks back,
pauses for a second, then turns his bike around and follows
Sara.
He peeks at Crazy Lenny as he passes his property. He spots
Sara in the distance making a turn off the road and into the
woods.

EXT. CYRUS'S HOUSE - DAY

Crouching behind thick brush, Randy watches Sara approach
the house.
Clad in a "wife beater" and jeans, the shoe-less Cyrus steps
out of the house, beer in one hand and cigarette in the
other.

                       CYRUS
Where you been, girl?

                       SARA
The park.

                       CYRUS
With who?

                       SARA
No one!

                       CYRUS
      (spits)
Better not be lying to me girl.

                       SARA
Where's mom?

44.

                       CYRUS
Sleeping.

                       SARA
Drunk, more like it.

Cyrus grabs Sara by the hair and pushes her into the house.

Randy's eyes light up and his mouth drops. He pauses for a
second and scampers toward the side of the house.
Randy spots a small basement window. He squints and
struggles to see anything through the dirty window.
He hears a muffled shriek and a male voice yell "BITCH." He
stumbles backwards and comes face to face with a pretty
young Albino tot, no more than five years old.
Randy freezes for a moment.

                       CYRUS (o.s)
      (yells)
Celia!

Randy puts his finger to his lips.
The little girl turns and runs toward the front of the
house.
Randy, struggling to get to his feet, makes a dash for the
woods.

EXT. BASKETBALL COURT - DAY

Cole, Taylor and friends drink beer and shoot hoops.

                       TAYLOR
      (notices Randy)
Hey, guys. Look who just showed
up.

                       COLE
Sup, bro. Where you been?

                       RANDY
Riding in the park.

                       COLE
      (to Randy)
Wanna beer?

                       RANDY
You know I don't drink.

45.

                       VINCE
      (mockingly)
Might put some hair on that skinny
little chest of yours.

                       RANDY
      (sarcastically)
Good one.

                       COLE
Wanna shoot some hoops?

                       RANDY
I suck at basketball.

                       VINCE
      (taking a jump
       shot)
He sucks at everything!

                       TAYLOR
      (gets in Randy's
       face)
So, where's the little witch then?

                       RANDY
What's it to you.

                       COLE
Taylor! You playing or not?

                       RANDY
      (to Taylor)
Bitch!

Cole grabs Randy by the scruff of his neck and marches him
off the court.

                       COLE
Go home, Randy.

Vince picks up Randy's bike and throws it into the street.

                       RANDY
Assholes! You're all a bunch of
douche bags!

Everyone stands and laughs at Randy.
A distraught, Randy flees on his bike.

46.

EXT. CAMPGROUND - NIGHT

Cole and Vince remove two cases of beer and a couple of
bottles of liquor from the truck. Taylor and Jan each carry
a blanket. Danny lights a cigarette.
They walk through a short stretch of thick brush and over a
tiny creek, mindful of where they are stepping.
They find a small isolated open area. They lay their
blankets on the ground.
Taylor and Jan each sit on a blanket. Danny parks himself on
a fallen tree trunk.
Cole hands out the beer. Vince opens a bottle of WILD TURKEY
and takes a long stiff swig before wiping his mouth and
passing it to Cole. Cole takes a swig.

                       COLE
      (shakes his head)
Man! This shit's like rocket fuel!

                       VINCE
Hell, yeah!

Vince offers the bottle to Taylor.

Taylor takes a swig. She coughs and grimaces.

                       TAYLOR
Damn, thats strong!

                       DANNY
Fuck that! That shit's gross!

Danny lights a joint. He inhales deeply.

                       TAYLOR
      (reaches for the
       joint)
Come on, pass it around!

Taylor takes a drag.

                       TAYLOR
Now thats more like it.

                       JAN
      (reaching)
Keep it coming, girl!

                       COLE
Lets build a fire. Yo, Dan! Go
find some wood.

47.

                       DANNY
      (reluctantly)
Figured it would be me.

                       VINCE
Hey, Taylor. I hear you two had
some fun in the park the other
night.

                       COLE
      (to Vince)
What the hell, man.

                       VINCE
Sorry, bro, couldn't resist.

                       TAYLOR
      (to Cole)
You had to tell him, didn't you?

                       JAN
Who is this creep?

                       COLE
He's the weird chick's father.

                       TAYLOR
What?

                       VINCE
You sure?

                       COLE
Randy was walking her home, after
she ran out of school. Her old man
saw them, chewed Randy a new one
and took off.

                       VINCE
She probably told him what a warm
Ridgeview reception she got on her
first day.

                       JAN
It's not funny, Vince. The guy's
probably pissed as hell, right
now.

                       TAYLOR
Just wait till I get my hands on
that little bitch.

48.

                       COLE
Oh, and that's really gonna help.

They all drop the subject and sit quietly.

Danny returns with armfuls of dried brush.
Vince builds a fire while the others sit drinking their beer
and liquor.

Vince sits on the blanket with Jan. Taylor snuggles into
Cole. Danny throws a log on the fire.

                       DANNY
I gotta piss.

Danny gets up and searches for a secluded spot. He finds
privacy behind a large sprawling tree.
He relieves himself for what seems like an age. As he
finishes, he strains to see a pair of shiny red eyes staring
right at him.

                       DANNY
      (squints)
What the fuck!

He hears RUSTLING noises.

                       DANNY
Alright guys. Very funny.

