Two cousins set out with some friends to discover the circumstances surrounding their fathers deaths nineteen years previous.

PRIVATE PROPERTY: BLOOD BROTHERS

FADE IN:

EXT. CAMP - NIGHT

A group of friends sits around a fire, drinking and having a
good time.

Pete grabs his drink and motions for he others to be quiet.

PETE
Ok guys you ready to hear a
legend?

ANGEL
Come on Pete, you know I already
hate it here. It gives me the
creeps.

WILL
Oh Angel relax.

LINDSAY
Ok Pete, the floor is yours.

PETE
Grab your drinks now, because I am
only going to tell this story
once. Are you all familiar with
the legend of Vincent Banks?

WILL
Who or what the hell is Vincent
Banks?

PETE
The old owner of the mill in town.
Now story has it, that after a
long day at the mill, Vince set
off to head home. However on this
day he didn't come home alone. He
gets home and everything is going
great. Kids are playing the wife
is making dinner, hes living the
life. Then comes the knock on the
door.

ANGEL
Knock?

PETE
Yes a knock. So Vince answers the
door and he's greeted to knife
held to his throat and three men
burst in. After that it's a total
shit show.

ANGEL
So what? Did they rob them?

PETE
He wishes. No, they kill his two
kids, rape and kill his wife. All
along they make him watch. Then
after the torture was finally
over, they slit his throat, and
leave him to bleed out with his
family. Legend would tell you that
he roams these woods looking for
those who did him wrong. Reality
will tell you what you choose to
believe.

ANGEL
I call bullshit on that one.

An over the shoulder shot of an outline watching them.

LINDSAY
No, no my grandfather tells that
exact same story to me and my
cousins all the time.

WILL
Imagine that he was out there
right now, just watching us.

They look around.

ANGEL
Really, guys?

WILL
Come on Angel. This legend is like
any other one. It's all stones and
folklore.

LINDSAY
There's something more to them
when they are based on your area.

WILL
Well I don't know about you guys
but I am tapping out for the
night.

LINDSAY
Yeah, I'll come with you.

Will gets up and leads Lindsay off shot.

ANGEL
Get some sleep you two. You coming
hunny?

PETE
Yeah I'll be there in a second.
Just gotta go drain the main vein.

ANGEL
Ok, be careful.

Angel hands him the flashlight and Pete heads out.

EXT. BUSH - MOMENTS LATER

Pete stumbles up to a tree. He holds the flashlight in his
mouth while he does his belt. Something moves past the
camera really quick with a rustling noise. Pete turns his
head to the sound and sees nothing.

PETE
(looks around)
What the fuck?

Pete tries to shrug it off, but there is another noise
behind him. He quickly turns again.

PETE
Ok guys. You can stop fucking with
me.

Pete takes a step back and looks around again.

PETE
Guys? Will come on man, I know
it's you.

No one shows.

PETE
Whatever fuck you guys too.

Pete finishes his business. He turns and there is Vince,
right in front of him.

PETE
You can't be... Your supposed to
be a legend.

VINCE
Some legends, are real.

Vince lifts Pete up and pins him against a tree. Vince
raises the machete and slams it into Pete's stomach. Pete
kicks a little. Vince pulls the knife out and Pete drops.

ANGEL (OS)
Pete!

Vince turns to the camp and walks towards it.

EXT. CAMP - CONTINUOUS

Angel waits nervously, pacing back and forth. She stops and
walks over to Will's tent.

ANGEL
Will?

WILL (OS)
Yeah?

ANGEL
Can you come out here for a minute
please.

Will gets out of the tent, followed by Lindsay.

WILL
What's wrong?

ANGEL
It's Pete.

WILL
What about Pete?

ANGEL
He went to the washroom and hasn't
come back yet.

WILL
You stay here and I'll go find
him.

Will runs off with a flashlight.

LINDSAY
(Comforting.)
I'm sure he's ok. More then likely
got turned around a bit and can't
find his way back. Will, will find
him.

She puts an arm over her.

EXT. BUSH - MOMENTS LATER

Will searching in every direction with the light looking for
Pete.

WILL
Pete? Where are you brother?

He trips over something.

WILL
What the hell?

He shines the light down. The light starts at Pete's feet
and slowly scans up his body to reveal a dead and bloody
Pete. Will stumbles backward. Horrified he hears the girls
scream and takes off back to the camp.

EXT. CAMP - CONTINUOUS

Lindsay and Angel are staring across the fire pit. Through
the smoke, an outline appears. They back up until they
cannot back up any further. Vince appears out of the smoke.
He stalks up to the girls. Angel goes to run but trips over
a tie down for a tent fly, and hits her head, knocking her
out.

LINDSAY
(Scared)
Who are you?

Vince says nothing, just keeps stalking her with a slow
methodical walk. He gets right up to her, stares her down.
Smells her hair, using a knife to bring it to his nose.
Tears stream down her face.

VINCE
Don't be afraid. Your not the one
I'm here for.

LINDSAY
(Disbelief)
What? Why?

VINCE
(Takes a step back)
I'm not here for you. You are
simply not who I am looking for.

LINDSAY
Then who?

Will runs into the shot.

WILL
Lindsay!

Vince smiles at Lindsay and turns around to see Will.

WILL
Please let her go.

VINCE
She is of no interest to me. I'm
not going to harm a single hair on
her head. She's blood.

LINDSAY
What?

VINCE
You have Banks blood. I can't kill
family. But you Will, you have
something that I want.

WILL
Oh yeah, and what's that?

VINCE
Your blood.

Vince runs at Will. Will runs at Vince with a club. Vince
swings the machete at Will, he blocks it with the club.
Vince kicks at Will and he stumbles back. Angel comes to and
she limps over to Lindsay.

ANGEL
Come on!

She tugs frantically on Lindsay's arm.

ANGEL
Let's go!

Lindsay struggles, resisting the pull of Angel.

Will knocks the machete out of Vince's hands and it slides
beside Lindsay. She looks down at it. Vince tackles Will
down, he stomps on Will's knee to keep him down. He looks
for his machete and can't find it. The sound of a knife
hitting flesh is heard. Will stares up at Vince as he falls
revealing Lindsay.

LINDSAY
I have no problem killing family.

