FADE IN:

INT. HOUSE. GAME ROOM - NIGHT

Two men sit at a pool table filled with money. JOHN
WILLIAMS, a middle aged black male with a calm face wearing
a gold Jesus medallion, grabs a stack of money and inserts
it into the currency machine and presses the button. CHINO,
an average built man wearing a black shirt appears to be
early thirties, counts through money manually and then jots
numbers on paper.

                       JOHN
      (Counting Money)
What you got on that side?

Chino separates the cash on his side.

                       CHINO
I got three hundred and forty
thousand on this side and I'm
still counting.

Chino writes the amounts on a piece of paper. John grabs the
cash out the machine, twist a rubber band around it, and
sets it to the side.

                       JOHN
So far I got four hundred and
fifty eight thousand here.

The machine BEEPS and John grabs the money, twisting a
rubber band around it and throws it into a bag.

                       JOHN
You know Larry over there off
Florence and Log Cabin?

                       CHINO
What about him?

                       JOHN
His fucking spot got hit by a few
of them stick up kids from the
eastside a couple of days ago.

Chino's attention is taken by John's allegations. He looks
guilty.

2.

                       CHINO
Stick up kids? That's why I be
saying not to really fuck with
them new niggas.

                       JOHN
What's him being new got to do
with it? Besides, you was new
before.

Chino throws his hand at John and continues counting.

                       JOHN (Cont'd)
Besides, I can't really be holding
out. I mean shit, it's money out
there. And...

                       CHINO
The more workers holding your
package, the more money landing in
your hands.

                       JOHN
Right on time baby. All I know is
they better get it tight round
there or niggas won't be eatin'.

                       CHINO
While I was out of town, I heard
they got raided over there.

                       JOHN
Yeah. They be having them hoes
bagging up. One of them was
probably Po Po.

                       CHINO
What!?

                       JOHN
Yeah. All kinds of traffic running
in and out the house just making
the joint hot.

John puts some money in the machine and presses the button.

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
I can't run his business for him
but he better not fuck that money
up or I'm gonna have me a body.

Chino CHUCKLES.

3.

                       CHINO
You crazy.

                       JOHN
Shit is crazy. You know I don't be
going for that bullshit.
      (beat)
Don't got enough money for a
lawyer so they start snitching.

John grabs the money out the machine and ties it with a
rubber band tosses it into a brown moving box on the floor.

                       JOHN
I'm trying to live like a king,
while these goofy motherfuckers is
chasing these bitches.
      (looking around)
I'm done over here. What you got
now...

There is a KNOCK at the door drawing there attention. John
yells at the door.

                       JOHN
Who is it? Who is that?

                       JUNIOR (O.S.)
It's me dad.

                       JOHN
What you want, Junior?

The double doors slide open revealing JUNIOR, a black
teenage male wearing jeans and a white t-shirt.

                       JUNIOR
Can we go to Coney Island?

Junior stares at the pool table in shock. John walks around
the pool table to Junior blocking his view.

                       JOHN
Boy, what I tell you about just
barging your ass in here while i'm
in here?

beat

                       JOHN
If I don't tell you to come in
then you don't come in. Now what
you want?

4.

Junior is stuck in a daydream. John looks at Chino who is
leering.

                       JOHN
Junior!

                       JUNIOR
      (still in shock)
Huh!

                       JOHN
What did you want?

                       JUNIOR
I wanted to know if I can go to
Coney Island.

                       JOHN
Yeah.

Junior looks over toward the pool table and then at Chino,
noticing his smile. Junior's face slips into a slight frown.

                       CHINO
John, I didn't know you had a kid.
      (to Junior)
I'm Chino. your dad don't got
manners.

Chino GIGGLES. John pats his pockets for money.

                       JOHN
Shut up!

John lifts his shirt and reveals two stacks of money. He
pulls one out and rips the rubber band off. He counts
through some bills and give it Junior.

                       JOHN
Here. And bring me back some chili
cheese fries.
      (to Chino)
You hungry?

                       CHINO
I'm good.

                       JOHN
      (to Junior)
Hurry back. We need to talk.

Junior glances at Chino and then exits the room. John slides
the doors closed.

5.

                       CHINO
How old is he?

                       JOHN
Seventeen.

                       CHINO
Yeah?

                       JOHN
Yeah. Today, Gloria found a pack
of condoms when she was cleaning
his room.

                       CHINO
The birds and the bees, huh?

                       JOHN
      (smiling)
Yeah. I gotta talk to him.

                       CHINO
Yeah, because if you don't there
is always his friends he can learn
from.

                       JOHN
That's what i'm worried about.

INT. LIVING ROOM

Junior grabs his jacket off the sofa forcing his arms
through the sleeves. GLORIA, a slim attractive woman treads
lightly down the stairs. She looks disgusted.

                       GLORIA
Where do you think you are going
at this time of night?

                       JUNIOR
Coney Island.

                       GLORIA
Who told you that you can go, your
daddy?

                       JUNIOR
Yes.

Gloria looks disappointed.

                       GLORIA
Did he talk to you yet?

6.

                       JUNIOR
Talk to me about what?

Gloria pulls out a box of condoms from her shirt pocket.

                       GLORIA
These.

                       JUNIOR
Why would he want to talk to me
about his condoms?

                       GLORIA
Boy, don't play with me! These
ain't his condoms. I was cleaning
your room today and found them.

Junior looks embarrassed. He looks away from Gloria.

                       GLORIA
What do you have to say now?

                       JUNIOR
Those ain't mine those are...

Gloria swings her hand and hit Junior's head.

                       GLORIA
Don't you ever lie to me again.
Where did you get them from and
why do you got them?

Junior's head drops.

                       GLORIA
Me and you are going to finish
this conversation later on. Hurry
your butt back here.

Junior storms out of the door and slams it. Gloria stares at
the condoms looking puzzled.

                       GLORIA
      (to herself)
What am I going to do with that
boy?

LAUGHTER echo from the game room, grabbing her attention.

7.

INT. GAME ROOM - NIGHT

                       CHINO
I'm about to get out of here, but
when I hear something I'll
definitely let you know, aight?

                       JOHN
Do that for me will ya?

                       CHINO
F'sho.

                       JOHN
Okay.

Chino pulls back the door and walks by Gloria.

                       CHINO
See you later, Gloria.

Gloria doesn't acknowledge him walking into the game room.

                       GLORIA
You said you would talk to him.