Danny holds his breath. His eyes dart in every direction as
he carefully makes his way back to the group.

                       DANNY
      (looking at the
       others)
Nice one, guys. Had me going there
for a second.

                       COLE
What are you talking about?

                       DANNY
The eyes! The noises in the
bushes!

                       VINCE
I think you've had too much of
that shit, buddy.

They all laugh.

49.

                       DANNY
Seriously, guys. There was
something looking at me back
there.

                       COLE
      (disbelieving)
Here, for fucks sake, have another
beer.

Danny sees movement in the bushes.

                       DANNY
      (pointing)
Over there ... Look!

Everyone looks up. The underbrush CRACKLES. Bushes and
plants SWISH back and forth. A pair of red eyes peer out
from the heavy undergrowth.

                       TAYLOR
      (holding on to
       Cole's arm)
Cole, do something.

                       COLE
Shh. Nobody move.

Cole picks up a couple of empty beer bottles and launches
them in the direction of the eyes. They hear STIRRING in the
bushes and then silence.

                       COLE
Gone ... Probably raccoons or
deer.

                       DANNY
That was freaky, man.

                       JAN
I'm scared.

                       TAYLOR
Lets get the fuck out of here.

                       COLE
      (annoyed)
Are you kidding me!

                       VINCE
I don't know, man. That was weird.

50.

                       TAYLOR
We can go back to Vince's.

                       VINCE
My parent's are out of town, so
I've got the house to myself.

                       COLE
Alright! Alright! Grab the stuff
and lets go.

Vince pours beer on the fire. They pick up the beer and
blankets and walk back to the truck.
They arrive at the truck and see that all four tires are
slashed. There is a message spray painted in white on the
side of the truck. It reads, "YOU BEEN WARNED."

                       COLE
      (shocked)
What the hell? ...

                       VINCE
Shit!

                       DANNY
Who the hell would? ...

                       TAYLOR
      (to Cole)
I bet it was your fucking brother.

                       COLE
      (walking around
       the truck)
He wouldn't do this.

                       TAYLOR
Then it must be the crazy guy.

                       COLE
      (angry)
Fuck!

                       DANNY
So, what do we do now?

                       VINCE
Walk, dimwit!

                       JAN
It's too far.

51.

                       TAYLOR
      (puts her arm
       around Jan)
Come on, babe. Lets go.

                       COLE
We'll take care of the truck in
the morning.

They put the beer and blankets inside the truck and start
walking.

EXT. VINCE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Cole, Taylor, Vince, Jan and Danny reach Vince's house.

                       DANNY
      (bends over)
I'm exhausted.

                       VINCE
      (exhales)
I need a drink.

Vince, Jan and Danny drag themselves to the front door.

                       VINCE
      (to Cole and
       Taylor)
You guys coming in?

Cole and Taylor stand on the sidewalk and kiss.

                       COLE
      (to Taylor)
You go ahead ... I'm not in the
mood to party.

                       TAYLOR
Cole!

                       COLE
I just need to chill ... Alright!

                       TAYLOR
But Cole ...

                       COLE
      (loudly)
My truck just got totally fucked
up. I'm not in the mood!

52.

Taylor reluctantly walks towards the others.

                       COLE
      (to Vince)
Can she stay at your place?

                       VINCE
No problem ... Take it easy, bro.

Cole waves as he leaves.

EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD - DREAM SEQUENCE - NIGHT

Cole mopes along the now, deserted sidewalk, passing home
after home. His face is strained like a man who's deep in
thought.
He looks up at the stars. He is suspicious of the eerie
silence. The only source of light being the dimly lit bug
infested street lamps.
He stops and senses a presence.
He wants to turn around but feels rooted to the spot.
He slowly turns.
He sees a large man with lily white hair and a long flowing
coat striding toward him.
He gasps, turns and runs. He looks behind. The man closes on
him. His legs try to run faster. He looks back again and
stops. He sees no one. His breathing is shallow and rapid.
His face is etched with fear. He sighs heavily and turns to
walk away. Suddenly he is face to face with Cyrus.
Cyrus stares at him. He grins before plunging a long silver
dagger into Cole's stomach.
Cole screams.

INT. COLE'S BEDROOM - PRESENT DAY - NIGHT

Cole sits up sharply. He is drenched in sweat and his
breathing is rapid.
He swings his legs over the bed and holds his head in his
hands. He rubs his hands through his hair trying to calm
himself.

INT. HOUSE - - KITCHEN - DAY

Randy and his parents are eating breakfast at the table.
There is a KNOCK at the door and in comes Taylor.

                       TAYLOR
Morning, Mr. and Mrs. Hart. How
are you?

53.

                       DEBBIE
Pull up a chair, Taylor. Cole's
still in bed ... He must of had a
late night.

                       TAYLOR
Really? It wasn't late when I left
him.

Cole trudges into the kitchen. Randy avoids making eye
contact.

                       COLE
      (kissing Taylor)
How long have you been here?

                       TAYLOR
      (whispering to
       Cole)
You look like shit.

                       COLE
      (stares again at
       randy)
I didn't sleep too good.

                       DEBBIE
      (to Cole)
Have some breakfast.

                       COLE
Coffee's fine, Mom.

                       TAYLOR
      (sarcastically)
Seeing your girlfriend today,
Randy?

                       RANDY
      (snaps back)
None of your business!

                       DEBBIE
You have a girlfriend?