She runs over to Will.

LINDSAY
You ok?

WILL
Not really?

She helps him up.

ANGEL
Did you find Pete?

WILL
(Looks at her)
Sorry Angel. I found him or at
least what was left of him.

ANGEL
(Sobbing)
No

WILL
The important thing is we are all
alive.

The point of the machete pops out of Will's chest. He looks
down, it slides out of his back as he clutches the wound and
falls. Vince smiles at Lindsay and walks away back into the
woods. Lindsay stands shocked. Angel runs to her as Lindsay
falls to Will. She picks his head up, her hands covered in
blood.

The title zooms into screen followed by Pictures showing
Angel and Lindsay's pregnancy.

19 YEARS LATER

EXT. WOODS - DAY

A man is seen hiking. He is in a plaid coat and jeans,
hiking boots and a walking stick. He appears to be looking
for something. Vince comes out from behind a tree and rams
the man into a tree. He holds him by the scruff of his
shirt.

VINCE
(Anger)
You lied to me!

DEVIL
Easy big man. Take it easy, let's
talk this through.

Vince eases off. The Devil regain his composure.

DEVIL
That's better.

VINCE
You lied. You said I kill all the
Strattons, I can be with my
family.

DEVIL
That sounds like something I would
have said. But the key word there
was "ALL" the Strattons, as in end
the bloodline. By my calculations
there is still two floating
around.

VINCE
(Fustrated)
No, it can't be. I finished Will
and Pete off nineteen years ago.

DEVIL
You see that, that you did. No
denying that aspect. However it
would appear you were too slow.

VINCE
(Confused)
Slow?

DEVIL
Yes slow. Do you know what happens
to teenagers with alcohol? They do
stupid shit, and that group,
Vince? The group was no different.
(MORE)

DEVIL (cont'd)
Will and Pete have children.

VINCE
No! I killed them. I did what you
asked!

DEVIL
Unfortunately, until you kill
Zack, you haven't fulfilled your
end of the deal.

VINCE
I could have, it's your damn
restrictions. I can't kill outside
the Stratton blood line. Can't
leave the woods. Do you understand
how stupid that sounds.

DEVIL
You see that's why I am here. I
cannot stress enough how bad I
need that bloodline to end. So one
final chance to bring this full
circle. Kill the Stratton, have
your family back.

VINCE
But how? Unless he comes here...

DEVIL
That's the beauty of it Vince. I'm
changing the rules. This time you
have none.

VINCE
Really?

The Devil slings his backpack off and grabs his water bottle
and drinks a little. Looks at Vince. He is impatient.

DEVIL
Sorry, did you want some?

Vince smacks the bottle out of his hand.

DEVIL
Could have just said no.

VINCE
No rules?

DEVIL
Exactly. Go where you need to, do
what you need to. Kill who you
need to, or whoever you feel like
killing along the way. Just finish
this job once and for all.

VINCE
(Smiling)
With pleasure. He is as good as
dead.

DEVIL
Good, and to make sure that
actually happens this time, I
brought someone with whom you
should be very familiar with.

VINCE
(Anger)
I don't need a babysitter.

DEVIL
That's ok think of him as more of
a brother.

The devil starts to walk away.

VINCE
I don't need anyone!

An outline appears behind Vince and grabs his shoulder.

RICHARD
You always needed help before.

Vince lowers his head.

VINCE
Richard, I don't need you brother.

He turns to him.

VINCE
This is my fight! The Strattons
are all mine!

RICHARD
You think they just stopped after
you?

VINCE
What do you mean?

RICHARD
After what they did to you, they
then came after Alan's family.
They ended when they killed me and
my wife. My kids were lucky enough
to escape.

VINCE
The Strattons?

RICHARD
Yes, the Strattons. They killed
everyone.

VINCE
So you need this just as bad as I
do. Are you ready?

RICHARD
The question is are you?

Vince spots a box with a card on it. They walk over to it
and Vince grabs the card and reads it.

VINCE
To the Banks Brothers, sorry about
your luck. I hope this helps to
ease your pain. Love your boy, Big
D.

Richard opens the box. Vince throws the card down. They look
in together and they laugh. They grab the blades and walk
off into the woods.

EXT. STRATTON PRIVATE GRAVEYARD - DAY

Lindsay and Carter are standing at Will's grave. Wearing all
black. Lindsay lays a rose at the base of the cross.

Matt, Lindsay's boyfriend, a cop in uniform walks up.

CARTER
So, mom, now that it's been
eighteen years are you finally
going to tell me what happened to
dad?

LINDSAY
(Irritated)
Every year it's the same question,
and every year it's the same
answer. I'm sorry but no.

CARTER
(Frustrated)
What the hell mom? It's not like I
don't know the jest of the
situation.

LINDSAY
You know speculation. I am the
only soul alive who knows the
truth.

CARTER
(Angry)
Here's what I know. I've never
been allowed in the woods ever,
for that matter neither has Zack.
All we know is they died on the
same day and obviously in the
woods. I think we are old enough
to know the truth.

            LINDSAY
      (Fighting back
       tears)
There's a big difference Carter,
between being old enough and being
ready for the truth. Your Aunt and
I both believe that the two of you
are not ready, not yet to know the
truth.

CARTER
This is ridiculous, absolutely
fucking ridiculous.

Carter loosens his tie and walks off.

LINDSAY
Now listen, wait, Carter?

She takes a step forward to follow him. Matt stops her.

MATT
Let him go.

LINDSAY
I never want to tell him.

MATT
But you know, one day you'll have
to.

They hug, and he holds her.

LINDSAY
I know

MATT
He just needs some time. He will
be fine.

EXT. HIKING TRAIL - DAY

Monty and Sasha are walking along a beaten trail. She runs
ahead, stops and turns to him.

SASHA
(Playful)
You coming old man?

            MONTY
      (Catching his
       breath.)
I'm coming, I'm coming. Date a
twenty year old they said. It will
be fun they said.

He finally catches up. She takes him by the hand into the
bushes. They find a clearing.

MONTY
(Curious)
What are you doing?

SASHA
Making you realize the benefits of
dating a twenty year old.

She takes a step back from him, grabs the bottom of her
shirt and takes it off, when a bush shakes behind Monty. She
gives a puzzled look.

