THE CREATURE IN THE FORREST
FADE IN:
INT. THE FOREST - EVENING |
a dark gloomy forest is shown, dark green is everywhere, its
almost enchanting. the camera follows the forest as if it
were floating in the air. It gets faster and faster as the
music speeds and finally comes to a stop on four men
surrounding an object in the middle of the woods. |
FRANCO
So what do you think it is? |
Franco bends down to get a better look. |
the camera zooms in on it. Its metal in the shape of an egg
with engravings on it. |
TOM
Franco don't touch it. |
VIHAAN
Yeah Frank, Don't touch it. What
if it kills us. |
Franco pulls his hand away and stands up. |
FRANCO
I'm starting to think there's a
reason that were here. |
VIHAAN
yeah I think the reason were here
is so we can call the police tell
them something weird landed in the
middle of this forest and leave
safely. |
FRANCO
I think you're all just a bunch of
pussies. |
Franco steps closer to the metal egg and almost touches it
again. |
Franco looks all 3 men in the eyes and then looks back at
the egg. |
FRANCO
You think I won't? |
2.
VIHAAN
don't instigate him please! |
Franco reaches his hand out and touches the egg. |
Nothing happens. Franco stands up again. |
FRANCO
See I told you nothing would
happen. |
VIHAAN
THANK God we didn't explode. |
The egg starts to shake and a white beam of light bursts out
of the egg up into the sky. |
VIHAAN
what's happening? Thanks a lot
Franco, this isn't how I imagined
I would die. |
TOM
Paluzzi you asshole what did you
do. |
MIKE
Should we run? I think we should
run. |
FRANCO
No were fine. Look that's it, just
a light. |
Franco closes the egg and picks it up. |
VIHAAN
What the hell are you doing??!!
Put it down! |
MIKE
No don't put it down I wanna see
what happens |
police sirens howl in the distance |
TOM
Looks like were taking the egg
with us. |
3.
FRANCO
We'll bring it to my apartment. |
EXT. THE APARTMENT - LATER |
The egg sits in Franco's living-room in the middle of the
coffee table with the men surrounding it again. |
The camera looks up at the men as if you were the egg. |
MIKE
Franco open it again. |
Franco opens it and the same white light pops out. |
Mike runs his hand through the light. |
VIHAAN
What the hell Mike, you're gonna
kill yourself! |
MIKE
I'm fine. It feels like nothing. |
TOM
I think we should bring it back to
the forest I have a bad feeling
about this thing. |
VIHAAN
Finally! Someone else is using
their brain here. |
MIKE
But we haven't even figured out
what it is. Aren't you curious? |
FRANCO
I sure as hell am. |
TOM
Yeah, Paluzzi we know you are. You
made that very clear, but we're
dealing with something serious, we
need to make a smart decision. |
4.
FRANCO
Well what did you too goons have
in mind? |
INT. THE CITY STREETS - MOMENTS LATER |
Tom carries the egg in a backpack and the rest of the men
follow behind him. |
TOM
I can feel it moving in the bag.
oh my god! |
FRANCO
yeah dude the egg is going crazy,
what the hell. |
MIKE
Hurry up the place is just over
here. |
The boys enter a run down building, with caution tape
blocking the door. Mike pushes the tape aside and steps
through the door. |
MIKE
C'mon guys it's he's through this
door. |
EXT. THE ROOM - CONTINUOUS |
The four boys walk into the room following behind Mike. The
room's dull lighting makes it hard for them to see if anyone
is there. They look around and see a bald man sitting at a
desk. |
STEVE
Hey Mike, haven't seen you in a
while. How's your dog doing? |
Mike turns around to look at his friends. |
5.
MIKE
This is Steve I've known him for
awhile. Him and my dad used to
work together studying the extra
terrestrial. |
Mike looks back at Steve with a pleading expression on his
face. |
MIKE
These are my friends Tom, Vihaan,
and Franco. Steve, We need your
help. |
STEVE
What do you need help with? |
EXT. FLASHBACK TO THE FOREST - EVENING |
EARLIER THAT DAY |
The men are shown walking around the forest with
flashlights. |
TOM
Are you sure you lost your phone
here Vihaan? |
VIHAAN
For the 100th time Tom, I am sure
I lost it here. |
FRANCO
You definitely didn't. We've been
searching the same area for 2
hours and found nothing. |
MIKE
Yeah c'mon man, I'm tired of
looking. Just buy a new one. |
VIHAAN
Okay fine, we'll leave. |
The boys start walking ready to leave the forest when a
sudden flash of light comes from the sky and lands a couple
feet in front of them. |
6.
FRANCO
Yeah what the hell was it? |
VIHAAN
I don't know? It can't be good
lets just go. |
The boys run towards the spot where the light hit and form
around it in a circle. |
FADE OUT. |