                       TAYLOR
      (munching on toast)
She's the new girl in town, Mrs.H.
She's kinda weird if you ask me.

                       RANDY
Mom! I told you about her. And,
she's not my girlfriend!

54.

                       TAYLOR
Touchy.

Randy jumps up and storms out of the room without a word.

                       DEBBIE
Randy!

                       JOE
Leave him be, Deb.

                       DEBBIE
      (to Taylor)
What do you mean she's weird?

                       TAYLOR
She looks like an old lady with
long white hair and she wears
these freaky dark glasses.

                       DEBBIE
      (sighing)
Why can't he find himself a nice,
normal girl for once?

                       COLE
Mom, he's not normal!

                       JOE
Don't say that, Cole.

                       COLE
If you ask me, they,re made for
each other.

Debbie and Joe look at each other with eyebrows raised.

                       TAYLOR
      (pulling Cole up)
Come on, lets go get your truck.

Cole glares at Taylor.

                       JOE
Where's the truck?

                       COLE
      (hesitating)
It's at Vince's place ... I had a
bit too much to drink last night,
so I walked home.

55.

Joe looks suspiciously at Cole and then refocuses on his
newspaper.

                       COLE
Lets go, Tayls!

                       TAYLOR
Bye, Mr. and Mrs. H.

Cole ushers Taylor out of the kitchen.

                       DEBBIE
      (to Joe)
What are we going to do with
Randy?

                       JOE
I don't know? The boy has a mind
of his own.

                       DEBBIE
This girl doesn't sound right for
him.

                       JOE
It's probably just some teenage
thing. He'll get over it.

                       DEBBIE
I hope your right.

                       JOE
Stop worrying.

EXT. JEFFERSON PARK - DAY

Sara waits in anticipation as Randy puts bait on a fishing
hook. Randy finishes baiting the hooks and slings his line
into the water. He holds Sara's hands showing her how to
cast her line.
They kick back under the shade of a large tree next to the
lake.

                       SARA
I've never fished before.

                       RANDY
      (being dramatic)
It's real easy. We just sit and
wait for the fish to bite ... Then
we drag them in, gut them right

                       SARA
Funny!

Randy flops down on his back, hands behind his head.

                       RANDY
      (looks at her)
Can I ask you a question?

                       SARA
Sure.

                       RANDY
      (pauses)
Forget it. It's not important.

                       SARA
Are you o.k?

                       RANDY
I'm fine.

                       SARA
Do you think I'm pretty?

                       RANDY
      (surprised)
Yeah, sure... Why do you ask?

                       SARA
Everywhere I go, people look and
whisper. I've never been able to
talk to anyone. Your the first
person that's paid any attention
to me.

                       RANDY
Your a nice person Sara... I don't
care what people think and neither
should you.

Sara smiles and snuggles into Randy.

                       RANDY
      (changing the
       subject)
Lets catch some fish!

57.

                       SARA
      (yells)
Here fishy, fishy.

                       RANDY
You're gonna scare them off.

Sara jumps to her feet.

                       SARA
      (stomping her feet)
We want fish! We want fish!

Randy starts laughing and repeats what Sara is saying.

                       SARA
      (jokingly)
Jump in and find me a fish.

Without hesitation Randy removes his shirt and jumps feet
first into the lake.

                       SARA
      (yelling)
I was only kidding!

Randy dives under the water. He comes up empty handed.

                       RANDY
      (spiting out
       water.)
Sorry. No fish.

                       SARA
You're crazy!

                       RANDY
I know!

Randy wades out of the water. He shakes himself like a dog
and sits next to Sara.

                       SARA
      (moving away
       slightly)
You're all wet!

                       RANDY
That was fun ... Lets eat. I'm
starving.

Sara unpacks a box of sandwiches and they tuck in.

58.

                       RANDY
      (munching)
These are good. Did you make them?

                       SARA
My own special creation. A little
bit of heart, little bit of
kidney, little bit of brain ...

                       RANDY
Ha, yeah right.

                       SARA
      (laughing)
I know, bad joke, right?

                       RANDY
I like bad jokes.

They sit and watch each other eat.

                       RANDY
One more question.

                       SARA
Last one.

                       RANDY
Well ... I know about your dad and
that. But, do you have any other
family? Brothers or sisters?

                       SARA
I have a mom and lots of brothers
and sisters.

                       RANDY
Oh, cool.

                       SARA
      (uncomfortable)
Enough of the questions, o.k?

                       RANDY
Sorry.

Sara's fishing pole quivers.

                       RANDY
      (excited)
You've got one ... Pull it in ...
easy does it!

59.

Randy helps Sara reel in the fish.

                       SARA
      (cheering)
Say! I got one!

                       RANDY
I knew you'd get one sooner or
later.

They hug as they bounce up and down.

                       SARA
      (Looking into
       Randy's eyes)
I really like you, Randy.

                       RANDY
      (nervously)
I like you too.

Sara throws her arms around Randy's neck. Randy stiffens up
and anxiously looks away.

EXT. SCHOOL - DAY

Cyrus stands on a street corner adjacent to the school.
He casually leans against a blue mailbox puffing on a
cigarette.
He looks around as students mingle with each other and cars
jockey for parking spaces.
He keeps a close eye on Sara as she walks to school. She
looks back and waves. He acknowledges with a discrete nod of
the head.

