FADE IN:

INT. CRYPT - DAY

A hooded girl, holding an old book of Pinocchio, slowly
walks down the steps of the crypt and to a candlelit table.
She walks to the table and sits down. She opens the book and
begins to read.

                       LITTLE GIRL
Everyone knows the story of
Pinocchio, but no one really knows
the true story. When the blue
fairy granted Geppetto's wish for
the wooden puppet to come to life,
that was a fatal mistake. You see
Pinocchio only had one true
friend. A cricket by the name of
Jiminy also his conscience, but
Jiminy had become a very big part
of Pinocchio's life. A very big
and terrifying part. One that
would remain a haunting, bloody
legend for centuries to come.

EXT. OLD LOG CABIN - NIGHT

Geppetto is gathering wood for the fireplace. He walks in
the house, and a crunch sound echos through the dark night
sky.

                       GEPPETTO
Darn crickets. Wow, that was a big
one.

Geppetto walks back outside.

A wooden hand grabs a hammer off the carpenter's work table.

Geppetto's outside whistling while he's stacking some
bricks. A hammer slowly rises up behind him. Geppetto turns
around, but nothing is there. Geppetto continues to stack
his bricks. The hammer rises again, but this time it comes
down. Smashing and crunching sounds are heard. Blood
splatters on the side of the cabin.

INT. OLD LOG CABIN - NIGHT

Pinocchio looks down and sees the cricket laying on the
floor. Then a soft voice is heard.

2.

                       THE BLUE FAIRY
Pinocchio.

Pinocchio looks up and sees the Blue Fairy.

                       THE BLUE FAIRY
Do you know what you have done?
You have done a very heinous and
unforgivable act.

Pinocchio doesn't say a word.

                       THE BLUE FAIRY
For this act, Pinocchio, you shall
be forever cursed and locked away
in confinement. Also for this
vicious act,your appearance will
be altered to fit your crime.
Anyone that sets you free, will be
damned and gravely suffer the
consequences.

A flash occurs and Pinocchio is locked away in a large
wooden box. Pinocchio can be heard from inside the box.

                       PINOCCHIO
That's ok, Jiminy. I still have
you.

INT. OFFICE - THE PRESENT - DAY

A man sitting at a desk talking on the phone.

                       MAN IN OFFICE
Yes, Miss Brooks. Janet, I have
already sent them out there.

Miss Brooks is heard over the phone.

                       MS. BROOKS
I've been waiting here for an
hour.

                       MAN IN OFFICE
It's not going to kill you to wait
a little longer.

                       MS. BROOKS
This place gives me the creeps.

3.

                       MAN IN OFFICE
Look, their young, I'm sure
they're taking they're time.

                       MS. BROOKS
Don't the office already have the
information?

                       MAN IN OFFICE
No, we don't. Look, If their not
there in the the next 5 minutes,
then you can leave.

                       MS. BROOKS
Alright. Five minutes.

They both hang up.

EXT. OLD LOG CABIN - DAY

Ms Brooks hangs her cell phone up. A van pulls up and a
group of people get out.

The group looks around.

                       MS. BROOKS
You must be the interns.

                       VALERIE
Yeah.

Ms. Brooks introduces herself.

                       MS. BROOKS
I'm Janet Brooks, you can call me
Miss Brooks.

                       VALERIE
I'm Valerie.

Valerie introduces everyone.

                       VALERIE
This is Mark, Trey, Tina, Derek,
Layla,and Melanie.

                       MS. BROOKS
It's very nice to meet you all. I
take it you know your purpose for
being here?

4.

                       TREY
Yeah, we have to study or
something.

                       MS. BROOKS
Actually, you are here to collect
data for the History Society. That
means you will be doing research
and study of this place. Any
questions?

                       DEREK
Yeah, um, what about the murder?

Ms. Brooks smiles.

                       MS. BROOKS
The murder of Geppetto Velero is
nothing more than a twisted,
childhood fairytale.

                       LAYLA
It was suppose to have been a
puppet or something?

                       MS. BROOKS
The classic fairytale story of
Pinocchio.

                       TINA
Wasn't that like a cartoon or
something?

                       MS. BROOKS
Yeah, the cartoon was the folklore
turned into a children's version.

                       MELANIE
So, what are we doing here?

                       MS. BROOKS
You will only be doing a small
research project to gather
information.

                       TREY
Information on what?

                       MS. BROOKS
Since there's really no hardcore
evidence that Pinocchio ever
really existed, it is your job to
find at least a little bit of
proof. So, go home and get some

5.

                       MS. BROOKS (cont'd)
rest and the clean up crew will be
here in awhile to clean things up
for you guys tomorrow. I have to
run to the office and do some
paper work and I will see you all
tomorrow.

Ms. Brooks gets in her car and drives away. The group is
still standing looking at each other.

EXT. OLD LOG CABIN - DAY

A pick-up truck pulls up and the two clean-up crewmen get
out. They look around a bit, then they walk over to the
cabin. They see some boxes laying on the ground by the
cabin.

                       CREWMAN 1
These boxes must be it.

                       CREWMAN 2
Yeah, I don't see anything else
that needs to be taken.

They walk over and start moving some things out of the way.

                       CREWMAN 2
We just toss these on the back of
the truck?

Crewman 1 looks at Crewman 2

                       CREWMAN 1
Yeah, she never really said where
to put them, so I guess it doesn't
really matter.

The crewmen toss the boxes onto the truck bed. Then crewman
2 sees something. He walks over to the cabin. Crewman 1,
moving things around in the truck bed, turns around and sees
that crewman 2 is gone.

                       CREWMAN 1
Bobby, where'd you go, man?

Crewman 1 walks over to the back of the cabin. Then, crewman
2 steps out from behind the cabin.