MONTY
What?

SASHA
I could have sworn I saw something
move behind you.

MONTY
(Casual)
Could be any wild life. I mean we
are in the woods here.

SASHA
No, it was bigger then normal
wildlife.

Monty turns to the bushes.

MONTY
Honestly. It could have been
anything, Sasha.

Sasha walks up beside him as the peer into the bush looking
for what could have caught Sasha's eye.

MONTY
I don't see anything, hunny.

They pull back from the bush, turn around, and come face to
face with Vince and Richard. Sasha screams.

MONTY
What the fuck?

They try to run but Vince grabs Sasha and holds her. Richard
pulls Monty down by the hair. He crouches down beside Monty.
He holds the blade to Monty's neck. Sasha is squirming
trying to get free. Her face red and soaked with tears.

RICHARD
How do we do this?

            VINCE
      (Ponders)
Hmm
      (Motions to a
       rock.)
How about that?

Richard picks up the rock.

RICHARD
I like where your heads at. This
could be a lot of fun.

Richard holds the rock above Monty's head. Sasha struggling
to get free.

SASHA
(Pleading)
Please don't. We will do anything
you want.

Vince and Richard laugh. Vince lowers her down to Monty. He
holds her head to look at Monty. Richard bashes the rock
into Monty's skull. Spraying blood all over Sasha's face.

Richard drops the rock, stands up, and wipes the blood off
of his hands on his shirt. Vince lifts Sasha back up. He
turns her to face him, and let's go.

SASHA
(Crying)
Why are you doing this?

Vince and Richard look at each other and Richard nods. Vince
drives the knife into her stomach, and pulls the blade out.
Sasha falls limp to the ground clutching her stomach. Vince
and Richard walk away as Sasha tries to crawl away, but
eventually she dies.

INT. DINER - DAY

Landon, Jake, Cole, Mya, Mckenzie, and Alexis, are sitting
at a table with drinks. Landon and Jake are in their jerseys
with baggy jeans and ball caps backwards. Cole is in a
button up shirt with Khakis. Mya is in a tight red top and
jean shorts, Long black hair, up in a ponytail. Mckenzie is
in a low cut top, super short shorts. Blonde hair in curls
and make up to the nines. Alexis in a baggy t-shirt,
glasses, trendy jeans and put up black hair.

Carter and Zack walk in, dressed in suits with loosened
ties. Zack sits beside Cole, Carter beside Mya.

MYA
So (beat) how did it go?

CARTER
(Sighing)
About as well as you would think.

MYA
Not good then, eh?

ZACK
(Disappointed)
Another year, another day without
answers.

LANDON
Come on guys, your nineteen. Your
moms still won't tell you shit?

CARTER
I'll tell you what we know. Our
dads died on the same day and we
are banned from the woods.

JAKE
(Sarcastic)
Maybe they don't know. Did ya
think of that one?

CARTER
(Confused)
Who is this guy?

JAKE
Wouldn't you like to know.

CARTER
Actually I do, that's why I asked.

MACKENZIE
Carter, Zack this is Jake. My
boyfriend.

ZACK
That explains so much.

COLE
So I checked with my online
buddies, like you asked, and
nothing. They hacked some places I
don't even know. Even that led to
nothing.

            ZACK
That's ok.
      (Gives him a pat
       on the back)
You tried.

Nicole comes over dressed in a black dress. Hair up in a
ponytail. Her hair is dyed red. She wraps her arms around
Zack.

NICOLE
Hey baby.

ZACK
Hey

NICOLE
Can I get you guys anything?

CARTER
I'll take a cola.

ZACK
Me too.

Nicole walks off.

ALEXIS
So you would have to think that
maybe, just maybe, there is a
connection between what happened
to you dads and Bear Lake.

CARTER
That would be the logical way of
thinking. But like I said, we know
nothing.

Nicole brings food over to the table and dispenses it
accordingly.

MACKENZIE
(To Nicole)
Thanks sweetheart. Hey sexy, do
your parents still have that cabin
on Bear Lake right?

NICOLE
Yeah, why?

MACKENZIE
You think they will let us use it
this weekend?

CARTER
(Worried)
Zack, you know that our moms will
not be cool with this.

ZACK
Dude we're nineteen!

CARTER
You know what you are right! Just
tell them the truth and how it
will be.

ZACK
No, not a chance. We lie.

CARTER
Fair enough.

MYA
With that said, who is down for
this?

LANDON
I'm in, you know I'll have to
cancel on some hunnies, but I'm
good.

COLE
Is there wi-fi there?

NICOLE
Do you not think some fresh air
will clear your mind, you know see
something that you have been blind
too.

Nicole winks at Alexis, to which she smiles.

COLE
(Straight Faced)
No, really, wifi?

Nicole gets a bewildered look on her face. Landon smacks
Cole on the back of the head.

NICOLE
Yes Cole, there is wifi.

COLE
Ok, good. I'm down.

MYA
Obviously Mack is in.

MACKENZIE
Can Jake come too?

Nicole looks at Zack and mouths sorry to him.

NICOLE
Yeah of course. The more the
merrier.

MYA
Alexis?

ALEXIS
Well, if Cole is going, then I
have to. Someone has to show him
how to use his spells.

MYA
Alright Carter and Zack all eyes
on you.

Mya takes a sip of her drink then bites a fry as she looks
on in anticipation.

ZACK
I'm in. Carter?

CARTER
OK fine. I'm in, but your making
the lie.

ZACK
Deal!

MYA
Alright then

She raises her glass and everyone follows suit.

MYA
To this weekend.

ZACK
To getting black out drunk!

MYA
(Looks at Alexis)
To those that choose to not
remember this weekend.

They clink glasses.

EXT. LINDSAY'S HOUSE - DAY

A van pulls into the driveway and honks the horn.

            NICOLE
      (Yelling out the
       window)
Come on guys let's go!

INT. KITCHEN LINDSAY'S HOUSE - DAY

Lindsay and Angel are sitting around the table, the boys
walk in. They have loaded backpacks.

ANGEL
(Curious)
Where you two going?

ZACK
Beach Party at the Dixon's.

CARTER
You know Mya and Cole's parents.