INT. SCHOOL - DAY

Sara scurries down the hall holding her books close to her
chest. She looks up briefly. She sees Taylor and her cronies
coming towards her. Sara avoids making eye contact.
Taylor grabs Sara's hair and pulls it painfully tight.
Sara drops her books and they scatter all over the floor.

                       TAYLOR
Hey, old lady. How was your
weekend? ... Glad to be back?

60.

                       SARA
      (struggling to
       release herself
       from the hold)
You're hurting me!

                       TAYLOR
Get used to it. Bitch!

Taylor releases her grip on Sara's hair.
Her cronies laugh. A tear trickles down Sara's cheek as she
picks up her books.
Some students look with curiosity as they file past her.
Most of them ignore her.

                       TAYLOR
      (to friends)
I'll catch you girls later. Nature
calls.

Taylor saunters into the bathroom.

INT. BATHROOM - DAY

The bathroom is empty. Taylor enters a stall. She struggles
to pull down her skin tight mini. She sits on the toilet and
checks her nails. Her ears perk up with the sound of a
KNOCK. She stands and hitches up her skirt. Exiting the
stall, she looks cautiously from side to side as she makes
her way to the vanity. She takes lip gloss out of her purse,
puckers up and applies. She poofs up her hair, and messes
with her blouse and skirt. She turns to leave and comes face
to face with Cyrus.
She freezes, momentarily unable to speak or move.
Cyrus grabs Taylor by her throat. He pulls out a small shiny
blade and holds it just below her eye.

                       CYRUS
I've been hearing some very
unpleasant stories about you young
lady ... You've been a very, very,
bad girl.

                       TAYLOR
Please, Mister ...

                       CYRUS
One more sound out of that pretty
little mouth of yours and you'll
be missing this nice big brown
eye.

61.

Cyrus draws a tiny amount of blood from just below her eye.
Taylor GRUNTS.

Cyrus spins Taylor around to face the mirror. While still
holding the blade to her eye he caresses her breasts with
his other hand. Taylor squirms and whimpers softly.

                       CYRUS
      (whispers in her
       ears)
Mighty fine, little lady ...
Mighty fine.

                       TAYLOR
      (softly)
Please, don't hurt me.

                       CYRUS
(quietly) A word of warning,
sugar. Stay away from my little
girl, otherwise you and I are
going to get intimately acquainted
... If you know what I mean? (Tone
changes) Understand Bitch?

Taylor nods frantically.

                       CYRUS
Good! Now. You're gonna stay in
here until I'm well gone ... If I
hear so much as a rat fart then
I'll come back and slit this
pretty little throat of yours.

Taylor again nods in agreement.

Cyrus kisses Taylor on the lips forcefully and exits. Taylor
cowers to a crouch, shaking and crying uncontrollably.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

Cole hurries to class. He sees Taylor stagger out of the
bathroom.

                       COLE
What the ...?

                       TAYLOR

Did you see him?

62.

                       COLE
Who?

Taylor falls into Cole's arms sobbing profusely.

                       TAYLOR
It was him! That crazy looking
guy!

                       COLE
Whoa ... Slow down ... Easy, easy.

Taylor takes a deep breath.

                       TAYLOR
He grabbed me in the bathroom. He
stuck a knife in my face and told
me to stay away from his girl ...
The guy's a fucking psycho!

                       COLE
Stay away from what girl?

                       TAYLOR
That bitch, Sara!

                       COLE
Easy, babe. Calm down.

                       TAYLOR
What if he's following us?

                       COLE
Forget about him!

                       TAYLOR
How the hell can we forget about
him? ... Maybe we should call the
cops?

                       COLE
Yeah right! ... Ridgeview's
finest!

                       TAYLOR
We can't just wait around while he
terrorizes the shit out of us! ...
He could have killed me back there

They creep towards Lenny's house. His porch light is on.
Cole and Vince douse Lenny's truck with gasoline.
Cole motions for everyone to take cover.
Vince readies his BB gun. Taylor grabs a paint-ball gun.
Cole strikes a match and throws it at the truck. It
immediately goes ablaze.

They fire their weapon's at the house. A window smashes amid
loud cheers. Lenny appears on the front porch with his

the blazing truck. The truck explodes. Lenny is knocked over

Lenny hauls himself up. He stares in disbelief at the

                       COLE

                       COLE
Hit me with that and your dead!

Randy swings the vase at Cole's head.
Cole blocks the vase with his arm. The vase shatters.
Cole lunges at Randy and grabs him by the throat. He slams
him on his back, pounces on him and pins him to the floor.
Cole draws back his fist.

73.

                       RANDY
      (yelling)

Cole pauses then lowers his fist. He climbs off Randy. He
exhales loudly and heads for the door.
He pauses, looks at Randy, then leaves the room. Randy lies
flat on his back staring up at the ceiling. He bursts into
tears.

Give it time, she'll come around.

                       RANDY
      (stands up)
Everyone in school has been
bullying the crap out of her.

Joe looks at Debbie, raises his eyebrows, and drinks a
mouthful of beer.

                       RANDY
I'm going to find her.

He closes the door. He rests his head on the door.

                       DEBBIE

If she's not in school tomorrow,
your father will help you find her
... Won't you, Joe?

                       JOE
Yeah ... I guess.

Randy drags himself to the foot of the stairs.

                       RANDY (o.s)

Cyrus and Sara hear loud GRUNTS and muffled screams.

You o.k?

                       RANDY
What do you care?

                       COLE
      (quietly)
Just asking.