John tosses money into the box, looking up at her. Gloria
waves the condoms.

                       JOHN
Don't you see I'm busy?

                       GLORIA
It seems like you always got time
for this shit, but you slide your
son off to the side.

John ignores her and starts counting money. He wraps a
rubber band around the stack and throws it in the bag.
Gloria stumps out.

                       GLORIA
It's like he don't even exist.

John rises from the pool table in chase of her.

                       JOHN
Wait! Wait. C'mon now.

                       GLORIA
No, because I'm sick of your shit!

8.

                       JOHN
I was going to talk to him when he
got back.

John walks behind Gloria and hugs her tightly by the waist.

                       JOHN
Are you alright?

                       GLORIA
No! No i'm not alright, John.

Gloria, angrily shakes out of his hold.

                       JOHN
What now?

Gloria turns around to him.

                       GLORIA
You need to start spending more
time with your son.

                       JOHN
I promise you I am.

                       GLORIA
You always say that. Then you find
a way out of spending time with
him. You don't care.

                       JOHN
I be busy.

                       GLORIA
So what? This morning, I found a
pack of condoms under his pillow.
He ain't ready for that yet.

                       JOHN
When is he supposed to be ready,
when he's fifty? Our son is a
teenager. He's handsome...

Gloria looks disgusted.

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
He's all state in basketball and
girls like 'em. All we doing is
making a big deal for nothing.

Gloria rolls her eyes and folds her arms.

9.

                       GLORIA
How is our son having sex not a
big deal?

                       JOHN
Because he's already made the wise
choice by using condoms. So what
that mean?

beat

                       JOHN
That means we're doing our job as
parents. You and me both. I love
you and him.

Gloria blushes. John smiles, pulling her close to him. They
french kiss for a beat. They then stare into each others
eyes while John rubs her hair.

                       JOHN
When he gets back I'm gonna talk
to him.

EXT. BASKETBALL COURT. PARK - NIGHT

Spotlights illuminate the full length basketball court.
Junior passes the ball to John, who launches a jump-shot
from behind the arc. With perfection, the ball hits nothing
but net.

                       JOHN
Son, I remember I used to be up
till three or four in the morning.
Just balling.

John receives the ball, releasing another shot. The ball
just rims in.

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
Our team was so good. We did a
three peat. From my sophomore year
to my senior year.

The ball hits the rim hard and John chases his rebound.
Junior moves behind the arc.

                       JUNIOR
What happened your freshman year?

10.

                       JOHN
I wasn't on varsity yet. But I
average forty on Junior Varsity.

Junior takes a dribble, setting his feet. He then releases
the ball with perfect rotation hitting all net. He receives
another pass and releases, hitting all net again.

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
I often wondered what life would
be like if I kept at it. But your
grandmother needed my help.

                       JUNIOR
Why?

                       JOHN
She was struggling. Plus, by that
time she had moved from Georgia up
here. Leon was into all kinds of
shit.

John looks disappointed.

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
But every since she died I've been
trapped in this business.

                       JUNIOR
Don't worry, dad. I'll make it to
the league for us.

They CHUCKLE

                       JOHN
I'm glad I did come home or I
probably wouldn't have met your
mother. Then what?

Junior shrugs

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
You probably wouldn't be here.

John chuckles. He then shuffles toward Junior.

                       JOHN
Your mother was a little upset
about those condoms.

                       JUNIOR
A little?

11.

                       JOHN
Okay, she was hella pissed. Me,
personally, I wasn't mad.

                       JUNIOR
Why is that?

                       JOHN
Because, I remember what it's like
to be seventeen. An athlete on top
of that.

beat

                       JOHN
I was proud to see that you
actually bought some condoms. A
lot of kids your age don't.

                       JUNIOR
Don't worry, I'm on top of it.

                       JOHN
You on top of it, huh? You just
make sure it stays that way. You
got a future ahead of you.

He dribbles the ball some.

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
Them little fast tailed girls
ain't going nowhere. But they will
make sure you don't either, ya
hear?

                       JUNIOR
Yes. Dad can I ask you something?

                       JOHN
What's that?

                       JUNIOR
Why don't uncle Leon come over to
the house no more?

                       JOHN
Your uncle and I, we disagreed on
some things. No big deal.You
understand loyalty?

Junior shrugs

12.

                       JUNIOR
Sure. I think.

                       JOHN
What you know?

                       JUNIOR
Loyalty. Never crossing your
friends. Not backstabbing.

                       JOHN
In a general sense, that's right.
But loyalty is way deeper then
that.

beat

                       JOHN (CONT'D)
If you choose a path, you stick
with it. Just make sure you choose
the right path, ya here?

                       JUNIOR
Yes.

                       JOHN
That's what make a man, a man.
Prepare for the hard times because
they are always near.

                       JUNIOR
Was uncle Leon disloyal?

John looks away, leering. He takes a deep breath.

                       JOHN
Nah. He just made a bad decision
that's all.

                       JUNIOR
What?

                       JOHN
Nothing. All you need to do is
keep playing ball. Me and your
mother will worry about the hard
stuff.

INT. HOMELESS MISSIONARY - DAY

Many homeless men, women, and children stand in line to get
food.

- A woman lays on her roll away bed wrapped in her blanket,
asleep.

- A man unloads his bags, setting his space with his
remains.

it's very little room.

- Bums lay on their beds asleep

Junior sits alone, looking depressed and not making eye
contact with anyone. SAINT, a teenage boy wearing ripped
dingy clothes, converses with two other bums glancing over
at Junior.

Junior lays stiff on his fold up bed staring at the wall.
Saint stands over Junior blocking his vision and appears to
be upside down.

                       SAINT
Hey!

Startled, Junior jumps to his feet. He grimaces Saint.

                       JUNIOR
What?

                       SAINT
I was about to go to Belle Isle.
Wanna go?

Junior shrugs

                       JUNIOR
I...I guess so.

                       HOMELESS BOY
Cool. I'm Saint.

                       JUNIOR
I'm John. You can just call me
Junior.

to him watching the sun.

                       SAINT
You know John, I never thought
that I would be living this bad.
Not that I was rich before this.

                       JUNIOR
What you talking about?

Saint picks up a rock and throws it into the river.

                       SAINT
My mom left me with a drug dealer
named LUNCH when I was a kid.

The silence is mutual between the two for a beat.

                       JUNIOR

                       SAINT

                       JUNIOR
What did she say?

