TIME WE HAVE LEFT. EPISODE 2 "BROKEN"
|
FADE IN:
|
INT. MARTIN HOUSEHOLD - MORNING |
|
ALFIE WHITE, 15, tall, a nice looking young man, red headed.
CHARLOTTE MARTIN, 14 and a half, average height, cute,
brunette, devious. |
|
Alfie and Charlotte are laying in bed. Alfie is awake, he's
looking at Charlotte; smiling. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
EXT. PLAYGROUND - LATER |
|
GRACIE LEWIS, 15, average height, blonde, she;s usually cute
but at the moment she looks like puke, she had dried mascara
all over her as though she'd been crying. |
|
Alfie is walking through the playground. He then notices
Gracie sitting on the swing, looking more depressed than
Kurt Cobain. Alfie walks up to Gracie and sits down next to
her. |
|
|
ALFIE
Hey, Gracie. Is everything
alright? |
|
|
Gracie shakes her head. |
|
|
GRACIE
Do I look like jumping out of my
fucking chair with joy, Alfie? |
|
|
|
ALFIE
Hey, I'm just tryin' to help.
Here, how about this. I got a
perfectly rolled up doobie on me,
let's smoke it up and then you
tell what's wrong, deal? |
|
|
Gracie smirks and then nods. |
|

|
|
GRACIE
Sure. That might actually help me
right now. |
|
|
|
|
|
EXT. PLAYGROUND - CONTINUOUS |
|
Alfie and Gracie head underneath one of the slides. Alfie
lights up the joint and takes a puff. He passes the doobie
to Gracie. |
|
|
ALFIE
So, what's goin' on with you,
Gracie? You know that you can tell
me anything. |
|
|
|
|
Alfie's eyes widen. |
|
|
|
Gracie sniffles and wipes one of her eyes. |
|
|
GRACIE
He.. cheated on me... with Liz's
cousin, Amy. Was it? |
|
|
|
ALFIE
Emily. But that doesn't matter,
what do you need me to do? You
want to talk to him? Fuck him up? |
|
|
Gracie forces a laugh. |
|
|
GRACIE
Thanks but... I don't think it'll
help. You're a good friend. |
|
|
Gracie leans in and kisses Alfie on the cheek. |
|
|
GRACIE
Well, I'm gonna go, I feel like
I'm dressed like a slut. |
|
|
Alfie reaches out and lights taps Gracie's arm. |
|
3.
|
|
ALFIE
Why don't you come home with me?
You know house isn't that far
away, unlike yours. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
INT. MITCHELL HOUSEHOLD - MORNING |
|
HARRY MARTIN, 15 and a half, average height, brown hair.
EMILY SMITH, 16, tall, wears kind of slutty clothes, likes
to wear runny eyeliner. |
|
Harry wakes up in an odd room. Suddenly Emily walks in;
fully dressed. |
|
|
EMILY
Alright, I think it's time you got
going. |
|
|
Harry has a confused look on his face. |
|
|
|
|
EMILY
Leave. You've had your fun, now be
on your way. |
|
|
Harry continues to look confused. |
|
|
|
|
EXT. PLAYGROUND - DAY |
|
Harry is walking through the playground when his cell phone
rings. |
|
Harry answers his phone. |
|
|
|
On the other line of the phone is Jack, he sounds very
nervous. |
|
4.
|
|
JACK
Harry! Listen man, it's Jack. |
|
|
In the background of the call is Ben. |
|
|
|
|
HARRY
Good for you guys. What's wrong? |
|
|
|
JACK
So Ben and I were selling a shit
load of pills yesterday. But then
the cops came and found us! So Ben
and I packed our bags and are
leaving town! Give everyone our
regards! |
|
|
As Harry is about to say something they hang up. |
|
|
|
|
INT. WHITE HOUSEHOLD - DAY |
|
Alfie walks into his house, with Gracie not to far behind
him. They reach the hallway when Alfie's mother calls for
him. |
|
|
ALFIE'S MOM
Alfie, come here please. |
|
|
Alfie points to his room and pats Gracie's back. Gracie
walks down the hall, and Alfie walks into the kitchen. |
|
|
|
|
INT. WHITE HOUSEHOLD - CONTINUOUS |
|
Alfie steps on the tiled floor. His mother leans against the
counter, cigarette in her mouth. |
|
|
ALFIE'S MOM
Go on! Take a seat! |
|
|
Alfie's mom points at a chair, Alfie does as she says. |
|
|
ALFIE'S MOM
Would you mind telling me where
the fuck you were last night?!? |
|
|
5.
|
|
ALFIE
Harry and I were hanging out and
it got late so I spent the night.