                       RANDY
Sara's missing.

                       COLE
What do you mean, missing?

                       RANDY
She hasn't been to school.

                       COLE
Maybe she's sick ... or something.

                       RANDY
That's what mom said.

                       COLE
So, what's the problem?

                       RANDY
I'm worried something might have
happened to her.

                       COLE
Like what?

80.

                       RANDY
I don't know ... Anything!

                       COLE
What are you gonna do?

                       RANDY
I'm going to go look for her.

                       COLE
Look for her, where?

                       RANDY
She lives down Constitution Drive.

                       COLE
You can't go down there.

                       RANDY
I can't sit here and do nothing.

                       COLE
You'll never find her, Randy!

                       RANDY
I know where she lives. I've been
there.

                       COLE
When?

                       RANDY
I followed her home the other day
... I just wanted to see where she
lived.

                       COLE
And?

                       RANDY
Not what I expected. Big old run
down place. Shit everywhere.

                       COLE
I knew it. Fucking hillbillies!

                       RANDY
I just need to know she's o.k...
Will you come with me?

Cole laughs.

81.

                       RANDY
Fine! Mom said dad would take me.

                       COLE
Problem solved.

                       RANDY
I don't want to go with dad. He
thinks I'm stupid and mom thinks
I'm still a kid.

                       COLE
Yep. That's about right.

                       RANDY
Come on ! You owe me.

                       COLE
I owe you? You were the one that
attacked "me" with that vase.

                       RANDY
You deserved it.

                       COLE
I'll drive you down, later.

                       RANDY
It'll be dark by then.

Cole's phone rings.

                       COLE
Hey, Vince. What's up?

Randy rolls his eyes and storms out of the living room.
The front door slams.

                                         CUT TO

EXT. CYRUS'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Randy quietly approaches the house. He discretely peeks into
each window looking for Sara.
He shimmies up a drainpipe and onto a small roof. He sees
Sara reading a book on her bed. He gently taps on the
window. She looks up, smiles and opens the window.

82.

INT. CYRUS'S HOUSE - BEDROOM - NIGHT

                       SARA
Randy! What are you doing here?

                       RANDY
I was worried about you. You
weren't in school and...

                       SARA
Hurry, climb in.

                       RANDY
      (climbing through
       the window)
I just wanted to make sure you
were o.k.

Sara grabs Randy tightly.

                       SARA
I've missed you so much.

                       CYRUS (o.s)
      (yelling)
Sara! You in there?

                       SARA
      (to Randy)
Quick! Under the bed!

Randy dives under the bed as Cyrus barges into Sara's room.

                       CYRUS
Get your butt in the kitchen and
see to those fucking kids.

                       SARA
Where's mom?

                       CYRUS
Who the fuck knows?

                       SARA
I'll be right there.

Randy listens from under the bed.

Cyrus grabs Sara by the arm.

                       CYRUS
I said now! Damn it!

83.

Randy sees them leave the bedroom.
He jumps up and gets one leg out of the window.
He sees headlights and a truck pull up.
Harvey and an old man wearing a fishing hat carry a large
bundle into the barn.
Randy freezes. He quietly closes the window and remains in
the bedroom.
He stares at the barn. He is startled as Sara taps him on
the shoulder.

                       RANDY
      (turning)
Jesus, Sara!

                       SARA
Shh... Quiet!

                       RANDY
      (softly)
Two guys just carried something
real big into the barn.

                       SARA
Harvey and grandpa just caught
dinner.

                       RANDY
      (anxious)
I think I'd better get going.

Sara backs up and starts to unbutton her blouse.

                       RANDY
      (bemused)
What are you doing?

Sara grabs Randy and fumbles for the zipper on his pants.
Randy grabs her hands.

                       SARA
Come on Randy. I thought you liked
me?

                       RANDY
      (resisting)
I did...I mean, I do, but... your
parents?

                       SARA
Don't worry. Daddy's probably
fucking mom as we speak.

84.

                       RANDY
I gotta get out of here.

Randy pushes past Sara and runs out of the bedroom.

INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT

A terrified Randy hurriedly heads for the stairs. He glances
into one of the bedrooms at the top of the stairs. Cyrus
sits on the edge of the bed with Arlene's head firmly
nestled between his legs.

                       SARA (o.s)
Daddy! Help!

Randy stops dead in his tracks. Cyrus looks up and sees
Randy.

                       CYRUS
What the fuck!

Randy bolts down the stairs. He pushes past an old albino
woman with a cane. She stumbles.

                       CYRUS (o.s)
      (yells)
Harvey!

INT. DOWNSTAIRS HALLWAY - NIGHT

Randy fumbles with the front door knob. He opens the door
and Harvey stands menacingly over him. The albino tots
appear and run around Randy's feet. Randy runs towards a
rear door which is locked. Cyrus and Harvey charge after
him.
Randy looks around and sees another door. He barges through
the door.

INT. BASEMENT - NIGHT

Randy frantically locks the door behind him and feels for a
light switch.
Unable to locate a switch, he gingerly feels his way down
the steps.
He hears banging on the door. He briefly looks back.

                       CYRUS (o.s)
Get your skinny ass up here, boy.

85.

A small ray of moonlight finds it's way through the tiny
basement window.
Randy edges forward slowly. His head turns slowly from side
to side in a cautious manner.
Randy bangs his knee on something solid. He grimaces and
clutches his knee momentarily. His hands search for the
cause of his mishap.
Suddenly a young naked woman, bleached hair explodes in his
face.