                       SAINT
She said that he died in the army.

Saint skips a rock across the water.

                       SAINT
But, I didn't believe her. One
time I was playing in the hallway
and I over heard her on the phone.

Saint throws another rock.

                       SAINT
She was arguing and yelling, 'come
and see him sometimes'. But I
didn't know what she was talking
about at the time.

15.

                       JUNIOR
And the drug dealer?

Saint stares over at Windsor. Junior looks concerned.

                       SAINT
I always sit here and daydream
about going over there while I
skip rocks across the river.

Junior looks toward Windsor.

                       JUNIOR
Windsor? You ain't never been to
Windsor?

                       SAINT

Saint tries to pass Junior the cigarette.

                       SAINT
You wanna hit it? Here you go.

                       JUNIOR

That shit stinks.

It's silent between the two a beat. Saint exhale the smoke.

he'll definitely kill us.

What you see?

                       SAINT

As Saint peeks inside, the kitchen light pops on. Lunch

Saint creeps to the window while Junior follows with his

                       SAINT
You ready?

Junior nods. Saint tugs on the window, pulling it up hard
enough to open it and not make noise.

                       SAINT
Let's go.

Saint climbs in to a dark basement, quietly landing on his
feet. Junior follows, struggling to climb through. Saint
helps him.

They see a desk and a file cabinet.

                       SAINT
Check that desk. I'll check this
file cabinet.

Saint rambles through the cabinet, contacting only empty
boxes. He encounters one box pulling out .22 caliber pistol.
Junior rambles through the desk drawer.

                       SAINT
Damn.

                       JUNIOR

Junior holds up an envelope.

                       SAINT
See what's in it.

Junior rips the envelop seal emptying the contents onto the
floor. Saint grabs the money.

                       SAINT

I thought he said it was down

Where you get that?

                       SAINT
C'mon

The boys slide from under the stairs. Lunch closes the
window and locks it. He turns around and is startled. Saint
grips the pistol tight aiming it. Junior braces himself.

                       LUNCH

stare.

                       LUNCH
I remember you. Your Diane's son.
What happened to you? Me and the
boys missed you.

Lunch eases forward.

                       SAINT
Stop moving!

Lunch stops in his tracks. Junior has a cold look on his
face.

                       LUNCH
Or what? You don't even know what
to do with that.

Lunch charges at them and Saint FIRES off TWO SHOTS into his
chest. Lunch drops. Junior stands over the corpse, stunned.

                       SAINT
Let's get outta here.

Saint takes off running but notices Junior is stuck.

                       JUNIOR
We need to do something.

                       SAINT

Saint flashes the money.

                       JUNIOR

Saint shrugs

A casually dressed fairly handsome man, appearing to be in
his thirties, walks out of the store with a slight hunch in
his posture. It's LEON WILLIAMS

                       LEON

Leon smiles and looks out of the window.

                       LEON
I remember a time where blacks
weren't even allowed to cross into
the city limits, without getting
harassed by those racist ass cops.

                       HECTOR
The wealthy plant workers lived

The car turns onto another residential street. The street
sign reads "PASADENA". The Cadillac cruises the street,
passing by some projects where kids are playing double dutch
in the parking lot of the projects. The car slowly pulls to
the side of the street and parks.

                       SAINT

                       HECTOR
Mason! Come here.

                       JUNIOR
My fault, dog. I got some other
shit on my mind.

                       SAINT
You said you had to tell me
something.

Junior scratches his head for a beat and then he remembers.

                       JUNIOR
I just wanted to know if you was
happy with your situation.

Saint puffs the Black and Mild and exhales. He shrugs

                       SAINT
I'm cool. I mean, remember how we
were homeless, living fucked up? I
can't complain.

His eyes scour the room.

                       SAINT (CONT'D)
Now we getting money, got a place
to live, a car. I gotta tell you
my nigga, I'm happy.

Saint dumps the ashes into the tray and takes another puff.
Exhaling the smoke, he analyzes Junior.

                       SAINT
What about you?

Junior shrugs

                       JUNIOR
It's cool, I guess. But how long
we gonna make this small change,
barely getting by?

53.

Saint nods

                       JUNIOR
It's like everyday I wake up, get
dressed, and ride past important
office buildings, restaurants...

beat

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
...and I realize that those people
are running a whole other race
from ours.

                       SAINT
Why you say that?

                       JUNIOR
Because they legit and don't have
to worry about the law. They in a
world where credit is important.

Saint nods in agreement, puffing the cigar.

                       SAINT
So?

                       JUNIOR
So!? They don't have to worry
about the police, no snitches, no
vultures.
      (beat)
They got it made.

                       SAINT
How are we supposed to get like
them?

                       JUNIOR
I don't know. What I do know is
that if we get like them, our
worries will disappear.

                       SAINT
Why you trying to be like them? I
mean, aren't you happy where you
are?
      (beat)
Oh I forgot. You're busy trying to
own the city.

Saint CHUCKLES

54.

                       JUNIOR
My mother told me never to settle.

beat

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
In school, I never settled. Hoops,
I never settled. And I'm not about
to settle now.

INT. RESTAURANT - DAY

The restaurant is packed with people. People eat and order
at the bar. The booths are filled with people eating. In
walks JUNIOR pausing a beat at the door to look around. He
has a black duffel bag in his hand. He approaches the bar
where a waiter, a middle aged Arab-American about six foot
with dark hair, appears to be jotting down a woman's order.

                       JUNIOR
      (smiling)
Hey SONNY!

                       SONNY
Junior, what's up? Tell me
something new.

                       JUNIOR
Grinding. That's all it's about
with me.

                       SONNY
Yeah. You and me are a lot alike,
except you don't have to deal with
the complaints.

                       JUNIOR
Say's who?

Sonny smiles

                       SONNY
You looking for your uncle right?

                       JUNIOR
Where he at?

                       SONNY
He's way over there in the back
there.

55.

                       JUNIOR
      (Searching for him)
I see him. Hey Sonny, don't work
to hard alright?

                       SONNY
You got it, baby.

Junior walks away from the bar.

                       SONNY (O.S.)
Calm your fucking nerves I'm
coming.

Junior makes his way past two tables of people dinning, to a
table with Leon and Chino are eating.

                       JUNIOR
Unk, what's going on?

                       LEON
      (wiping his hands)
What's going on, young fella?

                       JUNIOR
The usual. You know how it is.

