SERUM

A man is randomly selected among others. To search a remote and abandoned research facility. For a vile containing an important serum.

FADE IN:

INT. LABORATORY - DAY
                                                            
Inside a state of the art laboratory, we see a handful of
LAB TECHS.

Both MEN and WOMEN dressed in WHITE LAB COATS.

With safety GOGGLES and LATEX GLOVES.

We see the lab techs working with different COLORED LIQUIDS.

U.C.- A WHITE BOARD with different formula equations.

U.C.- COMPUTER SCREENS with different number sequences.

U.C.- Different colored liquids running through machines.

We see the lab techs working DILIGENTLY.

The camera flips back and forth SIMULTANEOUSLY between the
lab and the rest of the facility.

Revealing the different the personnel within the facility.
                                                            
 
INT. FRONT ENTRANCE - MOMENTS LATER
                                                            
We see TWO SECURITY OFFICERS.

Both are dressed in standard security uniform.

Each guard is wielding an AR-15 MACHINE GUN.

Each guard also has a .45 GLOCK handgun attached to their
hip in a holster.

The security officers are STANDING guard at the front
entrance inside the facility.
                                                            
 
INT. OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER
                                                            
Inside an office we see MEN dressed in SUIT and TIES.

Along with WOMEN in SKIRTS and BLOUSES.

We see some of them inside a CUBICLE working on computers.

Others are talking on phones.

Some are WALKING around CHATTING to each other.

One MAN stops by a WOMAN'S cubicle and drops off a stack
off papers on her desk.
                                                            
                       MAN
      (Placing papers on
       desk)
Just another day at the office.
                                                            
                       WOMAN
Sure is. Thankfully it's Friday.
                                                            
                       MAN
I actually can't wait to get out
of here and have me some end of
the week drinks.
                                                            
                       WOMAN
That makes two of us. It's been a
long week.
                                                            
A second MAN WALKS up to the man and woman.
                                                            
                       MAN 2
      (TO MAN)
I'll have those papers on your
desk by the end of the day.
                                                            
                       MAN
      (TO MAN 2)
Alright. Sounds good.
                                                            
MAN 2 WALKS away.
                                                            
                       MAN
      (TO WOMAN)
You enjoy the rest of your day and
if I don't see you, have a good
weekend.
                                                            
                       WOMAN
Thanks. I will.
                                                            
The man WALKS away.
                                                            
 
INT. LABORATORY - MOMENTS LATER
                                                            
Meanwhile, back at the LABORATORY, we watch as the lab
techs are still working diligently.

All seems to be going well.

When all of a sudden there is a MALFUNCTION with one of the
machines causing the different liquids to SPILL and MIX
within each other.

One of the lab techs REACTS to the malfunction and in doing
so KNOCKS over a WHOLE TRAY of liquids onto the floor
causing more contamination.

Another lab tech notices the accident and SCRAMBLES over to
the wall and hits a RED BUTTON, sounding an alarm throughout
the facility.

All PANIC breaks out within the laboratory.
                                                            
 
INT. OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER
                                                            
Back at the OFFICE we watch as the employees REACT to the
SOUND of the alarm.

Each one STOPS what their doing and PAUSES in FEAR.

They know the alarm means trouble.

U.C.- MAN dropping a coffee mug.

We watch in SILENCE as it SLOWLY hits the ground and
SHATTERS into pieces.

Soon after the silence ends.

All the employees begin to SCRAMBLE to the nearest exit.

PUSHING and SHOVING each other in the process.
                                                            
 
INT. LABORATORY - CONTINUOUS
                                                            
Back at the LABORATORY. We see lab techs racing to the exit
door. To try and beat the lock down.

We watch as one MALE lab tech tries to FRANTICALLY open the
door.

The door doesn't open.

It has already locked itself.

U.C.- Vapors rising up from the mixed liquids on the floor
filling the laboratory.

U.C.- Lab techs EYES becoming BLOOD SHOT under goggles.

We watch as the lab techs begin to suffer from the affects
of the contaminated vapors.

Each one GASPING and COUGHING.

They then begin to FALL to the floor one by one.

U.C.- Vapors rising up to the ventilation system and seeping
through.

U.C.- Vapors traveling through inside of the vents and out
through the vents into the office.

INT. OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

We watch as the vapors begin to seep out the vent and into
the office.

The employees are still scrambling to the exit but find out
that they to are locked inside.

They begin to experience the same fate as the lab techs.

COUGHING AND GASPING for air.

As they begin to FALL to the ground.

One WOMAN is on her knees at her desk.

She is HOLDING her arm across her mouth and nose.

She attempts to reach for the phone but as she reaches for
it, she FALLS over to the ground knocking the phone off the
ringer.

U.C.- Phone dangling back and forth in the air, with dial
tone ringing.
                                                            
We watch as the screen goes BLACK and the word SERUM is
SUPERIMPOSED across the screen.
                                                            
                                         FADE IN
                                                            
 
EXT. COUNTRYSIDE HOUSE - NIGHT
                                                            
We see a pair of headlights in the distance driving up a
long narrow dirt road.

The headlights are that of an OLDER MODEL CHEVY pickup
truck.