                       YOUNG WOMAN
Help me!

Randy falls backwards.

                       RANDY
Holy shit!

A dim light illuminates the cold, concrete prison. Randy
looks around at his surroundings. The room is littered with
chains and various other medieval looking remains.
Sara appears.

                       RANDY
      (struggles to
       focus)
Sara, is that you?

                       SARA
Hurry, this way. I know a way out.

                       RANDY
But... What about?

Randy hears the continued pounding on the cellar door.

                       SARA
      (reaching for his
       hand)
Come on!

Sara grabs him by the hand and leads him to a secret exit
door.

                       RANDY
We've got to get the hell out of
here, Sara.

                       SARA
I know! I know!... Trust me. Keep
walking.

They reach the door.

86.

                       SARA
Go ahead. I'll be right behind
you.

Randy opens the door.
Randy's head is immediately covered with a large sack.

EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT

Cyrus drags a stumbling Randy across the yard.

                       CYRUS
      (to Sara)
You did good, sugar.

                       SARA
      (clapping her
       hands and
       giggling)
That was fun.

Cyrus and Harvey take turns kicking and pushing Randy around
the yard.
The albino tots run around and family members cheer with
sadistic delight.

Harvey grabs an Axe.

                       HARVEY
Let me chop him up.

Sara stops Harvey.

                       SARA
No!

Harvey throws down the Axe and punches Randy in the head.
Randy falls like a sack of potatoes.

                       HARVEY
      (shaking his hand)
Damn! I think that was the back of
his head.

                       CYRUS
Dumb ass!

                       SARA
Don't hurt him. He's mine.

Harvey picks Randy up and drags his motionless body into the
house.

87.

Cyrus puts his arm around Arlene.

                       CYRUS
      (to Arlene)
Now that, was fucking
entertainment.

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

Randy wakes up looking at Sara astride him. He is tied to
the bed.
Sara unbuttons her blouse.

                       SARA
Now, where were we?

INT. KITCHEN - NIGHT

Cyrus, Harvey and Arlene sit around the kitchen table
drinking beer.

                       HARVEY
So, what do we do with the little
bastard now?

                       CYRUS
Bury him down by the creek.

                       ARLENE
Cyrus! Sara would never forgive
you.

                       CYRUS
Shit! Remember the last fucking
kid that tried it on with her. I
ripped his fucking eyeballs out.
Last fucking girl he ever saw.

Harvey and Cyrus laugh.

                       ARLENE
Yeah, and we had to skip town...
and ended up in this shit hole.

                       CYRUS
      (bangs beer on the
       table)
We're not going anywhere!

They all look up at the ceiling. They hear loud thumping
noises and shrieking coming from upstairs.

88.

                       ARLENE
      (smiling)
Sounds like she's enjoying
herself, Cyrus.

                       CYRUS
I swear, that fucking girl will be
the death of me.

INT. COLE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

The television blares as Debbie walks into the living room.
Cole is fast asleep on the sofa.

                       DEBBIE
      (looking at Cole)
Must be nice.

Cole opens his eyes.

                       DEBBIE
Too many late nights?

                       COLE
      (scratching his
       head)
I guess.

Debbie walks into the kitchen.

                       COLE
Where's dad?

                       DEBBIE (o.s)
He had to work late.

Debbie enters the living room.

                       DEBBIE
Where's your brother?

                       COLE
      (hesitates)
Err, not sure... Probably in his
room.

Debbie walks to the foot of the stairs.

                       DEBBIE
      (yells)
Randy!

89.

She pauses for a second.

                       DEBBIE
      (to Cole)
Are you sure he's upstairs?

                       COLE
      (perks up)
Oh, I think he said he was going
to the movies with a friend.

                       DEBBIE
Did he say when he would be back?

                       COLE
Err, he didn't say.

Cole gets up, grabs his coat and keys.

                       DEBBIE
Is their something your not
telling me, Cole?

                       COLE
No... I promised I'd meet Taylor
after work... and I'm late.

Cole rushes out of the room. Debbie looks puzzled.

EXT. COLE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Cole talks on the phone as he walks to his car.

                       COLE
Call the rest of them and have
them meet at your place. I'll be
there in 10 minutes.

Cole puts the phone in his pocket and jumps in his truck.

EXT. VINCE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Vince, Taylor, Danny and Jan stand in the driveway.
A truck arrives.
Cole jumps out of the truck and approaches the group.

                       VINCE
      (shaking Cole's
       hand)
So, what's up ,bro?

90.

                       COLE
Randy's missing.

                       TAYLOR
      (annoyed)
That's it?

                       COLE
He wanted me to go with him to see
if that girl was o.k... I kinda
blew him off.

                       VINCE
So, you wanna go find him, now?

                       TAYLOR
Are you crazy?

                       DANNY
He could be anywhere.

                       COLE
We have to try! This is my brother
we're talking about.

                       TAYLOR
You don't even like him.

                       COLE
Look, guys. I need to find him,
before my parents freak out.

                       VINCE
      (patting Cole's
       shoulder)
We'll find him.

Taylor rolls her eyes.

INT. COLE'S TRUCK - NIGHT

Vince turns the volume up on the radio. Upbeat HEAVY ROCK
music BLARES.
They drive off.

                       VINCE
What the hell possessed him to go
to the worst part of town... at
night... to look for some weird
chick he just met?