6.

                       CREWMAN 2
      (pointing behind
       him)
You should see these carvings.

Crewman 1 follows his partner and sees some rude carvings in
the old wood.

                       CREWMAN 1
      (Looking at the
       cabin)
That's pretty funny.

                       CREWMAN 2
      (Standing)
I know.

Crewman 1 walks off.

                       CREWMAN 2
      (Turning)
Hey, where you going?

                       CREWMAN 1
      (Walking)
To take a piss.

Crewman 1 walks over to the edge of the creek to urinate. He
looks up and sees an old wooden box sitting across the creek
covered in vines and moss.

                       CREWMAN 1
      (Standing)
Hey, come look at this.

Crewman 2 walks over to him and sees the box from across the
creek.

                       CREWMAN 1
      (Standing)
Go get the crowbar.

Crewman 2 walks to the truck to get the crowbar, while
Crewman 1 walks across the creek to the wooden box. Crewman
1 starts slowly pulling the vines off the box, then Crewman
2 comes back with the crowbar.

                       CREWMAN 2
      (Standing)
Here's the crowbar.

He hands the crowbar to Crewman 1.

7.

                       CREWMAN 1
      (Squatting)
I wonder where this one came from?

Crewman 2 squats down beside his partner.

                       CREWMAN 2
      (Squatting)
We know where it came from, but
what's it doing over here?

                       CREWMAN 1
      (Squatting)
I don't know. I wonder what it is.

                       CREWMAN 2
      (Squatting)
I don't know, let's go ahead and
open it and see what's inside.

The crewmen place the crowbar under the box top and crack it
open.

                       CREWMAN 1
      (Puzzeled look)
What the hell is that?

Crewman 1, eyes widened with terror, falls to the ground and
screams. Crewman 2 tries to run, but trips. He turns and
screams.

EXT. CABIN - DAY

Van arrives and the group of interns get out.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
This is going to be a long day.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Tell me about it. I didn't get any
sleep last night.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
It won't be too bad.

8.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Wasn't Ms. Brooks suppose to be
here?

                       TINA
      (Standing)
I think she's suppose to be here
later on.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
Anyone staying tonight?

                       TREY
      (Standing)
Hell with that, man. I'm not
staying here after dark.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
Are you scared of the boogeyman?

                       TREY
      (Standing)
Baby, I am the boogeyman.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing, not
       amused)
Ha,Ha, very funny.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
I guess the clean up crew came and
did their thing. So, now we can do
ours.

The group starts walking around.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
I'm gonna go for a walk.

                       TINA
      (Standing up)
Sounds good. I think that's what I
need. Sitting in a van for 45
minutes gets a little tiresome.

Mark and Tina walk off through the woods.

Ms. Brooks pulls up in her car.

9.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
Hey, she's here.

Ms. Brooks gets out of her car and starts walking over to
the cabin.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
Hey, Ms. Brooks.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Walking)
Hey, Melanie. So, how's things
coming?

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Fairly good. We're just getting
started.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
That's good. Make sure that you
check the old school and at least
some of the surroundings.

                       TREY
      (Standing)
I'm going to go get some chairs
out of the van.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
Yeah, I'll go help.

Trey and Derek get some chairs from the van.

EXT. FOREST - DAY

Mark and Tina are walking through the forest.

                       TINA
      (Walking)
It's so beautiful through here.

Mark looks at Tina.

                       MARK
      (Walking)
Isn't it peaceful?

10.

                       TINA
      (Walking)
Yeah, it is.

They continue to walk on further through the forest.

                       MARK
      (Walking)
Would you walk through here after
dark?

                       TINA
      (Walking)
No, definitly not.

                       MARK
      (Walking)
Scared?

                       TINA
      (Walking)
Not if I had someone there to
protect me.

                       MARK
      (Walking)
You mean like a boyfriend or
something.

                       TINA
      (Walking)
No, more like a dog.

                       MARK
      (Walking)
Oh. Do you have a boyfiend?

Before Tina can answer, Derek interupts.

                       DEREK
Hey, you guys, come look at this.

Tina and Mark smile at each other and start walking back
towards the cabin.

                       TINA
      (Walking)
I actually just wanted to find a
good career and focus on that. So,
no, I don't have a boyfriend.

Mark smiles at her.

11.

EXT. CABIN - DAY

Everyone is huddled over the opened box.

                       TREY
      (Standing)
I wonder what was in it?

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
I bet it was an animal or
something.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
It wasn't an animal it would've
suffocated.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
What the hell does an open box
have to do with research?

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Absolutely nothing.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
It's just a box.

Everyone walks away from the box as if it's no big deal.

Mark and Tina walk out of the forest.

                       MARK
      (Walking)
What's going on?

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
We found a wooden box.

                       TINA
      (Walking)
What was in it?

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
We don't know, it was all busted
up.

Everyone else is sitting down in chairs.

12.

                       TREY
      (Sitting)
We need to think of different
things to do.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
What do you mean?

                       TREY
      (Sitting)
Like different ways to research.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
We can look for fossils.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
We could look for old carvings of
related names.

Mark and Tina walk over to the group.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Sitting)
That's a good idea.

                       TINA
      (Standing)
You could do research at the
library on evidence that was
found.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
You could search the internet.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Sitting)
Never believe anything you see on
the internet. People put things on
there for stupid purposes.

While everyone is gathered around talking something still
looks on. A noise is heard.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting, Alarmed)
Did you hear that?

13.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
I didn't hear anything.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
I didn't either. Maybe you're
hearing things.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
I thought I heard something in the
woods.

                       TREY
      (Sitting)
Maybe it was the boogeyman.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
You're such an ass.