We watch as the truck pulls up in front of an OLDER COUNTRY
STYLE house.

The truck comes to a STOP.

Stepping out from the truck is a MAN by the name of MAX
SHUMWAY.

Max is an ALPHA MALE type guy in his early 30's with a
MEDIUM build and some FACIAL SCRUFF.

Max WALKS up the stairs to the front door.

When Max steps on the first step. It BREAKS apart.

Max STUMBLES as he reaches for the railing.

Max regains his balance.

Max now looking down at the broken step.

Max SHAKES his head in DISGUST.

Max WALKS up to the front door.

Max begins to FUMBLE through his keys.

Max happens to notice from the porch light a pile of mail in
front of the door.

Max BENDS DOWN and picks it up.

Max continues to fumble through his many keys.

He finally finds the key to the front door and UNLOCKS it.

Max WALKS into the house.
                                                            
 
INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
                                                            
Max WALKS through the living room.

As we watch Max WALK by.

We see MULTIPLE FAMILY PICTURES of Max and his parents.

We watch as Max WALKS past an end table into the kitchen.

U.C.- Picture of Max's MOTHER with a CROSS hanging from it.

INT. KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS

Max TOSSES the mail onto the table.

We watch as it SCATTERS across the table.

U.C.- Medical bills and late mortgage payments.

Max OPENS the fridge and reaches in and pulls out a cold
BEER.

Max opens the beer and takes a SIP.

Max then reaches into his pocket and pulls out his CELL
PHONE and places it on the table.

Max SITS down at the table and STARES at the pile of bills
that are scattered across the table.

With a SADDENED look on his face.

Max takes another SIP of his beer and begins to get lost
within his thoughts.

No sooner does Max's cell phone start to VIBRATE.

Max picks it up and notices that it's an unknown number.

U.C.- Cell phone reading UNKNOWN NUMBER.

Max answers it.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (Cell phone to his
       ear)
This is Max.
                                                            
A MAN on the other end begins to speak.
                                                            
                       MAN (V.O.)
      (STERN VOICE)
You don't know me but I have
instructions for you to follow. So
I would listen very carefully.
Tomorrow just before dusk a
helicopter will be arriving at
your place. You will then be
escorted onto the helicopter by
two men. Which will then bring you
to an unknown location. It is
there that you will be giving
further instructions. I would
advise that you do what I just
told you or there will be harsh
consequences to follow if you
don't. I would also advise in not
            (MORE)

                       MAN (cont'd)
telling anyone of this phone call.
                                                            
Before Max can say anything the Man hangs up.

Max takes the phone away from his ear and LOOKS at it with a
CONFUSED look.
                                                            
 
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
                                                            
We watch as Max enters a bedroom.

Fixed with nothing more but a BED, NIGHT STAND, and DRESSER.

Max SITS down on the bed and places his cell phone on the
night stand.

Max takes his shoes off and TOSSES them to the floor.

Max then takes his shirt off and PLACES it at the end of the
bed.

Max LAYS down on the bed with his hands behind his head.

STARING up at the ceiling.

We watch the ceiling from Max's POINT OF VIEW.

A ceiling fan SLOWLY circles around.

Moments later we watch as the screen FADES to BLACK.

With the screen still BLACK.

We hear a faint voice in the background calling out Max's
name.
                                                            
 
INT. BEDROOM - MORNING
                                                            
                                         FADE IN.
                                                            
We still hear a FAINT sound in the background calling out
Max's name.

The screen SLOWLY comes into focus.

We watch from Max's point of view.

As Max SLOWLY OPENS his eyes.

We see the ceiling fan still circling around.

We can see the morning SUNLIGHT shining through the bedroom
window.

The voice still calls out Max's name.

It now slowly becomes more clearer.

Max LAYING in bed.

SITS up.

Max RUBS his eyes and swings his feet to the side off the
bed.

Max grabs his cell phone from the night stand and takes a
look at the time.

U.C.- CELL PHONE reading 8:00 am.

Max realizing the time.

SHAKES his head.

Max gets out of bed.

Max then WALKS over to the dresser and pulls out a fresh
SHIRT from the dresser and puts it on.

The voice still calling out Max's name.

Max finally HOLLERS back in return.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (HOLLERS OUT)
Hang on. I'm coming!
                                                            
Max QUICKLY puts his shoes on.

We watch as Max WALKS out of the bedroom to greet the man
calling out his name.
                                                            
 
INT. KITCHEN - MOMENTS LATER
                                                            
Max walks into the kitchen to find the person calling out
his name.

The MAN is Max's FRIEND.

The friend is SITTING at the table.

The man is in his LATE TWENTIES with an ATHLETIC build.

The man is wearing a FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH t-shirt.

With a BACKWARDS BASEBALL HAT.

The man is also DRINKING a BEER.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
      (SARCASTICALLY)
There he is. My ray of sunshine.
                                                            
                       MAX
Jesus man. What the hell are you
doing here at this time of the
day?
                                                            
                       FRIEND
      (HANDS
       OUTSTRETCHED)
I'm here to see my good friend.
                                                            
The friend takes a SIP from his beer.