LINDSAY
How long will you be gone?

ZACK
(Looks at Carter)
Not long, should be back Sunday
night.

CARTER
Just you know, get some sun, swim,
and relax. All that while being
completely responsible.

LINDSAY
Call me when you get there.

CARTER
Of course I will.

They gave their moms hugs, and walk away. The door shuts.

ANGEL
You know their lying right?

LINDSAY
Absolutely.

ANGEL
Oh well.
(Takes a drink)
kids.

LINDSAY
Not anymore.

ANGEL
What's their plan?

LINDSAY
No clue. That's what worries me.

21.

EXT. CABIN DRIVEWAY - DAY

A van pulls, Nicole pops out the drivers side and Zack gets
out the passengers side. Landon's truck pulls in as Will,
Mya, and Alexis climb out the back of the van.

Landon gets out of the truck and Cole gets out the passenger
side and walks to the back of the truck as Landon stretches.

LANDON
Damn, Nicole. This where you
escape the ugly middle class
people?

Nicole walks casually over to him.

NICOLE
Really it's just a place for my
parents to cheat on each other,
however it was a place to escape
the ugly middle class.

LANDON
Was?

NICOLE
Well now it can't be. I let you
come here didn't I.

Landon stops and looks at Nicole in disbelief. Cole walks by
him and hands him a bottle of Aloe.

COLE
Apply directly to the burn.

Landon throws the bottle at him.

LANDON
Shut up man!

Nicole stands on the top step overlooking the driveway.

NICOLE
Ok,so Carter and Mya, you'll be in
the main cabin with Zack, Alexis,
and myself. Cole and Landon you'll
be in the guest house with Mack
and her boytoy flavour of the
week.

LANDON
I don't know about my boy here,
but I'll sleep in the bathtub if
it means I don't have to share a
(MORE)

LANDON (cont'd)
house with that asshole.

MYA
I have a question. Where the hell
is Mack and her boytoy?

An oversized truck pulls in.

Zack nudges Nicole.

ZACK
That explains so much.

Mack hops out the passenger side, while Jack slides out the
drivers seat.

MACKENZIE
(Pissed)
Oh, you are such an asshole!

JAKE
Hey, you ain't no cupcake either
sweetheart.

Mack storms off toward the cabin followed by the girls, as
Jake walks to the guys.

JAKE
Women, you say they could lose
some weight once and all of a
sudden you are an asshole.

They look at him and shake their heads at him.

JAKE
What? Am I right, guys?

The guys turn as Cole walks up to him.

COLE
Dude, I have never in my life had
a girlfriend and I can tell you
that you are without a doubt, a
stupid idiot.

INT. CABIN - DAY

Nicole and Mya are comforting Mack on the couch as Alexis
brings her a box of kleenex.

ALEXIS
Here hunny.

MYA
OK, I gotta ask you, why are you
with that guy?

MACKENZIE
(Sniffles)
Cause he's super sweet and
incredibly sexy.

NICOLE
Yeah, he just sounds like the
sweetest guy you'll ever get to
meet.

MACKENZIE
You just gotta get to know him.

MYA
And how long have you known him?

MACKENZIE
Three days now.

The girls all lower their heads.

ALEXIS
Trust me when I tell you this,
I've been where you are at. Just
wanting anyone who will have you.
But Mack, you are worth so much
more then you think you are.

MYA
She's right.

NICOLE
Stop settling for whoever. And for
gods sake girl take some time to
get to know people first!

MACKENZIE
(wiping her eyes)
Your right. I'm going to go out
there and tell that asshole to
fuck off.

She gets up and leads the girls outside.

24.

EXT. CABIN DECK - DAY

Mack storms over to Jake and the girls join the guys
watching.

CARTER
This should be entertaining.

MACKENZIE
You know what, Jake?

JAKE
Look, baby I'm super sorry. I
sometimes say things that I know I
shouldn't. It's just, I get so
flustered being around someone as
sexy as you.

MACKENZIE
You mean it?

JAKE
Of course I do.

MACKENZIE
That's honestly the sweetest thing
anyone has ever said to me.

Jake takes Nicole's hands and looks at her as he talks to
Nicole.

JAKE
Where did you say are room was
again, Nicole.

NICOLE
I.... didn't. But the guest house
is all for you.

Jake runs off with Mack, he turns back to the guys and makes
a sexual gesture with a smile. Nicole has to hold Zack back.

NICOLE
He's not worth it. Yet.

ZACK
By the end of this weekend, I'm
going to have to punch that
asshole.

LANDON
Yeah, you and me both.

25.

MYA
Now, now guys. You won't punch
him, I'll knock him out first.

INT. CABIN - CONTINUOUS

Nicole leads the group up the stairs. She is showing the
rooms.

NICOLE
I see it like this. Zack drop our
shit in here, this is our room.
Cole I'll bunk you in here with
Alexis. Now the unfortunate part.
Two rooms left, and three people
to find a room. I suppose Mya can
have a room all her own and

Mya raises a hand and cuts her off.

MYA
Actually Nicole, I'd like to share
a room. I get lonely.

Nicole goes to speak and Landon cuts her off.

LANDON
Don't have to ask me twice.

He runs into the room and slams the door.

NICOLE
And that leaves you two. I'm going
to go help Zack unpack.

Nicole leaves as Carter and Mya enter the room. Carter rubs
the back of his neck nervously.

CARTER
So I guess we are bunkies.

MYA
Looks that way.

Carter carries her bags over to the dresser and puts her
stuff on top of it.

CARTER
Oh, bunk beds. I got dibs on top
bunk.

He throws his stuff on the bunk and starts to climb up.

MYA
Knock yourself out.

CARTER
So why didn't you want the single
room? I mean, I didn't know you
get lonely?

MYA
I don't get a lot of just me time,
growing up with four brothers. So
sharing a room with a boy is just
away to remind me of home.

Mya takes off her shirt, and Carter quickly looks away. Mya
laughs as he looks embarrassed

CARTER
Sorry.

MYA
What's the big deal? We went
swimming how many times last
summer?

CARTER
A lot, but I'm not sure I follow.

Mya grabs her bikini top and holds it up.

MYA
This is no different, then this.

She points to her bra.