Miss Brooks stands up.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Well, guys I'm going home.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
Yeah, I'm sure everyone is going
to head out too.

Everyone, but Trey agrees.

                       TREY
      (Sitting)
I'll probably be here early
tomorrow.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
Alone?

                       TREY
      (Sitting)
Yeah.

                       TINA
      (Standing)
You've got guts.

14.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Well, I guess we can head out.

                       TREY
      (Sitting)
Let's go.

Everyone get s in the van and leaves. A pocket watch falls
out of Trey's pocket.

INT. VAN - NIGHT

Trey checks his pockets and sees that his watch is missing.

                       TREY
      (Sitting)
Shit.

Trey turns the van around and drives back to find his watch.

Trey arrives to the cabin and gets out of the van. He starts
looking around on the ground for his watch.

                       TREY
      (Walking)
Where are you, you piece of crap?

He looks and looks until he finds it. He bends down and
picks it up.

                       TREY
      (Bending down)
There you are.

He picks it up and opens it to see if it still works. He
puts it back into his pocket.

                       TREY
      (Standing)
I hate valued things.

Just then he hears a noise and turns around. There's no one
there.

                       TREY
      (Standing)
Hello?

He gets no answer. Then something walks past, behind him. He
doesn't turn around and he starts walking towards the van.
He doesn't see anything. He gets in the van and starts

15.

driving. Then something runs out of the woods and across the
road past him. Trey immediately stops the van.

                       TREY
      (Opening door)
What the hell?

He gets out of the van and walks around it.

He doesn't find anything.

                       TREY
      (Standing)
What in the world.

He walks to the back of the van and opens the back door. He
moves some things around and tries to close the door, but
some things are sticking out of the van and it won't close.
Trey pushes them back up in the van and closes the door.
Pinocchio is standing behind the door with a metal spike. He
drives the metal spike into Trey's forehead. Trey falls to
the ground.

Pinocchio runs through the forest.

EXT. OLD LOG CABIN - DAY

Ms. Brooks's car drives past the van hid in the woods. She
arrives at the log cabin and gets out. Everyone is waiting
there, standing by an SUV.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Waling towards
       group)
How's everyone?

Everyone tells her that their fine.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Good. As you know, gas prices are
over three dollars a gallon. So,
because of that there's no need to
drive back and forth. Therefore,
you will need to collect all the
data that you can collect today
and you will be done with this
place.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
What do we have to do, exactly?

16.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Take pictures, write things down,
anything that will help you.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
We don't have any cameras.

Tina pulls one out of her purse.

                       TINA
      (Standing,Holding
       camera)
I have one.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Well, I have one as well. So, what
you can do is take some pictures
and divide them up between each
other.

Pinocchio runs to Ms. Brooks's car. A noise is heard.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Did you hear that?

Everyone is looking around, no one sees anything.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
I thought I heard a car door shut.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
Yeah, that's what it sounded like.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
You'll hear just about anything
out here. It's just the
surroundings. Don't feel bad, they
give me the creeps too.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
Where's Trey?

17.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
Knowing Trey, he probably stayed
in bed or something.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
Yeah, he's good at that.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Well, let's get started on this so
we can get out of here.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
Yeah, come on.

The group start taking pictures.

3 HOURS LATER

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Well, you can all say that you do
not have to come out here anymore.
The pictures should help you out
enough. With that said, you can
all go and finish your research as
you see fit.

The group get in the SUV and leave. Ms. Brooks walks to her
car, gets in, and leaves.

INT. MS. BROOKS'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Ms. Brooks enters her house and locks the door. She takes
her shoes off and walks into the living room. She turns the
lamp on and checks her messages on her answer machine.
There's a message from her boss, Tim.

                       MAN IN OFFICE
      (On Machine)
Janet, I found some very old, very
important documents. I think that
you need to come look at them
sometime tomorrow. Give me a call.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Always work.

18.

She picks the phone up and dials the number to the office. A
few seconds later she hears the machine. She leaves a
message.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Hey Tim, it's Janet. I just now
got your message. Call me back.

She hangs the phone up and gets some bath water ready. She
walks in the bedroom and a few minutes later she comes out
with a robe on. She walks in the bathroom, turns the water
off and starts to take the bathrobe off, but the lights go
out. She walks back into the bedroom and picks the telephone
up and calls a friend from down the road.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Hello, It's Janet. Is you electric
out?

She walks past her window and Pinocchio can be seen watching
her through the window.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Walking)
It's not? Alright, thanks.

She hangs the phone up and walks past the window again, but
Pinocchio is gone. She hangs the phone up and then,
Pinocchio comes from under the bed, grabs her feet, trips
her and pulls her under the bed.

INT. TINA'S HOUSE - DAY

Tina's sitting watching some television. She hears a knock
at the door.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Come in.

Valerie walks in and enters the living room.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Hey.

19.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
You know you really don't have to
knock everytime you come over.

Valerie sits down on the couch beside Tina.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Good morning to you too.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
So what are you up to?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Nothing really, I was just about
to stop at Ms. Brooks' house.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Really? What for?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Oh, I just had to drop some papers
off.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Anything important?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
No, not really. Did you want to go
with me?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
No, I'm good. I think I'll stay
here.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
And do what?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Lay around and be lazy. It's just
for today anyway.

Valerie stands up.

20.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Ok, I guess I'll go on over and
then, maybe I'll stop by later.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
That's fine. I'm just going to lay
back down for a little while
anyway.

Valering walks to the door.

                       VALERIE
      (Walking to door)
Bye.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Bye, Val.

Valerie closes the door and leaves. Tina lays down.

EXT. MS. BROOKS HOUSE - OUTSIDE - DAY

Valerie arrives at Ms. Brooks house, walks to the door and
knocks on the door.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Ms. Brooks?