Max STARES at his friend as he's taking a sip.
                                                            
                       MAX
Don't you think it's a little
early for that?
                                                            
                       FRIEND
      (SARCASTICALLY)
It's five o' clock somewhere.
                                                            
Max WALKS over to a coffee pot.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (POURING THE
       COFFEE)
So really. What brings your ass
over here.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
In all seriousness. I came to see
how you were holding up.
                                                            
Max GRABS his coffee cup and SITS down at the table across
from the friend.
                                                            
                       MAX
Well lets see...(PAUSES and takes
in a DEEP BREATH)... Aside from my
mom recently passing away from
cancer and leaving me this old
piece of shit house. Along with a
            (MORE)

                       MAX (cont'd)
stack of past due mortgage
payments. (POINTS TO THE BILLS ON
THE TABLE) and a bunch of medical
bills to go with it and not to
mention the fact that I don't have
the slightest of ideas on how I'm
going to pay any of them. Since
I'm now currently unemployed. I'd
say I'm fucking peachy.
                                                            
The friend runs his hand through some of the bills.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
Well I can relate to the part of
not knowing how you're going to
pay the bills. Since I'm in that
same boat with you. Giving that
our job was sold to some bullshit
fucking company overseas.
                                                            
                       FRIEND (CONT.)
I take it your dad is still M.I.A.
                                                            
Max is STARING at the bills on the table..
                                                            
                       MAX
Sure is. I haven't seen or heard
from my piece of shit father since
my mother was diagnosed with
cancer.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
I never really was a big fan of
your father. Even when we were
kids. I think it's fucked how he
just up and abandoned your mom the
way he did.
                                                            
                       MAX
Well than that makes two of us but
what are you going to do. I'm sure
if there was a six figure check in
there and/or a business deal. He
could be found.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
Is there anything I could do to
help out?

                       MAX
Not at the moment. I still have so
much to figure out. I don't even
know where to begin.
                                                            
The friend picks up his beer and TILTS it towards Max.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
How about this. What do you say
later on we hit up our local
watering hole and have ourselves
some beers.
                                                            
                       MAX
You mean the strip club.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
Of course. Where else do we go to
have fun in this shit town.
                                                            
Max PAUSES for a moment.
                                                            
                       MAX
Thanks man but I'll have to pass
this time.
                                                            
The friend is DRINKING his beer.

After hearing Max say no to the strip club.

The friend almost spits his beer out.

The friend puts the BEER DOWN and WIPES his mouth with his
hand.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
      (STUNNED LOOK)
Shit. Did I just hear you right.
                                                            
                       MAX
Yeah man. I just have so much
going on right now. That I have to
try and sort through.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
      (STILL IN SHOCK)
Wow alright. Thought maybe you
could use the distraction. I
suppose I'll just let you be than.
                                                            
                       MAX
I appreciate the gesture though.

                       FRIEND
      (SHAKING HEAD)
Still can't believe you just said
no to beer and boobs.
                                                            
The friend gets up from the table and WALKS over to the
fridge.

The friend reaches in and pulls out another BEER.
                                                            
                       MAX
Really.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
What...one more for the road.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (SHAKING HEAD)
Get out of here.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
      (SYMPATHETIC LOOK)
In all seriousness though. I'm
sorry for your loss. I know how
close you were to your mom. She
really was an amazing person.
                                                            
                       MAX
Thanks buddy. That means a lot.
                                                            
The friend begins to WALK away.

When he STOPS and turns around.
                                                            
                       FRIEND
Oh yeah. Before I forget. If you
need a hand with those stairs.
Just holler at me. I know how
shitty your carpentry skills are.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (WITH A SLIGHT
       SMILE)
Will do.
                                                            
The friend WALKS away and leaves.

We hear the door shut in the background.

We see Max SITTING at the table.

With a BLANK LOOK upon his face.

We watch as the scene SLOWLY FADES OUT.
                                                            
                                         FADE IN.
                                                            
U.C.- AXE splitting a LOG in half.
                                                            
 
EXT. BACKYARD - EVENING
                                                            
We see Max outside with his shirt off.

Max is splitting wood with an AXE.

Max GRABS a couple more pieces of wood and splits them in
half.

After the SECOND piece of wood is split.

Max takes the axe and drives it into a TREE STUMP.

Max takes his arm and wipes it across his head. Wiping away
the sweat.

Max reaches for a water bottle.

When he hears a RUMBLING sound off in the distance.

Max takes a SIP of water and puts it down.

Max then reaches for his shirt and puts it on.

Max looks up at the sky.

We watch as a BLACK HELICOPTER flies from the distance
towards Max's direction.

Max takes a glance at his watch.

The helicopter reaches Max and begins to descend down to the
ground.

Max is shielding his face from the wind caused by the
rotating blades.

The helicopter touches ground and the door opens up.

Out from the helicopter step TWO MEN dressed in all BLACK
attire.

Both men are armed with HAND GUNS that are in a holster
attached to the side of their chest.

The two men approach Max.

One man walks behind Max and pulls out a blindfold from his
back pocket.

The man proceeds to put the blindfold on Max.

Max begins to RESIST.