CARTER
You are absolutely right. I cannot
agree more with you.

MYA
Ok, I waited long enough. Look
Carter I know.

CARTER
Know what?

MYA
That you like me.

He blushes and tries to hide his face.

MYA
It's ok, I like you too. I've
known for a while hell everyone
has known for a long time now.

CARTER
Why didn't you say something?

MYA
(Laughs)
I waited for you, but clearly you
were obvilous. Ok sweetheart, It's
going to be longer then this
before you see me naked so...

on the apron and chefs hat. They all have some beers. Cole
is sitting next to them with his laptop.

Guys we have to do something about

The girls are watching the guys from the window.

Mack puts the buns down and takes off the cover up she had
on for her swimsuit bottoms.

MACKENZIE
Guys, I have an idea.

EXT. BACKYARD - MOMENTS LATER

The guys are drinking, and laughing. Landon just stares at
something, mouth wide open, Zack notices.

ZACK
Landon? (beat) Landon?

Landon just points. They look to where he is pointing. The
girls are coming out bringing the buns and plates wearing
bikinis.

The guys stop what their doing, and stare. They follow them
as they walk by. They drink in unison. Carter tries to cover
Cole's eyes, but Cole looks around. The girls stop on the
dock and look back.

NICOLE
So... whose going swimming?

The guys drop everything and race to the water. Carter and
Zack grab Mya and Nicole and carry them into the water. Mack
pushes Jake in. Cole chances Alexis in, and Landon
cannonballs in.

Smoke bellows out of the BBQ

NICOLE
Zack did you forget that you had
burgers on the Bar-B-Que.

Zack looks at the BBQ and notices the smoke.

ZACK

He swims frantically to the shore and runs up to the BBQ,
opens the lid, and a large cloud of smoke comes out. He
coughs and waves the smoke away as Mya, Nicole, and Carter
walk up.

Was that dinner?

They look at the burgers once the smoke clears. They are
burnt to a crisp.

ZACK
Jesus, God damnit.

Zack throws the spatula. Nicole wraps her arms around him
from behind to calm him.

Relax hun, we have some hotdogs
that will cook in 10 minutes.

Nicole leads Zack away.

INT. MYA/CARTER'S ROOM - EVENING

Mya and Carter walk in laughing with towels around their
necks. Mya grabs some jean shorts and slips them on. Carter
looks for a shirt. Mya is rummaging threw her bag looking
for something.

Carter walks over to her, puts his hand on her back.

INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Carter, Mya, Nicole, and Zack are nearing the end of their
beer pong game.

Nicole lines up a shot, and hits it. Carter goes to drink
but Mya stops him.

MYA

She takes it from him and chugs it back. Everyone cheers and
yells for her. Carter goes for the winning shot.

ZACK
Alright, alright. This is it. For
all the marbles. You sink this, we
all know you won't, but if you do
you'll be champs.

MYA
(To Carter)

She whispers something into his ears, and his eyes get huge.

CARTER

Carter tosses the ball and hits the final remaining shot.

Landon goes over to the tree, he looks back at them
watching. He peers around the tree, looks in different
directions. He sees nothing and turns back to Carter and

There is nothing here guys.

CARTER
Alright brother, thanks.

Landon nods his head. Mya walks to her bed. Carter shuts the
window. He leans against the dresser facing her.

MYA
I saw someone. I know what I saw.

CARTER
Not saying there was or wasn't
something there, but Landon didn't
see anything there.

She collapses on her bed. Carter begins to climb the ladder,
and he falls off.

Mya offers her hand to help him up. He grabs her hand and

breakfast. Cole is sitting at the table with Landon and

EXT. LAKE - AFTERNOON

Mackenzie sits back in the sun, while Jake drops anchor and
sets up his rod.

Can't get a good tan in shorts and

hook and reels in fast. He hooks the fish.

The line rubs the side of the boat. He almost has it to the

He leans over the side to figure out what happened. He

She screams and he falls out of the boat.

Mackenzie left all alone on the boat trying to figure out
what's happening. She sits in the middle of the boat, grabs
an orr, clutching it in tears, face red.

A hand pops on the side of the boat followed by another.
Richard pokes his head above the side of the boat.

RICHARD
Hey there.

He pulls himself on board.

RICHARD
This is no place for a lady.

Mackenzie inches back as far as she can. Clinging an oar.

MACKENZIE
Stay back, stay away from me!

Mackenzie kicks at him.

She goes to swing at him, he catches the oar and pulls it
from her.

He winds up, she screams as he swings the oar.

EXT. WOODS - AFTERNOON

Cole and Alexis walk in shot. Cole is holding his cell phone
in the air following the compass. Mya and Carter follow
behind them, Zack and Nicole behind them holding hands as
Landon brings up the rear.

motions to the others to be quiet for a second. She kneels
in front at him, and the group is to her back.

He still doesn't respond. She starts to unbutton her shirt

Her shirt is undone in front of him.

ZACK

He snaps out of it and he looks up to see Alexis buttoning

Cole and Alexis walk up stairs.

EXT. BACKYARD - MOMENTS LATER

Carter is grilling the dogs. Nicole, Zack, Cole, Landon,
Alexis are sitting on camping chairs in a circle shooting
the breeze. Mya walks over to Carter with a beer and some
buns.

Hands him the beer and puts down the buns.

She picks the plate up and holds it for him as he puts the

Well, we'll eat then take a boat
and go take a look.

She smiles and nods as they bring the food over to the gang.

EXT. RICHARD/VINCE CAMP - AFTERNOON

Vince walks into the shot followed by Richard carrying
Mackenzie over his shoulder. He lays her on the ground.

Vince brings a rope over and throws it over a branch on the
tree. Richard ties her hands together and Vince hoists her
up till she's standing arms up, bleeding from a head wound.

Vince splashes water on her face while Richard ties the rope
down to keep her standing. She comes too.

MACKENZIE

in as Carter unties the boat. He walks it out a bit then

Carter paddles toward the object. Zack reaches over the side
of the boat. Nicole keeps him from falling in. He pulls an
oar out of the water.

Zack uses the oar to pull the object closer to the boat.

object. Zack grabs it and rolls it over. It's Jake with a

Zack throws the oar, as Carter starts the motor and takes

Landon sits at the table with very few poker chips left. He

The boat runs ashore. Zack hops out and pulls it on shore.