No answer.

Valerie knocks again.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Ms. Brooks?

Still no answer.

She opens the door and walks in.

INT. MS. BROOKS' HOUSE - DAY

                       VALERIE
      (Walking)
Ms. Brooks, are you here?

21.

Still no answer.

She slowly walks up the steps and into the bedroom.

                       VALERIE
      (Walking)
Hello?

Again, no answer.

She walks around the bed and finds Ms. Brooks laying on the
floor by the bed. She quickly drops down by Ms. Brooks.

                       VALERIE
      (On the floor)
Oh my God, Ms. Brooks.

She checks Ms. Brooks' pulse and finds that she is dead.
Valerie screams.

EXT. CEMETARY - ONE WEEK LATER - DAY

Everyone is standing around the grave.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
I can't believe she's gone. So
quickly.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
She was such a good person.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
The coroner said she hemorraged to
death.

                       TINA
      (Standing)
That's really odd.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
Did she have any health problems?

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
We really didn't know her all that
well. So, we really don't know
anything.

22.

As the group stand together talking at the grave. Pinocchio
watches on from behind some trees.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
Well, my research is done.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
Yeah, there's nothing to find.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Maybe you're right, but I'm not a
quitter. I don't give up that
easy.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
Well, I'm going home. I think I've
had enough for today.

The group leave and Pinocchio watches on.

INT. GARAGE - NIGHT

Derek and Mark are working on a car.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
Man, things are pretty messed up
around here.

Derek keeps working under the hood of the car.

                       DEREK
      (Working under the
       hood)
What do you mean?

                       MARK
      (Standing)
The garage is a mess.

                       DEREK
      (Still working)
Well it's a garage, it's supposed
to be messy.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
Yeah, I guess so.

23.

Mark bends down under the hood.

                       MARK
      (Under the hood)
You heard from Trey?

                       DEREK
      (Still working)
Um, no, not lately. I think he
went on vacation or something.

                       MARK
      (Under the hood)
Without telling anyone? That
doesn't make any sense.

Pinocchio runs out of the woods, upto the garage, and
watches around the corner.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
Well, I can't explain it.

Derek looks at Mark.

                       DEREK
      (Standing)
Start it up.

Mark gets in the car and starts it up.

                       MARK
      (Sitting in the
       car.)
Sounds like a dream.

He turns the car off and gets out.

                       MARK
      (Standing)
Man, I've gotta piss.

Mark walks around to the back of the garage. Pinocchio grabs
a screwdriver from the toolbox. Derek lets the hood down,
drops a socket and it rolls under the car. He gets down,
reaches under the car and grabs the socket. He stands up and
puts the socket back in the tool box. He gets in the car
starts it up. He yells for Mark.

                       DEREK
      (Sitting in the
       car)
Mark, come on man.

24.

Mark is still urinating.

Just then, Pinocchio jumps up from the back seat and stabs
Derek in the neck with the screwdriver. Mark finishes
urinating and walks back into the garage. He walks over to
the car and finds the door is open and there is a blood
trail leading around to Derek's lifeless body laying on the
floor of the garage with the screwdriver in his neck. Mark's
eyes widen and he turns to run, but as he turns around
Pinocchio hits him with a hammer. Mark falls and Pinocchio
sits on top of him. Pinocchio reaches over and grabs a
handful of nails and starts hammering them into Mark's face
like a carpenter. Mark is kicking and screaming, Pinocchio
then, grabs a cordless drill and screws a few screws into
Mark's face. Mark is dead. Pinocchio then grabs a dead
Jiminy cricket from his little pouch and puts him upto his
ear.

INT. LIBRARY - NEXT DAY - DAY

Melanie and Layla are sitting and reading some books. Tina
and Valerie arrive.

                       TINA
      (Walking to the
       table)
Hey, what's up?

Tina and Valerie sit at the table.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
We're trying to see where the
Pinocchio story originated.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Melanie, I thought that we all
agreed that we weren't going to do
the project anymore.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
We're not doing the project
anymore.

Valerie and Tina look confused.

                       TINA
      (Sitting, confused)
What?

25.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting,
       confused.)
Yeah, you lost me.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
Well, we aren't doing the project.
We're just reading for our own
personal curiosity.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
You're curious about what? A sad,
lonely man who probably had a
heart attack.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Tina's right, there's really no
proof that a puppet or creature of
that nature even existed.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
Yeah, there may not be proof, but
that's why you have to find out
the background information.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
What background information?

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
The history.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Any luck?

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
No, nothing so far.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
How long have you been here?

26.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
Probably about an hour. Which
isn't really much time to find
anything through all these books.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Did you check the computers?

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
We checked, but there are alot of
books on Pinocchio.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
But nothing on the history.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Haven't you guys ever thought that
maybe there's a possibility that
maybe it could have been true?

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
What do you mean?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
The disappearance of Trey, Ms.
Brooks' death. It all adds up.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
To what?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
To something. It just doesn't feel
right.

Tina, Melanie, and Layla all look confused.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
How does that have anything to do
with Pinocchio?

27.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Nothing started happening until
after we went to the cabin.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
I don't see how that has anything
to do with it.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
I don't know exactly, but it might
have something to do with that old
crate that we found busted open.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
It just seems too irrational.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Irrational? Do you have a rational
explaination? Because I don't.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
I know someone who might be able
to explain things.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
Who?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
A friend of my grandparents. His
name is Albert Faun.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
How old is this guy?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
I'm not sure, he's really old
though.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Where can we find him?

28.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
I think he's a caretaker at the
cemetery.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
Well, it's worth a shot.