The second man reaches for his gun and pulls it out of the
holster and points it directly at Max.
                                                            
                       MAN 2
      (POINTING GUN)
I'd advise you not to do that.
                                                            
Max complies and let's the man blindfold him.

The two men escort Max over to the helicopter.

The first man gets in and then Max is escorted on next.

The second man gets in last and slides the door closed.

We watch as the helicopter begins to take off and fly away
into the EVENING SUNSET.
                                                            
                                         FADE OUT.
                                                            
 
EXT. SHIPPING DOCK - NIGHT
                                                            
We watch as the helicopter carrying Max lands on a REMOTE
and DESERTED shipping dock.

The door of the helicopter slides open and Max is FORCEFULLY
shoved out to the ground.

Blindfold still on.

The helicopter door slams shut and proceeds to take off.

Max gathers himself and gets to his feet.

Max takes the blindfold off.

Max takes a look around and sees FOUR people standing
together.

THREE GUYS and ONE GIRL.

All of which are STARING at Max.


15.

Max HESITANTLY WALKS over to the people.

As Max walks over to the people he is greeted by a MAN named
ART.

Art is a late 20's man.

With a SLENDER BUILD.

Art is laid back.

With a sense of humor. Which is evident by his inappropriate
but very funny t-shirt.
                                                            
                       ART
Looks like you got the same
treatment as the rest of us.
                                                            
                       MAX
Then I guess I don't have to feel
left out.
                                                            
Art EXTENDS his HAND out to Max.
                                                            
                       ART
      (HAND EXTENDED)
I'm Art.
                                                            
Max still collecting himself.

SHAKES Art's hand.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (SHAKING ART'S
       HAND)
Max.
                                                            
                       ART
Wow. That's a firm handshake you
got there.
                                                            
Max and Art STOP SHAKING HANDS.

Art pulls his hand back and STRETCHES it out from the firm
handshake.
                                                            
Moments later we see a BLACK STRETCH LIMO pull up behind Max
and Art in the background.

Max and Art turn around.

Everyone else focuses their attention on the limo as well.

                       ART
      (TO MAX WITH
       SARCASM)
Looks like someone is getting the
VIP treatment.
                                                            
The camera focuses on the limo door. As it SLOWLY opens.

We see a pair of BLACK COMBAT BOOTS step outside the limo.

The camera SLOWLY raises up to reveal a MAN wearing BLACK
CARGO pants.

With a BLACK t-shirt.

The man is DANE, an ex Black Ops specialist turned rogue.

Dane is a BUILT man who stands very INTIMIDATING.

Art LEANS over to Max.
                                                            
                       ART
      (TO MAX)
That's one bad ass looking dude.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (TO ART)
Sure is.
                                                            
Dane begins to WALK over to the crowd of people.
                                                            
                       DANE
Now I bet you're all wondering
what it is that you're doing here.
                                                            
Everyone begins to SHAKE their heads.

Dane begins to tell everyone why they were brought here and
what it is that they will be doing.
                                                            
                       DANE
      (STERN VOICE)
Allow me to be the one to tell
you. In short, you were all
brought here to play a game. The
game is simple. You will all be
escorted by boat shortly to a
remote facility on an island. The
facility is abandoned. Within this
facility is a vile that contains a
liquid. The first person lucky
enough to find this vile will then
go to the top floor of the
facility. Where you will find a
            (MORE)

                       DANE (cont'd)
flare gun. Use the flare gun to
signal that you have found the
vile. Once the flare gun goes off
the game will than be over.
                                                            
A MAN among the individuals, who is in his EARLY 20's.

With a NERDY look.

Sporting THICK BLACK frame glasses and a BUTTONED down
shirt.

The nerdy guy RAISES his hand in the air.
                                                            
                       DANE
      (TO NERDY GUY)
What is it.
                                                            
                       NERDY GUY
Is there a reward of some kind for
finding the vile?
                                                            
                       DANE
Thought you'd never ask...(PAUSES)
The prize for finding the vile
will be in the form of a million
dollars.
                                                            
Everyone REACTS in EXCITEMENT to the reward.

Max SPEAKS OUT.
                                                            
                       MAX
How do we know what the vile looks
like?
                                                            
                       DANE
You'll know.
                                                            
A big MUSCLE GUY in his LATE 20's named DEREK.

With a HIGH SCHOOL JOCK look chimes in.
                                                            
                       DEREK
What if no one finds the vile?
                                                            
                       DANE
Well then that means no one wins
and you will all be deemed losers.
                                                            

18.

                       ART
      (UNDER HIS BREATH)
I'm not a loser.
                                                            
Moments later a SPEEDBOAT pulls up along side the dock in
the background.
                                                            
                       DANE
      (TO EVERYONE)
Looks like your chariot has
arrived.
                                                            
Everyone begins to WALK over to the boat.

As they are walking Dane STOPS them all to tell them one
last thing.
                                                            
                       DANE
Oh and one last thing. You have
until daybreak to find the vile.
Good luck.(SADISTIC GRIN)
                                                            
The individuals proceed to the boat.

Dane WALKS back to the limo and gets inside.
                                                            
Everyone forms a line to get onto the boat.

Art is STANDING in back of a GIRL, followed by Max.

