|
Expensive cars speed down the pristine streets of Fullerton.
Everything seems perfect.
Multi million dollar homes line the streets.
Men kiss their wives goodbye, before hopping into their
luxury cars.
At the end of the street there is a gate, which opens up to
a long winding driveway.
At the end of the driveway sits... |

EXT. THE PETERS' HOUSE - DAY |
|
The house looks like it belongs to a celebrity. It gives the
Playboy Mansion a run for it's money. |
|
|
INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
The room has "princess" written all over it. Everything is
neat and perfect. |
|
|
INT. ALEX'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
The room is messy, loaded with sports equipment. Everything
screams jock. |
|
|
INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM/ALEX'S BEDROOM - DAY |

MONTAGE
A) A flat iron runs through hair
B) Gel spikes up a man's short haircut
C) Eyeliner and Mascara are quickly applied and examined
D) Fingers straighten his eyebrows

INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
ABBY PETERS, 18, steps back away from her full length
mirror. Smiling. |
|
|
|
She was the girl getting ready, and is she ready. Perfect in
every sense of the word. |
|
|
INT. ALEX'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
ALEX PETERS, 18, Abby's twin brother steps back from his
full length mirror, which has clothes hanging from it,
smiling. |
|
|
|
He was the guy getting ready, and like his room hinted he is
a jock in every way. He is as handsome as his sister is
pretty. |
|
|
INT. HALLWAY - DAY |
|
Alex and Abby walk out of their rooms at the same time.
Without speaking a word, they walk past one another to the
landing where they walk down the opposite staircases which
branch off from the landing. |
|
|
INT. FOYER - DAY |
|
Alex and Abby reach the bottom of the stairs at the same
time, they walk towards the door.
They both open one of the two doors, stepping outside. They
slam the doors behind them.
|

|
JUDGE GEORGE PETERS, 56, walks into the room. ALICE PETER,
52, following close behind. |
|
|
|
|
GEORGE
I swear Alice, those kid need some
adjusting. |
|
|
|
|
|
GEORGE
One day I going to go to work and
find them there. |
|
|
|
ALICE
It might be better that way. |
|
|
|
GEORGE
They do need a good punishment. |
|
|
|
EXT. THE PETER'S DRIVEWAY - DAY |
|
Abby backs her car up, getting ready to leave, when her
brother cuts her off. |
|
|
|
|
ALEX
You're the one who almost hit me! |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
ABBY
Everyone knows you drive like a
blind cripple. |
|
|
|
ALEX
Wow, almost as bad as you Helen
Keller. |
|
|
|
|

|
|
ALEX
I was on my way there before you
almost killed me. |
|
|
|
ABBY
Cause that would be a loss. |
|
|
|
|
Alex speeds off. Abby follows in suit. |
|
|
EXT. FULLERTON HIGH SCHOOL - DAY |
|
Teenagers fill the courtyard of the school. They talk in
little groups, little clicks.
Abby and Alex walk from the parking lot to the courtyard,
all eyes on them.
The walk to their separate groups of friends, at opposite
ends of the courtyard.
Everything returns to normal, the "king and queen's"
procession has ended. |

|
ABBY
God I can't stand him. |
|
|
One of Abby's friends CARA, 18, turns to her. |
|
|
|
|
|
Alex now stands in front of his friends. |
|
|
|
|
ABBY (V.O.)
--an asshole! |
|
|
Abby's friends stare at her. |
|
|
RAY (V.O.)
At least she's hot. |
|
|
Alex stares at RAY, 18. All muscle, no brain. |
|

|
|
|
ALEX
She's my sister you dick. |
|
|
The bell rings. Alex rolls his eyes. Abby rolls her eyes. |
|
|
ALEX AND ABBY
Here we go again. |
|
|
They all walk inside the building. |
|
|
INT. CLASSROOM - DAY |
|
MR. RINK, an old, practically blind teacher, writes on the
blackboard.
The whole class stars off into space. ALEX talks with his
friend KENNY, 18, in the back of the room. |
|
|
ALEX
I hate this fucking class. |
|
|
|
|
Mr. Rink turns around facing the class. |
|
|
MR. RINK
So who knows what caused the war
of eighteen twelve? |
|
|
No one raises their hand. |
|
|
MR. RINK
Okay...Mr. Peters do you know? |
|
|
Alex turns towards Mr. Rink. |
|
|
|
|
MR. RINK
Well, haven't you done your
homework? |
|
|
Alex thinks for a second. |
|
|
|