EXT. DRIVEWAY - NIGHT

Zack and Nicole run into Landon's truck, the others into the
van. Carter turns the key and it won't start. They pile out
and run to the truck.

Come on guys, hurry up.

Carter hops in the back as does Cole. They help get the
girls up. Carter slaps the roof.

Zack turns the key and the headlights go on to reveal two
silhouettes, both holding machetes.

Zack goes to put in reverse and the two front tires are

She jumps and he catches her. Cole jumps out and he helps
Alexis out. Zack gets out and helps Nicole and they all run

The gang runs into shot. Carter and Zack lead the way. The

Cole grabs Alexis by the hand and takes her and the girls
off the trail. Carter and Zack keep running toward the cabin
being chased by the Brothers.

Zack and Carter run up to cabin, and burst through the door.

They run straight through the house.

They make it to the water.

Throw a rock in.

They throw two rocks in from the fire pit. They run back
beside the cabin. Vince and Richard come to the water. They
heard the splashes and see the ripples.

They make a break for the trail.

Vince and Richard stand over Cole. Alexis's face red from

Zack and Carter lead the girls as they take off into the

Vince bends down and lifts Cole's head up. Slaps him to wake

Vince nods to Richard. Richard snaps Alexis's neck. Her body

and Alexis.

CARTER
What could we have done?
Somethings in life can't be
punched or freaked out on to be
solved. I know that's a foreign
concept for you, but we needed to
find the best low risk plan. He
was the one who couldn't wait and
went all Rambo.

ZACK
You don't think I know that shit
needs to be thought out? But in
that situation there was only time
to react. So don't bullshit me ok?
You knew damn well we had to act
then and now, but yet we do
nothing.

CARTER
If we acted we would all be dead.
Not just Cole and Alexis. Mya,
Nicole, you, me all dead.

ZACK
Nah, the five of us... the five of
us could have taken them.

CARTER
Are you serious right now? For
once, just once think with your
brain. Did you see what I saw?
These men are straight savage.
They've taken out, Landon, Jake,
Mack, Cole and Alexis. Well we can
assume Cole cause you know they
tortured and didn't mess a beat in
the process of paralyzing him. But
yet we could have taken them
right?

ZACK
I'm going to ignore the brain
comment, cause your stressed. So
what we just stand here and wait
or them to pick us off one by one?

CARTER
No, the last thing I want is for
anymore of us to die. Not you, not
Mya, not Nicole. We just have to
keep moving and wait for Matt to
get here.

ZACK
We can't just keep running without
a destination buddy.

Zack shines his light back down to look for wood.

EXT. SMALL CLEARING - NIGHT

Mya and Nicole huddled close for comfort. Mya's phone rings.

MYA
(Checks her phone)
It's Carter's mom.

NICOLE
Answer it.

MYA
Hello?

LINDSAY (OS)
Mya?

MYA
Yes, Ms. Banks

LINDSAY (OS)
Is Carter there?

MYA
(trembling)
No, he went to get some wood with
Zack.

LINDSAY (OS)
Ok, Mya listen very very carefully
to me. The men chasing you they
won't stop until they succeed in
killing Zack. Can you get back to
where you called Matt from.

MYA
I don't know where that was, and
why Zack.

Nicole takes the phone from her.

NICOLE
Ms. Banks, its Nicole. We were at
my parents cabin.

LINDSAY (OS)
Ok try to...

The phone cuts out.

NICOLE
Ms. Banks? Ms. Banks? Dammit!

Carter and Zack come back and drop off the wood.

CARTER
Was that my mom?

MYA
Yeah, sounded like she knew what
the hell is going on out here. She
said they were going to stop till
they killed one of us.

CARTER
Did she say how far away they are?

NICOLE
No.

ZACK
Wait, only one of us?

Mya looks directly at Zack.

MYA
You.

ZACK
Me? Why the fuck me?

CARTER
Where are we supposed to go?

NICOLE
My place.

ZACK
Should we go there?

CARTER
Not right now. It's too late, we
could easily run into them or
worse get turned around. We'll get
the fire going and head out first
thing.

ZACK
Guys, did she say why me?

MYA
She didn't really get a chance to
say before my phone died.

Nicole tries to console him.

ZACK
Everyone is dead because they want
me?

NICOLE
I'm sure there is something else
going on here.

Carter gets a look of guilt on his face.

MYA
Carter what's wrong?

CARTER
Ok, it's time I tell you what
happened to me this morning.

Zack perks up as the girls look at each other.

EXT. CABIN DRIVEWAY - NIGHT

The brothers are rummaging through the truck and van.

RICHARD
How do we find them now?

VINCE
This way.

Vince holds up Cole's cell phone with the tracking device.

EXT. SMALL CLEARING - NIGHT

The fire is going, Nicole and Zack are cuddled up asleep.
Mya is cuddled into Carter still awake.

MYA
Do you believe them? Like they
really killed your dad?

CARTER
Hard not to at this point hun. I
don't know. Get some rest.

They kiss. She lowers her head on his shoulder

TIME ELAPSE

Carter wakes up and there is no Mya next to him. He notices
that Nicole is gone too.

CARTER
Zack!

Zack wakes up.

ZACK
Where's Nicole?

CARTER
They are both gone.

ZACK
What the fuck? How did they get
them both without waking us?

Carter turns on his cell. Looks at it for a second.

CARTER
They're at the cabin!

Carter puts the fire out and takes off.

INT. CABIN KITCEN - MORNING

Vince finishes tying up Nicole as Richard finishes with Mya.

RICHARD
(Fustrated)
I still think you should have
killed the Stratton boy when you
had the chance.

VINCE
No, no, no. He will suffer the
same as we did. No exceptions.

RICHARD
That's your problem Vince, you let
your emotions cloud your
judgement. That's why you didn't
get the job done nineteen years
ago.

Vince gets up in Richards face.

VINCE
You stand there and tell me that
everything that happened to me,
happened to you. Yet you have no
desire and intention to make them
suffer like we did.

89.

RICHARD
Listen, I am all for making them
suffer.

VINCE
(Skeptical)
Oh, are you?