The GIRL is AVERY, an ATTRACTIVE BRUNETTE, LATE 20's.

With a SLEEK and SLENDER body.

Art begins to interact with Avery.
                                                            
                       ART
Hi there. How did you get so lucky
to be here?
                                                            
                       AVERY
      (SARCASM)
Must of been my good looks.
                                                            
Art SMILES but before he can say anything he is PUSHED aside
to the ground by Derek.
                                                            
                       DEREK
      (PUTS ARM AROUND
       GIRL)
You need to back off. This is my
property.
                                                            

19.

Derek gives Art a quick STARE DOWN before he and Avery get
on the boat.

Max EXTENDS his HAND OUT to Art and helps him to his feet.
                                                            
                       ART
      (TO MAX)
What a douche bag.
                                                            
                       MAX
There's one in every crowd.
                                                            
Art and Max are the last two on the boat.

They SIT DOWN next to each other.

The boat begins to take off.

We watch as the boat takes off QUICKLY into the distance on
the open water.

Under the MOONLIGHT.
                                                            
 
INT. BACK SEAT OF LIMO - NIGHT
                                                            
Dane is SITTING in the back seat of the limo with a MAN and
WOMAN.

The MAN is EDWARD ORDWELL.

Edward is a MIDDLE-AGED man dressed in a FINE SUIT and TIE.

Edward is a VERY ARROGANT man.

The WOMAN, who is sitting across from Edward is an
ATTRACTIVE BLONDE in her EARLY 30's.

The woman is wearing a SHORT SKIRT, showing off her LONG and
SLENDER legs.

She is also wearing a BLOUSE unbuttoned down revealing a
nice view of CLEAVAGE.

The woman is also sporting SEXY glasses.

The woman is Edward's assistant and she is fixing Edward a
glass of SCOTCH.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
      (TO DANE)
Is everything in place.

The assistant hands Edward the glass of scotch. Reaching
over to Edward in the process.

Revealing her CLEAVAGE.

U.C.- Assistant's cleavage.

Edward takes a moment to stare at the cleavage.

As does Dane.

Edward then GRABS the glass and takes a SIP of the scotch.
                                                            
                       DANE
Everything is all set sir. The
participants have been instructed
on what to do and there heading to
the facility right now as we
speak.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
      (HOLDING SCOTCH IN
       HAND)
As for everything else?
                                                            
                       DANE
My men are already at the facility
waiting. I've instructed them on
what to do. Also, the facility is
rigged throughout with explosives.
As ordered by you.
                                                            
Dane REACHES into his pant pocket and pulls out a SMALL pen
like object with a button on the top of it.

Dane HANDS the object to Edward.

Edward takes it from Dane.
                                                            
Edward takes a look at the object.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
I gather this is the detonator.
                                                            
                       DANE
Yes sir it is. All you have to do
is push that button there on top
and the timer will be detonated.
                                                            
Edward is ADMIRING the detonator.

With a GRIN on his face.

                       EDWARD
      (DETONATOR IN HAND)
Good and how about your men.
                                                            
                       DANE
What about them.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
Are they any good.
                                                            
                       DANE
Yes sir. The best.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
Cause you know I can't afford to
have any of this leak out to the
public. Nor can I have any loose
ends that can be traced back to
me.
                                                            
                       DANE
Rest easy sir. Everything is under
control.
                                                            
Edward RAISES his glass in the air.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
That's what I like to hear.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
      (TO ASSISTANT)
Fix this man a drink.

with caution.

Derek is LAYING in the hallway a few yards down in a pool of
BLOOD.

His intestines have been RIPPED out and are laying all over
the place.

His throat has also been RIPPED open.

Avery now TERRIFIED.

Lets out a HORRIFIC scream and QUICKLY RUNS off in the
opposite direction down the hallway.

The cafeteria is equipped with VENDING MACHINES, MICROWAVES,

There is also TWO TABLES in the CENTER of the cafeteria.

Some of the microwaves are OPEN.

There is food left out everywhere on the counters and
tables.

The food is old and WREAKS of a horrible stench.

We watch as TWO MEN JUMP through the mirror from the other
side.

SMASHING the mirror into pieces.

One of the men JUMPS onto Max. Taking him to the ground.

The other one LEAPS onto a table.

Then LUNGES towards Art.

We watch as Art DROPS the candy bar in SHOCK.

The guard puts his hands around Art's neck PINNING him
against the vending machine.

The two men are the SECURITY GUARDS.

They have been INFECTED by the vapors.

They both are GREENISH-YELLOW looking.

With VEINS showing throughout their body and face.

Their eyes are GREENISH-YELLOW and BLOODSHOT.

Their pupils are DILATED.

A GREEN OOZE like substance is FOAMING from their mouths.

SUSPENSE MUSIC PLAYS in background.

We see Max on the floor STRUGGLING with the guard.

The guard is on top of Max.

Max's hands are on the guards throat preventing the guard
from biting him.

GREEN OOZE is DRIPPING down from the guard's mouth.

Max continues to struggle with the guard.

Max notices the handgun in the holster on the guard's hip.

Max takes one of is hands and REACHES for the gun.

