Optical Amethyst is about three teens planning to go on a senior trip that ends up going to the dumps ... literally. They end up being stuck in a junkyard with a crazed chemist and a country cousin. Though the junkyard is pretty harmless, Silas Armstrong has other plans. He sends them into a warehouse full of hallucinogens and dead bodies. The only one with enough balls to try and save everyone is Momma, but will her efforts be in vain?

INT. LABRATORY - NIGHT |
|
|
MOS - SILAS ARMSTRONG scribbles on a notepad while looking
at a jar with an eye floating inside of it. As Silas works,
Chemist looks over at his work and looks confused at first.
Then, Chemist laughs at Silas and goes back to working.
Silas walks over to Professor who shakes his head at Silas.
When Silas, persistently, pushes the jar closer to
Professor, explaining something, Professor sends the jar
crashing to the ground and the eye rolls across the floor.
As Silas scrambles to pick up the glass he cuts his hand
deeply and wraps his hand in his overcoat. We see a nametag
on his coat: S. Armstrong. |

EXT. SORA'S BACKYARD - NIGHT |

SORA
(eating some fries)
I'm just kinda sad that it's all
gonna be over so soon. |
|
|

SHADOW
Yeah, it's weird. We may never see
some of those people again. |

KEI
(struggling with
ketchup bottle)
Exactly! We won't see them, they
won't see us. It'll be perfect! |

Well, we were the outcasts. Nobody
liked us and we didn't really
care. |

SORA

The real point is that we are

|
|
There are piles of separated junk everywhere. Kei, Sora,
Shadow, and Sol walk up to a little hut seeming to be built
into the mess. Kei knocks on the wooden door. |

| |
KEI
Biscuit, it's me, Kei. |
|
|
|
|
We hear a series of locks and then we see Biscuit. |
|
|

BISCUIT
(examining Kei)
Well... you look nice...Really
nice. What stroke of good luck
brings you to see me? |

KEI
Yeah...we are going on a road trip
and we need a ride. |
|
|

BISCUIT
Oh! I can give you a ride.
(disgusting laughter) What kind

I have an RV...but, it's missing a
few things. |

Kei and the others walk off as Biscuit watches them. |

INT. JUNKYARD - NIGHT |
|

The sun is setting as Kei, Sora, Shadow and Sol walk up to
an old, dirty RV in the midst of some junk. |
|
|

SHADOW
You cannot be serious.
(beat)
This is the RV? |

|

SOL
Can this thing even move? ...
Shadow, I'm gonna go back home. I
don't want to ride across the
country in that thing. |

Sora begins to walk toward a nearby pile and push things
aside while Shadow, Kei, and Sol just sit there looking. |

wants to leave this place? Get
your butts over here...NOW!!! |
|

SORA
That's more like it. |
|
|

After a while they have sifted through the pile until it is
practically nothing and still haven't found anything. |

Is he even sure he has any tires? |

I have never seen a junkyard

we are gonna need to make it

goes to town sometimes and brings
back food and whatnots. The point
is that you are gonna have to look

Dead body? I don't remember
anyone dropping off a dead body.

The warehouse is very dark on the inside but, also very
clean. When you come in you see tools and workbenches set
up but they don't look as if they have been used at all. The
five of them sit on some of the different benches. |

It smells funny in here. |
|
|

SHADOW
Yuck! There is absolutely nothing
funny about that smell! What is
it?!? |
|
|

SILAS
What smell? There isn't a smell. |
|
|

A shadowy figure ducks into the darkness. We hear a clatter
and the person stumbles into the lighted area. |

Biscuit? What are you doing here? |
|

Biscuit leaves the warehouse followed by Shadow, Sora, Sol,

Biscuit)
Oh, no particular reason... |

Biscuit turns to see what Kei is talking about. Kei gives a
forced (nervous) laugh. Shadow turns to Kei, Sol, and Sora
and begins to whisper behind Bisuit's back. |

SHADOW
You guys, I'm a little worried
about Biscuit now. I don't think
we can really trust him. |
|
|

SOL
What are you talking about?
Biscuit seems nice. |
|

SHADOW
No, I mean, he is sneaky. Why do
you think he didn't want us in the
warehouse? Huh? |

eyes sewed together. Why? |

Maybe he is just sensitive about
that subject. |

Stop defending him...I understand
what Shadow is saying. It was
like he was thrown into a trance. |

SHADOW
Exactly. And why, when you
mentioned the dead chick, did he
not even seem to care? He just
said he didn't remember anyone
dropping it off. Don't you find
that a little strange? |

Maybe he...nevermind... |

tell us what you were thinking. |

remember. All that I know is that
I fell asleep in that warehouse
and when I woke up my eye was
gone... I remember a doctor... So

Wait! Silas said something about

Yeah, the environment's unsterile,
there's junk EVERYWHERE, and...it
just wouldn't work. |

Precisely! And Silas looks dumber
than even ME! |

KEI slaps SOL over the back of his head. |
|
|

Yeah, I'm getting tired... |

BISCUIT leads them toward the cabin as the sun continues to
set on the horizon. |
|
|

INT. CABIN - NIGHT |
|
|
BISCUIT, SOL, SORA, and SHADOW are all sitting in chairs
around a glowing fireplace. The log cabin is rustic with an
assortment of odds and ends collected over the years by
BISCUIT. KEI is hiding behind SORA, who is furthest from
BISCUIT. SOL is wandering around, apparently looking for
something and SHADOW is sitting between SORA and BISCUIT. |

We really hate to disturb you but,
it seems very unlikely that you
don't know what happened to your
eye. |

SORA
Well, it is entirely plausible if
he was drugged by something or
someone...but I don't see why they
would WANT your eye? |