Richard loses himself, pulls out his knife and walks over to
Nicole. Holds the blade to her throat.

RICHARD
(Angry)
I could give her a knick and let
her bleed out. She'll suffer but
Vince here's the kicker, she dies.

VINCE
It's not the same, it's not the
same!

RICHARD
You see Vince, you can kill
someone and still make them
suffer. Straight and simple you
dropped the ball nineteen years
ago.

VINCE
I killed the Strattons! I did what
was asked.

RICHARD
But not before they could
pro-create, and not before the
whole system got fucked up when
one of them crossed DNA with us.
Next chance we get, we kill Zack.

VINCE
(Confrontational)
No! If you kill him before we give
him the ultimate in revenge, I
kill Carter.

RICHARD
Fine, but this ends once and for
all today.

Zack and Carter sneak up to the window. They watch on.

90.

VINCE
It will brother, oh it will. Let's
go.

The Brothers leave.

EXT. CABIN FRONT PORCH - CONTINUOUS

Carter and Zack watch as Vince and Richard leave the cabin
and walk away.

They sneak around the corner and into the cabin.

INT. CABIN - CONTINUOUS

Carter and Zack sneak up to the girls. They pull the
blindfolds off and take the gags out.

MYA
(Relieved)
Carter!

CARTER
Hurry Zack get Nicole untied.

They free the girls and hug them.

NICOLE
Guys this is getting more and more
fucked up. Your mom was right
Carter. They want Zack.

MYA
And they want you guys to suffer.

CARTER
Well, that's too bad for them,
cause that shit ain't gonna
happen.

Carter helps Mya, Zack with Nicole. They make their way to
the door and exit.

EXT. FRONT PORCH - CONTINUOUS

Zack and Nicole get off the porch with Carter and Mya right
behind as Richard and Vince stand between them and the
vehicles.

91.

VINCE
Right on schedule.

The brothers are holding bats, batting them against their
hands.

VINCE
You know I have to hand it to you
Carter I really didn't think you
were going to help us. But at
everyturn you led them right to
us.

ZACK
(Disbelief)
What is he talking about?

VINCE
I see Carter here has left out
some important information. See
Carter and I had a little heart to
heart. We gave him two choices, he
could help us kill you, or he
could help you try and the key
word there is try, to escape.

ZACK
You knew about them and who they
were this whole time?

CARTER
Come on Zack, it's not like that.

ZACK
Is that why we did nothing to help
Cole?

CARTER
It's not like that at all, guys.

Mya stares blankly at Carter.

VINCE
Just like a true Banks, just
straight cold.

CARTER
I wanted to help my friends, not
help you. I'm not just a Banks,
I'm a Stratton!

VINCE
You can fool everyone, but not me.

92.

CARTER
If you want to kill them,then you
will have to kill me first.

Carter takes a step towards the Brothers.

VINCE
Not before you suffer.

Carter runs at Vince and ducks under Richards swing and
gives a quick jab at Vince and it connects. Richard lunges
at Carter but Carter avoids it, but Vince grabs him.

MYA
Zack we have to help him.

NICOLE
But whose side is he on? This
could be a trap.

MYA
Come on Nicole, he wouldn't fight
them if he was with them.

Vince holds Carter, as Richard punches him twice in the
face. Carter smiles and spits out some blood.

CARTER
Thank you sir, may I have another.

Richard picks up the bat, lines up Carter. He is about to
swing when Zack tackles him down.

Carter wiggles free. Zack and Carter climb up on the hood of
the truck.

Vince and Richard look at each other, smile and turn to the
girls. Zack and Carter jump down and try to distract the
Brothers. Zack pushes Richard as does Carter to Vince.

CARTER
Run girls!

Vince kicks Carter in the stomach and punches him in the
face and knees him when he tries to get up.

Richard backs Zack up, Zack goes for a right hand but
Richard grabs it and squeezes it. Then he gives Zack a shot
to the face knocking him down and damn near out.

93.

EXT. BACKYARD - CONTINUOUS

The girls run around looking for a place to hide.

MYA
(Points)
There!

She points to an upside down boat. They run to it and
quickly crawl underneath it and try to be still.

The boots of the Brothers come into view. Nicole almost
screams but she covers her mouth before she could make a
noise. The boots continue to look around till they disappear
out of view.

NICOLE
That was too close for comfort.

Nicole and Mya are suddenly ripped out from beheath the
boat. Just as Carter and Zack enter the backyard.

Richard and Vince hold the girls with blades to the throats.
Vince holds Nicole, Richard with Mya.

VINCE
Not another step.

Zack and Carter hold up.

ZACK
Take it easy.

VINCE
Look at her Zack.

Vince pulls her head back a little.

VINCE
I want you to look her in the eye,
and tell her everything will be
ok.

ZACK
I can't lie.

VINCE
(Rage)
Do it! Just like I had to to do.
Your grandfather made me look at
my wife and kids, just before they
were murdered. Before he raped my
wife!

94.

ZACK
(Eyes watering)
Nicole hunny, I came out here this
weekend with one and only one
intention, to ask the love of my
life to marry me. I promise you
that it will be ok.

Nicole's eyes bloodshot from crying. Nods to Zack.

NICOLE
Yes, I love you.

VINCE
It's touching, it really is. I
love weddings. I'll make you a
deal Zack.

ZACK
Fuck you!

VINCE
I'll let her go, if you promise to
make me your best man. I mean that
is a pretty sweet deal. She lives,
and I throw you a bachelor party
to die for.

ZACK
Just let her go.

VINCE
Ok. I'm not as heartless as your
family. I won't kill her just to
make you watch. Like I said Zack,
I'm not heartless.

Vince lets her go. She looks at Vince as she slowly moves
away. He nods his head to motion to her, to go.

She tears up as she heads towards Zack. She stops. She looks
down and sees the tip of the blade coming out her chest.
Blood pours from her mouth.

ZACK
No!

Nicoles body falls down to reveal Vince holding the bloody
blade.

VINCE
Oh wait. I forgot, I am heartless.

95.

Mya and Carter tear up. Zack loses it and runs at Vince with
the baseball bat. Carter runs at Richard. Zack nails Vince
in the gut with the bat. Richard tosses Mya to the side and
goes to grab Zack but is knocked down by a charging Carter.
Zack gives a couple of kicks to Vince while he is down.
Vince notices the blood from his mouth.