EXT. CEMETERY - NIGHT

The 4 girls arrive at the cemetery and park the car. They
walk through the cemetery staying close to each other.

                       VALERIE
      (Walking, slowly)
What the hell is this guy doing
here at night?

                       TINA
      (Walking, slowly)
Working.

                       MELANIE
      (Walking, slowly)
I gotta pee.

Layla grits her teeth.

                       LAYLA
      (Walking slowly,
       gritting her
       teeth)
Hold it until we leave.

The group keep walking slowly suddenly they here a cracking
sound. They stop.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing,
       whispering)
What the hell was that.

                       TINA
      (Standing,
       whispering)
I don't know.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing,
       whispering)
Just keep walking.

29.

The girls start walking further into the cemetery. Something
is watching them. Getting closer and closer to them.

                       TINA
      (Walking, slowly)
He should be around here
somewhere.

                       MELANIE
      (Walking, slowly)
Well, he's not, so lets just go.

                       VALERIE
      (Walking, slowly)
We can't we need our information.

                       LAYLA
      (Walking, slowly)
We can come back tomorrow.

                       TINA
      (Walking, slowly)
He'll be here tomorrow.

They all stop.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Alright, we'll just come back
tomorrow.

They start to leave, but then they hear a voice behind them.

                       MR. FAUN (OC)
      (Standing)
What are you doing here?

The girls turn around, startled. It's Albert Faun, the old
man.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Mr. Faun?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
Yes?

                       VALERIE
      (Satnding)
Mr. Albert Faun?

30.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
Yes, who are you?

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
We were looking for some
information.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
What kind of information?

                       TINA
      (Satanding)
About Pinocchio.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
Who?

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
The legend of Geppetto Velero.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
Let's talk inside.

Mr. Faun and the 4 girls start walking into the sanctuary.

INT. SANCTUARY - NIGHT

Mr. Faun and the four girls enter the sanctuary and sit
down. Mr. Faun begins to tell the girls of his knowledge of
the legend.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
I grew up in Italy and as a child,
I heard stories of Pinocchio.
Childhood stories nothing
gruesome. As I got older I became
more and more fascinated.
I often thought maybe there were
more than just stories. As I did
more and more research I
discovered that he had family
still living near by. I went to
meet the only family member left,
since they all had died from
elderly age. I met his brother

                       MR. FAUN (cont'd)
Mario Velero.

Layla interupts Mr. Faun.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
I thought Geppetto was a lonely
old man.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Geppetto created Pinocchio as a
wooden puppet to entertain the
children. He couldn't have
children of his own, which is why
he never married.

Melanie cuts in.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
What was it that Mario said.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Mario was pushing one hundred
years in age. He was fairly good
in health. He said that the
stories of Pinocchio were real.
Jiminy Cricket and everything
about it was real. The Blue Fairy
had brought Pinocchio to life and
all the children had adored him.
But one night, when Geppetto was
bringing wood from outside to warm
up the cabin, he had accidentaly
stepped on Jiminy and killed him.

Everyone looks at each other. Mr. Faun continues.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Pinocchio may have had a lot of
children to play with, but Jiminy
was his only true friend. When the
Blue Fairy had brought Pinocchio
alive, she appointed Jiminy to be
his conscience. He was to look
after Pinocchio and keep Pinocchio
from getting into trouble. Jiminy
was like a part of Pinocchio. When
Geppetto had squashed Jiminy, It
was like a part of Pinocchio had

died. There was no one to guide
Pinocchio on the right path.
Therefore, Pinocchio lost control
of himself and reacted in a
negative way. He murdered his own
father. The Blue Fairy, arriving
too late to stop the horrific
massacre, cursed Pinocchio and
twisted his appearance to fit what
he had done.

Tina interupts Mr. Faun.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Which was an ugly and horrifying
thing.

Mr. Faun agrees.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Exactly, my dear, exactly.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Sir, is there any possible way of
setting him free?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Yes, the Blue Fairy said that
anyone or anything that would set
him free would be cursed and would
suffer the consequences.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
Which means?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Well, my dear, if anyone was to
release him then we all would be
in grave danger.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
Motive?

33.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Revenge would be my guess.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
For Jiminy?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Hard to say to exactly what it
would be for. It could be for
Jiminy, for his appearance, for
being locked in confinement, or
maybe even all reasons.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
Who would he talk to? I bet he was
lonely.

Tina rolls her eyes.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Nice one, genius.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Poor soul, he probably spent a
century talking to that dead
cricket. I guess no one really
knows.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Well, thank you for your time Mr.
Faun, we really need to be going.

The four girls stand up and Mr. Faun walks them to the door.
Valerie forgets something.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Oh, wait, Mr. Faun?

She turns to ask him something, but he's gone. Valerie looks
confused and follows her friends out the door.

34.

EXT. TINA'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Valerie pulls up in front of Tina's house. She turns the car
off and the two girls start talking.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Do you believe the stuff he was
saying?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
No, why would I?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Why wouldn't you?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Because he's old and he's talking
about a puppet and a fairy. Do you
think I'm going to believe
anything he said?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
But he made it sound so real.

Tina looks confused.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
And?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
You was buying into it, just like
the rest of us.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
I was just making him feel good.
If I had told him he was a liar,
it would've hurt his feelings.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Ok, you're the one who told us
about him. Now, you're calling him
a liar?

Tina looks like she made a mistake.

35.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
What?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Well, I don't really know him. My
grandparents don't even live
around here.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
What? Then, how did you know about
Albert Faun?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
I just thought of an old guys name
and a mythical creature, and put
the two together.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Then, how do you explain all that?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Crazy coincidence?