I was going to tell you but I
forgot. |
|
|
|
ALFIE'S MOM
Now you know I don't like that
Harry kid, he's a bad influence on
you. |
|
|
Alfie's mom has calmed down. |
|
|
ALFIE'S MOM
Now go on! Get! Go to your room
and think about what you've done. |
|
|
Alfie walks out of the kitchen. |
|
|
|
|
INT. ALFIE'S ROOM - MOMENTS LATER |
|
Alfie shuts the door behind him. |
|
|
ALFIE
Um... ok. If you're going to stay
here for the time being, there
must be a couple of ground rules. |
|
|
|
|
|
INT. MITCHELL HOUSEHOLD - DAY |
|
LIZ MITCHELL, 15, average height, short cut blonde hair.
AMELIA CLARKE, 15, average height, long dark green hair. |
|
Amelia has Liz sitting on the kitchen counter, they're
making out. Emily walks in; eye's are widdened. |
|
|
EMILY
Woah there cowgirls. |
|
|
Liz lifts her head up. |
|
|
|
Liz gets off the counter. Amelia and Liz walk toward Emily. |
|
6.
|
|
|
Liz smirks. |
|
|
LIZ
So, who was with you last night? |
|
|
|
EMILY
I don't follow, can you please
elaborate? |
|
|
|
|
|
LIZ
We heard you through the walls. |
|
|
Emily shrugs her shoulders. |
|
|
|
Liz has a surprised look on her face. |
|
|
LIZ
But you just moved here, you don't
have any friends. |
|
|
Emily grabs a banana and starts peeling it. |
|
|
EMILY
You're right. That's why I have
yours. |
|
|
Emily leaves the kitchen. Liz's face is full of shock and
mystery. |
|
|
|
|
EXT. SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD - AFTERNOON |
|
Alfie and Gracie are walking down the street, their hands in
their pockets. Liz, Harry, and Amelia join them. |
|
|
|
|
ALFIE
Sorry about that. What's up guys? |
|
|
7.
|
|
HARRY
I have information about Jack and
Ben. It includes why we haven't
seen them at all the past two
days. |
|
|
|
ALFIE
Well what is it then?!? |
|
|
|
HARRY
Not now. I'll tell you later. At
the park. Everyone's gonna be
there. You, Gracie, Liz, Amelia,
Emily, and me. |
|
|
|
GRACIE
I bet you'd like it if Emily was
there. |
|
|
Harry puts his arm around Gracie's shoulder. |
|
|
HARRY
Babe what's the matter. |
|
|
Gracie shoves Harry away. |
|
|
GRACIE
You cheated on me, again! Why?!? I
thought you loved me! |
|
|
Harry starts stuttering. |
|
|
HARRY
We-well I-I do, it was j-just a
mistake. |
|
|
|
GRACIE
How was that a mistake? Did you
just trip and fall inside her? |
|
|
Gracie wraps herself around Alfie's arm. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
EXT. PLAYGROUND - EVENING |
|
Liz, Amelia, Gracie, Alfie, and Harry are sitting in a
circle. |
|
8.
|
|
GRACIE
So what happened to Jack and Ben? |
|
|
|
HARRY
They were playing dealer wanna-bes
when the cops showed up. |
|
|
Alfie looks confused. |
|
|
|
Harry shakes his head. |
|
|
HARRY
They left town. The cops were
chasing their asses. |
|
|
|
LIZ
Case closed. Let's all go home. By
the way, Billy Wintson is throwing
a party and I was invited. I was
told I could bring friends, You
guys want in? |
|
|
Everyone looks at each other. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
EXT. SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD - NIGHT |
|
Alfie is walking all by himself. He walks by Harry's house
and looks into Charlotte's window. She passes by it, she's
kissing another guy. Alfie smiles, and continues walking. |
|
|
|
|
INT. WHITE HOUSEHOLD - MOMENTS LATER |
|
Alfie closes the door behind him. |
|
|
|
Alfie walks down into the hall and into his room. |
|
9.
|
|
|
|
INT. ALFIE'S ROOM - CONTINUOUS |
|
Alfie shuts his bedroom door behind him. Alfie lies down on
his bed and shuts his eyes. |
|
|
ALFIE
Why does my life have to suck so
damn much. |
|
|
Gracie walks out of Alfie's closet. |
|
|
GRACIE
I ask the same thing to myself. |
|
|
Gracie lays on the bed with him. |
|
|
ALFIE
Gracie. Would it be weird if I
told you I love you? |
|
|
Gracie and Alfie's hand lock. |
|
|
GRACIE
Not at all. Love you too. |
|
|
|
|