                       LEON
      (To CHINO)
Boy been making some money out
here.

                       JUNIOR
Who is this?

                       LEON
Junior this is my good friend,
Chino.

Chino, cleaned shaved wearing a linen suit, wipes his hands
and extends it greeting Junior.

                       CHINO
What's going on, kid?

Junior shakes Chino's hand.

                       LEON
Chino has been a good friend of
mine for a while. I wanna bring
him into the family.

Junior stares at Chino for a beat.

56.

                       LEON
Junior!

                       JUNIOR
Yeah... what's up?

                       LEON
What you think about that?

                       CHINO
      (smiling)
Can I be part of your family? He
look like he don't want me here,
Leon.

                       JUNIOR
      (smiling)
Oh... yeah, man. It's cool.

They all LAUGH.

                       CHINO
Just kidding, youngster. Leon, I'm
about to get out of here. Give me
a call, alright?

                       LEON
Yeah. Be safe.

Junior eyes Chino as he shuffles toward the exit.

                       LEON
You alright, nephew?

Junior awakens out of his daydream.

                       JUNIOR
Yeah.

                       LEON
So what's up? Have a seat.

Leon signals the server.

                       LEON
Did you want anything to drink?

                       JUNIOR
Nah, I'm straight.

Sonny steps to the table.

57.

                       LEON
Hey, bring me another ultimate
Long Island iced tea.

                       SONNY
Yes sir. Were you all done here?

                       LEON
You can go ahead and get those.

Sonny loads the plates into the busing bin and shuffles off.

                       LEON
So you had some business to talk
about?

                       JUNIOR
Yeah. I know you was skeptical
about fronting me more but me and
Saint want to start buying from
you.

Leon looks worried.

Sonny lays down a holster and then the Ultimate Long Island
iced tea and shuffles off.

                       LEON
What's wrong with the way things
are?

                       JUNIOR
Maybe not now or even five years
from now. But one day I want to
leave the game and do something
else.

                       LEON
Okay, but the township is mine. So
that means you would still have to
cut me a slice of the pie.

Leon sips the drink. Junior looks puzzled.

                       JUNIOR
Alright then how about this, you
continue to front us but cut us a
better deal on the birds.

                       LEON
What type of deal?

58.

                       JUNIOR
Fifteen even. And that way we can
buy some from you and you still
front us the usual. How's that?

                       LEON
The best I could do is twenty.

                       JUNIOR
Twenty grand?

Junior slouches in his seat, frowning.

                       LEON
That's the best I can do. I give
you a break I gotta start giving
everybody else one, understand?

Junior nods

                       JUNIOR
It's cool. Look I gotta run. I'm
supposed to meet up with my girl
in a little bit.

They shake hands

                       LEON
Alright nephew. In a minute.

Junior shuffles toward the door

INT. DINNING ROOM. JASMINE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

The door bell RINGS followed by a hard KNOCK. Jasmine looks
out the peephole for a beat and then swings the door open.
It's Junior.

                       JASMINE
Come right on in. Let me take your
jacket.

Jasmine helps Junior out of the jacket and hangs it in the
closet.

                       JASMINE
Go ahead and sit down, I was just
finishing up.

Junior sniffs the air, exaggeratedly.

59.

                       JUNIOR
Smells good. What you fix?

                       JUNIOR
Some pot roast with carrots and
potatoes and some rice and
cornbread.

Junior sits at the dinning table.

                       JUNIOR
What time your mother get off
work?

                       JASMINE (O.C.)
She went out of town.

                       JUNIOR
You about to be chillin, huh?

Jasmine sets a plate of food in front of Junior.

                       JUNIOR
Looks good.

Jasmine sets a container of Lemonade on the table.

                       JASMINE
Actually, I'm gonna take advantage
of this time to study and finish
these papers.

She sits at the table with her plate.

                       JUNIOR
So I won't be able to see you?

                       JASMINE
Of course I'm gonna make time for
you. But I got work to do.

Junior chews a piece of food absorbing the taste.

                       JASMINE
How is it?

                       JUNIOR
It's the truth.

60.

INT. BEDROOM. JASMINE'S HOUSE - DAY

Jasmine rests her head on Junior's bare chest while he lies
against the headboard.

                       JASMINE
I've been thinking.

                       JUNIOR
About what?

                       JASMINE
When the time is right, I'm gonna
start a non profit corporation.

                       JUNIOR
What's that?

                       JASMINE
Well, usually non profits are
created for the benefit of the
community.

                       JUNIOR
What they do?

                       JASMINE
Raise money which then serves the
community's causes. They also give
to other causes as well.

                       JUNIOR
You mean like a church or
something?

                       JASMINE
That would be a good example.
Religion is usually closely
involved with the community.

                       JUNIOR
Why do I always hear about
preachers stealing money and
moving to the Islands somewhere?

Jasmine CHUCKLES

                       JASMINE
That's a misrepresentation of what
preachers and churches are really
about.

Junior relaxes, staring at the ceiling for a beat.

61.

                       JASMINE
Why you get quiet?

                       JUNIOR
I was just thinking about
finishing school.

                       JASMINE
Really!? It's not too late. I mean
after all, you are only eighteen.

                       JUNIOR
Yeah but I'm not sure if I'm ready
to go back and be told what to do.

                       JASMINE
Then take a G.E.D. test. Then all
you would have to do is prep for
it and I could help with that.

                       JUNIOR
It was just a thought.

                       JASMINE
Put some serious thought into it.
What do you have to lose?

INT. OFFICE. HOUSE - DAY

Puncho holds a phone to his ear similtaneously jotting on a
piece of paper.

                       PUNCHO
Okay. Okay thank you.

Puncho sets the phone on its base, still jotting on the
paper. A KNOCK rattles the door.

                       PUNCHO
Come in.

Junior slowly pushes open the door, stepping in.

                       JUNIOR
What up doe?

                       PUNCHO
What's going on? Come on in here
and have a seat.

Junior closes the door and sits at the desk.

62.

                       PUNCHO
What business you got for me?

                       JUNIOR
I'm going to get straight to the
point. My uncle is playing me.

                       PUNCHO
How?

                       JUNIOR
I went to him with a proposition
that could benefit us both.

                       PUNCHO
What was it?

                       JUNIOR
It was two things. One was about
me and Saint copping from him
instead of working.

                       PUNCHO
Why didn't he do it?

                       JUNIOR
Some ol' bullshit about if he did
that for me then he would have to
do it for everybody.