Valerie just shakes her head.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
You're crazy.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Thanks, but I need to be going.
Melanie and Layla are probably in
bed already.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Yeah, they looked pretty tired
when we dropped them off at
Layla's house.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
That's where I need to be going.

Tina gets out of the car and shuts the door.

36.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Bye, Tina.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Bye, Val.

Valerie drives off and Tina walks into her house.

INT. TINA'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Tina walks in and shuts the door. All the lights are out.
She switches the light switch on and off, but nothing
happens.

                       TINA
      (Standing)
Shit!

She hears a noise coming from the kitchen. She walks on
through the house.

                       TINA
      (Walking, SLowly)
Hello?

No answer.

She walks on through the house and into the kitchen. She
sees the back door is opened.

                       TINA
      (Walking, slowly)
Is anyone out there?

Again, no answer.

She hears the sound of glass breaking. She walks out the
back door and Pinocchio is waiting with broken glass laying
on a flat, straight piece of wood. She turns and sees
Pinocchio and screams. With the wood balancing on a large
can, Pinocchio slams his foot on one end of the board
causing the other end to rise with force and send the glass
hurling through the air and into Tina's face. Tina falls to
the ground, screaming in pain. With a face full of glass,
she crawls into the kitchen. Pinocchio follows closely
behind. She quickly pushes the door closed and locks it. She
runs upstairs. Back outside, Pinocchio looks for another way
in. Then, he looks at the gutter. Tina runs into the bedroom
and locks the door behind her. She sits down by the door and

37.

tries to get enough strenghth to crawl out the window, but
she knows she has to stop the bleeding to her face.

                       TINA
      (Crying)
He's not real. He can't be real.

She hears a noise. It sounds like it's coming towards the
door.
She moves away from the door and over by the closet. Just
then, everything gets silent. She can only hear herself
breathing. Then, all of a sudden, Pinocchio opens the closet
door and pulls her in. She fights the creature to get free.
As she fights him off, she runs into the next room and hides
under the bed. As she hides from him, she sees him walk into
the bedroom. She closes her eyes and takes a few deep
breaths. As she opens her eyes, she sees that he's not in
the room anymore. She slowly starts to crawl from under the
bed, but when she turns to look up, Pinocchio's sitting on
the bed looking down at her. He quickly slices her throat
with a coat hanger.

INT. VALERIE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Valerie walks in the door and into a dark house. She turns
the hall light on and walks to the kitchen. She then hears a
noise coming from the basement. She opens the basement door
and starts to walk down, but a hand grabs her shoulder. She
turns and it's her mother.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Mom, you scared me. What are you
doing here?

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Standing)
I'm sorry, honey, but i brought
you some of those little
microwaveable pizzas you like. I
really didn't mean to scare you,
dear.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
It's alright. I just had a weird
night and I'm just a little jumpy.

Valerie and her mom walk over and sit at the table.

38.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Pulling a chair
       out and sitting
       down)
What do you mean weird?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
I'm fine It's just that we went to
the cemetery to get a little bit
of information about our project.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
I thought you quit the project.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Well, we did, but I feel that we
need to continue.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
Well, If you feel that you need
too, then that's what you need to
do.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
It is.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
Hey, did I ever tell you about
your family history?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
No, why?

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
I just thought it was something
interesting. It might take your
mind off things.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Well, your great grandparents were
very good people.

39.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
And?

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
And, I thought that you would like
to know of your italian heritage.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
What italian heritage?

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
I should've told you about it, but
I never really knew a good time.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
I guess any time is good.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
True.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
I should've took the time to
listen.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
You are the last of the bloodline.
Well, unless you have children.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Who's bloodline?

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
The Valero bloodline.

Valerie is stunned.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
What? I'm related to the Valeros?

40.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
Well, yeah. You have a little
Valero blood in you.

Valerie is lost for words.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
I know, honey, I was a little
surprised to hear it myself. The
Valeros have a pretty famous
history.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Yeah, if your psycho. I mean come
on, mother.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
Valerie, what's going on?

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Mom, do you not know about the
story of Geppetto?

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
That story was made up over the
years to scare children. Folklore,
honey, that's all.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
No, there's something going on.
Explain the disappearances.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
The disappearances are do to
teenage rebellion. They just
simply ran away. I mean, come on,
a wooden creature?

INT. LAYLA'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Layla and Melanie are talking in the living room.

41.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting on the
       couch)
It's true.

Melanie looks at Layla as if she doesn't believe her.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting on the
       couch)
Yeah, right.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
There was this other thing that
happened.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
Like what?

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
Well, my grandfather experienced
this one.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
Oh, ok.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
Anyway, he was walking home one
night and decided to take the
railroad tracks. As he was
walking, a cow ran across the
tracks, jumped the fence and
disappeared. The next day, my
grandfather told the farmer that
one of his cows had gotten out the
other night. The farmer just
looked at him and said "I don't
have any cows".

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
That was so stupid.

The girls start laughing. Then, the lights go out. Melanie
and Layla look around.

42.

                       MELANIE
      (Sitting)
What the hell, Layla? First,
disappearing cows now this.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
I didn't do it. Wait, I got the
flashlight right here.

Layla reaches and grabs the flashlight. She turns it on and
grabs another one.

                       LAYLA
      (Sitting)
Here, Mel.

She hands Melanie the other flashlight. Melanie turns it on.
The girls stand up.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
What am I supposed to do?

Layla walks through the dark and finds the phone. She picks
it up. There's no tone.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
It's dead.

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
No.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
Go, upstairs and grab the cell
phones. I'll go outside and try to
get the generator started.

They go to complete their tasks.

INT. VALERIE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Valerie and her mom are still talking.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing by the
       counter)
It makes no sense, but it's true.