VINCE
(Shock)
No, it can't be.

Zack looks down at Vince with a pissed off scowl.

ZACK
What? You really thought Carter
didn't say shit? I know how this
ends. With me killing you and your
brother.

Zack kicks him again.

Richard gets up and flings Carter to the side. Richard runs
at Zack.

CARTER
Zack!

Zack turns to see Richard running at him. He upper cut
swings the bat and it catches Richard in the chin. Blood
flys as Richard drops. He walks over to Richard laying
bleeding. He lifts the bat up and drives it down over
Richards head, killing him once and for all.

Zack comes down with the realization that they now have the
advantage. Vince is on his feet again and is charging at
Mya. Carter gets in front of her and is sent backwards
hitting his head on a tree.

EVIL VISION/DREAM

Carter is standing at the site of three crosses. He looks to
his left and sees Vince's kids all with the neck wounds,
freshly bleeding. They notion for him to follow them. They
lead him through the bushes and they point. Carter looks out
the bush and sees Mya overtop of him while Vince and Zack
battle. He looks back at the kids.

KIDS
(Monotone)
Do the right thing.

CARTER
I will.

96.

REALITY.

Mya is trying to get Carter to come to.

Vince is circling with Zack. Zack goes to hit Vince with the
bat, but Vince snatches it out of his hands and tosses it to
the side. Zack goes to hit Vince again but its blocked and
Vince upper cuts him.

Vince pulls Zack to his feet.

MYA
Come on, hunny.

She shakes him and he comes too, rubbing his head.

MYA
Zack needs you.

He looks over and see Vince choking Zack against a tree. He
get's up and runs over to the scene with a purpose.

Carter rips Vince off of Zack. Zack falls gasping for air.
Vince stands face to face with Carter. Vince can't believe
that Carter saved Zack.

CARTER
I get it now. Why you do what you
do. What happened to you and your
family, I'm sorry.

A knife entering a body is heard. Vince looks down and see
the blood run down his stomach. He falls to reveal Zack,
bloody and banged up. He stumbles back and falls as Carter
blankly stares off.

EVIL VISION/DREAM

Carter is back in the bushes with Vince's kids.

KIDS
(Monotone)
You lied to us.

CARTER
No,that was the right thing.

The kids turn away from Carter and their mom grabs their
hands.

MOM
I'm sorry children, but daddy
won't be coming home.

97.

Carter tears up as they walk out of sight.

REALITY

Mya is trying to help Zack up. Carter pulls the knife from
Vince's body.

MYA
Carter help me.

Carter helps Mya lift him up.

CARTER
I got him.

Mya lets go as Carter pulls Zack into him.

CARTER
I'm sorry... brother.

He slams the knife into Zack. Zack gets a look of disbelief
as Carter lowers him to the ground.

MYA
(Shocked, Confused)
Carter! What the fuck?

Carter slowly lifts his head up to look at Mya. He has an
evil smirk on his face.

CARTER
Embracing my hate.

He stands holding the knife.

MYA
(Crying)
Why? He was family!

CARTER
Don't waste your time.

She looks at him confused.

CARTER
Ten... Nine... Eight...

Mya turns and runs into the bushes.

CARTER
One. Ready or not here I come.

98.

EXT. BUSHES - MOMENTS LATER

Mya running hard. She hears Carter on her trail. She grabs a
broken tree branch and hides in some dense shrubs.

CARTER
Oh where, oh where can my Mya be,
oh where oh where could she be.

She is shaking in fear, gripping the branch with a white
knuckle grip.

CARTER
Come out, come out wherever you
are.

He circles the shrub looking high and low. He goes silent.

Mya tries to ses through the dense greenery.

Carter pops his head right in front of hers.

CARTER
Boo!

Mya screams as she stumbles backwards out of the shrub.
Knowing she can't outrun him, she walks backwards till she
bumps up against a tree. Carter walks from around the shrub
and stares her down.

CARTER
You know what the fucked up part
is? I actually really liked you.

MYA
(Plead)
Please Carter, don't do this. This
isn't you.

CARTER
It's such a shame too. You were
just so damn hot!

Carter raises his knife and runs at her. He yells as she
screams. She cowers, he's about to jam the knife into her
when he stops dead in his tracks. Blood drips from his
mouth. She stabbed him in the gut with the branch. He drops
down onto Mya as she crawls away from him as he falls.

An officer appears behind her.

OFFICER
Mya?

99.

She looks up in fear.

OFFICER
It's ok. You're safe now.

He checks the pulse of Carter then helps her up. He helps
lead her off scene.

EXT. FRONT PORCH - LATER

Matt's car pulls up. Lindsay sees Mya sitting on the step
covered in a blanket. The officer standing beside her.

Lindsay opens the door, gets out and stands besie Matt. The
officer shakes his head at Lindsay, she turns into Matt.

Mya walks over to Lindsay. Lindsay turns away from Matt and
holds Mya. Matt walks over to the officer who nods in a
direction.

EXT. BUSHES - CONTINUOUS

The cop leads Matt to where Carter's body should be.

OFFICER
Just through here sir.

They get there and all that there is, is blood but no body.

MATT
You said you checked for a pulse?

OFFICER
Vitals were absent when I arrived
sir.

MATT
What the hell?

They look around.

EXT. WATERFRONT - AFTERNOON

Carter crawls to the shore and drops.

EVIL VISION/DREAM

Carter sees the kids and Mrs. Banks. They have no wounds.

100.

KIDS
(Happy)
Thank you, Carter.

CARTER
For what?

KIDS
Doing what was right.

VINCE (OS)
Come on kids, time to go.

Vince walks over to grab the kids hands. He is in original
form. He nods to Carter and they walk off.

REALITY

DEVIL (OS)
Kid, hey kid.

Carter in and out of consciousness, looks up and sees the
devil.

DEVIL
Hey Carter, I have a deal for you.

AFTER CREDITS

Black screen just dialouge

COP 2
Sir, we found two alive. One has
what we can only guess is a
severely broken back and one with
single stab wound to the stomach.

FADE OUT.