Do you have good vision? |
|
|

SHADOW
Shut up, Sol. And sit down! |
|

BISCUIT
No, that's okay. That's actually a
good question... My vision used to
be terrible. |

from the wall to reveal a safe. He uses the key and opens
the safe to where the kids can look in. The safe is full
with jars and notebooks and an old labcoat. Sol gets the
coat from the hook and puts on. |

Sol turns to leave but, as he is walking out he notices that
in a pile of corpses there is one that does have it's eyes.
Purple eyes. He, for no reason, places one of the bodies
that has sewed eyelids on one of the "operation tables" and
puts on gloves. First, he slowly cuts the threads from the
eyes using small surgical scissors. Second, he lifts the
upper eyelid using tweezers. When he pulls it up we see a
shot of his facial expression. He passes out. After a few
minutes Sora comes in looking for those two. |

been here. |

You knew that Shadow's brother was

We here Sol's deafening scream offstage. |

go save Sol!! |

SHADOW

We hear Sol scream offstage again. |
|

KEI
(leaving)
Shadow, I have to go. |
|
|

BISCUIT
Now we can either sit here and
wait for Kei to come back or we
can try to see if we can find
transportation. |

|

| |
SORA
Well, I don't know anybody... |
|

SHADOW
Kei's mom! I can use his
cellphone. |
|
|

SORA
Doesn't he have his cell? |
|
|

SHADOW
(pulls out Kei's
phone)
Nope. |
|
|

BISCUIT
(to Sora)
Shhh... |

SHADOW
Is this Kei's mom?... Yes, I have
his phone. No, that is not how I
got it. Listen Mrs. Larson we
need some help! Yes, Kei is in
trouble! And so is my brother. |

MOMMA (VO)
(yelling into
receiver)
MY BABY!!! |
|
|

SHADOW
Yes ma'am. We need your help. Can
you possibly come and get us?
Where are we? |
|
|

BISCUIT
Tell her the junkyard in Collins,
Alabama. |
|
|
|
| |
SHADOW
You heard him? Okay. We'll see
you soon.... I... love you too? |
|
|
|
As Shadow hangs up the receiver we hear one last scream of
desparation, but this time from Silas. Kei comes running
out of the WAREHOUSE with Sol hanging limply in his arms. He
collapses on the ground. Shadow, Sora, and Biscuit run
towards them. |

SHADOW
(leaning over Sol)
No! Sol! Please get up! Get up!
Sol?
(realizes that he
is dead)
That stupid...! He took my
brother! SOL!!! |
|
|
|
|
|
|

| |
SHADOW
Sol is dead Sora! Silas took my
brother! Sol is not alive! |
|
|
|
| |
SORA
Well, neither is Kei! |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
As Shadow walks over to Kei, Biscuit grabs Sol's body. |
|
|

SORA
He tried to save your brother. |
|
|

| |
SHADOW
(kneeling)
Kei... you idiot. Why? I never
got to tell you... |
|
|
|
Shadow kisses Kei softly on the lips. Kei smiles and then
jumps up. |

(jumping around
and heehawing and
whatnot)
Yes!!! Ha ha! |

SORA
Why are your clothes... damp? |
|

KEI
What?
(looks down)
Hey! |

SHADOW
(imitating Kei)
Yes! Ha ha! |

KEI
(covering himself)
Stop laughing! Anyone in my
situation would have done that! It
isn't that funny! |

|

|
Silas is slowly walking towards the group. He is bloody and
bruised. |
|
|
| |
SHADOW
Silas! You killed my brother! |
|
|
|
| |
SILAS
And you didn't leave him with me
alone! You had to bring someone
in there. You just screwed up my
experiment! Just like my
professor. I trusted you. I
didn't know that you would turn on
me and now, I am gonna- |
|
|
|
Everyone looks up as they see headlights coming towards
them. When the car screeches to a halt, a very nice-looking
woman steps out of the car and stomps over to the group. |
|

MOMMA
Who was messing with my baby? |
|
|
|
Everyone points at Silas. When she gets over there, she
slaps him...HARD! |
|
|
| |
MOMMA
Why were you messing with my baby? |
|
|
|
| |
SILAS
I don't know ma'am. |
|
|
|
| |
MOMMA
Does that teach you a lesson? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
MOMMA
Will you leave my boy alone? |
|
|
|

|
|
|
|
When Momma turns around, Silas grabs her around the neck.
Biscuit gives Sol carefully over to Shadow and tries to stop
Silas. Silas uses the dagger that Sora gave Kei to stab
Biscuit in the heart. Shadow screams. Momma grabs Silas's
arm and flips him over. Then she drags him by his hair into
a corner and then we here his scream and the sound of
breaking bones. |

EXT. SORA'S BACKYARD - DAY |
|
|
|
Shadow, Sora, and Kei are sitting and talking. |
|
|
| |
SHADOW
I don't think that a trip was a
good idea. |
|
|

SHADOW
Yeah, I know. But, we lost my
brother, Biscuit, ... |
|
|
|

KEI
... and my mom kicked Silas's
butt! Can I tell you guys
something? I think that I am
going to miss Biscuit. |

SORA
I won't, it was hard trying to get
him into your mother's car! |
|
|
|
| |
SHADOW
Yeah, but still, he tried to save
Kei's mom and Kei tried to save my
brother. You know, when we were
in the car I found out that I had
the keys in my pocket the whole
time. He ... he went back in there
for nothing. |

SHADOW
Mmhmm. I had the keys and I sent
my brother in there. I killed
Sol. |
|
|

SHADOW
If I hadn't had the keys... |

SORA
Shadow, it's okay. He died
because he was brave enough to try
and get us out of that place. It
took balls, Shadow. |