Max pulls the gun out and FIRES THREE shots into the guard's
chest.

We watch as the three shots EXIT through the security
guard's back.

BLOOD SPILLS out everywhere.

The guard FALLS over to the ground.

Max QUICKLY gets to his feet and JUMPS on the table.

Max JUMPS off the table and reaches Art.

Art is STRUGGLING with the guard.

Preventing the guard from biting him.

Each man has their rifle fixed in a SHOOTING position.

Both men CAUTIOUSLY search around the boiler room.

One man spots a HUGE BOILER.

The man SIGNALS to the other man.

The other man WALKS over.

The man NODS his head to the other man.

The two men SLOWLY WALK towards the boiler.

One man SIGNALS to the other to stop with a HAND GESTURE.

The man POINTS to his eyes letting the other know to watch
out.

Both men SLOWLY continue WALKING towards the boiler.

Guns still DRAWN to a shooting position.

Both men reach the boiler.

One of the men takes the lead.

The man begins to walk SLOWLY and CAUTIOUSLY around the
boiler.

The other follows CLOSELY behind.

The two men stop again and PAUSE for a moment.

The man taking the lead LOOKS back at the other man and NODS
his head.

The second man NODS his head back in compliance.

The two men then RUSH around the boiler.

Both men STAND with their guns DRAWN into a shooting
position.

SUSPENSE music stops.

We see the nerdy guy in a CROUCHED position.

him back to the ground.

The woman is a lab worker.

The woman BITES the nerdy guy's neck.

RIPPING a huge portion of flesh off.

The nerdy guy begins to BLEED OUT profusely.

The woman then LOOKS up at the two men and lets out a
GHASTLY GROWL.

The two men begin to OPEN FIRE upon the woman.

Each one emptying an entire magazine into the woman.

The camera shows the woman getting RIDDLED with bullets.

The camera shows FIVE more INFECTED people come out from
within the darkness and descend upon the two men.

The infected people are OFFICE WORKERS.

Both MEN and WOMEN.

The two men try and reload their guns but have no time and
are overpowered QUICKLY.

They are both brought to the ground.

We watch as the infected people begin to feast upon their
bodies.

We hear the SOUND of FLESH being RIPPED apart.

The camera turns away.

As we continue to hear the sound of flesh being ripped

Dane STOPS in the hallway and lifts his walkie from his side

Art MANEUVERS around Avery and HURRIES to the top of the
stairs.

Art PULLS out his gun from his waist and points it at the

Edward then pulls out a cigar from his pocket and puts it in

His assistant holds a lighter up to the cigar and lights it

This time we are revealed MULTIPLE infected office workers.

Both MALE and FEMALE STANDING at the bottom of the stairs.

They are STANDING over the BLOODY corpse that fell down
earlier from the top of the stairwell.

The workers take notice of the man and begin to WALK up the
stairs towards him.

The man SHOOTS off multiple rounds at the workers.

We watch as some of the bullets hit the infected workers.

BLOOD SPILLS out everywhere.

SUSPENSE MUSIC CONTINUES.

The man EMPTIES a full magazine into the crowd of infected
workers.

We watch as the man RUNS FRANTICALLY back up the couple
flights stairs.

The man finally reaches the hallway door and PULLS it open
and HURRIES into the hallway.

The man QUICKLY SLAMS the door behind him and leans up
against it.

SUSPENSE MUSIC STOPS.

The man takes out the empty magazine and RELOADS his gun
with a fresh magazine.

The man catches his breath for a moment.

The man then takes off RUNNING towards the laboratory.

We watch as the man continues to RUN AWAY in the distance.

We then watch as an infected lab worker appears from out of
a room into the hallway and TACKLES the man against the
wall.

The lab worker then takes the man to the ground.

The lab worker BITES the man in the neck.

We watch as the man's flesh is RIPPED off.

Blood SQUIRTING out of the lab workers mouth.

PAPERS on the table into the direction of the man.

The papers fly into the face of the man.

Max then RUSHES the man head on.

Max GRABS onto the gun.

Max and the man begin to GRAPPLE.

Art GRABS Avery and DUCKS out of the way.

Max and the man continue to GRAPPLE.

Both Max and the man have both hands on the gun.

Max PUSHES the man against a table.

VILES and EQUIPMENT get KNOCKED OVER to the ground.

The man COUNTERS and PINS Max onto the table using the gun
to do so.

Max STRUGGLES with the man.

Moments later we see a BIG GLASS vile SMASH over the man's
head.

The man FALLS to the ground UNCONSCIOUS.

We see Avery STANDING looking down at the man.

Max uses his elbow to knock out a portion of the glass.

Max then sticks the flare gun out the window and fires off

This time we see a figure SLOWLY emerge from the darkness.

Shortly after we see MULTIPLE infected office workers emerge
from the darkness.

Dane now sees the infected workers WALKING SLOWLY towards

We also watch as more infected workers come out from the
darkness.

Dane EMPTIES his CLIP.

No more ammo is left.

The infected workers CLOSE IN on Dane.

Dane TOSSES his gun to the side.

The infected workers have now reached Dane.

Dane begins to FIGHT the infected workers.

Dane PUNCHES one of the MALE workers in the face.

