INT. G'S BEDROOM - NIGHT |
|
LIVE ACTION FILM |
|
Scene location is the bedroom of a typical teenage boy.
There is a bed and a large chest of drawers that dominate
the room. In the corner is an acoustic guitar on a stand and
on the bed is a laptop. The room also includes various
accessories such as CDs and CD player, television, clothes
etc, that are typical of the setting. It is evening/night
which is shown by subtle lamp lighting and closed curtains.
The only character in this scene is the Guitarist. He is a
teenage boy and wears casual clothing typical of a teenager
(e.g. jeans and t-shirt). |
|
(BEFORE MUSIC) |
|
Over shoulder shot, G looking at photos on a laptop. He is
sat on the bed. He stops on a picture of a girl walking out
a door to a house: the audience comes to realise this is the
first shot of the next scene. He gets up. |

ECU of G's left hand. Camera follows shot whilst he picks up
guitar and sits back down. End of this shot shows his hand
on the fret board, camera looks down the neck of the guitar. |
|
|
|
MS, camera from front of G, shows him sitting down, looking
down at the guitar, again we do not see his face. He may be
adjusting his hands on the guitar. |

EXT. STREETS - DAY |
|
STOP MOTION |
|
The audience assumes that this scene is from earlier in the
day because we now see that it is daytime. Scene 2 starts
approximately as the singing starts and runs for the rest of
the song however it is interspersed with clips from scene 1.
This section makes use of stop motion animation (or
pixilation as it is known when live actors are used) to
reflect the corresponding photographs in the first scene.
The location for this scene is outside and we can see from
the shots that we are in a suburban/town area. It is clear
that it is autumn which the audience deduces from the
character's clothing and the scenery (e.g. leaves on the
ground). This is not an integral part of the mise-en-scene
however; it is paramount that it is clear to the viewer that
it is a sunny day. This is something that corresponds to the
lyrics. In this scene we see four actors (two boys and two
girls, hereby known as b1, b2, g1 and g2) of approximately
the same age as the guitarist. They are similarly dressed.
All shots in this scene are filmed at right angles to the
actor unless otherwise specified. All shots are filmed at 1
frame per second. |
