EXT. DREAMLIKE PLACE - NIGHT |
CLOSE ON: ARIADNE'S eye, a 33-year-old woman, blinking
several times. |
ARIADNE'S POV: The place that she is in is DARK, STORMY,
many CLIFFS surround her, no vegetation only rocks, and
there are DOORS everywhere. Very surreal place like a Dali's
painting. |
Ariadne is disoriented. She looks everywhere, shakes her
head and walks through the strange place. |
She walks with precaution, some parts are narrow and every
time she puts her foot on the rocky ground, some PEBBLES
fall to the bottom of the cliff. |
ARIADNE
Helloo!! Is anybody here? |
Ariadne stops to catch her breath. She inspects the ground,
but it's petrified like everything that surrounds her. |
Suddenly, Ariadne sees a STRANGER at the distance, she
follows him. The Stranger looks like a man, but his face is
in shadows; he wears a blue striped shirt. |
ARIADNE
Hey! I need help here. |
The Stranger disappears like smoke, Ariadne looks
everywhere. |
Ariadne turns around a rock and she sees the Stranger
standing next to a DOOR. Ariadne approaches cautiously to
the door when it opens by itself. A WHITE LIGHT blinds her.
Few seconds later the light fades away and she finds herself
in -- |
EXT. SCHOOL PLAYGROUND 1984 - DAY |
Ariadne recovers her sight, she stands in the middle of the
playground instead of the strange place. |
2.
Ariadne sees an eight-year-old GIRL on the swing. She gets
close to the girl and notices that she cries. |
ARIADNE
Hey sweetie, why are you crying? |
The little girl doesn't response. Ariadne waves her hand in
front of her, but the girl doesn't react. Ariadne looks at
her hand, it seems normal, she touches the swing and she
doesn't feel anything.
Ariadne looks around, CARS, and other CHILDREN are dressed
in early 80's style. |
ARIADNE
It can't be. This is my old
school. |
Ariadne turns toward the little girl to get a better look at
her. |
ARIADNE
Oh my god! she's me. |
JASON NINE YEARS (O.S.)

Ariadne turns, JASON, a nine-year-old boy, joins the little
girl on the swing. |

JASON NINE YEARS

Jason jumps out of the swing and grabs the girl hand. |
JASON NINE YEARS
Come on let's play I don't like to
see you sad. |
The girl keeps crying and doesn't move. Jason puts his hands
on the ground and lifts his legs up to the air and walks
using his hands. |
3.
JASON NINE YEARS
Hey look! |
The girl watches Jason and smiles. She jumps out of the
swing. |
ARIADNE EIGHT YEARS

me. |
The girl runs away. Jason losses his balance and falls.
Immediately Jason gets up and runs behind the girl. |
JASON NINE YEARS
Hey wait up! |
Ariadne sees both children running away. |
ARIADNE
I don't understand why I'm seeing
this. |
Ariadne lifts her head toward the blue sky. |
ARIADNE
Can anybody tell me what the hell
it's going on? |

TEEN GIRL

bleachers with Ray. |

JASON SEVENTEEN
You don't ever touch her again! |
Adult Ariadne's eyes widen in surprise by what just
happened. Young Ariadne loses her consciences; Jason grabs
her before she falls. |
5.
RAY
Hey! I didn't force her; she
wanted to. |
Jason ignores Ray, he walks away with young Ariadne on his
arms. Ray from the distance teases Jason. |
RAY
(Shouting)
You're pissed because she was with
me instead of you! |

JASON SEVENTEEN
She was tired and she just fell
sleep... it's no problem I'll take
care of her... Good night! |
Jason hangs up of the phone, SIGHS, and sits on a chair
looking at young Ariadne. He takes a GUITAR and starts to
play a soft TUNE. |
Adult Ariadne stands at the doorway looking at Jason. |
ARIADNE
This is what happened that day.
Why you didn't tell me? The last
thing I remember was Ray giving me
a beer. That son of a bitch
drugged me. |

A strange NOISE draws Ariadne's attention. The noise comes
from the bottom of the cliff. Ariadne approaches to the

edge as the SOUND builds up. Ariadne kneels to see what
produces the noise. She only sees darkness, but the noise
turns to MURMURS telling her something she cannot
understand. |
She bents even more to try to understand what the murmurs
say; suddenly a SKELETICAL HAND grabs her hand and pulls her
down. |
ARIADNE
Nooo!! Let me go! |
Ariadne STRUGLES with the hand, but another HAND appears and
grabs Ariadne's arm. The VOICES are now clear. |

Ariadne keeps fighting. |
ARIADNE
Please let me go!! I don't want to
go there. |
The cliff crumbles, more HANDS are trying to grab Ariadne. |
ARIADNE
SOMEBODY HELP ME! |
VOICES
There is nothing for you, remember
you said that. |
ARIADNE
What? No it can't be true. How
you know that? |
VOICES
No one is going to hurt you
anymore, come to us. |
Ariadne stops for a moment. |
ARIADNE
Maybe you're right. People just
hurt me my so called boyfriend, I
lost my job... |
The hands pull Ariadne down, but a SOFT GUITAR TUNE plays. |

ARIADNE
Thanks, I was wondering where were
you? |
Ariadne catches her breath. The Stranger walks away. |
Ariadne stands up and walks behind the Stranger. |
ARIADNE
Come on! I don't remember how I
get here and you are the only...
person I've seen. You have to tell
me something. |
The Stranger stops, Ariadne stops as well, there is a new
door in front of her. |
ARIADNE
You've got to be kidding me.
Another door? |
The Stranger nods. Ariadne crosses her arms and stands
firmly. |
ARIADNE
No, I won't go in there, until you
tell me something. |

This play is very well done. It would make an excellent movie, but needs to be a little more in depth at certain points. Lengthen Kevin's and Jason argument. Have Ariadne throw the vase at the wall instead of dropping it to show a little more of her frustration. Overall excellent script. |
