INT. IN KITCHEN IN BEACH RENTAL, SUNNY DAY - DAY |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Hey,Dad, I'm making jello, would
you like lime or peach? |
Camera shows both men, in kitchen, Dad sits down and looks
at magazine. |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
I don't care, either one. |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Oh, come on Dad, remember you
always liked lime. Don't you
remember. Key limes, Miami. Good
times. |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Either one sounds great to me,
ole' buddy! |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Guess what Dad, I didn't bring my
reading glasses to the beach. So,
I can't read, the fine print on
the package. |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Well, we've got internet access
don't we, just look it up. No
problem. Hey, I'm volunteered to
grill the grouper tonight. Ain't
that cool? |
Jack, walks over to the long dinner table, opens the laptop
and types on the keypad. |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
You won't believe this. The server
in maintenance until tonight
sometime. I can't believe it! |

IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Well, not to worry. I'm sure
there's someone we can talk to
that would know how to make it.
Let's try the phonebook. |

STARTS FLIPPING PAGES IN A PHONEBOOK, IN THE KITCHEN. |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
But Dad, we've got to put this pie
together soon, right? I mean, the
whole family is going to be coming
back from a day on the beach and
their going to want this pie. |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
I've got a plan. I'm going to call
a restaurant and see, if they can
help me. Sound good? |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Yeah, in a weird Seinfeld, kind of
way. Who ya' callin' Dad? |
Dad, on Phone, to Eddy's Pizza. Looking confident, winking
at Jack. |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Is this Eddy's Pizza? Okay, great!
Look I'm staying on the beach here
and I'm in bind. Can you or do you
know of the recipe to Strawberry
jello Pie? |
IN KITCHEN
(Voice on Phone)
Look freak, you want pizza. You
call here. You want to make a pie,
you call somewhere else. Goodbye!! |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Not interested, huh? The Chomp. |

IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Jack, I'm trying to figure this
one out. This one is tough. Isn't
it, son? |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Times awasting! We've got to make
this pie and put it in the frid
soon, for dessert tonight.
Everybody's looking so forward to
this pie. We're in a fix. |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Okay, I've got another plan. Now
this is a bit crazy, but with a
little positive thinking and a
little "luck" it may work.... |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Sounds interesting. Sounds a
little scary. What is it? |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Okay, son, we're sunk, right, if
don't deliver, the goods. This
pie. Right? Listen, to my speel,
before you slam it. Okay? Now,
this is serious, I mean, the whole
family at the beach, playing in
the surf and sunbathing all day. I
mean if don't come up with this
pie, we will be... We'll you know.
I mean we'll be... Anyway, along
the beach, down there, two blocks
away, right. There's a blimp. |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
A Blimp? What the heck, does our
making a pie have to do with a
blimp, Dad? |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Okay, that's the part I'm getting.
You're not letting me get the
whole out, before you decide.
Okay, so, there's this blimp, I've
heard of. And it will display your

message along the beach for ah,
$50 or so. So, we only need to
call them, and have our message
say, Need Strawberry jello Pie
recipe, please call. |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
So, I'm supposed to believe that
someone will call us, regarding
this fantasic ad? |
JACK, LEANS AGAINST COUNTER, STUNNED AND STARTS TO LAUGH... |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
I mean it's worth a try. Right? I
mean what can we do? |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
It sounds fantastic, but it may
work. What have we got to lose? I
think it's great. Let's call these
guys. |
THAT NIGHT, AFTER A NICE DINNER, DAD, BRINGS OUT THE PIE... |
IN KITCHEN
(Jack)
Dad, looks fantastic, doesn't it?
We had a heck of an afternoon, but
we did it. I'm proud of us. Oh,
buy the way, Aunt Marg, said the
saw the weirdest ad on the Beach
Blimp today. She said, it had
something about some freaks,
needing a pie recipe. Isn't that
strange, Dad? |
IN KITCHEN
(Dad)
Yep, it sounds like a family
having a beach vacation to me son.
Laughing... |
FADE OUT. |

I do like the simple comic things you've put in dialog, although you need to work on your punctuation and flow of writing.
"Yeah, in a weird Seinfeld, kind of way." - great |

you should include a scene where multiple recipes are received and they get them confused and end up with a pie that can not be reproduced because they realize they gathered instructions but something like the stack of papers gets dropped and that is how the mix up creates a unique pie!! |