43.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting at the
       table)
You shouldn't deny your family
history because of a story,
Valerie.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Mom, the Valero family is cursed.

Valerie's mom shakes her head.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
Why are you being difficult?

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
I'm not, I just want things to
come out.

Valerie's mom looks confused.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
It's hard to explain. Only one
person would know the truth.

                       VALERIE'S MOM
      (Sitting)
Well, as long as your ok, then
I'll get out of your hair and let
you do what you gotta do.

Valerie and her mother hug.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing, hugging
       her mom)
Thanks mom.

Her mom leaves and Valerie tries to call Layla's house, but
she can't get through. She hangs the phone up and quickly
exits her house.

INT. LAYLA'S UPSTAIRS BEDROOM - NIGHT

Melanie tries to find the cell phones. She finds her cell
phone, but she can't find Layla's cell phone. She calls
Layla's cell phone to find it. The phone is ringing. She
listens to it ring. It sounds like it's under the bed. She

44.

gets down on the floor and looks under the bed. She finds
it.

                       MELANIE
      (Laying on floor.)
There you are.

She sets up on her knees. Pinocchio can be seen behind her.
Melanie turns and screams, but Pinocchio quickly grabs her
head and breaks her neck.

EXT. LAYLA'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Layla runs to the front door, but it's locked. She bangs on
the door.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing at the
       door. Yelling)
MELANIE, UNLOCK THE DOOR! lET ME
IN!

Melanie doesn't answer. Layla quickly runs to the back door
she gets in, but Pinocchio is standing there. She screams
and runs to the side of the house and hides in the small
building next to the house. She runs in and shuts the door.
She hides and peeks to see if Pinocchio is leaving. She
doesn't see him. Layla sighs with relief. She looks to her
side and Pinocchio is face to face with her. She screams.

EXT. LAYLA'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Valerie pulls up, gets out of the car and run to the house.
The front door is unlocked and the lights are on. She walks
in the house.

                       VALERIE
      (Walking)
Hello?

No answer.

                       VALERIE
      (Walking)
Melanie? Layla? Are you here?

Valerie walks in the kitchen and sees all her friends are
sitting at the table. The light is off.

45.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Oh, there you guys are. Why didn't
you guys answer?

Nobody answers.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Hello? Why's the light out?

Still no reply.

Valerie flips up the light switch and turns the kitchen
light on. She screams. Mark, Tina, Derek, Trey, Layla, and
Melanie are sitting at the table. Their all dead. She looks
up and Pinocchio is sitting at the table, not moving. As if
he were nothing more than a wooden puppet. His head slightly
tilt. Valerie causiously walks up to him, shaken and scared.
She touches him, but he doesn't move. She touches him again,
but he still does not move. Valerie sighs with relief. Then
Pinocchio looks up and stares at her. She screams again.

                       VALERIE
      (Edgeing back
       towards the door)
What are you?

The creature doesn't reply. He only looks at her and then,
he gets up and starts walking towards her. She runs outside
and to her car. She gets in, starts the car, and drives off.
Pinocchio just stands in the doorway and puts his hand upto
his ear as though he was listening to his dead friend
Jiminy.

EXT. CEMETERY - NIGHT

Valerie drives into the cemetery and gets out of the car.
She runs upto the sanctuary and starts banging on the door.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing, Banging
       on the door and
       Yelling)
MR. FAUN! OPEN UP!

She runs around the sanctuary. As she gets around the
corner, she runs into Mr. Faun.

46.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
I thought I heard someone. Are you
ok?

Valerie's breathing hard.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Mr. Faun, What do you know about
the legend of Pinocchio?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
My dear, It's just a legend.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Mr. Faun, please, my friend's are
dead.

Mr. Faun looks at her with sympathy.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Standing)
Very well, come inside. Quickly.

They walk back around to the front of the sanctuary.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Walking)
You are safe in here. This is a
place of worship, a place of
holyness. He cannot enter into a
place that which is sacred.

INT. SANCTUARY - NIGHT

Valerie and Mr. Faun are sitting down talking.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Long ago, Pinocchio was built by a
carpenter named Geppetto. He
wanted children, but couldn't have
them. So, he figured he would
build him a son from wood. In
italian, Pinocchio means wooden
boy. He thought that it was the
perfect name for his son.
One night, Geppetto wished upon a
star that Pinocchio was real. So
the Blue Fairy decided to come

                       MR. FAUN (cont'd)
down and grant Geppetto's wish.
She decided to give Pinocchio a
conscience. One that could not be
seen so easily. So she gave him a
talking cricket.

Valerie cuts in.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Jiminy.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Correct.

Mr. Faun continues.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Jiminy would always direct
Pinocchio in the right direction.
You see, Jiminy was a part of
Pinocchio. His conscience, his
right from wrong, his one and only
best friend. One night, Geppetto
was working late. He didn't see
where he was walking. He stepped
on Jiminy and killed him. It was
merely an accident. However,
Pinocchio didn't know any better.
Since he had no one to tell him it
was wrong, he murdered his father.
He had lost his only friend. The
Blue Fairy cursed Pinocchio into
confinement and altered his
appearance.

Valerie interupts again.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
He wasn't made that way?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
No. Since he committed an ugly,
horrific act that he would become
ugly and horrifying himself. If he
was to ever be released from his
eternal prison. The ones that
released him would be cursed and
damned as well. However, if he was

to have killed his releasers.
Then, anyone and everyone that he
came in contact with or was near.
Well, they would suffer the same
fate. Much like you and your
friends.

Valerie looks at Mr. Faun with determination.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
Mr. Faun, How do I stop him?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
My dear, I'm afraid that the only
way to stop him is the blood of a
Valero. I don't believe that there
are anymore Valeros left.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
My family has Valero blood. I am
the last of the Valero bloodline.
Unless I have children of my own.