Puncho shrugs, looking confused.

                       JUNIOR
For some reason I understood it
and didn't even sweat it.

                       PUNCHO
What was the other proposition?

                       JUNIOR
That he let me and Saint put up
some money and he front the rest.

                       PUNCHO
And he refused?

Junior nods

                       PUNCHO
So why you come to me?

63.

                       JUNIOR
I was hoping you could point me in
a direction.

                       PUNCHO
You mean put you on?

                       JUNIOR
Or that.

                       PUNCHO
Where would you do business?

                       JUNIOR
In the Township.

                       PUNCHO
But that's still your uncle's
turf. And that can cause problems.

                       JUNIOR
Not really. If I go to them with
better prices, they'll leave him
and cop from me.

                       PUNCHO
And you can gurantee that?

                       JUNIOR
Yep. Already some of them started
getting they work from Bear. And
all he doing is middling.

beat

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
We could take over the streets.
Custos would see me. I'd see you.
I'll bring you more business.

Puncho sit back in his seat in thought for a beat.

                       PUNCHO
How many bricks can you handle? I
don't deal with nothing small.

                       JUNIOR
Front me thirty. I'll get more if
I need it.

                       PUNCHO
And you sure you can handle it?

64.

                       JUNIOR
I can handle it.

                       PUNCHO
Alright. Let me contact my people.
You get with me in a few days.

They shake hands.

                       JUNIOR
Okay.

INT. LIVINGROOM. STASH HOUSE - NIGHT

The room is filled with drug dealers. Junior stands in the
center of the room. In the b.g., Saint leans against the
back wall watching.

                       JUNIOR
Check it out, I called y'all here
because a lot of shit is about to
change.

The dealers tune in.

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
As you can see, I got niggas from
all over. I did that for a reason.
It's money everywhere.

Junior focuses around the room.

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
East side, West side, especially
over in zombie land in Highland
Park.

Junior glances around the room. BEAR, a scary heavy set guy
who looks like the streets is all he know, speaks with a
slow-heavy tone.

                       BEAR
What we supposed to do about Leon?

Tre, a lanky guy wearing a ponytail, pulls off his hood.

                       TRE
Yeah because you know that nigga
is deep out here.

65.

                       JUNIOR
Don't worry about that. I got that
covered.

Bear and Tre look at each other concerned.

                       TRE

Jasmine and Rhonda stroll the hallway both holding shopping
bags.

                       JASMINE
What store you want to hit next?

                       RHONDA
It don't matter. Dang, girl you
sound like you are in a rush.

                       JASMINE
I want to finish these two papers
so I can be free tomorrow. It's
John's nineteenth birthday.

                       RHONDA
What y'all supposed to do?

                       JASMINE
Probably go out to eat. It don't

                       RHONDA
You got it made.

                       JASMINE
Why you say that?

                       RHONDA
You living in a mansion, driving a
nice car, and you got a man that
would do anything for you.

                       JASMINE
That's true. But it's not like I
won't do the same for him.

                       RHONDA
You don't have to. If that was me,
I would be kicking my feet making
him do everything.

                       JASMINE
It's not even like that. I can
pave my own way.

Rhonda squints her face in disbelief.

71.

                       JASMINE
I'm not happy with him hustling.
The only reason I deal with it is
because I love him.

                       RHONDA
Yeah, but you sure as hell like
that B.M.W. that he bought you.
I'm gonna get me a man with money.

They Chuckle.

                       JASMINE
You a gold digger.

                       RHONDA
So.

                       JASMINE
So!? Girl, good only comes to
those that attempt to help
themselves. Not sloths like you.

                       RHONDA
I am not a sloth. I'll be getting
up to ask him for money. And I'll
be going shopping.

                       JASMINE
That's bad.

                       RHONDA
I'm bad aren't I?

Jasmine Chuckles, nodding.

                       RHONDA
I know. On top of that, men do it.
Remember my ex, Reginald?

Jasmine nods

                       RHONDA (CONT'D)

beat

                       RHONDA
After that, I was like to hell
with a relationship.

72.

                       JASMINE
I hear you. Relationships can get
like that. But it takes two in
order for it to work, you feel me?

                       RHONDA
I hear you. Ooh, let's get a
cinnabun.

                       JASMINE
I've been having a taste for one
of those.

                       JARRET
How did you like the upstairs?

                       JUNIOR
The setting was really nice. It's
smaller but more relaxed.

                       JARRET
I think the last person to own
this place used it as the V.I.P.
area.

Jarret leans against the bar watching Junior, who eyes
wonder checking out the club.

                       JARRET (CONT'D)
It's in a good area so there isn't
much competition when you open up.
What you think?

                       JUNIOR
I like it, I like it. You have a
card?

                       JARRET
Surely I do.

Alexander pulls a card out handing it to him. Junior
Analyzes the card.

                       JARRET (CONT'D)
That's my office number at the
top. Cell number under it. Call
when you ready to do business.

73.

Junior nods.

                       LEON

                       LA LA
Nothing except they want my answer
by tomorrow. What you want me to
do?

                       LEON
Take the offer.

                       LA LA

La La nods in agreement.

                       LEON

'em what they wanna hear. And
relax it will be handled.

                       LA LA
Alright.

He daps Leon and exits.

74.

                       LEON
Get that cop on the phone.

INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT

The restaurant's setting is romantic. Everyone is dressed
casual or formal.

Junior and Jasmine are seated at a booth, sitting across
from each other, eating.

                       JUNIOR
I went and checked out this empty
club space.

                       JASMINE
What did it look like?

                       JUNIOR
The downstairs is huge. Nice sized
dance floor with two bars on each
side of it.

Jasmine cuts a piece of her food, sticking it in her mouth.

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
The upstairs has one bar with a
smaller dance floor. It's smaller
but cozier.

                       JASMINE
Sounds really nice. You think you
might buy it?

                       JUNIOR
I think so. You know what else?

                       JASMINE
What?

                       JUNIOR
This club might be an up start for
me to get out the game and go all
the way legit...

Jasmine looks surprised.

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
...and maybe return to my life.
The life that I always glorified.

75.

                       JASMINE
      (smiling)
Can I come?

                       JUNIOR
Will you?

Jasmine smiles and nods

EXT. PARKING LOT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT

As they walk, Jasmine locks tight onto Junior's arm.

                       JASMINE
I know I've been hounding you
about change but I am glad to see
you've thought about it.