|
|
MR. RINK
Well Mr. Peters I think that
deserves a detention. |
|
|
|
ALEX
Whatever...look around no one did
the homework, they're barely
conscious. |
|
|
The class laughs. |
|
|
MR. RINK
Enough, Mr. Peters. That's two
days. |
|
|
Alex turns to Kenny. |
|
|
ALEX
(whispering)
Of detention I won't be doing. |
|
|
|
MR. RINK
Now I will tell you what caused
the war. |
|
|
|
ALEX
Yeah because you were an
eyewitness, right? |
|
|
|
|
The bell rings. The whole class shuffles out. |
|
|
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - DAY |
|
Students fill the hallway. Alex and Kenny walk down the
hallway. |
|
|
|
|
ALEX
What was he going to do? Hit me? |
|
|
|
|
|
ALEX
He'd probably break a hip in the
process. |
|
|

|
|
|
|
They pass by Abby, Cara, and STACY. Abby and her friends
walk into a classroom. |
|
|
INT. CLASSROOM - DAY |
|
Abby, Cara, and Stacy sit down in the back of the classroom. |
|
|
ABBY
One down, seven to go. |
|
|
|
STACY
Six, lunch doesn't count. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
MRS. ROW walks into the classroom, pointing to the
blackboard. The black board says: E=MC2 |
|
|
MRS. ROW
Good morning class. |
|
|
No response. |
|
|
MRS. ROW
Okay... Does the formula on the
board look familiar? |
|
|
A couple of students nod. |
|
|
MRS. ROW
Well, E stands for energy, but
does anyone know what the M and
the C stand for? |
|
|
No one raises their hand. Cara suddenly smiles. She raises
her hand confidently. |
|
|
CARA
I know this, I actually know this
one. |
|
|
Stacy shakes her head. |
|

|
|
|
|
|
CARA
MC stands for Magna Carta. |
|
|
Stacy covers her face in embarrassment. Cara smiles
confidently. |
|
Abby turns to Cara. |
|
|
ABBY
Are you fucking serious? |
|
|
Cara's smile fades. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Mrs. Row chuckles. |
|
|
MRS. ROW
No Cara, not quite. |
|
|
|
ABBY
This is science, not history. Even
I know that. |
|
|
|
CARA
What? At least I tried. |
|
|
Abby puts her hands up. |
|
|
ABBY
I'm done! Cara, I'm done. |
|
|
She puts her hands down. |
|
|
MRS. ROW
Well does any one else know? |
|
|
No one attempts. |
|
|

EXT. FULLERTON HIGH SCHOOL - DAY |
|
|
ABBY
(whispering)
Who gives a fuck? |
|
|
|
MRS. ROW
They stand for Mass and Celeritas. |
|
|
|
ABBY
(whispering)
Who gives a fuck? |
|
|

EXT. FULLERTON HIGH SCHOOL - DAY |
|
Students sit at outside benches eating lunch. Abby sits with
her friends. |
|
|
STACY
I can't wait to get out of this
hell hole. |
|
|
|
CARA
It's not really like a hole. |
|
|
Everyone just stares. |
|
|
|
|
|
Alex and his friends walk past. |
|
|
STACY
God, your brother is-- |
|
|
|
|
|
STACY
I can feel the love. |
|
|
Alex and his friends sit down at an empty table. |
|
|
|
|
KENNY
Me too. And we still have
practice. |
|
|

|
|
|
RAY
Man, your sister is hot. |
|
|
Alex just stares at Ray. |
|
|
ALEX
Yeah, hot shit...and for the last
time shut up about my sister. |
|
|
|
|
CHARLIE, 18, walks over and sits next to Abby. |
|
|
|
He kisses Abby. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
CHARLIE
Do you want go out tonight? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
ABBY
After practice than? |
|
|
|
|
Abby nods. |
|
|
|
|
EXT. FULLERTON HIGH SCHOOL- FOOTBALL FIELD - DAY |
|
The football team practices, while the cheerleaders
practice.

