INT. UNDERNEATH THE SEA, SMALL COTTAGE NEAR PALACE - NIGHT |

NARRATOR
Once upon a time in the deep blue
sea, there lived three best
merfriends; Pearl, the valley
girl, Aqua, the mermaid with an
undying love for Prince Merlin,
and Shimmer, the sweet innocent
good girl. |
|

AQUA
So, it's crush time! Who do both
of you like? |
|
|
|
| |
SHIMMER
You know I don't like anyone! |
|
|
|
| |
PEARL
Girls, you know my only love is
makeup... |
|
|

AQUA
(giggles)
You already know I LOVE MerPrince

(eyes fill with
excitement)

(smiles)

yourself! I'm Prince Merlin, and

(blushes)

PRINCE
(leans in)

PEARL barges in |

PEARL
OMIGOD! What did I just walk in
on! C'mon Aqua, dinner time! Ta,

(gets pulled along
by PEARL)

EXT. OUTSIDE CASTLE - CONTINUOUS |

Shimmer walks in |

|

SHIMMER
(sings,
controlling)

PRINCE
(hypnotized)
I LOVE YOU |

|

SHIMMER
(quietly)
I know. |
|
|

SHIMMER
I love you, Prince. I am Shimmer. |
|
|

AQUA runs in. Stops, mouth wide open |
|
|

AQUA
(upset)
How could you do this to me! I
though you DIDN"T have a crush!! |

SHIMMER
(whispers, to
PRINCE)
Meet me in the corridor at
midnight. |

|

PRINCE, nods to SHIMMER, leaves |

|

AQUA
(Continued)
And there you go, behind my back,
having a secret relationship with
MY crush!? |
|
|

| |
SHIMMER
(real voice comes
out, evil laugh)
Oh, Aqua, did you really think I
was that "goody to shoes, innocent
girl"? Haven't you ever heard me
sing to someone and they obey like
a poor puppy? Are you that
gullible? |
|

|
| |
SHIMMER
(surprised and mad)
You got your power already! You
sing, they obey? Why haven't you
told me this? I thought we were
friends! |
|
|
|
| |
SHIMMER
He is MY Prince, you can't stop me
now. |
|
|
|
| |
AQUA
(hesitant)
Then, we must fight for him. To
the death! |
|
|
|
|
Whip out pitchforks |
|
|
| |
SHIMMER
A duel! To the death! I agree!
Good luck! |
|
|

AQUA walks behind SHIMMER, about to stab her |

|

SHIMMER
(turns around,
stabs AQUA)
AHA! |

AQUA falls to the floor |

|

PEARL runs in |

PEARL
(runs to AQUA's
dead body)
SHIMMER! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS! |

SHIMMER
(sings,
controlling)
You forgot what you saw... |

PEARL
(dazed)
Wha...Wha...Whats going on? |
|
|
|

SHIMMER
Pearl,I have terrible news! Aqua
died, she drowned...of swimmers
ear! |

|
|
|
PEARL faints |
|
|

EXT. NEXT DAY, OUTSIDE CASTLE - AFTERNOON |

PRINCE
Hi, Shimmer! You doin' alright? |
|
|
|
| |
SHIMMER
No, I have terrible news! Aqua
drowned of swimmers ear and died! |
|
|
|
| |
PRINCE
(terrified,
surprised)
WHAT? Is that even possible for a
mermaid!!!??? |
|
|
|
| |
SHIMMER
(bursts in "tears")
I don't wanna talk about it! |
|
|
|
|
SHIMMER runs out |
|
|
|
PEARL approaches PRINCE |
|
|
| |
PEARL
(horrified)
PRINCE! I heard your convo with
Shimmer. She lied to you! |
|
|
|

PRINCE
I had my suspicions...what do you
know? |
|
|
|
| |
PEARL
Shimmer put a spell on me to
forget what I saw, but the spell
wore off, Shimmer killed Aqua and
I shall NEVER forgive her! |

PRINCE
WHAT! I HATE THAT FISH HEAD! I
love your honesty... |

|

PEARL
(blushes)
Well...you are handsome! |
|
|
|
| |
PRINCE
(down on one knee)
Marry me? |

|

They kiss |

NARRATOR
Pearl grows out of her valley girl
phase. Her and the Prince live
happily ever after in loving
memory of Aqua, and Shimmer gets
put in MerJail. THE END |