                       JUNIOR
That's really important to you,
huh?

Jasmine nods

                       JASMINE
I mean, I worry about you every
second of every minute you're out
there.

They make their way to a black Rolls Royce. Junior opens the
passenger door and Jasmine eases into the seat. An unmarked
police car whips in front of the Rolls Royce, blocking it
off.

                       PONY TAIL
John, how you doing?

Junior nods

Junior slams the door watching PONY TAIL, an athletic built
man wearing a button up shirt, with a pony tail hanging from
the back of his neck. His badge hangs from his neck, step
out of the passenger seat. In the b.g., GREEDY, a short bald
guy, barley handsome, wearing a white T-Shirt with his badge
around his neck, watching his partner's back.

                       PONY TAIL (CONT'D)
Do you know who I am?

Junior looks vexed

76.

                       JUNIOR
I think so. You're that narco cop,
Pony Tail right?

                       PONY TAIL
Captain of the detective division
and you remember it. That's my
partner Greedy.

                       JUNIOR
So, what's a famous man, like
yourself, want with me?

                       PONY TAIL
What I want with you? You the man,
right?

Junior looks confused.

                       JUNIOR
The man? What you mean like a
male?

                       PONY TAIL
I see you a funny guy.

He pulls a card out of his back pocket and hands it to
Junior. Jasmine looks worried.

                       JUNIOR
What's this?

                       PONY TAIL
Forty grand every first of the
month. You late, I tax five
grand,you got that boy?

Junior looks vexed. Pony Tail makes his way toward the car,
suddenly stopping.

                       PONY TAIL
Oh yeah, the first is friday.

Junior watches the unmarked police car stab off. He makes
his way to the drives side and slides in, slamming the door.

                       JASMINE
Who was that?

                       JUNIOR
Some new friends.

77.

The Rolls Royce's headlights pop on and the car pulls off
slowly.

of a sudden.

                       JUNIOR

Jasmine stops him from moving.

do on your finals?

                       JASMINE
I think I did pretty good. I hope
I did.

Junior shuffles to a set of elevators.

                       JUNIOR
That's good. What you getting
ready to do?

                       JASMINE
I'm about to sell these books back
and go to the house. What time you
coming home?

Junior presses the elevator button.

                       JUNIOR
I don't know. Let me call you
back. I'm about to get on the
elevator.

He flips the phone closed. (END INTERCUT)

The elevator doors open and Junior steps in pressing the
seventh floor. The doors close.

INT. SEVENTH FLOOR. HOTEL

The elevator doors open and Junior steps off glancing at the
piece of paper. He shuffles down the hallway to room number
"Seven Fifteen" and KNOCKS. He waits for a beat. MIGUEL, A
Mexican guy wearing a linen suit with a buzz hair cut, opens
the door. He speaks broken English:

                       MIGUEL
Who are you?

Junior hesitates, searching for words.

92.

                       JUNIOR
Somebody had uh...brought this
by...

Junior gives him the piece of paper.

                       JUNIOR
...and told me to come here.

Miguel steps out of the door way. In the b.g., Puncho sits
in a wheel chair, with his body guard in his shadow. Junior
smiles.

                       MIGUEL
Is this him?

                       PUNCHO
Yeah.

                       MIGUEL
Come in.

Junior steps in and Miguel closes the door.

INT. HOTEL ROOM - DAY

Junior walks to Puncho checking him out.

                       JUNIOR
      (smiling)
It's good to see you, man. I
thought you was dead. You alright?

                       PUNCHO
I'll be alright. I didn't want
people knowing I was alive or my
where abouts.

He gestures toward CARLOS, a short bald mexican man standing
with a straight up posture who looks like he dealt cocaine
his whole life.

                       PUNCHO
That's CARLOS, Miguel's older
brother. He handles business in
Mexico. Miguel handles them here.

Junior greets them with a nod.

                       PUNCHO (CONT'D)
I've been doing business with them
a long time. Now it's your turn.

93.

                       JUNIOR
What you mean by that?

                       PUNCHO
I'm stepping out. You'll do
business directly with them. I'll
guide you.

                       MIGUEL
Puncho tells us good things, me
and my brother. Money always on
time. Never any complaints...

Miguel squats into a chair.

                       MIGUEL
...but he also tells me that you
are at war with your uncle, is
that right?

                       JUNIOR
Me and Puncho has done much
business. This thing with my
uncle, I'll take care of it.

Carlos speaks in broken English:

                       CARLOS
We want you to assure us that this
war want effect the business.

                       JUNIOR
I can gurantee that.

                       MIGUEL
How?

                       JUNIOR
This is a petty street war. My
uncle couldn't begin to think how
I run my operation.

Miguel looks to Carlos and speaks SPANISH:

                       MIGUEL
What you think?

                       CARLOS
I think the kid has what it takes.
Besides, Puncho's word is good
with me.

94.

Miguel nods, turning toward Junior and Puncho speaking
broken english.

                       MIGUEL
We trust your word.

Junior nods

                       JUNIOR
That is the most important thing
in this game.

                       CARLOS
It is not a game. This, my friend,
is the drug business.

                       MIGUEL
Yes, the drug business. You see...

Miguel stands and approach Junior.

                       MIGUEL (CONT'D)
...petty street dealers play
games. They run from the police.
They toss a sack. Lose a sack.

                       CARLOS
That is bullshit.

                       MIGUEL
Yes, bullshit. At this level, we
move weight. We're not part of the
riff raft.

Miguel walks shuffles toward his brother.

Junior nods. Puncho releases a small CHUCKLE.

                       PUNCHO
Don't worry, young boy. They
grilled me the same way when your
father introduced them to me.

                       JUNIOR
You knew my father?

                       CARLOS
Yes. He was good man. Smart. He
made us lots of money and he made
lots of money.

                       MIGUEL
His death was very painful to us.

95.

Junior absorbs everything.

                       PUNCHO
Junior, let us meet up in a few
days so we can talk.

Junior nods

INT. LIVING ROOM. JUNIOR'S MANSION - NIGHT

The living room is dim with the fire place in a full blaze,
illuminating part of the room. As they relax on the sofa,
Jasmine's head rest on Junior's lap.

                       JASMINE
So, how is the club coming along?

                       JUNIOR
It's good. Just in the middle of
remodeling. It's gonna be nice.

                       JASMINE
I can't wait to see it.

Jasmine gazes off into the flame for a beat.