|
Stacy, Abby, and Cara practice with the other cheerleaders.
Alex, the team's quarterback, practices with the other
players.
After a few plays, the coach call the guys to the middle of
the field. |
|
|
COACH
We have a week left. You guys are
playing good, keep it up. We might
actually win it this year...We're
done for today. |
|
|
All of the player walk to the bleachers, where all of their
stuff is sprawled out.
Alex picks up his backpack. His cellphone RINGS.
He answers it. |
|
|
|
|
ALICE (V.O.)
Hey honey. I just got off the
phone with your father, we're all
going out to dinner tonight. Your
father wants us to have a real
family dinner, so cancel all
plans. |
|
|
|
|
|
ALICE (V.O.)
Actually, can you relay the
message to your sister for me. |
|
|
Alex rolls his eyes. |
|
|
ALEX
(annoyed)
No problem mom! I'd love to! |
|
|
|
ALICE (V.O.)
Good, see you later. |
|
|
Alex hangs up the phone, and walks over to his sister. |
|
|
|

|
|
|
ALEX
We're having dinner with mom and
dad tonight. |
|
|
|
ABBY
I can't I have a date. |
|
|
|
ALEX
They don't care, they said that we
had to cancel all planes. |
|
|
|
ABBY
This is fucking great! |
|
|
Alex starts walking away. |
|
|
ALEX
Hey don't shoot the messenger. |
|
|
|
|
|
ALEX
(sarcasticlly)
Oh, that hurt. |
|
|
|
EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT |
|
There is a big sign that reads: THE FOUNTAINS
The restaurant is a fancy one. There is a grand fountain
next to the sign. |
|
|
INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT |
|
The restaurant is elegant and bustling. There are people
quietly talking while enjoying the food.
Alice and George sit patiently at their table. George looks
at his watch. |
|
|
|
|
ALICE
Don't worry, they'll be here. |
|
|
Alex and Abby walk over to the table. |
|

|
|
GEORGE
Nice of you to join us. |
|
|
|
|
George looks at Abby. |
|
|
ABBY
I don't have an excuse. Sorry. |
|
|
|
|
Abby picks up her phone and starts text messaging. |
|
|
ALEX
So everyone, how was your day? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
George notices Abby texting. |
|
|
GEORGE
Abby what are you doing? |
|
|
|
|
George puts his hand out. |
|
|
|
Abby hands over her phone. |
|
|
ABBY
Well I wouldn't need to text if I
was on the date I was suppose to
have tonight. |
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
ALICE
You two cut it out. |
|
|
|
GEORGE
Just don't talk to each other. |
|
|
Abby kicks Alex under the table. |
|
|
ALEX
Mom, can please ask Abby to stop. |
|
|
|
ABBY
Mom, can you tell Alex that I've
done nothing to him. |
|
|
|
ALEX
Mom, can you call Abby a bitch. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
They all look at him. |
|
|
GEORGE
I'm here too...just leave, the
both of you. |
|
|
|
|
|
GEORGE
No, just go. We try to have one
civil dinner, and even that's too
much for you too. Just go home. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Alex and Abby walk away. |
|
|
ALICE
Are you ready to order? |
|
|

EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT |
|
Alice and George walk hand in hand out of the restaurant.
They stop in front of the fountain. |
|
|
GEORGE
I just don't know. |
|
|
|
ALICE
We'll figure it out. |
|
|
George nods. |
|
|
|
|
ALICE
(smiling)
Good, you? |
|
|
|
|
Alice spots a penny heads up on the ground by her foot. She
picks it up. |
|
|
|
George looks over at the fountain. |
|
|
|
Alice thinks. |
|
|
ALICE
I wish the kids would learn their
lesson and just be nicer to one
another. |
|
|
She tosses the penny into the fountain. |
|
|
|
They walk towards the valet parking. |
|
|
INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT |
|
Alex and Abby storm up the stairs, walking towards their
bedrooms. |
|

|
ABBY
That was all your fault. |
|
|
|
ALEX
Oh, yeah. All my fault. |
|
|
|
|
|
ALEX
Drop it Abby, that act isn't
fooling anyone anymore. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
They both slam their bedroom doors. |
|
|
INT. ALEX'S BEDROOM - NIGHT |
|
Alex lies down in his bed, closing his eyes. |
|

INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
Abby lies down on her bed, closing her eyes |

INT. THE PETERS' HOUSE - DAY |
|
The sun raises above the trees. Everything is still and
quiet. |

INT. ALEX'S BEDROOM - DAY |

Alex swings his legs over the side of his bed. His eyes half
open, he stumbles towards his mirror. |

INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
Abby drags herself out of bed and stampers off towards the
mirror. |
|
|
INT. ALEX'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
Alex goes to take a step, but trips over some clothes. |
|

|
|
Alex rubs his eyes looking around. |
|
|
|
His mouth drops when he looks in the mirror. |
|
|
INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
Abby rubs her face. She reaches down to scratch her crouch
when she stops. |
|
|
|
She looks in the mirror. Her mouth drops. |
|
|
INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM/ALEX'S BEDROOM - DAY |
|
They both let out screams. Alex's is really famine, while he
fans his face with his hand. Abby's on the other hand is
deep and masculine. |
|
The both march for their doors. |
|
|
INT. HALLWAY - DAY |
|
Alex and Abby walk out of their rooms at the same time.
They stop and look at each other, screaming again. |
|
|
|
|
ABBY
What did you do!? Look at me! My
balls are gone. |
|
|
Alex grabs his chest. |
|
|
|
Alice calls up the stairs. |
|
|
ALICE (O.S.)
Is everything okay up there? |
|
|

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY |
|
Alice sits in a chair, while George sits on the couch. Alice
looks over at George. |
|
|
ALICE
They're fighting again. I guess
that wish didn't work. |
|
|
George shrugs. |
|

INT. HALLWAY - DAY |
|
Alex and Abby just stare at one another. |
|
|
ALEX
We can't go to school like this. |
|
|
|
ABBY
Well, what do we do Abby. |
|
|
Alex shrugs. |
|
|

Alex thinks, his face lights up. |
|
|
ALEX
I know! We can play sick. |
|
|
|
ABBY
(sarcastically)
Wow, you were always the smart
one. What are we, five? |
|
|

Alice walks up the stairs. |
|
|
ALICE
What are you guys doing, you're
going to be late for school. |
|
|

Alex does a few fake COUGHS. |
|
|
|
Alice looks at both of them. |
|
|
ALICE
Nice try. Get ready. |
|
|
She walk past them down the hall, and into her room. Alex
walks into Abby's room. Abby walks into Alex's room. |
|

INT. ABBY'S BEDROOM/ALEX'S BEDROOM - DAY |

MONTAGE
A) Abby runs her hands through her hair
B) Alex spikes his hair
C) Abby straightens her eyebrows
D) Alex applies eyeliner and mascara.
E) Abby checks her teeth, rubbing them.

Alex and Abby walk out into the hallway. They stare each
other down.
Alex is wearing lavender short shorts, and a tight womens
matching blouse.
Abby is wearing a baggy plaid shirt and a pair of mens
shorts. |

She points at Alex's outfit. |
|
|
|
Alex looks down. |
|

ALEX
What?...At least I didn't dress
you in plaid. |
|

ALEX
I look like a lesbian. |

ABBY

ALEX
They're shorts! Men wear shorts! |

ABBY
Not tight purple ones. |

ALEX
It's lavender!...and some men do. |

ABBY
And some women wear plaid. |

Abby steps closer. |

ABBY
Take it off!...Take it all off! |

ALEX
God, you're lucky I didn't reach
for the lipstick and heels. |

Alex storms off to his room.
Abby walks towards her room when Alex calls out. |
|

ALEX
You're changing too! |

EXT. FULLERTON HIGH SCHOOL - DAY |
|
Alex and Abby walk towards the school, they have traded
outfits from earlier. |
|
|
ABBY
I can't believe I'm wearing purple
shorts. |
|
|
|
ALEX
It's lavender...and I can't
believe I wearing his, all of
this. |
|
|
|
ABBY
You made me wear makeup! |
|
|
|
ALEX
And you made me take mine off. |
|
|
Abby rolls her eyes.
They separate as they reach the courtyard. Alex walks over
towards Cara and Stacy. |
|
|
|
Cara and Stacy look confused. |
|
|
|
Stacy just smiles. There is is awkward pause. |
|
|
ALEX
What, is there something on my
face? |
|
|
|
|
Abby walks up to Kenny and Ray. |
|
|
|
|
KENNY
(confused)
Nothing much. You? |
|
|

Ray stares down at Abby's chest. |
|
|
|
Ray looks up. |
|
|
|

Ray shakes his head. |
|

I like this so far. One thing I would say is be aware of the Freaky Friday/BIG ideas you have going on. It is def worth cont with, it has the potential for some very funny moments, a 2008 take on a classic if you will. If you haven't seen it, I would take a look at Freaky Friday, both the original and the remake. |