Dane then ELBOWS another in the side of the head.

A FEMALE infected workers BITES Dane in the UPPER ARM.

Dane GRABS the worker and SLAMS her to the ground.

Dane then STOMPS on the workers face.

We hear the GROTESQUE SOUND of Dane's boot crushing the
worker's face in.

Another FEMALE worker JUMPS on Dane's back.

Dane manages to FLIP her over to the ground.

Dane is soon outnumbered.

One MALE worker BITES Dane in the NECK.

RIPPING out a piece of his FLESH.

Dane FALLS to his KNEES.

Dane is then overpowered by the workers.

They begin to feast on Dane's body.

We see and hear Dane's body being RIPPED apart by the many

Cause that's all it's ever been

big business deal. Making a quick

                       MAX (CONT.)
      (HOLDING THE VILE
       UP)
Did it ever occur to you that
maybe just maybe mom could have
used this. To help save her life.
Or did you not think about that.
Like when you took off after she
was diagnosed with cancer.
(RAISING VOICE IN FRUSTRATION) Or
how about when you left her to die
alone on her death bed. Did any of
that ever occur to you. Or was it
all just about business. Like
always.
                                                            
We watch as the infected workers are still WALKING up the
stairs.
                                                            
INT. ABANDONED ROOM - CONTINUOUS
                                                            
                       EDWARD
I don't know what it is that you
want me say. That I'm sorry.
                                                            
                       MAX
That's not even remotely enough.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
Than what more do you want from
me.
To tell you that a was a horrible
father and an even worse husband.
                                                            
                       MAX
It's still not enough. I don't
think there's anything you can do
or say that can make up for all
the pain and suffering you caused.
Not only to me but my mother. Your
wife.

                       EDWARD
      (UNSYMPATHETIC)
Alright than. I get it. You hate
me. Can we get out of here now.
                                                            
                       MAX
Look at you. After all these years
you still don't care. Only
thinking about your greedy little
self.
                                                            
                       MAX (CONT.)
But there is one thing I want to
let you know.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
What is that.
                                                            
                       MAX
That this is one deal that isn't
going to happen.
                                                            
Max HOLDS out the vile in front of Edward and let's it go
from his hand.

We watch in SLOW MOTION as the vile FALLS to the ground.

Edward LUNGES for it.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
      (HOLLERS OUT)
NO!
                                                            
The vile SMASHES to the ground.

Edward is now KNEELING on the ground by the smashed vile in
SHOCK.
                                                            
                       EDWARD
      (FRUSTRATED)
Do you have any idea what you've
just done.
                                                            
                       MAX
Something I should have done a
long time ago.
                                                            
Max PUNCHES Edward in the FACE.

We watch as BLOOD SPITS OUT from Edward's mouth.

Edward FALLS over to the ground.

We then see the infected workers WALK through the doorway
and make their way over to Edward.

The infected workers begin to ATTACK Edward.

We watch as Edward is RIPPED apart by the workers.

Max takes a moment to watch the infected workers attack
Edward.

Max then TURNS AWAY and starts to RUN towards the MULTI-PANE
GLASS WINDOW.

U.C.- Timer at 10 seconds and counting.

Max continues to RUN towards the MULTI-PANE GLASS WINDOW.

Two infected workers a MALE and FEMALE.

CHASE after Max.

U.C.- Timer counting down 3, 2, 1

We watch as the timer reads ZERO.

The bomb goes off and EXPLODES.

We watch as Max reaches the multi-pane glass window and
JUMPS out through it.

We watch as the FLAMES ENGULF all the infected workers and
Edward.

FLAMES BURST out through the window.

We watch as Max FALLS out of the window into the WATER.

With FLAMES SHOOTING out from the building.

We watch as Max SPLASHES through the water.

Max starts SWIMMING UNDERWATER.

FLAMES SPREAD out from above into the MORNING AIR.
                                                            
 
EXT. SPEEDBOAT - DAY
                                                            
Art and Avery are waiting on the speedboat.

Art and Avery hear the explosion in the background.

                       ART
      (SARCASM)
That can't be good.
                                                            
                       AVERY
We have to go back.
                                                            
Avery starts to get off the speedboat to head back to the
facility.

Art GRABS Avery and STOPS her from going back.
                                                            
                       ART
Hold up. Now I'm not the smartest
guy in the world but that kind of
sounded like an explosion. Which
means the building is on fire and
probably crumbling to the ground.
                                                            
                       AVERY
So what. We can't just leave
without checking to see if Max is
alive.
                                                            
                       ART
By the sound of that explosion. I
don't think anyone made it out
alive.
                                                            
Avery starts to breakdown into TEARS.
                                                            
                       AVERY
      (WITH TEARS)
Dammit.
                                                            
Art puts his hands on Avery's shoulders.

Avery TURNS AROUND and brings her face into Art's chest.

Avery starts to CRY.

Art CONSOLES Avery.

Moments later we hear a voice in the background.
                                                            
                       MAX (O.S.)
Now you wouldn't be crying over
me.
                                                            
Art and Avery both LOOK OVER to see Max WALKING to the boat.

Clothes DRENCHED from his swim.