Mr. Faun looks saddened.

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
My dear, that would mean that you
would have to give your life to
destroy him.

                       VALERIE
      (Sitting)
You said that Valero blood was the
only thing to stop him. Am I
right?

                       MR. FAUN
      (Sitting)
Yes, but...

Valerie gets up.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Thanks Mr. Faun. I know what I
have to do.

49.

INT. VALERIE'S HOUSE. - NIGHT

Valerie is waiting for Pinocchio. She sees Pinocchio, from
the living room window, walking outside looking around. She
waits in the dark.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Come on, you sick freak.

She looks down and reaches for a baseball bat that's laying
on the floor in front of her. She looks up and Pinocchio is
stareing face to face with her through the window. She grabs
the baseball bat and looks up to see that he is gone. She
hears a noise and turns to see what it is. Just then,
Pinocchio breaks through the window and pulls her through.
She screams and struggles. As she lays on the ground
struggling with the creature. She notices, from the corner
of her eye, a large wooden crate with a latch on it. She
kicks him off and runs around the house. She runs into the
shed next to the house and digs through a box. She finds an
open pad lock and quickly puts it in her pocket. She looks
down and spots something.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
Bingo!

Pinocchio walks to the shed and as he opens the door,
Valerie comes from behind him and knocks him on the head
with a big metal pipe. She quickly drags him to the crate
and puts him in. She grabs the pad lock from her pocket,
puts it through the latch. As she goes to lock it, Pinocchio
tries to get out. Valerie snaps down the pad lock, locking
it. She breathes with relief. She then, drags the crate to
the car and puts it in the trunk. She gets in the car and
drives off.

EXT. OLD LOG CABIN - NIGHT

Valerie drives up to the old cabin where Pinocchio was
originally found. She opens the trunk of the car and pulls
the crate out. It begins to rain. As the rain starts pouring
from the sky, she grabs a shovel that's leaning against the
cabin. She starts digging.

A FEW HOURS LATER...

Valerie is patting the dirt back over the hole. She reaches
into her pocket and pulls out her car keys. She takes the
sharpest key she has and cuts her hand. She squeezes the
blood from her hand and onto the spot where Pinocchio was

buried. She gets back in the car and stares at the shovel
sticking up in the ground.

INT. VALERIE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

Valerie crawls into bed and looks at her alarm clock. The
alarm clock says 6:00 AM. She lays in her bed, the unlit
room is completely dark. Her cell phone rings. The light of
the cell phone lights up the room. She answers.

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
Hello?

No Answer.

She hangs the phone up and turns over to see Pinocchio
laying beside her. She screams.

INT. VALERIE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

Valerie wakes up, realizing it was a dream. She checks her
cell phone. The cell phone lights up the room. Pinocchio is
seen standing at the foot of her bed. She gasps.

INT. VALERIE'S BEDROOM - DAY

Valerie wakes up, realizing it was a dream within a dream.
She lays back down and Tina walks in.

                       TINA
      (Standing)
Come on, Val. We're going to be
late.

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
What?

                       TINA
      (Standing)
Yeah, we're going to be late.

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
Tina? I thought you were...

Tina walks over and sits on the side of the bed.

51.

                       TINA
      (Sitting on side
       of bed)
Thought I was what?

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
Nevermind.

Tina looks at her in concern.

                       TINA
      (Sitting on side
       of bed)
Are you okay?

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
Yeah, I just had a really bad
dream.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
What kind of dream?

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
It was just a stupid dream. It was
nothing, really.

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
Oh, ok. Well, we gotta go. Come
on, get up.

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
Where are we going?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
We have research to do.

                       VALERIE
      (Laying in bed)
Research?

                       TINA
      (Sitting)
For the historical society, duh.

Valerie gets out of bed.

52.

EXT. OLD LOG CABIN - DAY

Everyone is at the cabin. Tina and Valerie get out of the
car and look on.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Hey, sleepy head. We've been
waiting on you all morning.

Everyone is huddled around something. Tina and Valerie start
walking to the huddle.

                       TINA
      (Walking)
What's going on?

                       MELANIE
      (Standing)
The guys found this busted crate
across the stream and we're trying
to figure out what was in it.

Valerie doesn't know what to think. A rush of worry pours on
her face. She hurries to where her friends are huddled.

                       VALERIE
      (Walking, fast
       pace)
What?

As she pushes through her friends she sees the crate laying
on the ground with claw marks on it. She shakes her head.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
No, this isn't happening.

                       LAYLA
      (Standing)
It looks like an animal was in it.

Ms. Brooks looks at Valerie with concern.

                       MS. BROOKS
      (Standing)
Are you okay, Valerie? You don't
look so good.

Valerie just stares at the broken crate in terror. Shaking
her head.

53.

                       VALERIE
      (Standing)
No, NO! (Screaming)

INT. CRYPT - NIGHT

The little girl turns the page to reveal the words THE END.
She closes the book and stands to reveal that she is much
taller than before. She then turns to reveal that she is The
Blue Fairy. She disappears in a bright blue flash of light.

I liked this. Must agree with Stuart about developing the characters...especially Pinocchio. You don't need all the parentheticals, that's true. Make it an easier but lengthened read, and you could very well have a winner on your hands...

From Stuart Date 8/18/2007 ****
This story was a good one, but here are some much needed pointers. Remove the parentheticals, we don't need to know who's standing sitting or every move they make at all times, take them out. Your screenplay clocks in under an hour if this was to be a motion pic it would be to short, spend some more time developing the characters not only that but pinnochio too. you got a good concept, if you shape and craft it and spend a lil more time on it, it might turn out to be a good horror story.