91.

                       COLE
Cos it's, Randy.

                       TAYLOR
The kid's as crazy as she is.

                       JAN
      (to Taylor)
We could stay in the truck while
the guys look.

                       TAYLOR
      (high fives Jan)
I hear you, sister.

                       COLE
The whole point of us all going
was that we'd have a better chance
of finding her.

They all glance as they pass Lenny's house.

                       VINCE
      (pointing)
Make a left, Cole ... There!

Cole makes a sharp turn and drives down a dark, secluded
dirt road.

                       DANNY
Stop the truck! I think I saw a
bike back there.

Cole hits the brakes and the truck comes to a GRINDING halt.

EXT. COLE'S TRUCK - WOODS - NIGHT

Cole jumps out of the truck.

Danny grabs a flashlight, takes a few steps and points the
flashlight into the darkness.

                       DANNY
There it is!

Cole runs over to the bike.

                       COLE
It's his.

They all look around.

92.

                       VINCE
Where do we start?

                       COLE
Get the rest of the flashlights
and start looking.

They test the flashlights at the truck.

                       COLE
Lets split up. If we don't find
him, meet back here in one hour.

Vince and Jan go off in one direction. Cole and Taylor take
a different path.

                       DANNY
Hey! How come I'm by myself?

Danny reluctantly heads out by himself.

Danny flails his arms at the overgrown bushes and mutters to
himself with every step.
He is spooked by the STIRRING of bushes. His eyes dart from
side to side.

                       DANNY
Randy! Is that you?

An owl HOOTS.

                       DANNY
Come on, guys. This isn't funny
... Cole?

He pauses for a second.

                       DANNY
      (to himself)
Jerks!

Danny loses his balance and stumbles over a tree root.
His flashlight blinks. He TAPS it repeatedly.

                       DANNY
Shit! Not now!

Danny leans up against a large tree. He shakes the
flashlight. It flickers on and off.

93.

                       DANNY
      (fumbling for his
       cigarettes)
This sucks!

Cyrus appears over Danny's shoulder and plunges a large
blade through Danny's back.
Danny gasps and coughs up wads of blood as Cyrus delights in
twisting and turning the knife until Danny's body finally
goes limp. Cyrus withdraws the knife and Danny's body falls
to the ground. Cyrus, smiles as he wipes the blood from the
large blade across his chest.

INT. CYRUS'S HOUSE - BEDROOM - NIGHT

Randy struggles to free himself from the bindings that tie
him to the bed.
He manages to free one hand and then the rest of his limbs
while keeping a close eye on the bedroom door.
He attempts to raise the window but it won't budge. He sees
it has been bolted shut.
He peers out of the window and sees Vince and Jan creeping
towards the barn door.
He waves his arms frantically in an effort to alert them.

INT. BARN - NIGHT

Vince and Jan step into the dimly lit barn. They look around
at the various farm tools and gadgets stored in the place.
They see a bench with a canopy covering something large.
Blood drips from under the cover.
Jan covers her mouth.

                       VINCE
      (finger to lips)
Shh! Let me check it out.

                       JAN
Be careful.

Vince creeps over to the bench. Jan stays two steps behind
him.
He glances at Jan then quickly removes the cover as he steps
back. They see a large butchered deer. They both sigh with
relief.

                       SARA
Can I help you.

Vince and Jan spin around.

94.

                       JAN
Err... We were looking for Randy.

                       SARA
Really.

                       VINCE
Is he here?

                       SARA
He's sleeping.

Vince and Jan give each other a puzzled look.

                       JAN
Can we see him?

                       SARA
I guess. Follow me.

Vince and Jan hesitantly follow Sara. Sara opens the barn
door and steps out.

EXT. YARD - NIGHT

As Vince and Jan step out of the barn, a chair shatters an
upstairs window.

Randy appears at the window.

                       RANDY
      (yells)
Run!

Vince and Jan turn to run. Cyrus appears from the side of
the barn and cracks Vince in the head with a shovel. Jan
screams as Vince falls to the ground.
Cyrus and Harvey drag Vince back into the barn. Jan is
hauled into the barn by two other albino males.
Harvey binds Vince's arms behind his back and places a noose
around his neck. The other end of the rope is thrown over a
rafter. They both hoist Vince up until he is suspended off
the ground.
Vince, GRUNTING and GROANING kicks wildly while trying to
free himself.
He watches helplessly as Jan is on her back being mauled by
the two powerful males. She screams as one of them attempts
to rip off her jeans.
Vince's face contorts. His eyes bulge and he grimaces as the
life slowly drains from his body.

95.

                       CYRUS
She's all yours boys. (draws a
long steel blade from his long
black coat) But, this one's mine!

Cyrus violently swipes the blade across Vince's abdomen.
Vince's body shudders. Blood flows freely from the gaping
wound. Vince coughs and gives one last GRUNT before he dies.

EXT. YARD - NIGHT

Randy climbs out of the window and jumps off the roof. He
hears the yelling and screaming from the barn. He pauses
briefly, then runs for his life into the woods.

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT

Cole has Taylor up against a tree. She MOANS loudly as he
thrusts himself into her.

With one final thrust, Taylor yelps and their limp bodies
slide to the ground.

                       TAYLOR
Now that beats looking for that
dumb ass brother of yours.

                       COLE
      (looks at her
       seriously)
We still have to find him ... O.k?