                       JASMINE (CONT'D)
Do you ever think about your
parents?

                       JUNIOR
Yeah, I do. But I try not to
because I still feel pain.

                       JASMINE
What were they like?

                       JUNIOR
They made sure that I had what I
needed. I felt secure when they
were around. Like a family.

                       JASMINE
We need to start thinking like
them.

Junior looks confused.

                       JUNIOR
What's that supposed to mean?

96.

                       JASMINE
Exactly what I said.

                       JUNIOR
I thought that's what I was doing?

                       JASMINE
I said a family, John. As in me,
you, and a baby.

                       JUNIOR
Oh.

Junior is quiet for a beat and then he realizes.

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
Ooh! You...

Jasmine nods, smiling. Junor smiles

                       JASMINE
...six weeks pregnant. You always
saying when the time is right,
you'll get out the streets.
      (beat)
Is now a good time?

Junior shrugs. Jasmine sits up straight looking confused.

                       JASMINE
What is that supposed to mean?

                       JUNIOR
What are we going to do when I get
out the game?

                       JASMINE
Anything. You already opening up a
club. Then there is plenty of
other oppurtunities.

                       JUNIOR
It's not that simple.

                       JASMINE
You know what, you don't want to
get out.

                       JUNIOR
I'm just looking out for our well
being...

97.

                       JASMINE
No! John, you are looking out for
your well being. And you know
what?

                       JUNIOR
What?

                       JASMINE
If you are only going to look out
for your well being then I won't
keep the baby. Our baby.

Jasmine stares at Junior disgustedly for a beat. She then
stand and walk out the room. Junior stares into the fire
place in deep concentration.

INT. LIVING ROOM. LEON'S MANSION - DAY

Hector leads Junior into the living room. Leon extends his
hand and Junior shakes it.

                       LEON
Nephew, good to see you. I'm glad
you decided to end all this
foolishness.

                       JUNIOR
Yeah, that's what I'm here for.

Leon smiles. He looks to Hector

                       LEON
We gonna talk alone. Close the
doors on your way out.

Hector exits, closing the double door simultaneously.

                       LEON
Let's talk on the patio and get
some fresh air while we talk.

EXT. PATIO. LEON'S MANSION

Leon and Junior sit at a table across from each other.

                       LEON
I never intended on doing no harm
to you. But you gotta understand
that there is rules.

98.

                       JUNIOR
I know, unk. And this is why I
decided to make the peace.

                       LEON
What's crazy about this situation
is that I taught you the rules.
You know the rules.

beat

                       LEON
I didn't get mad when you stopped
working for me. That happens in
the game all the time.

Leon sits up in his chair.

                       LEON (CONT'D)
I got mad when you started dealing
on my turf with somebody else
work.

beat

                       LEON
Just cut me completely out. But
it's dues that you owe and you
weren't willing to pay.

                       JUNIOR
When I asked you to let me and
Saint put up half the money, why
didn't you let us?

                       LEON
What happens when I front you more
than you can handle and my money
don't come back?

Junior looks disappointed.

                       LEON (CONT'D)
I have to make decisions that I
don't want to.

                       JUNIOR
The most important thing right now
is that this beef ends. The past
is irrelevant.

99.

                       LEON
That's fine with me. I never
wanted it like this anyway.

                       JUNIOR
I got a weakness for kids. When
that kid got popped, it made me
realize...

beat

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
...no amount of money in the world
is worth a life.

                       LEON
You absolutely right. Hey listen,
I'm sorry about Puncho. But death
is apart of this game we play.

                       JUNIOR
You right. And I should have
handled things differently. I'm
just ready to get past all of
this.

                       LEON
With him gone, I feel that it's
only right that I front you what
you need, now that I know you can
handle it.

                       JUNIOR
That's fair.

He then stands, pulling package of money out of his crouch
and hands it to him. A grin crinkles Leon's face.

                       JUNIOR
That's fifty grand. A gift for our
new deal.

                       LEON
Alright.

EXT. RIVER BANK. BELLE ISLE - DAY

Junior and Saint sit on the edge of the river bank.

100.

                       JUNIOR
I said I was gonna be rich one
day. But it was all N.B.A. dreams
though.

                       SAINT
When I was a kid I had no dreams
at all. Just hope that I would
live to see the next day.

beat

                       SAINT (CONT'D)
I'm really glad we met. Me and
you, we've came so far. From ashy
to classy. Remember that
missionary?

                       JUNIOR
Yeah. We've come too far to turn
back. It's all about progress.
Every move must be precise.

Saint nods

                       JUNIOR
That's if we want to survive in
this business. But I'm starting to
think that this business isn't for
me.

Saint stares off into the river.

                       SAINT
That night at the hotel. What made
you say that?

                       JUNIOR
What?

                       SAINT
You said that you was going to own
this city one day. Why?

Junior looks concentrated, sitting quiet for a beat.

                       JUNIOR
I was anxious.

                       SAINT
Anxious?

101.

                       JUNIOR
Yeah, anxious. Anxious that I was
getting another shot at the good
life.

Saint stares on at attention.

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
I thought by hustling, I would get
that adrenaline rush like what I
got when I played hoops.
      (beat)
Win the game and make my father
and mother proud. But I was blind.

                       SAINT
How?

                       JUNIOR
Because, there ain't no winning in
this game. Just a bunch of
heartbreaking losses. And then...

Saint tunes in to Junior with a blank facial expression.

                       JUNIOR
...we become a bunch of has beens.
Old school niggas who reflect on
the glory days.

Junior's face wrinkles slightly while he stares into Saint's
face.

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
I don't want to be no fucking has
been.

They both focus toward Windsor.

INT. TRUCK - DAY

Biz waits patiently, siting at the steering wheel. La La
swings the door open, gets in and slams it.

                       LA LA
What up doe?

                       BIZ
Junior wanna meet up.

                       LA LA
Bet.

102.

The truck turns into an old parking lot and into a parking
space.

                       LA LA
Where he at?

                       BIZ
He should be here in a minute. He
say he was in southwest.

                       LA LA
He'll be a minute. How did he fall
out with Leon in the first place?

                       BIZ
I don't know. I guess that's how
bosses do. But you know what?

                       LA LA
What's that?

Biz yanks out a black Nine millimeter firing two SHOTS into
La La's head. She exits the truck and run to a burgundy
Mercury Marauder. She gets in and the tires SCREECH the
road, stabbing off.

