MILES sits on a bench eating a sandwich, he watches the
birds in front of him strutting and waiting for his sandwich
to drop. A girl, SARA, walks up to the birds and feeds them
bird seed from her hand. Miles laughs and wraps his sandwich
up. Sara sits next to Miles quietly and they both begin to
laugh playfully.

                       MILES
Hi, Ich bin Miles. Miles Huebert.

                       SARA
      (shaking Miles'
       hand)
Es freut mich, Miles. Ich bin
Sara.

Miles continues watching the birds, not knowing what to say.
Sara hands him a handful of bird seed.

                       SARA
Hey! Miles, richtig?

                       MILES
Ja. Du hast nicht vergessen?

                       SARA
Was machst du hier? Du bist nicht
mir zu folgen oder etwas, bist du?

Sara pulls out the chair next to her.

                       SARA
Du hast Glück gehabt, nicht wahr?

Miles laughs and looks around.

                       SARA (cont'd)
Warum bist du so nervös?

Miles begins rubbing his neck.

                       MILES
Es macht nichts. War Überrumpelt

Miles looks to Sara for confirmation, she nods.

                       MILES
Ich werde den Salat.

                       WAITER

                       MILES
Ich nehme die Italian Salatsoße.

                       WAITER
Toll, und was willst du trinken?

                       MILES

                       WAITER

himself about someone not showing up. He hears someone
walking down the hall and there's a knock on the door.

                       MILES
Augen blick!

Miles jogs to the door and opens it to see Sara. He
immediately grows a big smile.

                       SARA
Guten Abendt, Miles.

                       MILES
Guten Abend auch für Sie, Sara.
Sie sehen wunderschön.

Sara laughs/snorts and pushes her hair behind her ear.

                       SARA
Vielen Dank, Miles. Und du siehst
nicht so schlecht auch.

Miles lead Sara into the dining room and pulled out a chair
for her. He went into the kitchen.

                       SARA
      (loudly)
Dein Haus ist extravagant. Ich mag
es.

                       MILES
      (from the kitchen)
Danke. Es ist nicht immer so. Ich
habe die ganze Nacht gereinigt.

                       SARA
Na... es ist besser als mein Haus
mindestens.

Miles comes back into the dining room with a big dish with
risotto and eggplant on it.

                       SARA (cont'd)
Wow. Du hast wirklich hart für
mich gearbeitet, hast du nicht?

4.

                       MILES
Es ist nicht jeden Tag, dass ich
darf eine schöne Frau zu
Abendessen einladen.
Ich habe es spezial machen gewollt.

Sara dissolves away, leaving Miles alone. At first he has a
confused look about his face which quickly turns to concern
and then fear.

                       MILES
Sara...

Miles leaves the dining room and comes back shortly after.
He sits back down in his chair and waits.

INT. MILES' BEDROOM - NIGHT

Miles is lying in bed, staring out the window, waiting. His
eyes look very sad.

                       MILES (V.O.)
Ein Minut sie war auf den Tisch
setzen und die nächste Minut war
sie... Weg. Es ist wie sie in ein
Gas verwandelt.

                       OFFICER (V.O.)
Okay, mehr langsam. Von vorn
anfangen. Wo hast die Frau
gegangen?

                       MILES (V.O.)
Ich--Ich weiß nicht. Wir waren
etwa zu esses danach sie hat...
verschwunden... vor meine Augen.
Ich sage es laut... und ich glaube
es nicht auch, aber Sie müssen mir
helfen. Ich--

                       OFFICER (V.O.)
Herr Huebert, du musst hier für
eine moment bleiben. Offizier
Brown und ich werden dein Fall
diskutieren. Kannst du für mich
tun?

                       MILES (V.O.)
Ja... Ich... Ich kann bleiben...

5.

Outside the window, the tree in front of Mile's window
begins to rustle like something is crawling on its branches,
but it's too dark to see what it is. The window opens,
letting in a soft breeze.

                       SARA
      (whispering)
Wach auf.

INT. MILES BEDROOM - MORNING

                       MILES
Dein Gesicht... Es ist Sie.

                       SARA
      (softly)
Nun, Lieber. Du musst sich bereit
für die Arbeit machen.

                       MILES
Ich hatte einen schrecklichen
Traum... können wir hier für eine
Moment bleiben?

Sara lies on Miles' chest and closes her eyes.

                       SARA
Ich kann dein Herzschlag hören.