Cole and Taylor get to their feet and adjust their clothing.

                       COLE
      (getting out his
       phone)
I'm calling Vince.

Cole punches in Vince's number.

                       COLE
No answer.

                       TAYLOR
      (whispering in
       Cole's ear)
Maybe their doing each other.

                       COLE
You've got a one track mind.

96.

                       TAYLOR
And you don't?

                       COLE
I'm calling Danny.

Cole punches in Danny's number on his phone.

                       COLE
Shit! He's not answering.

                       TAYLOR
So, now what?

                       COLE
Lets make our way back to the
truck. Maybe their waiting there.

They turn to leave.

Randy runs wildly through the woods. He trips over a fallen
log. Half dazed, he looks up and sees Cole and Taylor.

They rush toward him.

                       COLE
Jesus, Randy! Where you been?

                       RANDY
      (out of breath)
I'm sorry Cole! I'm sorry!

                       COLE
Randy! What happened?

                       RANDY
They got Vince and Jan.

                       TAYLOR
Who?

                       RANDY
      (getting to his
       feet)
We have to get out of here... Now!

                       COLE
      (grabs Randy)
Where's Vince?

Randy shrugs off Cole and runs.

97.

                       COLE
Randy! Wait!

Cole and Taylor chase after Randy.

Cole is suddenly snared by a large old fashioned bear trap.
Cole's face explodes with pain as it's jaws slam shut on his
leg.
Taylor screams and falls backward.

                       COLE
      (yelling)
Fuck! ... Get this thing off me!
... God damn it!

Shaking uncontrollably, Taylor attempts to pry open the
massive jaws.

                       TAYLOR
I can't move it!

Out of the bushes Cyrus appears with a crowd of albino males
and children.
They stare at Cole and Taylor.
Taylor, on her knees, still tries to free Cole.

                       TAYLOR
      (screaming)
Help him, you freaks!

Two of the men grab Taylor by the hair and drag her kicking
and screaming into the bushes.

Cyrus kneels next to Cole.

                       CYRUS
      (snickering)
Well, well, look what we have here
... A sight for sore eyes, to be
sure.

Cyrus looks up at the others.
The others are drooling at the prospect of Cole's demise.

                       COLE
Please! ... Help me ... I'm
Randy's brother ... He's friends
with err ...

                       CYRUS
Her name is Sara.

98.

                       COLE
      (struggling to
       talk through the
       pain)
We were looking for her ... My
brother was worried. We were just
trying to help him find her.

                       CYRUS
Is that so?

                       COLE
It's the truth. He's out here,
looking for her right now.

Cole sees the blood ooze from the large puncture wounds in
his leg. He clutches his leg and grimaces in pain.

                       COLE
Can you just get this thing off
me?

                       CYRUS
      (sneers)
I think we can help you with that.

Cyrus looks at his admirers and smiles.
He reaches behind his back and pulls out a small but sharp
gleaming Axe.
He swiftly slams the Axe down on Cole's leg severing it
cleanly above the trap.
Cole lets out an almighty scream.

                       CYRUS
      (sarcastically)
Is that better?

The others jump with joy.
They laugh and urge Cyrus to finish Cole off.

                       COLE
      (screams)
You mother fucking asshole!

Cyrus looks at the others and puts one finger to his lips.
There is silence except for Cole's tortured howls.
He turns, shakes his head at Cole before burying the Axe in
Cole's chest.
Cole dies instantly.

INT. HOUSE IN THE WOODS - BASEMENT - NIGHT

The dark, dank basement is illuminated by a single light
bulb. There is an assortment of chains, tools, pots, pans
and other trinkets scattered around the stark, concrete
room.
Taylor awakens clad only in her tattered and torn underwear.
She winces as she moves her bruised and battered body.
Her hair has been hacked off and is strewn around her.
She picks up a clump of hair. She struggles to focus. She
sees that the hair is white.
She freaks out. She attempts to jump to her feet. Her ankle
is chained to the floor. She jerks at the chain and screams
loudly.
She scans the room. A naked, Jan is chained to the wall in a
crucifix position. Her hair has been bleached white. Her
head is down and she is motionless.
She sees another young woman, the same woman that was
abducted from the old gas station five years ago, chained to
the bed, naked and pregnant. She too has had her hair
cropped and bleached.
Taylor drops to her knees. She sobs and pleads for her life.

                       TAYLOR
Please, God, help me!

INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT

Various members of the family sit around a large wooden
table. There is an assortment of food on the table. They
chatter loudly and POUND the table with wooden spoons.
Arlene fusses with the children. Cyrus takes a long swig
from a JACK DANIELS bottle and hands it to Harvey. Sitting
next to Harvey is Sara. She smiles and giggles.
Next to Sara is Randy. His wrists are strapped to the arms
of the chair and his mouth is covered with a gag.
Sara runs her hand through Randy's hair. She kisses him on
the cheek.

                       SARA
He's all mine. (giggles) It's just
me and him now.

Everyone laughs and cheers in approval.

The camera pans to the head of the table.
An old man stands up. He slowly removes his old fishing hat.
His long white flowing locks fall over his shoulders.
It's Crazy Lenny.

                       CRAZY LENNY
Let's eat!

One of the best scripts I've ever read on here. The characters are believable, the pacing great, and the suspense tense! I love it and would LOVE to see a movie made of it. If you ever get the chance, check out my script too, 'Welcome Home'.
