A short film about a well accomplished musician who gains tinnitus and affects their musical playing, who is now trying to find a way to overcome this dilemma of their life

CLAVIER

FADE IN:

INT. CONCERT HALL - DAY
                                                            
Alice walks on stage (LS), with the audience applauding once
they are aware of her presence. Alice acknowledges the
audience and heads towards the Grand piano which is set
'Centre Stage'
                                                            
(MS) Alice sits down at the piano, waits for the audience to
quieten and creates an atmosphere around her before starting
to play
                                                            
Alice Starts to play piano, and fills the room with emotion,
however, you can start to see Alice getting frustrated with
the tinnitus buzzing in her ear
                                                            
 
INT. DARK ROOM (ABSTRACT) FUSTRATIONS - NIGHT
                                                            
Alice shows her frustration through crying, screaming,
hitting walls,sitting down, crunched up, covering her ears.
All showing the effect the tinnitus is having on her, and
revealing the emotions alice is having inside.
                                                            
 
EXT. PARK BENCH - DAY
                                                            
Alice walks over to the park bench and sits down. She gets
an iPod out of her pocket, puts the headphones in her ears
and scrolls through the music she has, ready to pick a song.
                                                            
When she picks a song, she looks like she's enjoying the
song, but twitches, clearly uncomfortable with the tinnitus
she can hear in her ear which is disturbing her "listening
experience" which she shows by clenching her fists and
fidgeting.
                                                            
Alice eventually rips out the headphones from her ears and
sits there for a while before starting to tap her fingers
subconsciously in a rhythm.
                                                            
Alice then notices different rhythmic patterns in the space
around her. Becoming aware of shoes clicking as people walk
past, and the branches above her, creaking in the wind.

INT. TIME LAPSE (ABSTRACT) - NIGHT
                                                            
Alice stands in the dark, emotionless, but there are many
people walking past her, brushing against her, running past,
busy talking to friends, walking to work, a day out with
families, all ignoring her existence, with no apologies for
walking into her, brushing past her, but Alice seems as if
she is in a daze and is in a state of mind where she would
not notice this.
                                                            
 
INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY
                                                            
Character drinks coffee, specifically clinking a tea spoon
against a cup, slurping a drink and placing a cup down.
                                                            
Another character loads the dishwasher with tea cups etc,
closes the dishwasher and the dishwasher starts.
                                                            
 
INT. TIME LAPSE (ABSTRACT) - NIGHT
                                                            
Alice stands in the dark, emotionless, but there are many
people walking past her, brushing against her, running past,
busy talking to friends, walking to work, a day out with
families, all ignoring her existence, with no apologies for
walking into her, brushing past her, but Alice seems as if
she is in a daze and is in a state of mind where she would
not notice this.
                                                            
 
INT. OFFICE - DAY
                                                            
Character sits on a chair which scrapes a long the floor,
plugs head phones into the back of a computer, taps a pen
onto a note pad, types on a keyboard, clicks the computer
mouse and pulls head phones out of the back of a computer.
                                                            
 
INT. TIME LAPSE (ABSTRACT) - NIGHT
                                                            
Alice stands in the dark, emotionless, but there are many
people walking past her, brushing against her, running past,
busy talking to friends, walking to work, a day out with
families, all ignoring her existence, with no apologies for
walking into her, brushing past her, but Alice seems as if
she is in a daze and is in a state of mind where she would
not notice this.
                                                            
 

3.

INT. CAR SOUNDS - DAY
                                                            
Character shuts the car boot, gets into the car and shuts
the door, puts keys in the ignition and turns the engine on,
clicks the seatbelt in, beeps a car horn and then locks the
doors.
                                                            
 
INT. TIME LAPSE (ABSTRACT) - NIGHT
                                                            
Alice stands in the dark, emotionless, but there are many
people walking past her, brushing against her, running past,
busy talking to friends, walking to work, a day out with
families, all ignoring her existence, with no apologies for
walking into her, brushing past her, but Alice seems as if
she is in a daze and is in a state of mind where she would
not notice this
                                                            
 
INT. HOME - DAY
                                                            
Hand screeches hangers on a clothes rail, Character reaches
out to grab keys, closes the door and locks the door, closes
a gate and walks away.
                                                            
 
INT. COMPO TIME - DAY
                                                            
Alice sits down and sharpens their pencil, ready to start
writing on manuscript paper, Alice concentrates on the music
she should write by closing her eyes, as if imagining the
instrument is there.
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
A character plays a cello as a percussion instrument,
slapping the front and back of a cello.
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
Alice continues writing on manuscript, tapping her fingers
on the desk, coming up with ideas for rhythms to compose.
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
Character plays the strings inside of piano, as if it were a
harp.
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
A character taps a rhythm on the keys of a saxophone,
playing the the possible saxophone techniques that can
accomplish percussion
                                                            

4.

                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
Alice is writing manuscript
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
A character is discovering the possibilities of percussion
on the violin by tapping the sides, front and back of a
violin and tapping the strings with a violin bow
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
Alice writes manuscript.
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
A character starts to beatbox on a flute
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
Alice writes manuscript
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
Alice writes manuscript
                                                            
                                         CROSS-DISSOLVE
                                                            
Alice writes manuscript

INT. ALICE PREPARES - EVENING
                                                            
Alice walks to the stage, the panic of the"incident" arising
inside her. Revealed by the panic of her face and frustrated
body language.
                                                            
 
INT. THE STAGE - EVENING
                                                            
Alice walks through the orchestra onstage whilst the
orchestra are tuning. Alice gets to the conducting podium
and closes her eyes. The tinnitus come back which you can
see with the expression on her face, but She overcomes this,
Opens her eyes, and starts her piece infront of a large
audience.
                                                            
 
INT. OFFICE - DAY
                                                            


FADE OUT.