EXT. POLICE CAR GARAGE - DAY

Pony Tail exit the department doors into the garage,
shuffling toward an unmarked Crown Victoria. He slams the
door and turns starts the ignition. The car EXPLODES into a
huge blaze of fire.

INT. OFFICE. POLICE PRECINCT

Greedy sits at a desk with a cellphone to his ear.

INT. OFFICE. CLUB FAMILIAR

A cellphone vibrates the desk top. Junior presses the talk
button and puts it to his ear. (INTERCUT PHONE SEQUENCE)

                       JUNIOR
Yeah!?

                       GREEDY
It's done. Where do I pick up my
money?

                       JUNIOR
Same place. I'll send somebody
over there with it.

103.

He mash the end button, sitting back into his chair with a
smirk. (END INTERCUT SEQUENCE)

INT. HOTEL ROOM - DAY

Puncho folds a news paper, tossing it on the coffee table in
front of Junior.

                       PUNCHO
You seen this yet, youngster?

                       JUNIOR
Yeah. Yeah I've seen it.

Puncho looks concerned

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
Wasn't even a piece of that bomb
left. My man made it look like
some faulty wiring in the car.

                       PUNCHO
Okay.

Junior nods

                       JUNIOR
I told you I got everything
covered.

Puncho nods

                       PUNCHO
Let's do business.

Junior takes a seat in a chair.

                       PUNCHO (CONT'D)
I found out that Leon was
supplying niggas all down river in
Inkster and shit.

                       JUNIOR
What is there relationship with
him outside of business?

                       PUNCHO
There isn't one. Just business.

                       JUNIOR
So they're with whatever?

104.

                       PUNCHO
Gotta get rid of him. It has to be
done right because if it ain't,
you might start a war.

                       JUNIOR
I know this.

                       PUNCHO
How's the club coming along?

                       JUNIOR
Good. The construction crew is
nearly finished. Next, I would
have to get it inspected.

                       PUNCHO
I found somebody to be the front
owner. Good dude. His name is
Eddie Burton.

                       JUNIOR
Cool. Have him contact me so we
can talk.

Puncho nods. He then stares off into the ceiling.

                       PUNCHO
I remember back when ya pop was
alive. He showed love. He made
sure everybody ate.

Junior concentrates on Puncho's every word.

                       PUNCHO
Now, the game is fucked up. There
is no morals. No rules. Vultures
will kill your family for the
dollar.

With a straight face, Puncho looks at Junior.

                       PUNCHO
It's time me and you have a little
talk.

                       JUNIOR
About what?

                       PUNCHO
Your dad ever tell you why he and
Leon fell out?

105.

Junior squints with confusion.

                       JUNIOR
Nah.

beat

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
Wait a minute. You knew Leon
killed my folks?

                       PUNCHO
No. Leon made a swop with a
undercover and they had the shit
on tape.

                       JUNIOR
What's that gotta do with my dad?

                       PUNCHO
Let me tell you. See, Leon was
always blowing his money. So once
he got caught up.

                       JUNIOR
He didn't have money for a lawyer.

Puncho nods

                       JUNIOR (CONT'D)
So you saying he a rat?

                       PUNCHO
Your dad found out and stop
dealing with him.

Junior's winces.

                       PUNCHO
Your dad and I was close, even
though we had our own cliques.
After that, I was done with it.

beat

                       PUNCHO (CONT'D)
I couldn't deal with these streets
no more. These are the ills of the
business. Get ready.

106.

EXT. CHINO'S HOUSE - DAY

Saint, wearing a Jet's Pizza ball cap and T-shirt,
approaches a house holding a hot pizza bag. He RINGS the
doorbell, waiting for a beat. The door opens. It's Chino.

                       CHINO
Yeah.

                       SAINT
You ordered two large ham and
cheese pizzas?

                       CHINO
No.

Chino looks closely into Saint's face for a beat.

                       CHINO (CONT'D)
Wait. Don't I...

Three SHOTS are fired, ripping holes through the hot pizza
bag. Chino falls to his death and Saint runs to a black
impala, gets in and the car stabs off.

INT. CLUB FAMILIAR - DAY

Junior; Saint; Jarret; and EDWARD BURTON, a bald guy who
looks in his late twenties that's dressed casual. He has a
contract in front of him.

                       JUNIOR
So you went to school for Business
management and Marketing.

                       EDDIE B
Yeah. I always believed they went
hand in hand.

                       JARRET
Looks like you got the right guy
on your team.

                       SAINT
Yeah.

                       JARRET
Basically, by signing the contract
you agree to ownership. Now here's
the tricky part.

107.

Jarret reaches in front of Eddie and flips the contract to a
different page.

                       JARRET (CONT'D)
The liquor license is included in
the sale of this property. By
signing you are sole owner.

                       JUNIOR
Up front owner.

                       SAINT
Meaning on paper.

                       JUNIOR
All you are doing is managing the
joint. We'll back you with the
money needed to run the joint.

                       JARRET
Have you read and understand the
terms in the contract?

                       EDDIE B
Everything is clear. I have some
friends that I feel is qualified
and want to help out.

                       JUNIOR
As long as you trust them, it's
cool with me.

Jarret reaches in front of Eddie and flips a page of the
contract. He marks an "X" by the singing line.

                       JARRET
By signing here, you agree to the
terms.

Jarret hands Eddie the pen and he signs the contract. Jarret
takes the contract and the pen. Everyone stands to their
feet. Jarret shakes Edward's hand and then Junior and
Saint's.

                       JARRET
I'll send you all copies of the
signed contract for your records.

Jarret exits

                       JUNIOR
Okay, Jarret.

108.

Junior pulls out of his waist, a stack of cash wrapped in a
rubber band. Eddie B eyebrows raise as Junior hands him the
stack.

                       JUNIOR
An incentive. I want all your
attention toward running the club,
alright?

Eddie smiles, playing with the money.

                       EDDIE B
Alright.

                       LEON

                       JUNIOR
You know the club's grand opening

                       LEON

                       JUNIOR

                       JUNIOR
Let's toast: to the good life.

                       LEON
To the good life.

They bump glasses and drink.

Leon looks around.

                       LEON (CONT'D)
Why we stop?

Leon looks suspicious

I didn't read it all, but I really like the direction and the dialogue is extremely believable. You're not from Detroit by any chance. I saw Coney Island, and I thought maybe... Please read my story it's called BI. Thank you kindly.