Avery HOPS over the boat and RUNS up towards Max.

Max and Avery embrace in a HUG.
                                                            
                       AVERY
      (HUGGING MAX)
Thank God. You made it.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (HUGGING AVERY)
I told you that I would.
                                                            
Art is STANDING on the boat.
                                                            
                       ART
      (HOLLERS OUT)
I knew you would make it all along
buddy.
                                                            
Max and Avery STOP HUGGING.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (HOLLERS TO ART)
Yeah. Sure you did.
                                                            
Max and Avery WALK back to the boat.

Art helps Avery up onto the boat.

Max follows after Avery.
                                                            
                       ART
      (TO MAX)
What did you do. Decide to go for
a swim.
                                                            
                       MAX
It was either that or get burnt
alive.
                                                            
                       ART
Let me see if I can find you a
towel.
                                                            
Art heads beneath the boat to the cabin.
                                                            
Max and Avery SIT down.
                                                            
                       AVERY
I have to admit. I was worried
when I heard the explosion.

                       MAX
Didn't think I was going to make
it out in time.
                                                            
                       AVERY
Well I'm glad you did. What about
your father?
                                                            
                       MAX
What about him.
                                                            
                       AVERY
Did you see him in there.
                                                            
                       MAX
I did.
                                                            
                       AVERY
And.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (PAUSES FOR A
       MOMENT)
Well we didn't have a father son
bonding moment. If that's what
you're asking. Though I can say I
finally got some much needed
closure.
                                                            
                       AVERY
Did he make it out.
                                                            
                       MAX
No. In the end my father got
exactly what he deserved.
                                                            
                       MAX (CONT.)
My father was without a doubt a
horrible man.
                                                            
Avery puts her HAND on Max's SHOULDER.
                                                            
                       MAX
Unlike his son.
                                                            
Max turns his head to look at Avery.

The two STARE at each other for a moment.

Max then LEANS in and KISSES Avery.

The two continue to KISS.

Art comes up from beneath the boat.

HOLDING a BIG BLACK DUFFEL BAG.
                                                            
                       ART
Will you two get a room
                                                            
Max and Avery STOP KISSING.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (TO ART)
Did you find a towel?
                                                            
                       ART
No I didn't find a towel. Although
I did find something better.
                                                            
Art TOSSES the duffel bag over at Max and Avery's feet.

U.C.- Duffel bag full of money.
                                                            
                       AVERY
      (SHOCKED LOOK)
Oh my God. Is that.
                                                            
                       ART
A bag full of money. Why yes it
is.
                                                            
Avery gets UP and KNEELS down by the duffel bag and PULLS
OUT a wad of MONEY and flips through it with her thumb.
                                                            
                       ART
Looks like the money was real
after all.
                                                            
                       MAX
Have to admit. I'm a little
surprised.
                                                            
Avery TOSSES a wad over to Max.

Max CATCHES it and forces out a slight SMILE.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (TO ART HOLDING
       THE WAD OF CASH)
What do you say we get out of here
and go have those beers.

                       ART
      (SARCASTIC)
You know those are the best words
to come out of your mouth yet.
                                                            
Art WALKS to the front of the boat.

Avery gets up from kneeling and SITS back down next to Max.
                                                            
                       AVERY
I guess it's some consolation for
all that we went through.
                                                            
                       MAX
I don't know. I think I'm walking
away with something worth more
than the money.
                                                            
                       AVERY
Now Max. You wouldn't be referring
to me would you.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (WITH A SMILE)
I could be.
                                                            
Avery gently SLAPS Max on the chest.

The two then EMBRACE each other.

Art STARTS the boat up.
                                                            
                       ART
      (HOLLERS OUT)
All aboard.
                                                            
                       MAX
      (HOLLERS TO ART)
Do you even know how to drive this
thing?
                                                            
                       ART
      (HOLLERS OUT)
Sure I do. I've read speedboats
for dummies.
                                                            
Max and Avery SMILE.

We watch as the speedboat races off in the open water.

Camera shows a WIDE shot from above.

The speedboat continues to ride off in the distance.

FADE OUT to ENDING CREDITS.
                                                            
                                         FADE IN.
                                                            
 
EXT. WOODED AREA - DAY
                                                            
We see Edward's assistant WALKING through the woods.

Carrying both of her high heels in her hand.

Confused as to where she is.

She happens to spot a small spring filled with water.

She WALKS over to it and KNEELS down.

Placing her heels to the side of her.

She reaches in with her hands and SPLASHES water on her
face.

She reaches in again with a cupped hand and brings water to
her mouth for a drink.

She REACHES in for a THIRD time.

This time she drops the water from her hand.

We watch as she grows a CONCERNED look upon her face.

We watch from behind as she SLOWLY turns her head around and
looks up with HORROR.

STANDING behind her are THREE infected workers from the
facility.

Two MALE office workers and one FEMALE lab worker.

The assistant let's out a HORRIFIC SCREAM.

We watch the three infected workers descend down upon her.

The flow is a bit disjointed to read. You might consider condensing the direction given and not space each element you are conveying. Avoid using the parenthetical annotations in dialogue. You have a decent idea, but it needs some clean up.
